Release Date Delivery

Does best buy not do release date delivery? I can't believe that with all of their competitors offering that. What is the point of PREordering a game if you don't recieve until a week after it releases?

Hello disgruntled76,
While I’m not a gamer myself, I do have a quite a few of them in my family so I understand wanting games as soon as they come out. A pre-order is a great way to ensure that you get your hands on a copy of the game; however, it’s disheartening to hear you haven’t received your preorder yet despite yesterday’s release date. I’m sorry for any disappointment this may have caused.
We try to get pre-orders to our customers as soon as possible with the ideal day of arrival being its release date. After looking through your account using your email address attached to the forum, I see that while your order started to ship to you a day prior to release, standard shipping was selected at the time of purchase. According to our Shipping Costs and Timing policy, we do ask for 4 to 8 business days to deliver your order. To ensure earlier delivery of future orders, you might consider our store pick-up option like Dxtra30 mentioned or choosing expedited shipping at the time of placing the order.
Having said this, I see your order’s tracking number shows USPS is scheduled to have your order delivered by the end of today, so make sure you are keeping an eye out for it.
On a side note, I think your comment about making delivery of games on their release date standard for gamer’s club unlocked members is a great idea! One way to make sure ideas like yours are heard is to post them on our IdeaX board. IdeaX is where our customers may voice their opinions about how to improve our business as a whole. While I can’t guarantee we’ll bring them to life, there are a few suggestions we’ve implemented from the site.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll be glad to help.
Best Wishes,

• PR delivery date vs PR release date

Hi, did anyone know why changing PR delivery date will affect the PR release date? Can PR release date remain unchange if changes made to PR delivery date?
Pls advise.
Thanks.

Hi,
I guess you're referring to the Release Date which is shown in Quantities/Dates tab in the PR.
If yes, then what you notice is a standard system behaviour. This release date is calculated as Delivery Date - PLDT.
Hope the above answers your question.
If helpful award points

Purchase requisition is created through MRP run and release date of the pur req is 2 days before delivery date.I have not maintain sheduling margin key, planned delivery time,GR processing time, etc. How this is happening?

Hi
Please check in config Materials management--> Purchasing-> Purchase requisition ---> Processing time . You might have given 2 days for purchase requisitin processing time for your plant. That may be the reason you have 2 days difference.
Remove this and save and re run MRP. It will work for you

• PR release date capturing for all levels

Hi,
I have activated PR release strategy at Header level. There are about 4 levels of release are there. In custom PR print program, I want to capture the details of all levels corresponding release dates. Can you help me how I can go about it.
Munna.

Hi
PR release date is not relevant to Release strategy.
Purchase Requisition Release Date
Specifies the date on which the purchase order should be initiated on the basis of the purchase requisition.
The release date is based on:
The purchasing department processing time defined for the plant
The planned delivery time from the material master record or purchasing info record
The delivery date
The goods receipt processing time from the material master record
Note
The planned delivery time from the purchasing info record and the GR processing time are only taken into account if the purchase requisition was generated via materials planning.
Example
Processing time Planned del. GR processing
Purchasing time time
Release PO Delivery Date
date date date required
Date required: 10.01.96
GR processing time: 2 days (working days)
Planned delivery time: 10 days (calendar days)
Purchasing dept processing time: 2 days (working days)
For the material to be available on the date it is needed, the purchase requisition must be released on 09.11.96 (requirement date less GR processing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department processing time).
Hope it helps
Thanks/karthik

• Pr release date is previouse to PR request date.

Hello SAP Experts,
Its an immediate requirement, in MRP run for auto. PR creation, the date ,is not updating after PR creation it is showing the Planned date.
Pr release date is previouse to PR request date.
Thanks & Regards,
Anisha

When you creates the PR and the delivery date is not as per the calculation of the Planned delivery time + Gr Processing Time from the date of creation of the PR.
It goes for a back calculation on the Basis of Planned delivery time + Gr Processing Time and gives the
release date as past date.

• PR Release date in ME5A

Hi,
In ME5A (List Scope 'A'), system is showing PR Release date same as delivery date. E.g., If delivery date given in PR is 31.10.2009, then Release date is also showing as 31.10.2009.
This is happening even for PRs which are not released.
Can any one suggest the solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards,
Gopi Chand

Dear,
The Release date showing in PR is not the Purchase requsition released for further processing. It represents the :
Purchase Requisition Release Date
Specifies the date on which the purchase order should be initiated on
the basis of the purchase requisition.
The release date is based on:
o The purchasing department processing time defined for the plant
o The planned delivery time from the material master record or
purchasing info record
o The delivery date
o The goods receipt processing time from the material master record
Note
The planned delivery time from the purchasing info record and the GR
processing time are only taken into account if the purchase
requisition was generated via materials planning.
Example
Processing time Planned del. GR processing
Purchasing time time
Release PO Delivery Date
date date date required
Date required: 01.10.2007
GR processing time: 2 days (working days)
Planned delivery time: 10 days (calendar days)
Purchasing dept processing time: 2 days (working days)
For the material to be available on the date it is needed, the purchase
requisition must be released on 13.09.2007 (requirement date less GR
processing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department
processing time).

• External purchase order release date is not calculated

In our live system, when creating external purchase orders from tasks within work orders, system does not calculate the release date of purchase order as explained in the documentation (planned delivery date - planned delivery time). Strangely, when the calculated release date does not lie within the current year release date is assigned to the creation date. When calculated release date lies within the same year, correct release date is assigned to the PO.
Althogh our development and productive systems have exactly the same patch level, we do not experience this behaviour on our development system. This makes me think that the problem is due to system-dependent setting or some master data such as factory calendar.
How could we correct the problem? Thanks in advance.

We don't have a release strategy for PReq.
On the Preq Item -> quantites/ dates tab there are 3 dates: delivery date, request date and release date. In MRP process, the release date is calculated by the sytem based on planned delivery time and GR processing time. The PReq should be changeable by MRP up to the release date. On the release date the system should transfer PReq to SRM and mark the PReqs
as u2018firmedu2019 u2013 not changeable. This is a SAP standard process. Worked well with EPRTRANS.
BADI ME_REQ_SOURCING_CUST imethod CHECK_EXTERNAL_SOURCE is already implemented. The BADI controls what requirements to send to SRM.
We tried putting a check for Release date like: if release date is = < than system date , send PReq to SRM:
if is_req_item-FRGDT le sy-datum.
cv_ext_sourcing = cl_mmpur_constants=>yes.
It does stop new PReqs with release date in future from coming to SRM. However, the BADI is not retriggered for the same PReq when the release date reached.
Can you please guide me through the implementation steps? If it possible to retrigger the PI message via a scheduled process?
Thank you

• Release dates in PR

Hi Everyone
Can some one give me a detailed explaination on how the release date in calculated in a Purchase Requisition. I know that the Release date depends on the Planned Delivery time, GR processing time, Purchasing department processing time.
I want to know the diffference in the calculation of the Delivery date and the Release date in the Purchase Requisition.
Say for example in a PR for 'X' material
The Planned Delivery time for this material is 15 Days
The GR processing time is 5 Days and
The Purchasing Department Processing time is 5 Days
Now the system proposed the
Request date as 11.10.07
Release Date as 11.10.07
Delivery Date as 02.11.07
For another material 'Y' with
Planned Delivery time - 45 Days
GR processing time is 5 Days and
Purchasing Department Processing time is 5 Days
Now for this material
The system proposed
Request Date as 11.10.07
Release Date as 12.10.07
Delivery Date as 3.12.07
Can some one explain why there is a difference in the Release dates
Points will be rewarded
Thank you
kavitha

Hi Kavitha
pls confirm whether PR is released through indivisual release or overall release
as in indivisual release u can release PR line items indivusualy e.g if pr contains two line items u can release one by one line items and release date is captured after that
Release date is nothing but that on which date line item is released( In case of PR )and calculated as Release date=requirement date -GR processing time- planned delivery time - purchasing department processing time.
Reward if usefull

• Wrong Release date in Purchase requisition wh later than requisition date

Hi,
Purchase requisition created through Planned order then Source (contract) is assinged through Transaction ME57.
After that in display of PR as found below mentioned below,
Release date is 27.11.2008 and Requisition date is 04.12.2008. MRP type maintained in Material is Auto Reorder point.
Checked In display changes of PR as Planned delivery time new value is 45 (45 maintained in Contract and contract assigned in source list) and old value is 0 (Material master-MRP 2 view) on 04.12.2008.
My question is How come PR release date as past as 27.11.2008 when requisition (PR creation date) date is 04.12.2008. Suggest any setting required to check.
Looking forward to your expeditious response.
Regards,
C. Sundar Rajan

Hi,
If I guess, there is an exception message "06" on the PR.
check with MDO4, if there is the exception message 06 that means :
In order to get material at requested time you have to release the PR in the past. This message help the purchaser to detect the problem and try to reduce to lead time by calling the supplier.
PR release date = Requested date - safety time- lead time - setup time - processign time- ....
If you want to change the system behaviour you have to change to chage the item strategy ont the:
MRP3/Planning/Strategy group.
best regards

• PR Release date in TAB Quantity/Dates

Hi Experts ,
When i am creating a PR then In the TAB>Quantity/Dates the release date is coming same as the delivery date .
As per my opinion it by default should be same as the PR requested date .and when it release by( me54 or me55) .then it will update as the dated on which we are releasing the PR.
Please Suggest
Varun Bisaria

Hi Varun,
The field 'release date' is a bit confusing. It has nothing to do with
the date you perform the release strategy (transaction ME54 or ME55).
The help on the field tells you more about it.
The release date does not mean PR release approval date.
In PR table/EBAN-FRGKZ or ME53 screen you can find the 'release date',
then press F1 -> purchase requisition release date which means for the
material to be available on the date it is needed the PR must be release
on xx.xx.xx (date) (that's requirement date less GR proessing time, GR
proessing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department
processing time).
In ME53 screen -> item detail -> MRP data block (include release date.)
click 'statistics' icon -> administrative data (include release ind. and
rel. strategy).
In ME5A -> press F1 on 'release date' of initial screen which have same
explain for this field.
There is no actual PR release date field in EBAN, so in PR display,
we can not see "actual PR release date".

• Release Date in Future for PR

When MRP is run for MIN MAX Items the Release date in the PR shows the future date
suppose if PR is created thru MRP today its release date is shown in future some 2-3 days in future.
the release date shub be same when PR is created for Min Max items when MRP is run.
why it is so ????

Hi ABhishek
Release date is the date on which procurement should have started acting on the PR i.e by this date PR should be released (approved) and handed over to purchasing dept for necessary action. It is based on the lead times of the material and delivery date.
The F1 help for this field is very good. Pl go through it once.
Example:
Date required: 01.Oct.96
GR processing time: 2 days (working days)
Planned delivery time: 10 days (calendar days)
Purchasing dept processing time: 2 days (working days)
For the material to be available on the date it is needed, the purchase requisition must be released on 11.Sept.96 (requirement date less GR processing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department processing time).
Best regards

• Dell OMSA ViB Release Date for vSphere 6.0

Hi,
is there any information on release dates for vsphere vib's for vSphere 6 (OMSA 7.4.1 / 8.0.1 / 8.0.2)
apart from that... will OMSA 8 be continued in two different development branches for T430/R430/T530/R530/M630... and T630/R630/R730/R730xd or will there be a future single release for all 13G serversystems.
kind regards
Torsten

Toki76,
The Dell Customized ESXi 6.0 ISO was just released 2 days ago. So I would assume, from past experience, that the VIB is going to be released very shortly behind it., but as of right now I don't see it released. I can research to see if I can narrow the delivery date though, and let you know.
In regards to OMSA 8, likely it will be a single version that encompassed both branches.
