Release 10.2.1.527 and Voice Command App

The Vice Control is not working as it did before this software upgrade. It used to ask, for example, "What would you like to do?" and  say a comfirmation of my command . This makes hands free abilities unworkable while driving. I can still pick up calls and make call using the Q5 but have to navigate through it on the screen, illegal here. I have played with all volume controls and have relaoded this release twice.
I would love to revert back to the last release since I hadn' t found any advantage to this one only this huge disadvantage! I had no issues with the last release which worked fine for me. I was hoping that this new release would give me greater features, like the marvelous BOLD..no such luck!
Suggestions?

You can auto load the old os if you want but you will lose a lot of features I would suggest waiting for a fix.... good luck!

  • Shortcut buttons for both camera and voice command

    Hi
I am having trouble with my blackberry 8900. I was using my phone and i'm not sure what i did. All of the sudden my camera and voice command doesnt work as a shortcut on either the top of the phone for the camera  or the side for the voice command. Do you know how to fix the problem. I prefer using the voice command on the side and the camera at the top better than using the home screen.
    Thank you

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • TS2634 Home button and voice command problems

The home button stopped working today on our iPhone 4 and voice command keeps coming on.  I have done a hard restore to no avail.  Any ideas what I should try next?

No clue what a "hard restore" is, no such function exists.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  If none of this resolves the issue then it is almost certainly a hardware issue and a trip to Apple is in store.

  • Landrover Evoque and Voice Commands - iOS 7 / iPhone 5S problems

I have a Landrover Evoque which has Voice Controls.
I also have iOS 7.0.3 and the iPhone 5S.
Before the upgrade to phone and iOS the voice controls worked fine in that it could call a contact based upon voice recognition in the car.
All worked fine until the new software upgrade.
However, if I press the Voice Command button and say 'Phone Call Contact" it returns a response "No Handset Connected" and fails.
However the phone is connected via Bluetooth and ALL of the contacts have been downloaded to the car address book.
    Anybody else have this?
    Anybody know of a fix?
In case anybody asks - the Bluetooth has paired ok, mad it will make and receive calls - it also will play the music through the Bluetooth.
However this is now more unsafe than it was before.

    No.
You can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
or on your phone settings - general - reset - reset network settings - you will have to re enter password for known wifi.

  • E61 Bluetooth and Voice Command

Has anyone noticed a degradation in the performance of Voice Command while using a Bluetooth headset on firmware 2.0168.06.05?
I find the speech recognition does not function in the version (it worked flawlessly in the previous firmware) and often the E61 misses the activation button from the headset.
I'm using and E61 with a Sony Ericsson HBH-610a BT headset.

I have been using voice dialing with no issues using a Motorola HS850. That headset died and I switched to Plantronics voyager 510 but the voice dialing doesn't work.
I can hold down the call button on the headset for two seconds, the nifty little tones play and the screen says Speak Now with the progress bar, but after I speak it just returns to the standby screen.
I tried disconnecting the headset and holding down the record button, which allows for voice dialing, and I get the tones, the Speak Now and progress bar, but after speaking, it just returns me to the standby screen.
Any ideas on why this used to work with one Bluetooth headset and now doesn't work at all?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Lost compass and voice control apps

I upgraded from a 3g to a 3GS and when I plugged into iTunes I told it to restore the new phones settings from backup of the 3G. All was good until I realized that this wiped out the native 3GS apps- compass, maps, and voice control. Any ideas how to get them back without restoring to factory settings?

Those apps probably cannot be "wiped out" since they are built into the phone.
Try a reset of the phone: Hold the button on top and the Home button together.
Also look and see if your icons have moved to a different screen.

  • Hi all. I've just received my new mac. I'm trying to set up. I turn it on and the apple logo on white screen loads. then the screen turns black and voice command starts. I can't see anything on the screen and it's really annoying me. please help

    Please help

Found this in the voiceover manual.  Try this shortcut.
    Darkening the Screen
If you are a sighted user, you can use the screen curtain to simulate a non-sighted user’s experience. The screen curtain turns off all the visuals of the display, leaving a blank screen. This is a great way to learn how to use VoiceOver.
To turn the screen curtain on and off:
    Press Control-Option-Shift-F11.
Edit:  FN Control Option Shift F11

  • HT5176 iPad 2 and voice dictation app

I am seeing an app called voice dictation that says it is compatible with iPad.  I have an iPad 2.
Can I use headphones with a mic or just a mic into the headphone jack to be able
To use dictation for this app, or will this only work with iPad 3.

As the HT5176 article you attached indicates, Dictation is part of Siri.
Siri is not supported on the iPad 2.

  • Voice commands not working since V2.3.340 update

Voice Commands has stopped working since the upgrade. When voice commands is activated, it flashes a "please wait" screen then goes back to my home screen. I tried power reset and data clear for the voice commands app. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks

Recently, I also had a small issue with Voice Command on my Droid X.  Although, it wasn't the same as your issue.
My issue was with the audio response of Voice Command.  Voice Command could understand me but the Voice Command "voice" was muted and not available.
I eventually traced the cause to the Droix X being "paired" with a Panasonic "Blue Tooth" 6.0 Land Line telephone system.
Turning off Bluetooth on the Droid X corrected the Voice Command audio issue.
I am sure it could have also been corrected by "un-pairing".
So, my point of posting is to keep searching for the cause.  It's there somewhere.  Have you done the 30 second Battery Pull procedure?

  • Voice command problems...

On my Droid X, Whenever I activate the voice command using my Motorola H720 bluetooth earpiece it takes 30 seconds to a minute before it asks for my command. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to decrease this delay?
On my old Samsung Sway voice command response was almost instantaneous. This is very frustrating.
    cadre

There are 2 separate Voice command input apps. I find that there is a long delay if using the VOICE COMMANDS app from the apps drawer --  like 20+ secs or so.  However the VOICE SEARCH app responds nearly immediately. So to get around that delay, I have an icon on my app quick launch for VOICE SEARCH and use that one like 95% of the time. It seems to do all the Voice commands that I tend to use. There seems to clearly be a difference between the  apps -- maybe the VOICE SEARCH is Google's and the VOICE COMMANDS is Verizon's ???  Not sure .. but try using the other one for a while. Just drag & drop the APP to your main screen or quick launch  (I use LPP).
    Good luck

  • Known issue: Cortana voice command definitions are not cleaned up after uninstalling the app (Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK and tools, April 2015 release)

Voice command definitions are not removed from Cortana's cache when an app is uninstalled. This may cause conflicts between two apps that share the same voice commands.

This issue should not impact your ability to reinstall and test the same application. However, you must reinstall the OS in order to reset the cache in cases where you are seeing conflicts between different apps.

  • Known issue: Cortana background voice command cannot be debugged due to 5 second timeout (Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK and tools, April 2015 release)

Cortana currently dismisses itself as soon as it loses focus. If you switch to Visual Studio when debugging a background voice command, Cortana will dismiss itself, end the connection with your app and kill the app's background task.

You can work around this issue by remotely debugging your app on a different machine. This eliminates the focus problem by allowing Cortana to remain in focus (on the remote machine) while you debug with Visual Studio (on your local machine).
    Prerequisites
You have installed Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2015 RC on your main development computer.
You have installed Windows 10 on a separate computer or virtual machine (Visual Studio not required).
    Note: Download Windows 10 from
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso-update-1504
    Terminology
Your local computer is your main development box with Visual Studio 2015 RC and your project files.
Your remote computer is a separate machine that will run your app remotely while maintaining a connection with Visual Studio on your local computer.
    Step 1: Enable Remote Desktop
Ensure your remote computer can receive Remote Desktop requests:
    Sign into your remote machine
Right-click the Start menu and select System
Make a note of the machine name (you will reference it often)
    Click the Remote settings link
Select the Allow remote connections to this computer radio button
    Save and close
Step 2: Configure your Remote Desktop connection and remote microphone
On your local machine, start Remote Desktop Connection from the Start menu
    Click Show Options
On the General tab, type of the name of the remote machine
Navigate to the Local Resources tab
Click the Settings button in the Remote Audio section
Change Remote audio recording to Record from this computer. This enables the remote microphone
Hit OK and navigate back to the General tab
Click Save As and save the Remote Desktop connection to a location on your computer
    Connect to the remote machine
Step 3: Install Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2015 RC on the remote machine
    Sign into the remote machine
    Navigate to
    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/downloads/visual-studio-2015-downloads-vs.aspx
Expand Additional Tools and look for Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2015 RC
    Download and install
Configure the remote debugger as described at
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bt727f1t.aspx. Tip: Scroll down to “Start and configure the remote tools for the first time”
Run Remote Debugger from the start menu and keep the app running
Step 4: Enable developer mode on the remote machine
This step allows you to deploy and test apps to the remote machine. For details and alternate instructions see
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn706236.aspx.
Remain signed into the remote machine
Run gpedit.msc from the start menu (this is the Local Group Policy editor)
Ignore the two popup error messages that will appear immediately
Use the tree view on the left side to navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> App Package Deployment
Double-click and enable Allow all trusted apps to install
Double-click and enable Allows development of Windows Store applications and installing them directly from an IDE
Step 5: Enable Cortana debugging on the remote machine
This step disables the 5-second timeout when running a background task.
Remain signed into the remote machine
Run Debuggable Package Manager from the start menu
    Copy/paste the following line exactly and hit enter: $a=Get-AppxPackage | Where-Object {$_.Name -eq "Microsoft.Cortana"}
Copy/paste the following line exactly and hit enter: Enable-AppxDebug $a
Type exit and hit enter to close the window
Step 6: Confirm you can connect to the remote machine with Visual Studio
Sign into the local machine and start Visual Studio
Click the Debug -> Attach to process menu (a project does not have to be open)
Type the name of the remote machine and hit enter
Provide your credentials (if using a Microsoft account, type your email display name and password, ignoring the domain text)
The connection is successful if you see a list of processes
Tip: If you experience a problem, make sure the Remote Debugger app is running on the remote machine
Step 7: Configure remote debugging in your Visual Studio project
Open your project in Visual Studio on the local machine
Open the project properties (e.g., right-click the project in the solution explorer and select
    Properties)
    Navigate to the Debug section
Select Remote Machine for the target device
Type the name of the remote machine
    Close settings
If necessary, on the Visual Studio toolbar select Remote Machine
If necessary, switch to x86 or x64 depending on the remote architecture
    Run
    If prompted, enter your credentials
Switch to the remote machine over Remote Desktop and confirm the app shows up
Sometimes it will not show up during the first run; stop and restart
Set a breakpoint and confirm the debugger on the local machine is triggered
You should now be able to debug Cortana voice commands, including background commands.
