Release demand to SNP - Strange requirement

Hi,
We have some strange requirement during release demand from DP to SNP.
We use demand planning system to plan future demands and release to SNP for supply planning. And we use TDP ( 10 days, a posting period) as storage bucket profile in DP and 9ASNP in SNP.
Now the requirement is to release demand of 1 TDP to SNP on one fixed day.
For example, my TDP is 1 - 10 (dates) and demand is 100 tons. I want to release total demand on only 5th i.e. on 5th my demand should be 100 tons and remaining all days it should be 0 tons.
Like that we need to release for every TDP demand into one day in that TDP.
The issue here is DP will have information of demand daily wise and hence am not able to release total demand on a fixed day.
I have referred some user exits for doing this, but not able to figure it out whether it will fulfill my requirement or not (Infact i could not able understand the purpose of the user exits). Can anyone please tell me, the user exits which can be used in demand release to SNP and how those will work???
Also can anyone please let me know how i can proceed on this requirement?
Will defenitely appreciate your answer by rewarding the points.
Thanks & Regards,
Jagadeesh.

  • Difference in the Demand and the Released Demand to SNP for the month M0

    Hi evryone,
I have released the demand from DP to SNP of a market on 03.02.2010 .
Demand of M0 there is difference between the Forecast of the user and the demand released to the SNP.
For rest of the months the demand Forecasted by the user and the demand released to the SNP is matching.
I hope this difference is because I had released the demand on 03.02.2010, so the demand of the 01.02.2010 & 02.02.2010
was not released to SNP. This is my guess only.
Please tell me whether I am correct or not ?
If I am wrong, please tell me the reasons for the difference in the month M0.
    with regards,
    balu

    Hi Balu ,
If your forecast is released on 03022010 and you have a setting for period split as 2, then your understanding is correct .
The M0 demand /forecast volume will be reduced by the qty of deliveries you made on 01 & 02022010 due to the requirement stateliest and forecast consumption process which is a std functionality.
So please check if diff in original demand and released demand is same as of invoiced qty .. this will ensure your understanding.
Also other factor that could affect the SNP released demand qty is 'Backward/Forward consumption period' in material master/product master. This is the period for forecast consumption and the direction depends on the defined consumption mode-
so in future you could have a scenario that you have maintained forward consumption as ex. 60 days and there is no forecast in M0 but have some excess deliveries on 01M02010 and then the next months forecast will be consumed by that excess qty of delivery in M0 2010 and you would get diff volume in M12010 month.
    Hope this clears the doubt...

  • Releasing demand plan from DP into custom categories in SNP.

    Hi Gurus,
I need to release the demand plan from DP into SNP custom categories Z1 thru Z4. The key figures that I mapped to these custom categories are created in a non-standard planning area (copied from 9ASNP02).
I am able to release the demand plan using category FA only. Can anyone help me in releasing demand plan into these custom categories in SNP.
    Thanks,
    Shiv.

    Shiv
I did a F1 help on target category  field in tcode /n/sapapo/mc90 and this is what i found
For the release of the demand plan to Supply Network Planning, you can specify a category that tells the system which category of orders to release to. An entry in this field is optional, but if you do enter a category it must be a category that represents sales orders or forecasts, such as FA or FB.
You can also release to categories you have created yourself. This allows you to distinguish, for example, between different forecast priorities.
    The system proceeds as follows:
    1. Has a category been entered in the release profile? If yes, this category is used.
    2. If no, has a category been set in the definition of the requirements strategy in Customizing? (You define the product's strategy in the Proposed strategy field on the Demand tab of the product master record.) If yes, this category is used.
    3. If no, category FA (forecasts) is used.
So as the F1 help says in the release transaction /n/sapapo/mc90  did you try giving the custom categories ? Also i have one more idea - after the forecast gets released to category FA , copy it to a key figure that is assigned custom cateogries Z1 to Z4.
But just want to understand something . Why do you want to release it to a custom cateory instead of FA ? How are you going to handle the consumption of forecasts by sales orders if you release it to custom category. I think releasing it to a custom category will make your process more complicated since you are altering the standard SAP functionality.
    Thanks

  • Release Demand Planning to Supply Network Planning

    1. /SAPAPO/MC90 - Release Demand Planning to Supply Network Planning
In the above t.code i am not able to change the target planning area- it has greyed out
    2. I need thisto be changed becuase i have defined my own snp planning area.
any clues how to do this >
    reg
    dsk

    hi dsk
Dont worry about the greyed out target planning area in the "release :extended" option. It is the default. In general if you release the forecast from a demand planning book , it means that you are releasing the foreacast values from the time series live cache to order live cache. That is the forecast value which was just a quantity value in the time series live cache will now be associated to a specific category.
Once you release the forecast from DP to SNP you should be able to see the forecast value in all the SNP planning books that have forecast key figure. The forecast is not released to a specific planning book, it is released to the order network and will be available to view in all SNP planning books. So just go ahead and execute MC90 . After that you can make sure if the values are reflecting in SNP by going to /n/sapapo/rrp3 and checking the material . You should be able to see values under cateogry "FC Req". After this you can try loading the material in planning book and u must be able to view the results.

  • Difference between Release DP to SNP and Release profile

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between Release DP to SNP
And maintain Release profile. Can u suggest am lot of confusion about these?
    Explain in brief.
    prasad

    Hi Prasad,
Aparna point is absolutely correct. From usage point of view, date is the only difference.
There are 2 options to release forecast from DP to SNP.
    1. Demand Planning -> Planning  -> Release -> Release to Supply Network Planning.
    2. By creating Rlease profile, activity , planning job, etc
1 is used for online purpose & for few product/location combinations. However 2 is used for the mass processing.
Use 1 to release a limited amount of data (a few product / location combinations only) from Demand Planning to Supply Network Planning. Do not use it for mass releases, for example large planning books.
If you try to release too much data with this transaction, memory problems are likely, since the system tries to read all the data
simultaneously. For mass processing, use 2 - Releasing the Demand Plan with Mass Processing.
Decision is based on data volume & performance.
    Hope this helps.

    Nawanit

  • File adapter..strange requirement..is it possible in XI?

    Hi Guys,
I have searched sdn a lot..but have nt seen this kinda requirement before..
sender fie adapter files will be compare two files in a prticular folder  by say field1 and the differences between the two files is 'x'. If the delta > 30% of the total ,and the date difference between the 2 files is less than 3 days then the new file will be treated as incorrect and  then correct one will be procseeed...
    Is thi possible in XI?...
Pls throw in ur thoughts on this
    Regards

    Ibrahim,
Yes it is a strange requirement. Well we can compare the files in java. See this code:
    http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/java-program-compare-two-text-files/
It compares and gives the difference in between the files. But since you want the percentage > 30 I dont think we can do either in java. For getting percentages probably a reporting tool can help you.
Your second option also you can achieve it in java. So if you come up with some logic which indicates the percentage then your requirement can be done using java.

  • Release results to snp or r/3

    helo sir
    good morning
    how r u??
could u plz tell in which format the planning we release to SNP OR R/3???
where the unconstrained demand pland stores in SNP, in which key figure stores the demand plan in snp???
    help me out sir....
    thanx a lot...waiting for u r response.

    Hi Dallyanusha,
Like profile is the profile containing similar set of CVC's that
will be used up by system during forecast planning.
ie  If you are having characteristic combinations that are
very much similar in properties and usage, then you can
define like profile with those CVC's.
Like Modelling is the approach or process that replaces
one set of CVC with another similar set of CVC's that are
defined in like profile during forecast planning.
    Hope it is clear now

  • How to manually enter forcast/demand in SNP Planning Book

    Hi experts,
Kindly help me there are two questions on my mind. First
    1. How to create manually forecast in SNP planning book? and also in RRP3? (if the product is in house it automatically creates planned order, if externally procured PREQ but how about forecast using product view?
    2. If the forecast is in the past but I want to upload that in the SNP Planning book?
Even if I change the period structure date it does not reflect the past dates in the planning book.  Since the planning book of SNP is standard how am I be able to change the planning book time bucket start date.
    Thanks and Best Regards!!!!

    Hi,
in /SAPAPO/SJKTST04 you set the type of order FCST, then you planning area and version, keyfigure to populate (your forecast keyfigure, probably 9ADFCST), the order type (usually FA)
In the details you set product, date to start, in horizon - the number of orders to create, if you set 10, you'll get 10 orders starting from your start date).
Unfortunately through here, you gan create orders with fixed quantity only and also for only one product/location combination.
If you already have DP available, even for testing I find it more easy to release forecast from there.
For your second question - at least for 4.1 (I don't have a 5.0 system to check) you cannot have past dates in a column other than "Initial"
    Hope that helps,
    br,
    Mikhail

  • Release demand from with different Unit of Measure

    Dear colleagues,
    I have the following issue:
    a) The material master base unit is Kilograms KG
    b) The base unit used in DP is UN
    c) In the master data exits the conversion 10 UN = 32KG
    d) If I release 7800 UN from DP to SNP, I received 7800 KG instead of 29460 Kg.
    What am I missing?
    Best Regards
    -Italo

i assume your SNP Planning area is in KG
I dont think the release forecast program checks the UoM of SNP planning area before release, It will transfer the PA base UoM.
So you can either have UN in SNP PA or you can use a internediate DP planning area with KG as UoM and then transfer to SNP (you can do this in one job just like you do normal release). If you use the same MPOS as the original DP planning area and use only the relevant KF that will be more than enough

  • Demand management split the requirements

    Hi
I wonder if anybody knows how to make a daily split for the requirements in demand management.
I have made it but the split is made only for the 5 workdays (monday to friday) but i need to be done in weekdays (monday to sunday).
I've got the restriction of not changing the calendar of the plant because it will affect the others modules of SAP.
    Wait for your answer
    Please
    The points will be waiting
    Taka care
    Francisco O.

    Hi,
Even if you split the reqirement in demand managmant system will not plan the planned order on holiday,
    To split the PIR qty
    1. goto schedule lines and select the line
    2. goto edit mode choose split per online
    3. popup will appear
    4. enter the period indicator and start and end date of the requirements period
    5. enter the qty to be split and enter the period indicator for split enter
    6. PIR qty will be split daily
    7. daily qty =Total reqmts qty / no of days
Can you try order splitting (FS) and in the takht time enter the number of in house production days (1). In the rounding value assign the quantity for the daily lot size.

  • DD_DOMA_GET" not released for 'remote' calls : Advice required

    Hi,
This is one of the common messages that I(and many SDN'ers) received when I tried to deploy my application in WAS SP12.
I read the messages and it was quite obvious, that DD_DOMA_GET needs to be RFC enabled and this would work fine.
However, I also noticed a colleague of mine who could deploy applications without receiving this error. He has a model in his program and he tries to execute the function module as well in his Web Dynpro program and had absolutely no issues.
When I tried, I received the above error, constantly. I compared his program and mine and found a subtle difference. The view controller - context attributes were structurally bound in my case, and in his case, he used standard types as string, boolean etc... Therefore, I concluded that every time my application tries to execute, it sees a com.xx.app.type.ModelField for a view - context attribute , it uses the JCo Destination WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST and calls function module DD_DOMA_GET. It fetches the type and length of the field. In this case, DD_DOMA_GET is not RFC-enabled and therefore returns with an exception.
My question is : is this workaround i.e. to not use structure binding for context attributes of a view and use simple fields like string, boolean etc. beneficial ? What are the drawbacks of this workaround ?
    Best Regards,
    Subramanian V.

Good point, Valery and what you assume is also right. We used a particular SAP System where DD_DOMA_GET was RFC-enabled and then changed JCo destinations.
I am not clear with your second point and in relation with my question in particular.
The two points that I made in my first and second post(I should have made them in the same post, sorry about that) are required to not get that error.
    a) <b>Type</b> of View->Context->Value Attribute should not refer to model(for e.g. com.aq.model.types.xubname) , especially when there is a UI Element binding
    b) Custom Controller should be bound to model and not component controller
I am not even fully sure if there are any other preconditions to avoid the DD_DOMA_GET error, but I tested with the above 2 points and my program also gets executed properly.
    From your point:
<i>Next, using Adaptive RFC model in described manner is almost the same as using SAP Enterprise Connector instead while any dictionary-related functionality is not used (see
Re: Poll : SAP Enterprise Connector , second item in list)</i>
I understand that, if I follow points (a) and (b) as mentioned above, I am "almost" using the concept of Enterprise Connector, except for dictionary usage.
What intrigues me is why the distinction between component and custom controller(for failure - DD_DOMA_GET) and more importantly, the method that we are currently using, is it safe ?
    Best Regards,
    Subramanian V.

  • Strange Requirement + Multiple datastructure+single fmb

    Hi Friends,
Here I got a new confusing requirement
Here we have seveal branches at several countires.
Initially all branches has the same fmbs and same table structures.
But eventually, according to meet the diff. requirement in each sites, new columns has been added in several tables.
The problem is the newly added columns are not updated in all the sites which resulted in a different versions of fmbs. and rdf.s need to be maintained.
New management is planning to synchonize this, but it will take time and not sure when it will happen.
This was introduction to my problem. Now the requirement came...
I need to develop a query screen for a transaction screen. That too only single fmb for all the sites ,
that too with all the columns need to be displayed that are now present in those sites.
I gathered all the columns from all the sites and postioned in the fmb .
I made visible false to all those items which is not present in the connected user using user_tab_columns table. Now my fmb looks fine.
I cannot query the form as none of the site contains all the columns.
Now how will i make the form querable in all the sites....????
    Thanks in Advance

    Dora
Create the view with all possible columns. Probably a union all for all countries. Base the form on the view with all needed columns displayed. For columns that are not available you just select <null>
Now your form will compile against all environments.
Next issue: How can I hide all columns that are not applicable for a certain country.
In the pre-form you can hide the not needed columns based on the all_tab_columns datadictionary view. Compare the column names in the view with the column name in the corresponding table

  • Releasing the Demand Plan to SNP

    Dears,
I need more illustration when you using Transaction Code /SAPAPO/MC90 to release demand to SNP
    APO Help Say :-
"independent requirements is not restricted to planning in SCM SNP. Planned independent requirements within the production horizon are planned in production planning and detailed scheduling in SCM PP/DS."
What he means by data will be  available n PP/DS?
Did APO System Generate Capacity Requirement? is that what he means ?
    Regards
    Rami

    Rami
There are two horizons in the product master  - SNP production horizon and SNP stock transfer horizon.  In your company if you are using both SNP and PP/DS then after the forecast is released to SNP, you will execute SNP and then for the short term you will execute PP/DS.
In such a scenario (where SNP is used for mid term planning and pp/ds for the short term) , you need to maintain the SNP production horizon (in case of inhouse production) and stock trans horizon(for external procurement / branch to branch transfers)  to define the boundary between sNP and PP/Ds. that is you need to specify till what day /week /month you need PP/DDS plan and for what time frame you need SNP plan.  The SNP production / stk trans horizon is the horizon during which SNP will not generate any plan. That is if your stk trans horizon is say 10 days , then SNP will not genearate any supply within this 10 days even if there is demand . Supply will be generated for the next 10 days only by PP/DS.  SNP will generate supply only outside the production /stock transfer horizon.
As specified by SAP , your planned independent requirement is thus not restricted to SNP. That is if the demand is within the prod / stk trans horizon it is fulfilled by the pp/ds run and demands outside the horizon are planned by sNP

  • Release Profile

    HI All,
    1) What is the difference between
'Release profile' and 'Release to SNP' Tcode /SAPAPO/MC90
    2) Is there any way i can release the demand directly to PPDS from DP?
    Thanks,
    Santhana.

    Hi,
You use release profile in case you want to release the job in the background and MC90 is a interactive transaction. I guess the main difference is with the time horizon. In release profile, you have no where to define the release horizon all the demand in the specified planning book time bucket profile is released. Wher as in MC90, you can specify your own horizon.
The forecast in DP once released to Livecache makes no difference being in SNP or PPDS except that PPDS supports descriptive characteristics.
So, releasing demand from SNP and PPDS is same and really speaking it's released from Live cache order series to SP time series.
You can use the transaction /sapapo/lcout for this.

  • Release of demand to PPDS directly skiping SNP

    Dear Experts ,
I am planning to use demand planning and PPDS
I created a demand plan and i want to send directly to PPDS , but there is not any tcode to sent demand directly to PPDS like
    Release to SNP like MC90
    Please advise
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
Same Transaction /sapapo/mc90 should be use to release demand to PPDS as well. You have specify relevant category like FA or FC. This will get recognized by PPDS.

    Vaibhav
