Relatively old T400 that has touchpad problems

Oh where do I begin... I'm having issues with the two buttons right below the touchpad. The left button spontaneously stopped working. I can't drag and drop anything. I can't select anything but I can close a window. I can single click on a link, but I cannot double click. If I click on a button on the start menu then a window where I clicked will pop up asking if I want to open the application or show on the desktop. When I click on the bar on the scroll bar it stays pressed until I click it once more. If I try to drag and drop a mp3 in iTunes the file stays attached to the arrow, when I depress the left button the mp3 is still attached and the only way I can separate the mp3 file from the mouse is to press the escape key. I can't click on the right button to bring up the mini menu to copy, paste, select all, etc... things either. I've attached some screenshots as to what my settings are and the issues that I've been experiencing.
I've updated the driver. Then uninstalled and then reinstalled the driver and the ultranav software.

No the track buttons do not work, or rather they sorta work. I did boot it in safe mode and they don't work there either.
Two other things that I noticed... When I log in when I move the mouse on the desktop a blue box appears whenever I move the mouse.

The other thing that I noticed is that I can't click on any icons or even click the button for the start menu. I have to use my keyboard to go to an application. Then I have to do CTRL+ALT+DEL and then go to the task manager to close an application and then the tracking buttons will work but in their limited form.

Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

You'll likely need the assistance of some sort of 3rd party software. Keep in mind that the photos on your iPod are only scaled down thumbnail versions of the originals. So even if you do manage to copy them backt to your PC, they will not be in their full original resolution.
Do a simple Google search for "copy photos from ipod" and you should get a number of hits that can assist you.

You can't transfer a balance (nor its purchases) to another account. Do you have any of its purchases on your computer's iTunes library ? If you do then selecting it and doing 'get-info' (control-I) should tell you the account id on the Summary tab on the popup.

If this is a fairly new Mac running either v10.7 Lion or v10.8 Mountain Lion she can use Lion or Mountain Recovery to repair the startup disk or reinstall OS X.

How to restart an old G4 that has been in storage for years?

I have an old G4 that was stored in our basement for years. The last time I used it was 6 years ago and it worked fine. Now it won't fire up. The internal battery has been replaced and when I press the start button the light comes on, the light for the Zip drive comes on but that is it. If I let go of the button, nothing.
I'd really like to get this thing fired up or at the very least transfer the files from the hard drive to my MacBook pro.
Any ideas? I did do a search here but couldn't find a solution.

Restore them to the new computer using the bakcup of the old one. If you don't have a backup of the old computer, you can re-download music purchased from the iTunes store. If they were imported from CD's, etc. You will either have to re-rip them or purchase third party software to extract them from the phone. The iPhone is not a backup or data transfer device.

Can I recover text messages from an old Iphone that has now been wiped? Some of my messages got lost in between the process of turning my old phone in for a new one-which I have since restored from a backup a few days old

In the process of exchanging my defunct Iphone for a new one, some important text messages were lost. The messages obviously did not transfer over to my new phone as I had to restore my new phone from a backup performed a few days ago. Is there a special trick that will allow me to somehow enter my cell number, since it is still the same, in order to recover texts that were received in between wiping my old phone and getting a new one?

You can use an iPhone file explorer such as TouchCopy to get the messages off the old phone. But you can't put them on the new phone as messages. You could put them in a pdf file that you could read on the new phone.
Normally when you get a new phone the first thing you should do is transfer the contents of the old phone to it (Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support)). Then the problem does not arise. You are even prompted to do this when you activate the new phone. Once you have started using the new phone without doing this it is too late.

When will Apple fix Lion OS X v10.7 from freezing after my 27" Mac is put to sleep? I must admit that I am amazed that Apple would release an OS that has this problem, for that matter any serious problem.

When will Apple come up with a fix for Lion OSX v10.7 from freezing after Lion is put to sleep? My 27"Mac freezes after being put to sleep and a hrad boot is required to be able to use the system. I have complained to the local Apples store numerous times. The Genious Bar re-installed the OS and it crashed the very next day and continues to crash two or three times per week. I am amazed that Apples would relase a product, any product before it has been proven to be solid, then again, look at the release of the newest IPhone 4-S.

Gabor, I can't help, except to report that I, too, experience very frequent unexplained crashes and freezes in Lion. However (so far) not when I put it to sleep.
There are a lot of reports about freezes. Here's one. Maybe you should join that thread. Someone there is also reporting that "Lion has a bug that freezes the system when waking the system from sleep."
Are you getting freezes/crashes at other times or only when sleeping the computer?
And does it successfully go to sleep?
Does it freeze when you wake it, or at the point where you're putting it to sleep?
