Release the Project Defination cj20n

Hi Experts,
I am able to create the project definition using a fm. Now the project is getting created in CRTD status.
Can anyone tell me the way to release this project definition programatically....
Can anyone help me with a suitable fm or a bapi to do the same...

Hi Amit,
go to CJ02 and open the project click on settlement rule tab(or press F7).
then u will go on one new screen. in that screen follow the following path
goto------->settlement parameter (or press F8)
then u will reach another screen there will be settlement profile
field . u select it as not for settlement.
then back on main project change sreen and save it
now u go in cj02 and release.

Relation between the Project defination and the PO

Hi ,
Where I can find the relation between the Project defination and Purchase order in CJ20 transaction or in Tables.

Project definition: A project definition identifies the key characteristics of the overall project. For example, a project definition includes the project profile and organizational details (controlling area, company code, etc.).
All project definitions must include a settlement rule. A settlement rule contains a G/L account that receives the accrued actuals. In some situations, a settlement rule uses multiple G/L accounts. For example, one G/L account is used for settlement for the first half of a year, but in the second half, a different G/L account is used. However, the settlement rule does not allow for multiple receivers to be active at the same time.

System Staus not set as REL in PD after releasing the project

Hi All,
I am new in SAP PS.Please help me in this issue.
I am working on the IDES System( Sand box).
Issue is as follows:-
Before booking actual cost in activities we need to release the project first.
But i am not able to release the Project definition directly. It is giving error as E:ZSTAT:000.
But i am able to release the WBS Elements underneath that and after that i can confirm the activities and book costs.
But when i am trying to release the PD directly, REL status is set but immediately after saving it gives E:ZSTAT:000 error and again it is in CRT status.
KIndly help me in setting the status.
What can be the issues?

The error depicted is not a standard SAP error. Its a customized error that has been maintained via validation.
Validations work at the time of 'Save', therefore the error occurs when you save and not when you release. Execute OPSI and verify the validation condition that is causing this error.
Once you are able to determine and understand the condition that is causing the error you will be able to fulfill it or remove the validation altogether (although this is not recommended).

Error message - KD199 Enter a valid value when Closing the Project at CJ20N

Hi All,
As I am trying to close a Project at CJ20N I have faced an error "Enter a valid value for the settlement type Message no. KD199"
I have tried to remove the settlement rules to one of its WBS element, but I could not. System shows the same message - KD1999.
Could you pls let me know how to resolve this to close the Project.

Hi Chandu,
I hope you have already setlted the project, since the system will not allow you to close the project unless there is Zero balance in the project. In this case, you can live without removing the settlement rule from any of the WBS element.
If there is any need to have this settlement rule removed, I suggest to change the settlemet profile to " Do not settle" and check once again. ( If there is any cost already posted, then repost the same to any other receiver.)

How to release the sunidm project from the server while debugging

Hello,
I am using NetBean to work on the SunIDM project. Each time I have to restart NetBean if I want to run/debug the project. I have tried to use GlassFish and Tomcat, but both server somehow still holding the project even I stopped debugging in NetBean. Is there a good way to have the server release the project so I don't have to restart NetBean? It make my debugging time so slow.

I you have ur request no, please goto se09 or se10,
request status must be MODIFABLE,
-> locate ur request no, release by clicking ur request and then clicking RELASE DIRECT truck in application tool bar.
-> click or refresh
-> Login to ur production server
-> goto STMS_IMPORT click on the PRD server
-> Locate ur request,
->Select using the select SELECT with arrow in application tool bar
->then click on the request IMPORT REQUEST truck or CTRL + F11.

Deception field in Project defination grade out after release of project

Hi Experts,
I am facing one issue in cProject that when I release the project , The description field in project definition becomes grade out, so not able to update the description field . I checked the field setting in global enhancements , it thy are fine.

Never project description gets greyed out after release of project.
This normally happens if field control is activated for that particular field 'Description' with condition 'object is released' fulfilled with 'only display'.

Junk Character like "#" comes in the Project & WBS desc.....

Dear all,
When we transfer and release the project from C-projects module to PS,
then sometime, a junk character like "#" gets appended to the Project &
WBS description, when we retrive the Project in CJ20N. This junk
character creates a lot of problems in the reports, specially, when it
is exported to excel. due to this, all columns gets shifted in the
excel. After a lot of simulation, we found that if we unintentionally
give some spaces in the c-project description, then the junk character
gets appended to the PS description. What is the remedy ?? what should
be done to avoid this ???

What is the data type? Will you be able to paste the content of the cell that you are referring to?

How to distinguish the PRs triggered by the Project

Dear all expert,
could you help me on the following issue?
i create a project in CJ20N, i use internal activity and external activity.
the materials to be procured are assgined to the internal activity, i release the project, run project MRP and the PRs for materials generated.
as for the external activity, i use it to generate the service PR to be procured from outside.
therefore, there are two kinds of PRs in the project.
as far as i know, the PR No are generated automatically.
but i want to find a way to tell they are two kinds PR, for example, from PR No or other way.
can you give me some help on suggestions?

To add to Gokul's Comments, in ME5J if you put item category as D, you will get only service related PRs.
or you can filter for service related PRs after executing the report.

Error while editing the project from CJ20

Hi All,
We are working on capital projects, one of our open projects was created in Jan 2010 with ten WBS elements with two levels and in between we have done profit center field as mandatory field in Dec 2010. For the same project initially we didnu2019t assign the profit center, I have released the project and done some partial settlements to final asset. Now I want to assign the profit center to the particular WBS element.
When I am trying to assign the profit center to first level WBS element system is showing an error: u2018Asset xxxxxxxxx is not in Company Code xxxxu2019. If I am trying to assign the profit center to second level WBS system is showing a message: u2018Costs have been posted to WBS element XXX00079.CAP.1u2019, and not accepting, not allowing for saving the project.

system is throwing valid error that "Profit Center cannot be changed once actual costs are booked"
1. Use Screen Variant for that Particular Old Project & make the Profit Center an optional field.
2. Copy your old Project Profile to a new one & make field selection with influencing field as the new Project Profile (By this, only the new Projects will get your field mandatory effect)
Revert for implications in the above suggestions.

Locking of the Project and WBS Elements at a single step.

My client requirement is to lock the complete project and wbs elements so as not to allow any further postings to the project, I knew that we can lock the project or WBS individually by setting the lock status, but i want to lock the complete project at one step, Is there any possible standard setting to sort out my Issue if not give me the solution.

You can open the project in CJ20N for example and can set the lock for project definition and also you can set the lock for WBS element without saving and exiting from CJ20N, after setting the lock for both project definition and WBS Element you can save and exit.
It is not possible to select more than one object and set lock with one click.

How to delete the project version RELEASED.

but in the system , there are no "Project 1522DJ110001". so the user can't create the project "1522DJ110001".
how to delete the Project 1522DJ110001 version RELEASED ?

When I select Delete Project Version from Extras menu in CN41, its asking session number and version.
In session number no serch help is avialble. I am keeping it blank and seleting RELEASED in version.
After pressing enter I am getting an error Project Version RELEASED cannot be deleted??
Let me the exact steps to deleted the Project Version.

RH9-change the name of the project after it's been generated & released as help site.

I'm a novice non-programmer working in RH9 - client wants to change the name of the project that appears at the top of Internet Explorer. The project has been generated & released to their internal website. I've changes every file name I could find as well as the name in the title bar when you first generate it within RH. Any words of wisdom &/or advice are welcome.

It's not clear whether you are trying to do this the correct way which will require generating the help again or whether you are trying to change it just in the output on the server.
The latter is not good practice as it will get forgotten next time you generate and you will be back to square one. If you must do that, then it should be as simple as changing the start page title. You will need a copy of the file from the server. Open it locally and change the <title>, then upload it again.
The correct way is to go to Project Settings and change the name there, then regenerate.

Can I change the location of my user-defined error file to the project directory?

The LabVIEW help says that the user-defined (XML-based) error file has to be located in the labview\user.lib\errors directory.
I would rather have the file in my Project Folders directory, as this is what is distributed.
Is there a way to make LabVIEW look elsewhere on startup.

Hey, from the LabVIEW help, it looks like you don't need to worry about it.
"If you use the Application Builder to create an installer, you can place a checkmark in the Install custom error code files? checkbox on the Advanced page of the Installer Properties dialog box to include LabVIEW error code files. The installer build includes all error code files from labview\project\errors and labview\user.lib\errors and installs them in the Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\8.2\errors directory."
If you select that checkbox, LabVIEW takes care of it for you.
