Release planning assistance

Dear community,
could you kindly assist me in release planning, for the following migration scenario:
Source : x86_64 linux oracle erp 6.0 SR2
Target : X86_64 win2008R2 mssql2008R2
Requirement for 2008 versions of mssql and winsrv is to have SR3 in general.
My question is, will I have to upgrade all current components to SR3, or could I just do :
upgrade sap_basis to :     700     0013     SAPKB70013 (per note 1076022 - to get mssql prereq) (non-bw system)
use modified  IM SR3 to do the system copy ( per note 1152240 - required for mssql2008 )
I would prefer not to have to upgrade all components to sr3, if possible.
But of course I must have a system which is on supported versions, thus my question.
Rgds, Eirikur.

> I also know what SR3 means and that I can upgrade my system by applying support packs to go from SR2 to SR3.
> However I would prefer not to upgrade all used components to sr3, because it would involve more risks and additional testing efforts, compared with only applying sap_basis support package 13.
Well - concerning the fact, that you are migrating your database to another one quite a lot of testing should be involved anyway so you could do that testing "alltogether".
>  I am seeking a confirmation that my understanding is correct. Best would be if some sap employee could give me a statement along the following lines:
> "Yes it is enough just to upgrade sap_basis. No it is not necessary to upgrade all system components to sr3".
Technically this is the fact, yes. You need SP14, not SP13 according to "Note 1076022 - Release planning for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (R2)":
b) Minimum support package levels and SAP kernel patch levels
For non-SAP BW systems the minimum 700 SAP_BASIS support package level is SP14.
You can install SP14 alone - IF there's not an implicit dependency to other components. SPAM will say if there is one.

  • Is there a link between ASCP released planned order and purchase requisition?

    Hi,
i'm new to EBS. would like to know is there some kind of link on table level between a released planned order with purchase requisition?
    thanks

    Hi,
As explained by Abhishek, we do not maintain any link between the PLANNED ORDER from which a requisition is created and the actual requisition.
The simple reason being... in general, businesses run the plans on a daily basis and each time the plan is run, the previous data is overwritten... so there is no point in retaining the information of the planned order from which you are creating the requisition.
    Hope that helps.

  • Unable to release planned order for single line from MRP workbench

    Hi
We are unable to release planned order for single line from MRP Planner workbench, but Select All For Release is working for all the lines for the item
User want to release a specific line but no new requisition is generated
It is highly appreciable if anyone could help to resolve this issue
    Appreciate the Help
    Regards
    VKPK

It sounds like the release goes through in the workbench but the requisition does not show up in source - is this correct? If so I would check item attributes / flags for purchasing and buy. also have found some items require a purchase price to be populated in master and org

  • Can I releases planned orders in planner workbench  using inventory planner responsability (IO)

Can I releases planned orders in planner workbench using inventory planner responsability (IO), in IO manual I found following information :
    Planner Workbench
You can use the Planner Workbench in Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning to act on recommendations generated by the planning process for a plan. You can implement
planned orders as discrete jobs or purchase requisitions, maintain planned orders, reschedule scheduled receipts, and implement repetitive schedules. You can choose all
suggestions from an MRP plan, or only those that meet a certain criteria. In Oracle Inventory Optimization, Planner Workbench is used to perform tasks such as setting up
item attributes, setting up supply chain BOM, and analyzing time-phased safety stocks.
my question is Oracle Inventory Optimization, Planner Workbench can´t release planned orders.
    Thanks in advance
    regards James

    Hi James,
We cannot release planned orders from IO workbench.
IO is for safety stock planning, not for releasing planned orders. That is done from an ASCP plan which uses the IO plan as demand schedule.

  • Default subinventory for released planned orders

Is there a place where we can assign a default receiving subinventory for the released or auto-released MRP Planned orders?
We need the PO created from these released planned orders to have a specific receiving subinventory. It may be defined by item or better by user or responsibility.
    Thanks a lot.
    Luis

    Hi Luis,
Please check the Setup Item Transaction Defaults in Inventory (Navigation:Inventory>Setup>Transactions>Item Transaction Defaults).
Its functionality is Sub inventory and Locator defaults are specific to "ITEMS".
Use this form to define a default sub inventory and/or locator for any item for shipping, receiving, and move order transactions. Oracle Shipping Execution displays the default shipping information when you ship an item. Oracle Inventory displays the default receiving information when you receive an item. For move orders, Oracle Inventory derives the default put away locator when you transact an item into a locator controlled sub inventory if no locator was specified by the creator of the move order.

  • Release Planned Orders from SNP to R/3

    Hello Experts:
I have a business request to release the Production Planned KF from SNP into a frozen MPS (or even an inactive fcst version) in R/3.  Since we have only released a forecast from the DP side to R/3 in the past, can anyone tell me the best practice to release from SNP to R/3?  Do I need to create an info cube to perform the release?
The business runs a Heuristic in SNP at the finished good level and the makes modifications and would like to release this to be used in the R/3 MRP run for some groups of materials, as opposed to releasing the forecast for MRP to run on.
Currently, I can send the data from SNP Production Planned KF to a time series KF in DP and release to MD63 from there, but they would like to release directly from SNP in the future.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,
If you want to release SNP planning data to ECC, you need to make following settings.
    In customizing
    Maintain Distribution definitions
Maintain Settings in Configure transfer to OLTP system in SNP customizing-Global Settings.
If you maintain periodic setting in SNP setting, you need to run transaction /SAPAPO/C5 to transfer data.
As well as u can do this also :
    1) You need to create a release profile using transaction /sapapo/mc8s
    2) In release profile, you need to maintain planning area,  key figure to
be transformed, plg version, category, etc.,
    3) Once it is created, using transaction /sapapo/mc8t, maintain the
    R/3 transfer steps
    4) Then create a planning job in background using transaction
    /sapapo/mc8d

  • When is the 5.8 release planned (looking for OM-D E-M5 Mark II ORF support)

I just purchased an OM-D E-M5 Mark II, and was surprised to see that the ORF file from that camera is not yet supported in Lightroom. I'm assuming that this will be in the next update, which should be coming out any day now, based on the last update being almost 5 months ago.  Does anyone know when 5.8 is planned to be released, and if in fact it will contain the updated ORF support for the Mark II camera?

Of course Lightroom has its own forum.  It's a completely different application with a totally independent engineering team.
The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries.
The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.

  • Whats the Approx. plan for Oracle 11g2 64-bit release plan?

    Hi,
I am looking for Oracle 10g2 for Win 7 64-bit but do not have any choice except to wait for 11g2 64-bit release.
I looked at the other similar thread but didn't find any date.
Re: What is the plan for 64-bit Windows?
Can anybody tell me the approx. date of release for 11g2 with Win 7 64-bit support?
    Thanks,
    Jignesh

    > Question is which does SAP ECC 6.0 support ( or recommend ) Oracle 64 bit Dedicated or Shared Server db migration ?
Never heard that anyone uses shared Server Setup with SAP.
With SAP, it is NOT the user having a DB connection.
It is the workprocess, and it is keeping it even if all users are idle.
You allways have dedicated Oracle processes for SAP Workprocesses.
The rather old note 70197 states, that Oracle MTS (multi threaded server)
allowed, but you are on your own to configure it and there are some pitfalls.

    Hi
The time release fence in defined at item level as 1 day also safety stock level is defined in inventory safety stock form.
Once MRP launch it should create the discrete job against item as zero onhand for that item but MRP workbench is showing planned order for the item instead of creating item.

  • ADMT, what is the release plan?

    Hello,
there are several posts on the topic but I can't find any recent one. Is ADMT dead in terms of new releases? Windows Server 2012 was released some 14-15 months ago and it looks like there is still no support for running ADMT on it.
There is a work around (using a previous operating system) but I don't think there is a work around for AD with version 2012 native.
My question is if anybody knows if there will be new release of ADMT (perhaps 3.3) or not? It would be very useful to know since we need to make new routines for our migration processes.
    Thanks
Erik, with many, many certs! ;-)

    From an internal source...
We’ve heard the feedback around ADMT loud and clear around its OS limitations and have been working to address them—you’ll be pleased to hear we’ve just about finished those changes!
In essence, it’ll install on our newer OSs now (both ADMT and PES)
    No additional functionality was provided
In all likelihood, we won’t do anything more feature-/capability-wise (outside of bug fixes should something arise)
The changes we have made require a bit of testing before we can release those newer bits , though
Once that’s complete, we’ll publish it <somewhere> likely in the form of an update to ADMT 3.2
The <somewhere> aspect remains a TBD since we’re reviewing our options
My intuition and optimism tell me that we should have this released in the early part of next year (Q1)

  • Firefox accelerated release schedule is causing compatibility problems with our intranet applications - where can I find the plan of this schedule including support termination dates?

We are a university use an in-house developed e-Learning application which makes use of a rich-client framework (ZK - www.zkoss.org). For reasons of compatibility with this application, as well as other general factors, we have standardized on FF 3.6 as the browser for all our desktops. We normally review our browser selection once per year and make compatibility changes/upgrades to the 3rd-party libraries we use, and our own code, in order to keep up with new developments in the browser market.
However FF's new release policy makes our life verify difficult. FF 6 came out only a few months after FF 5. For us to perform an upgrade we have to perform a systematic series of tests, adjustments, changes to regression tests etc. Due to the cost is not feasible for us to do this every 3 months! Therefore please can someone point us to a clear release plan for FF which shows, for each version:
    a. Release date
    b. End-of-support date
    c. Release notes
    d. Compatibility in terms of HTML and Javascript/ECMAScript versions.

    https://wiki.mozilla.org/RapidRelease/Calendar <br />
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases
New versions are going to be released every '''6 weeks''', so until Mozilla announces what they are going to do as far as support for an LTS version for enterprise "customers", you guys are left swinging in the breeze as far as being able to plan for the future with Firefox. I think that until that decision is made, support for Firefox 3.6 versions will continue. A 3.6.22 release is being worked on right now, probably for release this coming week.
As far as support termination dates, as each new version is released support ends for the previous version, except for 3.6.x. Currently Firefox 3.6.x and 6.0.x are the only versions which are getting security updates. Firefox 4.0 and 5.0 aren't "supported" any longer.

  • Jabber plan to replace WebEx Connect and CUPC

Can someone from Cisco articulate the roadmap plan for
    WebEx Connect Client
    Cisco Unified Presence Client
...in light of the FCS availability of 'Jabber Branded' clients for everything now? Are there subsequent releases planned?
I thought WebEx Connect {with CUCI Connect for UC} would be replaced by Jabber and the CUPC for Premise based deployments replaced by Jabber, and I would also only need Jabber for the Hybrid case as well?
But both WebEx Connect client and CUPC have features today, which Jabber doesnt yet, so my educated guess is you are obviously considering this as input for the Jabber roadmap and will not retire the older clients until you have a transparent transition capability?
WebEx COnnect: Things like Broadcast Message, Group Chat History, Incoming Chat Popup, change status from system tray, view recent emails in contact list, import contacts, and P2P (1:1) video and audio, all possible in WC, but not yet in Jabber FCS clients.
CUPC: Things like Persistent Chat, CUP HA, Group Chat History, CLick to 'x' from Browser/Office, Desk Phone Video, Personal Contacts.
Another guess would be that WebEx Connect will continue in parallel, as there are many Cisco customers who enjoy the WebEx SaaS offering and are not Cisco UC infrastructure accounts, and so will continue to use WC?
But I cant 'guess' when I am standing in front of customers with severl hundred thousand dollars of CAPEX being proposed.
Appreciate as much guidance you can give here so I can compete using Cisco.
    Steve

With the upcoming versions of Jabber for Winows 9.1 or Jabber for Mac 9.0 the feature gap between Jabber and WC is getting smaller, and will get smaller with future releases.
Customer can decide, ie. WebEx Connect is obviously cloud only, so for example when they prefer cloud P2P audio/video, only WC can do this. However Jabber works both cloud and on-prem, moreover if you have CUCM and a complete audio-video infrastructure, you don't focus on P2P audio.

  • Collaborative planning - Need insight

    Planning Guru,
Need some insight on collaborative planning?
Let us take an example of supplier collaboration. Using CP, I can create replenishment order. Supplier can view it also. But how these PO will be translated into some sort of sales orders? I can replenish materials using min-max also. The end result of both process are Req/PO. After that, both systems are unable to translate supplier demand into supply.
Whether CP is meant to just publish supply and demand data to supplier and supplier can create ASN? I can create ASN in CP, but isupplier can also create ASN.
May be this is a wrong question but don't you think now a days companies operate in more automated and integrated mode. Nobody has manpower to go and review the planned orders. Usually business rules are set and things are driving in automated fashion....
    Just wanted to know following:
    1) How are you using CP and in which business environment?
    2) If you are using CP, how are you downloading data from CP to supplier system? Whether you use some customization?
    3) Forecast, PO etc can be sent via different mechanism, take an example excel also, what extra benefits we have using CP?
I am exploring supplier collaboration for an aviation company. One specific supplier replenishes parts from our locations. We can use min-max for replenishment very easily. We can also use ASCP to recommend and release ‘planned orders’ specific to this supplier. I need to know what benefit we will get using CP in this case? Don’t you think after using CP also, we will end up writing custom code to integrate supplier system and Oracle to manage our purchase orders and supplier’s Sales orders.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

    Hi Rajkumar,
    A) The following are the settings required for collaborative planning
    1) User settings with authorisation object C_APO_CLPU
    2) Use transaction /SAPAPO/CLPSDP_USER for settings related to
    collaborative planning
    3) The prerequisites are planning area, planning book for
    collaborative to be maintained
    4) Web browser access settings needs to be maintained
    5) collaborative planning workflow are to be made
    6) /SAPAPO/CLP_SETTINGS - Collaboration Partners to be done
    7) Regarding no of customers, it depends upon the internet
transaction server.  I suggest you can check with SAP on this
    by raising a OSS message
