Release date of Zen Micro 4GB/6

Does anyone know what the projected release date of the Zen Micro 4GB/6GB is going to be?Message Edited by the_j0hn on 03-0-2005 09:33 PM

No, it has not been announced, but if it takes as long as it did for the remote, about a month. (the same pre-order deal)

  • Creative Zen Micro 4GB isn't recognized on my PC

    Hello,
I bought a Creative Zen Micro 4GB?couple of years ago (3-4 years ago) and lost it year ago. I found it now and wanted to start using it but I have a problem. I bought a new laptop which is Vista and my pc doesn't recognize the player when I plug it in. It recognizes it and the bubble comes up at the tray, but it doesnt recognize it and says it can't find the driver and that I need to install the driver. However, since my pc can't recognize it, I can't install a driver or do anything with it since it isn't recognized by my pc. I read lots of posts and solutions to them, but none of them help my problem. In the device manager, it is apperead with a yellow explanation mark but I can't reinstall the driver. I also tried the cleanup and reboot but that also didn't work. Can anyone help me? (I also tried this on my old pc which has XP but it had the same problem.) My Pc is Windows Vist 32-Bit Operating System and Service Pack . By the way, when i plug in my zen micro, the window comes saying 'found new hardware' and I am suposed to locate a place for the dri've and it says i should insert the disc that came with it. However, when i insert it nothing happens and in the end it says it failed. I really need urgent help. Thank you in advance already.

You mentioned that you cannot tune the radio for youself. You can do so however. Just go to the FM Radio and press the play/pause button. The 'Preset

  • Zen micro 4GB battery l

    hi,
just bought a zen micro 4gb a week ago. using usb to charge it since I didn't realize the unit didn't ship with a charger. only getting about 4 hours on a full-charge. any body else experiencing this or is my battery defecti've? thanks.

    Kero35 wrote:I didn't know the 4gb shipped without a charger. thats rediculous!
No Micro ships with a mains adapter now. This was part of a price cut that was pretty obviously designed to compete with iPod (who also dropped mains adapters from the package).

  • Release date for Zen Neeon in

    Hello,
I'm considering my first MP3 player. Had a mini disk up till now still in fine working order, but I'm getting sucked into the idea of cute wee players holding my entire record collection (or at least the ones I still want to listen to!) I really like the look of the Zen Neeon, with it's line in recording, and recording off radio. I don't imagine the voice recording bit will be up to recording my guitar playing as I do with my mini disk but I'm hoping I'll be able to at least transfer songs from mini disk and Home Studio onto it. haven't decided whether the 2 mb flash player or the 5gb hard dri've but in anycase it's not out in the shops yet. Anyone know what the release date is?
    Feepster

I would guess at this point it's unlikely the Neeon will be sold directly in Europe. You might find it on eBay if you are desperate, but you are very unlikely to have any form of warranty. The Neeon isn't getting rave reviews though it seems.

  • Zen Micro 4GB - USB Device not recogni

I've always had a hard time trying to get my computer to recognize my mp3 player. I'd have to connect it multiple times in order to get my computer to see it. Now it just doesn't work at all. I've reinstalled the mass-storage device driver a few times, as well as the zen micro drivers that came on the CD and from the site. I've tried with default firmware and I've updated the firmware. None of this works. I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I'm almost positi've it's not my USB settings as my external hard dri've works fine when I have the mp3 player disconnected. Whenever I connect the player everything messes up and isn't recognized. By itself the player actually freezes and I have to take out the battery for it to reset itself.
    Windows XP
PCI to USB2.0 card (i've tried reinstalling this many times as well).
Any help would be great. Thanks

vacantmind: You might also want to make sure that you get the latest drivers and software as follows:
. Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
    2. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
    3. Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource
Install . then connect the player to the PC. Then install 2. and 3. (the player must be connected for 2. to verify you have a Creative product).
Also an important test is to install the drivers and software on another PC, say a friend's, and see whether you have the problem. If you don't, then the issue is with your PC, or a compatibility issue with the player. If you do, then there's something wrong with the cable or player.

  • Creative Zen Micro 4GB - battery problem?

    Hi there,
I try charging my MP3 player via USB cable from my laptop. I see the small battery symbol with the charge symbol within it. It is not flashing. I don't have my installation CD anymore and this laptop is a new one that I haven't charged from before. I cannot get my player charged - what can I do?
    Many thanks,
    Steve

Batteries last about 3yrs. How old is the player's battery? Is it recognized by the computer? What firmware version is on the player? Is the laptop Vista or XP ? You can purchase a wall charger so the device is not dependent on the computer for charging. This is the best price I have found on a real one(Creative) for the Micro also works for the Zen,ZenV, X-FI.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...em=30030054696

  • Creative Zen Micro 4GB - Headphone jack & transferring probl

I haven't updated my firmware since I got the player in May (out of the box firmware update? Go away).
My headphone jack is loose. I'll often only have music in one ear, especially if I'm walking or sitting down and have the player in my pocket or bag. I've started carrying my discman because I don't like pulling out my $300 mp3 player every couple of minutes. Is that the infamous solder problem?
Also, my computer no longer recognizes the player. My sister had the problem a little while ago (same player, newer firmware because she got hers a month ago), and we reinstalled the drivers and everything is cool. Mine still doesn't work.

samaxnthah wrote:Is that the infamous solder problem?
    Sounds like it.

What firmware do you have on your player?
Have you run a disk cleanup from rescue mode?
When you connect the player is it listed in Device Manager?

  • My Zen Micro 4gb's sound is not work

Whenver i turn it on the sound is all fuzzy. I have to tap the headphone plug to get a least a noise in them. The sound varies from nothing, to distant-sounding, to very loud, to muffled. I either have to sueeze the plug or hold it whenever i listen to it.

Mine just started doing the same thing. I bought new headphones, thinking it was the headphones going out but the problem continued.
The sound ranges from "sounds like mono" to "far away and distant" sounds. In only a few places can I get good sound. Any fixed?

  • ZEN MICRO CONNECTION DETECTION & FIRMWARE PROBLEM! Please help

Last night i installed the new 'plays for sure' firmware for my creative zen micro 4gb. I have windows media player 0 and my system is running service pack 2 by the way.
The firmware installed fine and i went on media player to transfer all my music back onto the player.
This took ages! But it said it was on there ok.
Just to be sure i went into the E dri've- for the first time the player had registered there so i could check everythign went on ok.
All the music was there just fine.
I disconnected it from the PC and turned it on... and it's completely empty! I went to information in the player to check that what i was seeing was true and the player just crashed. The only way to turn it off was to remove the battery.
I have reinstalled the driver and reconnected the player and windows xp does the noise to let me know the player is connected... but it isnt being detected by media player and it doesnt come up in My Computer.
Please help asap!!! Sorry this is a long post!!!

This is the odd part. If you copied to the E dri've you must have copied to the USB mass storage area of the player (the player can be configured with up to 4Gb of USB mass storage that's ONLY for data files). The player should appear as a device in Windows Explorer for the audio part, so copy the files to that, NOT to the E dri've.

  • Zen Micro Photo gets a boost

    ...8GB @ $249 coming this September / October:
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,895,847705,00.asp
This will give the YPod Mini 6GB a major run for the money. Looks like Creative is starting to get a bit more serious (and adult) about fighting the DAP Wars.

i reckon the zen micro is gonna get a major price cut after the released of the zen micro photo.
Ya, i was thinking the same thing. I was saying to myself, hey, i should get a micro once they go down in price. but then i realized i'd want the photo capabilities and would want the 8GB photo version.
I guess its a good thing. people can get a nice photo micro. and people can get a cheaper normal micro.

  • Scared about Zen micro

ok, just bought a new zen micro 4gb player...im at work now, and "he" is actually at home charging at my home pc.....
    so,
st: is it bad that he?s at home (alone, snif snif) charging for 0 hours?
2nd: Everyone on this forum apparently have problems with the player, so....i guess i made a bad choice? low batery life......etc etc etc...
sinf snif snif...(but he?s very beautifull!)

You should of bought a Zen MicroPhoto instead of the old model, it fixed the few things that were bad about the Zen Micro and you have double memory! Not all the Micros are defecti've though, you might be the lucky owner of a perfect one. GL !

  • Help with setup of three Zen Micros on the same compu

I have a Zen Micro 4GB setup and working great on our desktop computer. I have the Creative Media Source v3.0.9 and Zen Micro Media Explorer v4.00.22 software installed. I purchased two Zen Micro 6GBs at Christmas for my kids. I have been through the manual and these forums, but no help on how to setup the two new Zen Micros to work with the existing software. The new Zens do show the popup "Creative Media Device Detected", and I can see the new Zens in Windows Explorer. The new Zens do not show up in the Zen Micro Media Explorer. Do I have to install the Zen software for each of the three Zens? If not, any ideas? Thanks

It appears that you may have both PlaysForSure Zen Micro and non-PlaysForSure Zen Micro. As such, you should install both plugins for MediaSource. A newer version of MediaSource is also available to you.
Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.

  • Zen Micro not getting powered

New Zen Micro 4GB Player. (2 days old)
Was working fine and now suddenly, it's not getting powered on.
Battery had enough power before it became dead.
Looking for some help on this issue.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Thanks.
Your suggestion brought my Zen Micro back to Life. I was really happy but it didn't last long. Because the touchpad seems to evoke no action on the player. I can perform the functions (like playing a song) through the Creative Software suite while being connected to the PC. Once disconnected from the PC, Zen Micro goes dead, though the the battery is adequately charged (for about three hours). Still could not power on using the touch pad power on option.
    Awaiting your suggestion..
