The reason could be as follow:
- There might be more than one level for release procedure
- There might be some line items which has not been affacted by release process.
Check out the transaction ME53N to check release status for Purchase requisition.

AmChart Vs Flex Professional

Hi,
Iam already using Flex's Standard edition and planning to move to professional.The basic idea for this move is I want to create realistic dynamic graphs/charts in my application using either CSV or XML.I happen to go through AmCharts(http://extra.amcharts.com/editor/line/).After going through this site I find my Amcharts graphs are more close to my requirements.Can any one help me to know whether can I design same graphs as Amcharts using Flex Professional(I better know that there might not be any direct component present in Amchart).

Flex and Flash LocalConnection

Im currently working on an interface that is flex based and
has a flash menu. Im not sure if LocalConnection is the best way to
communicate through the two... but thats what I used.
Currently the user clicks a menu button and LocalConnection
sends a string to the flex.. the flex loads a .swf based on that
string. My problem is I want the user to be able to have multiple
windows open, when the user opens more then one window theres a
error stating the connection is already open. It also displays any
menu clicks done in the second window into the first window.
Example: You press the contact us button in the second window... it
goes to the contact us page... in the first window.
Does anyone know is there any way around this?

Adobe released Flex 4.0 (code named Gumbo) and Flex 4 development environment is called Adobe Flash Builder, formerly known as Adobe Flex Builder.
so don't confuse in flex builder and flash builder..they are just different versions of the same thing.
You can read more about it in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flex .
and of course you can create a flex application on flash builder.

Using Flex 3D Charts in Flex Builder 3

Hi all,
has anyone successfully used the Flex 3D Charts library in FlexBuilder 3?
The component is at

and having trawled back there was some chatter about the library back in 2007, but few people seemed to have got it to work.
I can draw a blank chart area (ie carefully not adding a data series to the chart) but as soon as a series is added I get an error starting
Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at com.adobe.flex.extras.charts.series::Column3DSeries/describeData()[C:\perforce\depot\flex \components\FlexComponents\com\adobe\flex\extras\charts\series\Column3DSeries.as:870]
with a whole load of stack trace following on. This happens whether I use MXML or create at runtime in an AS class.
I notice that the library only claims compatribility with FB 2.0 but had hoped there would be backwards compatibility.

Precautions to be taken before going for new PR Release strategy

Dear all,
We are going to implement release strategy with classification at item level release. Current process in our company release strategy without classification at item level release was implemented and its Production for past 3 years.
Need your advice on
1)If we go for new release strategy as off with existing release strategy -what are the precautions to be taken before implementing new strategy - any problem will happen to existing data with old releases, which already release, yet to release?
2)Once after implementing the new releases, the PR with old release strategy (which is not release yet)u2026does this will trigger new release?
3)Any other which I missed out, please suggest me

Hi,
It is better to release all existing PRs using your current procedure without classificaton and clean up.
If you impliment procedure with classification, It depends on the parameters like Plant, value, purchasing group you are going to use in the strategy. Also you may decide whether to have overall req release or item level release of PR by having diffrent release groups.

Release procedure for this concept.

Dear Seniors,
1) I had set release procedure already for contract and purchase order. Whenever i do po w.r.to contract, i have to release both contract and PO to do GRN. For example, consider vendor X and Y, i have contract for these 2 vendors and i have released that contract too. When i raise PO w.r.to that contract with vendor X and Y, it should not ask for release. How could i set that and where can i do that particularly for that two vendor X and Y? For remaining vendors, it should ask for release at PO level also. kindly suggest me please.
2) Normally if we set message determination for PO, we can see print preview before release also. I would like to see the print preview after release of that PO. Before release of that PO, it should not show me the print preview. How could i set that ? Kindly suggest me please.
3) I am having 400 plants, if i want to maintain 400 sloc for those plants correspondingly. Do i need to do that manually or is there any tcode to create sloc in mass ?
Kindly clear my doubt please.

Simple way to tackel this is to create saperate document type for PO s which are created with reference to contract
Solution for 2)
Use development by using BADI in PO.
us logic check field FRGKE(release status) in EKKO.
Solution 3)
Create BDC for the extation of storage locations.

PO Multilevel Release - Value Decreased

Dear Gurus,
I'm not familiar with PO release procedure.
We have a scenario:
Release is based on the price
$5000 - $20000 release by FI
>$20000 release by FI, then release by MG
How to set it?
Currently we create 2 strategy:
FI consist of FI
MG consist of FI & MG
For value $5000 - $20000, we assign FI strategy
For value >$20000, we assign MG strategy
The case is....
1. PO created with value $25000 -> will triger release strategy MG, need FI & MG to release
2. FI release, then MG release
3. PO quantity is reduced, so that the PO value also reduce become $15000
What happening in my system is, the PO release status is reset (block), and now it use strategy FI and required FI to release it again.
By common sense, it doesn't seem right that FI had release/approve this PO earlier and now FI need to release it again.
Is there a walk around (or is the current configuration incorrect?) so that in this scenario FI no need to release it for the second time.

The behaviour you are seeing is the standard behaviour and is correct.
See Note 662993 for an explanation:
When quantities or values are decreased, the system resets the release
only if a different release strategy is determined for the lower
quantity or the lower value.
If no different release strategy is determined due to the quantity or
the value decreasing, the system retains the releases that already
exist.
This is the desired standard system behavior.
As the note also says: "This function can be changed only by a customer-specific modification.", there is no standard way
to achieve any behaviour otherwise.

Cancellation of Release Procedure for PO

Hi All,
We have configured 4 step realesed stretegy for PO. Releasing is working fine but we are facing probelm in cancellation.
In cancellation any step you can cancle at any step . But What we want if approval is done R1 >R2> R3> R4 same way cancellation would also follow R4>R3>R2>R1.
However currently system allows even R1 to allow cancel a fully released PO . When R1 cancle than all realease status R2>R3>R4 is also set to unreleased.
How to stop this and allow system to follow same hirarchy in cancellation also.

Once you create the characteristic and class.
You click on release procedure for Purchase orders.
Click on Release Groups.
enter your release group and release class.( If there is release group already add your release class to it).
Come out and click on Release Codes.
Enter your release codes for your release group. save
Come out and click on release Indicators. Enter release indicators and save.
Click on Release Strategies and Enter your release strategies and click on
There will be step by step procedure to give your amount for charectristics that u maintained.
pls follow that.

Authorization for Cancel Release

Dear Expert,
Does anyone know what is authorization object to restrict cancel release? Because now if there is 3 level release (ex: E1, E2 and E3) and status release PR already final (E3), user level E1 still can cancel release status in PR and all release status will reset even if follow up document such as PO already created for that PR.
Any solution for this??Really need ur help....

But, That checks only release code. Not the activity ( Release or Reject)

New po release strategy

hi,
i am having xxxxx class for po release strategy with 3 characteristics-(plant, po value and document type)
now i want to have only 2 characteristics with document type and PO value.
again i want to use new release codes for my new strategy, keeping the same class for release strategy.
can i define new release strategy using the new codes?, then what shall be the impact of the same on below
1. already released PO, now want to amend,(after new release strategy implimented)- what would be the effect on PO?? which release codes shall hit the same?
2. already release PO(i understand there wont be a problem in GR, as release ia already effected)
3. new PO shall catch the new strategy- no problem with the same.
for implimenting the new strategy using the same class, can i delete the old release strategy with codes or i just need to remove the value mentioned in the classification view of the release proceedure.

my point is while re-defining the release proceedure.
earlier i had 150 release strategies and arround 40-50 release codes. now only 12 release codes
i just need to get confirm, if i create a new release code and assign a new release strategy using the same class(only deleting the plant characteristics), what will happen to old po(released) for which now we are amending.
i assume i need to delete/remove all the data of old release strategy available in classification view, and keeping the release codes as it is in release pre-requisites fr old release strategy.
or just any body briefe me what are all the condition for changing the exsiting release strategy.if i need to create new release code,release strategy by using the same release class.

Unable to release IDOC segment

Hello,
I have to add a new field to an existing Z IDOC segment. There were two versions existing with the same release 620, namely 000 & 001. My current system release is also 620 To Add a new field, I "cancel release" the latest version 001 . Then added a new field.
After adding the new field if I " set release", I get a error message "A released definition already exists for '620' in Release Z1ED..."
Does anyone know how to release the IDOC segment

I Have created one Segment type with some fields, changed the field length also its working.
just try to cancel the release and change the length of the filed and do it set release again.

Problem while releasing the segment

I have added 2 new fields to the existed segment and then i am trying to release it throwing an error message 'A released defination already exist for '46C' in release ZONMORD_FEAT'.

No need ,just cancel the segment release and then add ur fields....also while attaching the segment to ur basic type,u have to first cancel the release of basic type and then add the segment and then release...Let me know if u face aby other problem
