Releasing app for customers

Hi,
the company I work for delivers a client-server application.
For our customers we would like to create a stripped down client for the iPhone platform.
Since this application would only be usable for a small number of people, I don't think it belongs in the appstore.
However, 100 users might not be enough.
We do not have more than 500 employees.
How would we go about getting an application to our customers?
Do we need a standard or enterprise program?
Is it at all possible to provide customers with iPhone applications outside the appstore?

Ewoudvdv wrote:
Are enterprise program participants allowed to distribute to their customers?
I believe distribution is limited to employees (and likely needs to be done over a corporate intranet).
On the other hand, presumably you would incorporate some way to restrict access into the app, so possibly a free app distributed via the App Store may work even though it's clearly not going to be 'general use'; not sure that it would make it past the vetting process, but depending on the resources you'd need to develop the app, it may be a worthwhile risk (and may be a better way to get Apple's attention).
Good luck!

  • App for customers

    Dear all,
    Please help me in this
Can we receive amounts from customers through APP. If YES please tell the procedure. If NO ten why customer tab is there in APP.
If I configure a payment method for incoming amount then options are showing as (debit notes, BOE, payment demand, card etc). will this mean that we cannot receive cheque payments from customers.
    Please provide clarity on this.
    regards
    Raghuram

    Hi Raghu Ram
That depends on the business scenarios
    1. Lets say you have to bill to customer monthly and against you have asked your customer to register for RTGS monthly payment for a fixed amount for a specific duration
in this case you can choose Electronic transfer method
    2. Lets say you have to bill to customer monthly and against you have already collected post dated check from your customer
in this case you use Check Payment method
So it depends from case to case

  • Verizon please release a Home Fusion Data Usage Tracking Tool for customers

Just switched to Home Fusion. It works quickly but data usage has gone up dramatically. Why?
In the past, with my MiFi hotspot, I could use Verizon website tools to view usage per session to see when data was being used.
Verizon has no tools for customers to view usage during data sessions on their Home Fusion.
The only tool available is a worthless display of the "packets" used during the current session and the number of hours connected.
We cannot view past data sessions or a measure of mb or gb used for even the current session, let alone past sessions.
Verizon, please release an application that gives customers the ability to see when data is being used by their Home Fusion wireless connections!!!!
You will continue to receive complaints from customers on your forum and by phone if you don't give us the tools we need to see when data is being used at the very least.
My data usage has jumped up dramatically. The only help you'll give is for me to call Tier 2 support and have them list off my past data sessions and the amount of data used. Perhaps I'll call more regularly so they'll get annoyed and get an app for customers to see their data for themselves.
Your refusal to put detailed data usage in the hands of your customers makes me think forum complaints of your Home Fusion using data when all computers are off might be valid and suspect you may be trying to hide a problem with your data usage billing.
How can I dispute my data usage if you won't allow access to more than the total usage YOU claim I've used?
Make this customer tool a TOP PRIORITY. If I'd known data usage would jump and there'd be nothing to document the reason, I'd have cancelled within the 14 days. Wish I was quicker to investigate.

EXACTLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Starting March of this year, My bill has ESCALATED to the $1,000 mark and I'm FED up with their STEALING MY DATA. I have had the box TURNED OFF THIS BILLING CYCLE JUST TO SEE. June 16 was the first day. We had to go out of state so I made sure that Home Fusion box was OFF.. We returned the following night around 1130 pm and NINE GB of data was used on the 16th and we were NOT home AND THE BOX WAS TURNED OFF. THEY CANNOT EXPLAIN, WILL NOT REFUND, ETC.................. • Can't Export Release Build for AIR app...

Flash Builder 4.7 won't let me export a release build for any AIR apps at all...
It started when I wanted to make some changes to an old AIR app.  Couldn't even run it in the debugger, so I updated the AIR SDK (using instructions found here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html   and here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/how-overlay-air-sdk-flex-sdk.html )
So after doing all that, and making some other changes, I finally got my AIR app to run in the debugger in Flash Builder 4.7.  Made the changes I wanted to make, then tried to Export Release Build...  Kept giving me a "Password Incorrect for this certificate" error whenever I tried it -- but it would never let me enter a password.  I went to Project | Export Release Build, and on the first screen there, I would click "Next" and it would jump straight to compiling, skipping over the screen where you're supposed to be able to enter the certificate info and password.
Figured maybe because it was an old AIR project, that was causing the problem.  So I started a brand new AIR project -- very simple one with just a <s:Label> inside a <s:WindowedApplication>.  Went to Project | Properties | Flash Builder Packaging and created a brand-new self-signed certificate (which seemed to work) but again upon trying to export the release build, it wouldn't let me get to the screen where you enter the password.  Clicking "Next" from the first screen on Project | Export Release Build just jumps straight to compiling and (of course) it gives me the Incorrect Password error, because it never gave me a chance to enter the password.
So what is going on here?  Why can I not export any release builds for any AIR projects?  This is extremely frustrating -- Flash Builder 4.6 never gave me these kinds of problems.  What can I do to fix Flash Builder 4.7 so it will work properly with AIR projects?
    Thanks,
    L.

    Hi,
I think something's wrong with either your FB 4.7 installation, or how you updated the AIR SDK. I just walked through the exact steps you listed (except I already had the AIR SDK overlayed) and I can build a desktop AIR app without issue. I get prompted for the password and everything.
I wish I had a better answer, but I'd suggest uninstalling and re-installing FB 4.7, be sure to remove preferences as well. Then before you update the AIR SDK, try building an AIR app with the base SDK that's included in 4.7. If you can get it to compile and prompt you for the password, then it's the way you overlayed the SDK that's messed something up.
Make sure you download the correct AIR SDK that's specific to Flex. On this download page: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html is a reference in small print that says: Note : Flex users will need to download the original AIR SDK without the new compiler. Mac Windows. Make sure it's that version of the SDK (without the ASC 2.0 compiler). Then try overlaying the SDK again and see if that works.
I can definitely confirm that what you are experiencing isn't the norm, and that you can get the latest AIR SDK to work with FB 4.7
    Good luck!

  • Apps for refurbished iPod Touch, 32 GB (originally release Sep 2010)

I am planning on buying an iPod touch, 32 GB (originally released Sep 2010) from here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC544LL/A?mco=MjEzOTMxNzM
While browsing the apps store, I noticed many apps say they are for 4th generation iPod or iPhone.
First, how would I determine which generation iPod this is (I have not purchased it yet)?
And if this iPod is not a 4th generation, will apps for 4th generation still run on this iPod?
    What about apps for iPhone?
Will the app store warn me if I am downloading something that is not compatible with my iPod before I purchase/download?
This is my first Apple product and I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

i believe you are confusing that with iOS 4.
First, how would I determine which generation iPod this is (I have not purchased it yet)?
looks like a 4th gen to me.

    yes.
    What about apps for iPhone?
some apps are exclusively for iPhone. you will have to read the system requirements provided by the developer. otherwise, iPhone apps will also run on iPod Touch.
Will the app store warn me if I am downloading something that is not compatible with my iPod before I purchase/download?
no. again, you need to read what the developers says before you purchase apps.

Calmhey, Beta2 produces Windows 8.1 apps. The steps to produce a store app are described here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/projectsiena/archive/2013/12/30/submitting-a-project-siena-app-to-the-store.aspx.
In any case I'd recommend following the steps on a Windows 8.1 machine using Visual Studio 2013. Hope this helps!

  • Solaris 10 5/08 live upgrade only for customers with serviceplan ?

Live upgrade fails due to missing /usr/bin/7za
Which seems to be installed by adding patch 137322-01 on x86 according to release notes http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4078/installbugs-114?l=en&a=view
But this patch (may also be the case for Sparc patch) are only available for customers with a valid serviceplan.
Does this mean that from now on its required to purchase a serviceplan if you would run Solaris 10 and use the normal procedures for system upgrades ?
    A bit disappointing ...

  • Single App for teams how do I give it to a client

I just got Acrobat Single app for teams. Confirmed purchase. How do I gave it to a client?
Nothing has come up in "Manage Your Team" panel.
I got an e-mail telling me to download and install, but I already have it with my team seat.
Why would I want to download and install?
How do I assign this single app to another user not on my team account?
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi DanielW2011,
I have checked all the resources, at present the only option to buy is through reseller, I know it does not fulfill your expectation.
You can also check the press release : http://blogs.adobe.com/ukchannelnews/2013/08/05/creative-cloud-single-applications-now-ava ilable/
    It states:
"Membership Plans and Availability The new single app plan of Adobe Creative Cloud for teams is available for a suggested retail price of $29.99 (US) per user per month.  Existing customers with CS3 or later are eligible for single app membership at a suggested retail price of $19.99 (US) per user per month. Customers can pre-order beginning today, with product availability expected August 15.  Both the complete and single app plans are available via reseller partners worldwide. The complete plan is also available directly from adobe.com. For more information visithttp://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/teams.html."

  • Building Multiple Apps for Distribution Advisory

Has anyone read the "Building Multiple Apps for Distribution and Validating Your Distribution Builds" advisory yet? Am I the only one who's jaw is dropping that they've changed the rules again?
See here's the thing... I've already released an iPhone application. What is going to happen if I submit an updated version of the application using a new distribution profile? Is that going to cause problems for my customers? In other words, is the upgrade process going to work for them? How do I know the answers to these questions?
Furthermore... the instructions reference "company name". What are individual developers supposed to do? My application was already rejected at least twice because I had "iPhone Distribution: Developer Name" in the Code Signing Identity field instead of just "iPhone Distribution". Now you're telling me this has changed? Could you just confirm that please, before I go through another week+ of submission ****?
And seriously, could we get a show of hands: What developer here thinks they'll never want to develop more than one application for the iPhone?
Sorry, but my mind is just boggling.

This gives rise to a few questions for me as well.
We currently have one application in the App Store (app 1) and is looking to launch a second (app 2).
App 1 is signed with a distribution provisioning (pp 1) created particularity for that app before the new guidelines and is in the App Store.
We have created a new distribution provisioning profile (pp 2) for a wildcard app ID as advised in the new guidelines. This will be used going forward.
    Questions:
    1. Will we need to rebuild the old App 1 signed with the new wildcard provisioning (pp 2) and resubmit it to iTunes Connect testing in order to get both apps running at the same time? Seems impractical.
    2. Can app 2 be assigned any valid app-id (e.g. com.mycompany.newapp) created in the program portal in its info.plist file?
    3. If there at a later stage is a new version of app 1 should it be built with the new profile (pp 2) instead of the one used originally for that app (pp 1)?
I can see in the program portal that the old pp 1 (non-wildcard) expires 10/02/2008 while the newly created pp 2 is valid way into 2009.
Looking forward to know the answers to these questions - as are a lot of developers who had titles for the App Store launch and is currently putting new ones out I would imagine.
    Thanks.

  • Suggestion - App for older Lumias with WP 7.8

Well i like the clarity of playback on this phones (above average) but it would be nice to have an app for lets say only Tone control (Bass, Treble) to better manipulate with the sound. Many random headphones dont reproduce bass very well, and I guess this would help a lot of users to enjoy their music more. EQ would be nice too, but EO in global destroys the overall sound quality, and is a bit more complicated. I think and easy Treble/Bass correction app would be great if thats possible. And you still could make it Nokia Exclusive :-)

no worries mate . well here's how it goes: If you have an unbranded phone, then it is not tied to a network carrier. there are two types of unbranded phone, either a generic regional one, or a Country Variant one. in the case of a generic regional one, e,g. Australia, Nokia will provide the update to those devices. if the device is a Country Variant, then Nokia will provide the update to the local branch of the Nokia, and it is up to say Nokia Australia to APPROVE and release the update with their own customisations (certain apps, country regulations and law settings for things such as camera shutter sounds etc).
if your phone is a branded variant, then Nokia provides the update to the network carrier, and it is up to the network carrier to APPROVE the update or not, with their own custom wallpapers and random shishkebab that they choose to add.
Obviously in both cases, the local Nokia can say they don't want to approve the update, or the network carrier can say that they don't want to provide the update. This has been the case for many years with a lot of devices, not just Nokia's.
However, with the WP 7.8 and WP8 updates, and WP 7.5 before it, it appears Microsoft and its partners such as Nokia have been a lot stricter on network carriers and local branches, for them to actually approve the update and release it to customers. That is why on the announcement of the availability today of the WP 7.8 update, Nokia has stated that it should be available to everyone within three weeks, through both generic and network carrier variants.
