Release date of 5G iPod in UK Apple Stores...

Does anyone know when the 5G iPod will be released in Apple Stores in the UK? I want to go to the Birmingham Apple Store to purchase mine (Black 30GB) rather than use the internet.
Any idea?
Thanks!

Thanks for the replies everyone, especially the last one: I had absolutely no idea one could reserve iPods at a store! Fantastic!
One white (no black remaining) 30GB iPod will be mine as soon as my NUS card arrives (The first arrived with S Harron, not S Harrow... how thick can your get!?)
Again, thanks everyone.
A soon to be £200.93 poorer,

the screen of my ipod cracked so will i be able to get a new one but i left my ipod in the locker and my mom is planning to go tomorrow without the ipod to the apple store but we still got the case of the ipod from the first day we cant find the receit though

    1) you can get a replacement one, though you might have to pay the out of warranty price for the device (normal iPod touch 4th gen 8g = $99)
    2) If you don't have the iPod itself, its is highly unlikely they'll replace it since you won't be handing the original over (since its in your locker)

  • I brought my first generation Ipod to an apple store today and was informed that the batteries are no longer available??

I brought my 1st Gen Ipod to an Apple Store today and was informed that batteries for this unit are no longer available. I find this totally unacceptable.
Is there anyway that I can have the battery for this unit replaced?
    Please advise

There are still several third party service centers out there who offer replacement services for the battery.  Google for "iPod battery replacement."
Better yet, see if your 1G iPod Nano qualifes under Apple's 1G Nano recall regarding a batch of nanos shipped with bad batteries.  See this article for more details.

  • Bought iPod on the apple store but the wrong address not yet dispatched

    Hi,
I bought an iPod on the apple store online and checked everything before submitting the order. However when I got the conformation email the delivery address is not what was set. Now apple have all their offices closed today (typical), is there any way of contacting apple in regards to this matter as I do not want the order to be processed as if it does then there is nothing they can do IIRC.

I think your goal is to speak to a person. So I would call 1-800-myapple and select the option to get a sales person, not a service person. +Service for an existing order+ may be closed on the weekend, but I can't believe they would be closed over the weekend for a +new sale+. That would be like closing the local physical Apple Store on weekends.

  • How much would it cost to get a new ipod if i were to bring my ipod to the apple store?

How much would it cost to get a new ipod if i were to bring my ipod to the apple store?

Apple does not have a trade-in program. They do have a recycling for credit program, but you are likely to get more for it if you sell it yourself.

I broke my iPod 5 screen last week, the whole screen is cracked. The front camera is kinda broken. The back of the iPod is pefectly fine and the home button is fine too. I got my iPod like a year and half ago, so the warrant is over. People said Apple doesnt repair devices, they exchange for it.I dont think u can exchange my iPod. I got my iPod from a Apple store. Can Apple fix my iPod?, how much will it cost? Respond ASAP. Or name some places to repair it?

Really.  You cannot exchange a 32 gb for a 16 gb at all.
    Sorry.
The Canada Proce happens to be $149.  You can look this up yourself.

  • Did i miss the actually release date of the iPod touch 5th Gen?

Did they announce a specific date or only in October?

    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19855678#19855678
Because other online stores say they are due Oct 15, Apple would surely release them at least a week before that. Hopefully they are relased this week. You may have noticed that if you go to buy an iPod touch 5 from the online apple store, the status has gone from "pre-prder" to "buy now."

  • What happens when you take your iPod into the apple store for battery replacement?

I am taking mine in tomorrow. How do they decide if your battery is bad enough to get the iPod/battery replaced? What do they do with your iPod? Do they mess with the apps and data?? Do they search your history to see what you've done on it? HELP!

By reading the following, Apple exchanges your iPod for a refurbished (includes new battery) iPod. Data is no preserved/restore to the replacement
Apple - Support - iPod - Service FAQ
Will the data on my iPod be preserved?
No. You will receive a replacement iPod that will not contain any of your data, songs, or after-market personalizations. Before you submit your iPod for service, it is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the data stored on your iPod and reinstall that data.
Attention iPod touch customers: Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPod touch and does not offer any data transfer service.
Following service your replacement iPod touch may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need to restore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check iTunes to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.
However, I have heard in this forum that sometimes Apple will just replace the battery.
If you are concerned I would do one fine sync/backup and then go to Settings>General>Reset>Ease aall content and settings.

  • If you trade in a cracked iPod at the Apple store do they give you a refurbished one?,  in a cracked iPod at the Apple store do they give you a refurbished one?

Basically just what the question says. Only reason I want to know is because I have had 4 iPod touches. All 4th gen. My original one got cracked but I traded it in for a new one. That ones battery died within 5 minutes of usage. I took that one to the Apple Store and they gave me another one. This one won't charge and dies very quickly. Those are the reasons I suspect that it is refurbished and want to know.

They have the option to give you a refurbished iPod.  The refurbished iPod includes a new battery and new back at least.

  • My new iPod Classic will not sync with my new Mac Book. My iPhone 5 does, so does 2nd gen. iPod touch. Apple Store cannot figure it out. Tried different Classics on different Macs, same thing. iTunes update issue ?

The iPod Classic I bought a month ago is not synching with my new Mac Book I bought 3 weeks ago. All the software was immediately updated. My iPhone 5 synchs fine, and so does my 2nd generaton iPod Touch. The original computer I synched all of these devices on was my HP latop. I bought my Mac and Classic to the Apple Store for a 'Genius Appt' and they could not figure out what the problem is. The connected my Classic to another computer and the same thing happens. It says device is not recognized. They also took other iPod Classics and connected them to my Mac and other Macs. The same thing was happening. They took notes and said it probably is an iTunes update issue.
I can manually drag songs into my Classic but I lost all playlists because it cannot be backed up as well and they had to restore it. For now I am holding on to it but it's usless to me if I cannot use it the way I liked too. I used it for the gym and bike riding and my last iPod battery died after 6 years. A charge would last 45 miutes. I love the Classic for what I use it for but it's a $275 brick to me now. At least the renewed by receipt so I can get a full refund.
Is anyone else seeing this issue ? The Apple Store employee said he saw a first generation iPad havng the same issue. As of now the Support Dest is unaware of this. As much as I love my new Mac I am disappointed I cannot sync my new Classic to it. Total bummer.
    Any help would be apprecated.

By the way, I totally restored everything. It was ok. It starts to 'unrecognize' my iPod Classic when it comes to synching with iPhoto. After this happened all the menus disappeared from my iPod (music, Podcasts, movies synched fine). It seems to be a problem when synching with iPhoto. It was the same thing before.

  • I bought the Garmin USA app for $50.. it is useless as out of date for my area. The apple store said go to Garmin. Garmin said fgo to the app store.. I clicked not satisfied on my receipt and it sent me to Garmin!!! They said it was apple to deal with

I bought the Garmin app for $50 as the maps on my garmin in my car are not current. I thought this would avoid the need to travel with 2 devices. However, the maps are hopelessly out of date for where I live with roads and roundabouts that have been there for more than a year not on the maps. I went to the apple store to ask them what to do. they said contact Garmin. I did and they said it was only apple who could give me the refund. So I found the receipt and clicked on "do you have a problem with this app" and was redirected to Garmin. I called them( I was on hold a long time) and they said I would need to get the refund from apple.... but I can't find a way to do this. If the app had been 99 cents that would have been OK.. I've bought a few duds , but $49.99!!!
How can I get to contact apple store/ App store directly to get the refund.. this has been going on for weeks with me getting the run around from Garmin and apple. PS don't buy this app!!!!

Garmin is sending you to Apple because it is Apple that would have to give you a refund as the actual point of sale.  However, Apple states all sales are final.
Apple is sending you to Garmin because it is Garmin's fault their maps are out of date and Apple doesn't write the software.  They may not even be looking that deeply and simply perceiving it as a programming "bug" it is up to Garmin to solve.
Who know whose fault it is that Garmin isn't getting up to date data to put in their maps.
Ultimately I think you stand the best chance in getting a refund from Apple though it isn't guaranteed.  Apple is the cashier.  You just have to convince them this isn't just a line of code omitted from an application and isn't something that will be soon corrected by Garmin.  Make it clear it isn't a problem with the application running on your device, it is a problem with the data it contains.  Either that or you have to hope Garmin will feel so bad about it they will delve down into their slush fund and send you a refund.

  • Is it possible to get receipt for ipod bought at Apple Store

Several months ago, my wife bought as a present an iPod and Logitech mm50 speakers at an Apple Store in the Mall nearby. Unfortunately, the receipt is long gone, if she even had one. Is it possible to get a receipt from the Apple store, if I (or wife) can determine when it was bought? I'm concerned about problems with the mm50 and will need proof of purchase in order to have Logitech to repair this under warranty. Thanks.

Thanks for answering, but getting through to the actual store is next to impossible. Only 6 months left on the original warranty and the logitech system is still working fine.
