Release forecast from DP to R/3

Hi Experts,
In DP, I have lowest periodicty is month but in R/3
What is the possible way to release forecast from DP to R/3 from Monthly to daily bucket?

Hi Sujay,
Is it possible for you release from APO DP to SAP R/3 in monthly bucket and then disaggregate in daily buckets?
There is also a BADI in APO BADI /SAPAPO/SDP RELDATA , which can be checked for your requirement,

I am facing error logs in the batch job which releases forecast from DP to SNP
Forecast release job - Weekly - Through background job
Forecast category - FA
Error 1: - Characteristic combination appears on batch job log with an error that
"GMC does not exist " Even though it exist in R/3 and APO
All products with error message "Product does not exist" from do exist and have Forecast in Product View
Error 2: - Deleted KCC keep showing up on the Demand Forecast release job log as errors even though they are invalid KCC and were deleted previously. How do they get removed from error log so they don't get created again
Material does not exist on the APO Product Master, in R3 there is a delete flag and the MRP type is set to X1 ,it does not exist in the APO Product Master and does not exist in R3.
Request you to kindly provide any way forward which may be causing error logs of the job

Hi Mrigendra,
Please re-initialize the SNP planning area (program : /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE) and then check the consistency by executing the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK. If you observe any inconsistency in the log/spool, then re-run the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK to observe all green.
It is recommended to run the consistency program after any master data change. The initialization program should be run at least weekly.
Try transfering the data again from DP to SNP to see if the error reappear.

STO does not trigger forecast consumption unless re-releasing forecasts

Hi,
We need Scheduled Agreements, Customer Orders and STOs to consume forecast. While the first two work fine, the last one (STO) shows strange behavior. When an STO is created in R/3 and CIF-ed to APO, it does not consume forecast until we release forecasts from demand planning again. It is not only the Planning book where forecasts are not consumed, but tx /n/SAPAPO/RRP3 has the same values. Or, to be correct, there are some date differences, which are strange as well, but maybe have nothing to do with the original issue.

We have a similar requirements. We have build our own business rules for plant determination. Instead of specifying a plant per customer material, the delivering plant can be specified per product or product group and per ship-to, customers region or country. Thereby the rules are time dependent.
This logic is used in R/3 in sales order creation and in BW when demand is copied to an infocube containing plant. Finally it is also used in copy management in APO.
For us it is very important to have the same business rules in planning and operations.
Up till now we could not find a better solution.

Release Of Forecast From DP To SNP (For Some Locations, Only Baseline)

Dear All,
Generally, we follow the following procedure....In the month begining, we generate the baseline forecast for all the locations (we are having around 20 branches). Then we used to open the DP planning book for a couple of days to our branch persons so that they are able to feed their correction. After which we release the final forecast i.e. Baseline Forecast +/- Branch correction to SNP for further proceesing.
This month, we opened the planning book (as usual). Branches did the branch correction. But on final checking, we found that around 4 - 5 branches have done corrections / updations very vagely i.e. roughly. So, we wants to ignore their branch correction.
My query be that is it possible that while releasing the Forecast from DP to SNP... can we release baseline forecast for selective five branches and for the rest of the branches, we wants to release final forecast key figure i.e. Baseline +/- Branch correction.
Kindly advise further.

You have not mentioned at what level you are doing the forecasting. If forecasting is done at material- branch level then what you are asking can be achieved easily. All you have to do is go to /n/sapapo/mc90 ( or create a release profile) and for the branches for which you want to release baseline forecast , you have to specify the baseline forecast keyfigure in the input and specify the material branches in the i/p criteria. For adjusted forecast you have to use another variant and specify the adjusted forecast key figure and the corresponding material branches.
Iam not sure how your requirement can be achieved in case you are forecasting @ material level.

Release of forecast from DP to R/3

Hi SCM Gurus,
I am facing problem related to release of forecast from Demand Planning to R/3. When I check for PIR in R/3 no PIR is there.
1) the product and location are maintained in APO & R/3.
2) Location Split is maintained.
3) MPOS with only Product and Location.
4) PA with one KF of forecast. Disaggregation based on different KF.
5) Period for Storage bucket and Planning Mucket in Month.
6)Created Transfer Profile.
7) created back ground job.
8) Maintained Publication.
Still when i release the job no PIR is created in R/3.
Am I missing any steps . Gurus. pls help..

Hi,
Can you check the Time bucket profile of the Planning book using which you are releasing the forecast to R/3.
The Time bucket profile which is used for releasing should have only one periodicity(Eg: Either Months, Weeks, or day).

Release demand from with different Unit of Measure

Dear colleagues,
I have the following issue:
a) The material master base unit is Kilograms KG
b) The base unit used in DP is UN
c) In the master data exits the conversion 10 UN = 32KG
d) If I release 7800 UN from DP to SNP, I received 7800 KG instead of 29460 Kg.
What am I missing?

i assume your SNP Planning area is in KG
I dont think the release forecast program checks the UoM of SNP planning area before release, It will transfer the PA base UoM.
So you can either have UN in SNP PA or you can use a internediate DP planning area with KG as UoM and then transfer to SNP (you can do this in one job just like you do normal release). If you use the same MPOS as the original DP planning area and use only the relevant KF that will be more than enough

Has anybody coded the Release Forecast to APO UE - ZXDMUSERU17???

Transaction MC90 releases forecasts/demand plans from DP to SNP. This user exit ZXDMUSERU17 is supposed to allow me to affect the resulting orders on the RRP3 screen, but for the life of me I can't figure out how this is done.
I'm looking for code examples where somebody has done anything with the SCHEDULE_LINE_TAB table within this UE.
Shoot, I'd be happy to see ANYTHING that anybody has done with it.
Any helpful information would be awarded with points.

Figured this out on my own. UE's and BADI's were useless for what we needed. Debugged the MC90 program stack and found what we needed in an implicit enhancement to fill_schedule_tab.

Credit release transfer from Delivery order to sale order

Dear Master's,
Our setting for credit release from delivery order but now change requirement from our organization, they like this check from sale order and i create setting it in test server but there is a problem with me, every thing is ok, system also block sale order for credit release but the value that is, net value. our requirement is different, we need gross value as we already working in previous with delivery order. anybody can solve my problem, i try to find it and feel there is no problem in setting but problem still in system.

Simple Java question about releasing beans from memory

Hi,
I use many beans in my app. Is there a way to release them from memory, or destroy the object. I feel that its possibly eating my memory up over time. Most of my beans are in page scope. Some are in session scope. So the page scope ones should kill them at the end of execution of the page and the session ones should delete the object from memory when at the last page of the app where session is no longer needed.
Someone mentioed System.exit(1); but I have not found any clear documentation that this will free up the memory that it has used.

There is no way to explicitly force the memory to be released. The JVM garbage collection will take care of it when more memory is required. The programmer's responsibility is to ensure that there are no remaining references to the object. System.exit() ends the JVM so you do not want to use that. You can call System.gc() to request that garbage collection runs, but the JVM does not guarantee that it will.

Top-Down Distribution - tcode KE28 (release upgrade from 4.6 to ECC 6.0)

All,
we are performing a release upgrade from 4.6 to ECC 6.0 and we have a problem with the tcode KE28.
The variant already set up in the system don't match with the selection fields present in the screen, and the following message is shown:
Message no. KG346
The variant does not adhere to the current Customizing setup
We have saved the variant again, and no problem are present, but the error message refers also to Customizing setup.
Is there a section in the Customizing where it is possible set up the field to show in the initial screen or the new fields (All Valuation Views, Legal Valuation View and Profit Center Valuation View) are due to the release upgrade?
If yes, do you know the transaction/path?

For this you don't need to release the text box from the text. Just apply a stroke to it.

Consume forecast from production plant

Hi gurus,
can i request you guys to help me out in this scenario.
Scenario:
1) we have plant A (a dsitributiuon center so to say, no production activity happens at this plant) and we have plant B where the actual manufacturing happens. There will be Planned independent requirements loaded into MD61 of plant B. we will not load any forecast in Plant A. Both Plant A and Plant B will get sales orders from the customers.
we will bring hte material from Plant B to Plant A using a STO.
now the question is what settings do i need to do such that the sales orders received in Plant A reduces the forecast in Plant B for a given material. Is this posssible at all?
I have tried in the system and i cannot reduce the forecast from Plant B when the sales order is created in Plant A. Are there any settings that i'm missing.

I suggest you to use strategy 63.
As it is stated on the following link from the on-line help, this strategy can also be used as a cross-plant version of strategy 52.

Unable to release space from table

Hi all,
We are unable to release space from a table called TST03 even after deletion of records.
Followings are the information.
Database     : 9.2
Table Name      : TST03
Tablespace     : LOCALY MANAGED.
Previously there were lots of rows.
At Present only 9 No of Rows.
Space allocated     : 41 GB
PCT_INCREASE     : Null
One of the column is of LONG RAW type.
Since the table is in LMTS, we were expecting that the space allocated will be released automaticaly after deletion of records.
Now, what are the option left with us to release 41GB of space ?
A. Is there any effect of "Drop storage" option of 'Truncate table' command ?
B. If yes , can i copy all the 9 rows to a new table, then use "Truncate table TST03 drop storage", check if space is released and then copy back all the 9 rows to this table.
C. Do you have any other easy solution apart from export/import ?
D. Checked all the relevant Note(646681,48400,10551), could not find an easy solution. I want to avoid offline export/import option.

Sorry, but that is not what LMTS is for. Wrong assumption.
MaxDB e.g. returns space immediately - Oracle does not.

Yes, the effect is, that after the truncate the table is empty and only one extent is allocated - the rest is returned to freespace. That's the DEFAULT behaviour of TRUNCATE TABLE.

Nope - you would have to copy the LONG RAW columns as well and this cannot be done easily from sqlplus.

Nope again - you'd have to use this offline reorganisation as long as you're not on Oracle 10g and the long raw fields got converted into LOBs. With 10g you might also use the SHRINK table command. But with Oracle 9i - sorry: exp and imp (will be pretty fast for 9 rows...)

Sorry - no way to avoid it and still get the free space back.
Anyhow you might want to take actions to prevent this situtation from reoccuring.

SQ03, user group removed after release upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6

Dear All,
I have a problem about user group - transaction code SQ03.
After the release upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6 the user group, that I created in the old system, are not present in quality and production environment.
In the development environment there is the user group but doesn't contain the queries that I created in the old environment.
How can I solve this issue?
Can I recover all missing queries?
(moreover I can access to the old environment)

Transfer of forecast from SNP to ECC

We are using transfer profile to transfer forecast (9ADFCST) from SNP to ECC.
We find that the original forecast is not transferred, but only the unconsumed (Original fcst - sales) forecast is transferred.
Is there a way to transfer the original forecast from SNP to ECC?

Thanks for your response.
Yes, we had thought of doing that, but we are transferring the forecast based on requirement strategy for each product in product master data in SNP.
Though DP has all the original forecst, it does not have req. strat. as a selection criterion for SKU.
For example-- if the req. strat. is 20 then create VSF orders in ECC, if it is 30 then create VSE orders in ECC and if it is 32 do not transfer to ECC.
So we have to fall back on SNP to transfer the forecast using that product selection criterion.
But in SNP the forecast is consumed by sales order/deliveries and only the "remaining" forecast (after all the consumption have taken place) is transferred.
We had tried /sapapo/dmp2 to transfer original forecast, but it does not work if the "Planning Assembly" field is not checked in the product master. And we do not use that field in our product master data.
