Release Strategy should be effected even if the PO Price is lowered?

Hi users,
Another doubt of mine is based on the release strategy (the Purchase order goes for rerelease) only in case of the increase in the PO Order Price (that is if the price is manually increased in a PO or if it indirectly increased by the increase in quantity)
Requiremnent: the current requirement is the po should go for a rerelease even if there is a decrease in the po price. alternately any change in the PO effecting a rerelease would also be acceptable.
anticipating an rearly answer.
thanks and regards
vinay

This is standard SAP. Release strategy will be reset only on increase in value.  You have to make the release strategy think that the value has increased (even if it has decreased).
Please see (the second part of) my comment in
Re: release strategy is not reset in PO?
Reproduced here for your ease:
You can use the release user exit. If the PO is in change mode and Save option is selected, then increase the value in the user exit (This does not increase the PO value actually, just fools the release strategy into thinking that the value has increased).
Hope this resolves.

  • Release strategy should revert

    hi
in PO we r using only release strategy not version management .
our scenario is like this , once a PO has released and if any body tried to do any change in PO after that , then those  release strategy should revert to  unreleased status.
guide us where to do right configuration .
what currently happening is , if in changing mode we are giving Quantity more then previous it is reverting release strategy other wise not .
    regards
    sachin sharma

    Sachin,
As SAP standard, release strategy will be reset if:
    - the changeablity of relesae indicator set to '4' incase of PR and '4' or '6' in case of another purchasing doc (PO, RFQ, contract)
-the document stii subject to previous release strategy
-the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher then the old one
For release strategy reset in PO i suggest to use user exit.

  • Release strategy should refresh when deleted PR  is undeleted .

    Hi all,
My client requires as below for PR's,
The PR release strategy should get to intial at any stage if the PR is released for some releae codes earlier, deleted & after the PR is undeleted.
    Regards
    Ashish

This cannot be achieved through standard release strategy configuration.
Basically the requirement is any change on PO price should result in blocking of the PO. You can create a custom field in the PO header that will function as a Price Change Indicator. Add this indicator to the release class and trigger the release strategy when the Price Change indicator is set to "Yes". Populating this custom field with value "Yes / No" should be carried out using a user-exit by invoking it in the PO change transaction.

  • New release strategy should not trgger for PO released with old Rel Strategy

    Hi All,
Please suggest. Po has been fully released with Release Strtgy V1 XX. Now I m replacing release strategy  XX with ZZ. If I change any po which has old rel str XX , system will reset new release strategy as in config changeability indicator 4 maintained.
But requirement is if there is  any change or value decreasing in fully released Pos with old strategy  it should not retrigger new release strategy. If value Increases then New strategy should retrigger.
    Please help me on this.
    regards,
    Rohit

    HI Rohit
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
           -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
              quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
           -  the document is still subject to the previous release
              strategy,
           -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The most important thing to consider in to avoid changes to release strategy customizing once the release strategy is used.
    The commom steps are:
1- make sure all of the old POs should have been released.
2- don't delete/change the original release strategy. create a new release strategy with copy function, then the old release strategy will not be replaced.
3- if you delete the original release strategy and add a new release strategy which the characteristics in classification is same as old release strategy then the PO (have been approved) will be replaced with the new release strategy.
    Kind regards,
    Lorraine

  • PR/PO release strategy should be revoked

    Hi Experts,

  • Release Strategy is not picking up in the PO.

    Hi All
I have defined a Release Strategy for the Purchase Order.
    The Characteristics are
    PO category
    Pur Org
    Total Net Order Value
All the lights are green which i check the release strategy.
But the Release Strategy is not picking when PO is created.
Kindly let me know what is the mistake i have dont or i need to make any corrections.
    Thanks in advance
    Renukaprasad.

    Hi Renuka,
im using ECC6, my PO rel strategy dont have PO catergory,
    but you can try this:
    Maintained PO characteristics:
    PO doc type
    PO Plant
    PO Pur Grp
    PO total Value
Once your PO meet this, Rel Strategy triggres.
When you define the Rel Strategy, there is rel indicator Approved and Block, configure based on your requirement.
    Hope this helps a little

  • Release strategy should trigger in different systems EHP7 and ECC6

    Hi All,
At our client side some are using  ECC 6 and few are on EHP7.We need to define the release strategy in a such a way that both the user can approve the PR in cross system. For example- user A is  using ECC6 and he created PR ,now he need to take approval from his manager and manager is using the system EHP7 in such scenario-
how does the system understand who is the approver?
How to maintain the same user in both the system? so that approval process can not be disturb .
What about the release code ? how to define release code in both system for single release strategy
    Thanks

    Hello,
    1st thanks for reply.
We have ECC 6.0 as live system but getting used in only A & B country. We bought new fresh, blank system EHP7 for C county. We defined release strategy in EHP7 but we have HR module in ECC6 .So all portions are defined in ECC 6.
For example- I am creating PR in EHP7 & last level approver is in ECC 6 .
The issue is, in the ECC 6 system  how will he get the email notification of approval mail.?in EHP7 there is no HR module configured.
    Thanks,

  • Release strategy not trigerred if PR changed after Approval

    Dear Gurus,
I have a requirement kindly help.   We have a PR generated from PS module, This PR is released by the approver. After the Approval, PS user change the PR qty and value has been increased. Now my client wants that this PR should be again sent for approval and release strategy should be trigerred. After the approval my release indicator is 2 RFQ/Purchase Order. I have set the Changeability indicator to 4 and define the tolerance to 0.1 %.
But PR release not trigerred even after this. Kidnly help.
    Thanks.
    Johi

    Hi Johi,
    Check note 493900 point 3:
    3.  Question :
Why is the release strategy not reset?
    Answer :
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
           -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
              quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
           -  the document is still subject to the previous release
              strategy,
           -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The total net order value is linked to CEKKO-GNETW for a purchase order,
    CEBAN-GSWRT for a purchase requisition item-wise release and CEBAN-GFWRT
for a purchase requisition overall release.
If you have maintained a Tolerance for value changes during release
(V_161S-TLFAE), the release strategy is reset when the value of the
document is higher than the percentage you have specified and if the
document is still subject to the previous release strategy.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ashwini.

  • PO Release strategy User Exit  if value is Reduced

    Hi,
I need to write a user exit to trigger the release strategy in Purchase order even if the value is "Reduced".
As you may be knowing releases will only be triggered if the value is increased according to standard SAP functionality.
So to trigger the release stratgey even if the value of PO is reduced some one suggested me user exit "M06E0004" Program :ZXM06U22.I guess we need to define a new characteristic called "URSC1".But cannot make out how really i can achieve this.
Can any one please guide,if you have worked on it earlier.
    Thanks.

    Gentlemen,
    Any Ideas....!!!

  • PR release strategy - customer individual scenario.- user exit required.

    Hi,
WE have customer individual scenario wherein PR is created from sales order (just like) third party scenario. we have sepatare document types for both these SO (ZCUS)and PR (ZCS).
Now our requirement is to have release strategy for all such ZCS PRS for which customer group of the customer master in SO has the value 02.
We set up the standard release strategy for PR based on document type (with value ZCS) at header level. Now we want to add the above condition.
ANy idea how to achieve this?
    Appreciate your quick help.

    Hi Pat,
I understand that you have already setup the release strategy for Purchase requisition ZCS, But now you want  a check to happen, that the release strategy should only be triggered if the Customer group of the customer master in the Sales Order is 02.
I think this is possible by using a user exit at header level as provided by Arminda.
Thanks and do let us know.

  • About ME22N (Release strategy)

    hello All,
currently i am working on me22n . i want to fix the below issue.
When a purchase order’s price(net price) / (PO quantity)quantity has already been approved at a higher dollar amount, they should not have to go through approval process for a lower dollar/quantity amount. Currently it does not go through re-approval if it is lowered in the same level, but it does go through re-approval when it is lowered to a lower level.
In this case what should i check for first. What are the user-exits that i should look for.
Please reply. Thank you for your help in advance.
    Sidd.

    Hello all ,
    Exact problem is,
The PO has been approved all the way thriugh all 5 levels. The original cost of the PO is $120,000.
Now , The PO price in the Net Price field was then lowered to $95,000.After the price was lowered, it canceled all of the approvals and retriggered the approval process. If the Net Price is raised, then the approval process should be retriggered, and it is; however, it should not be retriggered if the Net Price is lowered.
The same thing happens when the quantity is changed to lower the price. The original PO has been approved all the way through for 120,000 pcs at $1 for a total of $120,000.
When the quantity is changed to a lower number to bring the price down to another approval level, the approval process is started all over again.
Can anyone suggest me the way..
Thank you for your help in advance.

  • Release Strategy changesin PR will effect the previous PR/PO also?

    Dear Experts,
PR Release strategy should be changed(Release users increased). Can anyone clarify how the changes will affect. Will it apply to the previous PR/POs. If so what about closed POs. Pl advise.
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you change any existing PO or PR the release strategy will be checked. If a new one exists (which will be the case) the system will find it and the release process will be restarted. Same happens for closed POs if you undelete them.
I would suggest to create new release strategies instead of changeing the old ones.
    Best Regards,

  • Release Strategy Triggered even if the characteric values were not correct.

    Hi,
I have configured release strategy based on characteristics
    Purchasing group and
    Document type
It has 2 release indicators with 3 levels of release.
There are 2 release strategies assigned to same group 01 but have  different release codes namely 01,02,03,04
    Release Strategy A1has
Doc type NB and Purchasing group 120
    Release Strategy A2 has
Doc type ZINT and Purchasing groups 130,131,132,134,135,136,137,138,139
However a strange thing happened. The release strategy was triggered for doc type NB and Purchasing group 190.
This purchasing group is not listed in either of the 2 strategies
Can any one explain why the release strategy got triggered?

That means the old release strategy is not cleraed from the system
    do one test
Go to CL30N tocde and enter you release class and class type 032
    hit enter
now here enter the value of your char which is in the PO and hit Find in initial class from header
see which release strategy is pulled by the system
here you will see the release strategy and make sure that is not other than what you expect
