Thank you to the entire product team for another great release!
On Behalf of WS Team!

I did not understand very well what you told me.
The directory server is on another machine ex(m1).
I have other web server on another machine ex(m2). This web server working properly (solaris 10). And when I access to application, ldap error does not appear.
This web server (windows, SP11), is installed on my PC.
The ldap configuration on this instance is the same as another web instance (dbswitch.conf):
directory default ldap://m1:port/<base dn>
default:binddn <bind dn>
default:encoded bindpw <passwd>
From my PC I can communicate well with the server ldap, I used a ldap administration program, and users and groups tab of my web server (windows).
I open a browser on my PC, and if I access the other web server works fine.
if I access to my web server, the ldap error appear...
There are commands to diagnose problems with ldap, something about the character encoding windows-unix?
Thanks in advance

    * Web Server 7.0 Update 7 is integrated with NSS 3.12.5 which provides relief for the SSL/TLS renegotiation vulnerability (CVE-2009-3555)

Thank you to the entire product team for another great release!
    On Behalf of WS Team!

    Fantastic! Thank you WS team.
What is the schedule for the bug fixes and enhancements to be integrated into Open Web Server?
Also - It is Dec 18. the online shopping rush is on and many web sites are in lock-down (regarding software changes) until after the Christmas rush. Is there any way for these sites to apply JUST the NSS changes and Xerxes changes so that the vulnerabilities in SSL renegotiation and XML parsing are addressed, but everything else (as much as possible) remains unchanged? Applying an über-patch during the final week of Christmas shopping is not going to be an option for many administrators.
    Thanks!

  • Error ldap Java System Web Server 6.1 SP11 Windows

    Hi,
I have installed a web server SP11 windows, and the global settings I have configured correctly a ldap server.
In User and Groups access to all users of the ldap server.

When I go with a browser, appears the user and password window.
When I introduce user/password, in browser:
    Server Error
This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.

  • Sun ONE Web Server 7.0?

Now that Sun has released the Sun ONE App Server 7.0, will Sun release Web Server 7.0?
    Thank's

    Ref http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5445803
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2625/gavpo?l=en&a=view states that
If the installer detects a 64-bit system, you have the option to install the 64-bit binaries. This option is available only for the following platforms:
    - Solaris 8, 9, and 10 on SPARC v9
    - Solaris 10 on AMD64
The download page at https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_SMI-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=SJWS-7.0U8-OTH-G-F@CDS-CDS_SMI also states 64 bit support for Linux
64-bit support for Solaris SPARC, Solaris x86, and Linux operating systems
You can probably install the 32 bit version without any issues (other than 32 bit memory limitation), but I haven't tried it myself. Here is a list of the supported platforms: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-1403/gduwv?l=en&a=view

i have a sunfire 280r box running solaris 8 which i installed with sun web server 6.0 sp11.
    the default java is
    root@smartvideo1 # java -version
    java version "1.2.2"
Solaris VM (build Solaris_JDK_1.2.2_10, native threads, sunwjit)
but this is what i need for my java classes
    root@smartvideo1 # /usr/j2se/bin/java -version

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_01-b06, mixed mode)
    root@smartvideo1 #
i set the JVM & CLASSPATH settings to /usr/j2se and rebooted the hardware.
now, when i try to start the web server, i get the ff:

    would appreciate any help.
    thanks :)

    hi mv,
tried your suggestion of installing sun webserver7 but i got an error, something like "can't use sparcv9.so" (too bad i didn't copy the entire error before uninstalling). may have something to do with patches for solaris8. unfortunately, i don't have access to the patches since my support for the hardware ended many years ago.
was able to get 108434-18 but not 108435-18 which needs an active support account.

That's being fixed. Sorry about that.

Your Web Server has probably been configured to run as a user that doesn't have access to \\192.168.0.77\all\_photo\img. Use the Windows Services applet to check which user the Web Server runs as.

  • I don't see any way of configuring a web server in 10.9; this was always present in previous releases.  How to I set up a website on OSX 10.9.1?

I upgraded from Snow Leopard, where performance was great on my Mac Mini, to Mountain Lion, where performance is so bad that I'm now attempting a clean-install of Mavericks.  But, I don't see any way to set up my local website.  I don't see a Sites directory or any control in System Preferences to set up the web site.  How is this done in Mavericks?

Yes, the functionality has departed System Preferences. Here is an updated guide to jump start your solution. It deals with the Terminal solution below.
There are two approaches to launching a web server in Mavericks.
    Terminalsudo apachectl {start|stop|restart}
    System Preferences solutions
Web Sharing Preference Pane (free, originally for Mt. Lion)
    VirtualHostX ($)

  • Iplanet web server 6.0 sp 6 with jdk 1.4.2_10 and 1.4.2_10

    Hi,
I am using iplanet webserver 6.0 sp 6. At present i am using jdk 1.3. Now i have to install jdk 1.4.2_10 version for my application. But in the release notes of iplanet webserver 6.0 sp 6 it was mentioned that this version is compatable with jdk 1.4.2_02. Any one please help how is it makes difference if i go ahead with jdk 1.4.2_10 version.
    Thanks.

The release notes are pointing out that Sun has tested 6.0SP6 with 1.4.2_02. That doesn't mean that 6.0SP6 won't work with 1.4.2_10.
1.4.2_10 is a maintenance release. It should contain only bug fixes over 1.4.2_02. It should work. If it doesn't work, it's a bug in Sun's web server or Sun's JDK. In either case, Sun will need to fix it.
If you're concerned about supportability, please realize that 6.0SP6 itself has been superseded by 6.0SP11. If you do encounter problems, the first thing Sun's technical support staff will tell you to do is to apply SP11.

  • Web Server Filter Based SSO to Non-SAP Apps

    Hi,
I am following SAP Note 442401 for configuring the Non-SAP App for Web Server Filter based SSO using SAP Logon Ticket. Also, I have downloaded the 5_0_2_8.zip file.
The Readme doc of this zip file says:
"<b>Changes in Web server filter plugins
The Web server filter plug ins and the Ticket Toolkit now were separated.
    See subdirectories for further information:
    "C"          the Ticket Toolkit
"filter"     the Web server filter plug ins
This is the last released version (5.0.2.8) on SAPSERV.
Pleaser refer for newer versions to SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/patches)
    Technology Components-> SAP SSOEXT -> SAP SSOEXT</b>"
Zip file has two folders named "C" and "filter".
"C" folder has cpp code to varify the ticket.
"Filter" folder has DLLs for the different web servers.
So far so good . Now, what I want to know is that is placing the  DLL from the Filter folder onto the respective web server and doing some configs, as per the PDF provided with ZIP file, enough?
Or do I need to do anything else, like writing any class to read and validate the Ticket?
    Thanks,
    Vivek

It looks like you may have extracted the files to C:\sp2013. Can you try installing from a mounted ISO instead? Can you also validate that this is Server 2012 and not 2012 R2?

  • Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 available

I am delighted to announce that Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 is now available for download, purchase, deployment, and more.
This release builds on the highly scalable and stable heritage of Web Server. It features an entirely re-designed Administration interface designed around clusters, easy access to frequently performed tasks, simplification of frequently performed tasks., and a fully scriptable command line interface featuring functional parity with the browser-based interface.
In addition to the administration changes this release features:
o Full 64-bit support for Solaris SPARC and Solaris AMD64 platforms
o Regular expression pattern matching for URL re-writing and mass hosting
o If/Then/Else constructs within request processing
o Advanced sed based input and output filters
o Dynamic loading of Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) without requiring daemon restart
    o Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC)
o Built in request mapping for protection against abnormal load patterns and Denial of Service protection
    o WebDAV ACL support
o Out-of-box Java support for Servlets 2.4, JSP 2.0, JSF 1.1, JSTL 1.1, JWSDP 2.0 based web services
o Java session failover and recovery within a cluster of peers
o Integrated HTTP reverse proxy User-Agent
o Bundled FastCGI client for use with third party scripting environments such as Perl, PHP, Ruby on Rails, etc
o Enhancement of perfdump, stats-xml, and SNMP as well as more ability to monitor the Java container and the ACL system
    o Much more
The software can be downloaded from:
    http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=45ad781d
    The documentation is available at:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/coll/1308.3

If 7.0 was released, how come http://www.sun.com/webserver still only talks about 6.1?

  • Reverse Proxy with Sun Web Server 7 update 4

    Hi All,
I've just migrating to Sun Java System Web Server 7.0U4 B12/02/2008 from Sun Java System Web Server 7.0-Technology-Preview-3 B09/13/2006. I've have the two web servers running side by side on separate machines. Both have a VS configured as a reverse proxy pointing to the same apache tomcat web server.
The Tech Preview 3 server works fine and has been doing since it was installed. However the Update 4 server doesn't. I can access the tomcat app via the U4 server in a browser, but not with the app on my mobile (sync ML). Snooping the traffic show me that the U4 server is sending a different response that the Tech Preview server. I'm thinking it may have to do with Transfer Encoding: chunked. I've looked around the web to see if I can turn this off in the U4 server, as I seem to recall having to do so at some point in my life, though I can't remember when and with what.
Does anybody have any clues they can throw at me?? Or anybody know what has change in the reverse proxy part of the web server from Tech Preview 3 to U4??
Both VS reverse proxies are congfigured exactly the same.
    Thanks,
    Stuart.

well, technology preview is what the name says .. i am surprised that u decided to stick with a technology preview release all these days.. in any case, there should not have any feature change between technology preview build and U4. but , there has been lot of bug fixes - so, unless we know the exact problem - we can't easily narrow down the change between tp3 build with U4 and find out how it is affecting u.
here is a related article on how to use chunked encoding within web server 7
    http://developers.sun.com/webtier/reference/techart/chunked_req.html
now, to help you more appropriately, you need to provide us with errors (probably with log level set to finest within server.xml) and let us know with the error reported by web server when it is unable to send those requests to back end tomcat
you can set log level to finest by running the following command
    /sun/webserver7/bin/wadm set-config-prop -user=admin --config=<hostname> log-level=finest
    /sun/webserver7/bin/wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4842/set-config-prop-1?a=view
(once you have identified the problem, you might want to set log level to info as setting to finest will cause your logs to grow humongous and also hurt performance

  • How to set up a FTP and web server and integrate with DMM 5.2

    Hi All ...
I need to set up a external server only for content publishing to reduce the overhead of the DMM server .
can anyone guide me on how to set up the external server and intergrate it with the DMM 5.2
    Thanks

    semuthu,
    Notes from the Release Notes:
Compatibility Limitations with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
DMPs that use firmware release 5.2 are compatible with only one version of Microsoft Internet Information Server.
That supported version is IIS 6.0 for Windows 2003 Enterprise. If you do not have the supported IIS version but
want your DMPs to retrieve assets from a webserver, we recommend that you use Apache instead of IIS.
I would suggest using Apache instead of IIS for the webserver service. IIS can be used as FTP if needed.
There are plenty of Documents on the Web about setting up Apache and FTP for servers.
    Using Apache with Microsoft Windows
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/platform/windows.html
Quick HOWTO : Ch20 : The Apache Web Server
    http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch20_:_The_Apache_Web_Server
Once the Webserver is setup and operational. You simply store your media content on the Webserver
and then have your DMS assets in the media library use an external URL address for its location.
If you want to use external server for other features in the DMM, you can can see how to configure
