Relevancy of a field in Plant Classification in OGSD

I would like to know the relevancy of the field "No inventory guidance in the SA (/ICO/MOC_WK-BSTID)" Keine Bestandführung im SA in German in the configuration node IS Oil and Gas Downstream --> OGSD -->General Settings --> Plant Classification.

Hi PKM,
the flag means that a goods receipt will take place into a plant whereas the stock appears from nowhere.

Need to transfer field KLABC (ABC Classification) between CRM and R/3

Hello Group,
We plan to make the R/3 field KLABC (ABC Classification) of a customer (R/3 Table KNVV, Attribute KLABC) available in SAP CRM under Customer's sales area data. It should also be maintainable in SAP CRM.
After some analysis we found out, that this field also exists in SAP CRM (Table SMOKNVV, Attribute KLABC) but it is not replicated between CRM and R/3 (and vice versa). Also this field is not displayed in SAP GUI as well as not in the PCUI.
Now we are analyzing the two options:
1) Make KLABC from table SMOKNVV available in SAP CRM (and PCUI) for maintenance and extend the Middleware to enable the replication of KLABC between CRM and R/3
2) Extend the customers sales area data in CRM (PCUI) by a new attribute ZKLABC and extend the Middleware to enable replication between R/3 KLABC and the newly created ABC attribute in CRM
We have the following questions:
- What would be the better & easier approach ? Any recommendation or comment is highly appreciated.
- If we choose option 2, to what extend would the SAP CRM Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEWB) support this development (Is it possible to extend the business partners sales area data with EEWB ? Does the EEWB also extend BDocs if you add new fields to Business Partner tables ?)
Background Information:
We have SAP CRM 4.0 SP8, R/3 4.7 and SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0

no, I do not have the middleware enhancement guide. Do you have it electronically and could send it to me erikmueller (at) gmx.de ?
In CRM would make the field KLABC from table SMOKNVV available in PCUI? Or would you use the Easy Enhancement Workbench to introduce a new field?
Either way I the middleware would need to be enhanced, but I would like to understand what is easier in CRM to have the field available in PCUI.

Please check the check box in front of the field config material is checked?
If so then this material is configurable material
A material that can have different variants.
For example, a car can have different paint, trim, and engines.
Configurable materials have a super bill of material (BOM) that contains all the components for producing every variant of the material. Similarly, they have a super task list that contains all the operations. When a material is configured, only the components and operations needed for a variant are selected.

Yes, it posible:
go to SPRO
Logistics - General-> Material Master->Field Selection->Define Plant-Specific Field Selection and Plant-Specific Screen Selection (OMSA)
see the settings for the plant in field reference - you need a diferent reference to the diferent plants (group together similar plants - all the ones that you want the field to be mandetory should have the same field reference)
now go to OMS9 or OMSR
and set the field as mandetory for the field reference you have made in OMSA

Sales Order Field "Delivery Plant" to be Mandatory

In Sales Order VA01, the requirement is to make the field "Delivery plant" as mandatory field for particular document type called Tendor order ZTO. can i do this with Incompletion log or transaction variant or is there is any method to do the field mandatory using configuration.

In a sales order the delivering plant details is taken from these priority rules
Choice 1. CMIR of sold to party
Choice 2. CMR of ship tp party
Choice 3. MMR sales org data 1
According to me we will be mentioning in either one of these
In OBD2 we make delivering plant as a mandatory field for any new accont group so that it becomes a mandatory field in CMR
In MMR also thro OMS9 delivering plant in sales org data can be made mandatory
So far i have not seen practcally a sales order without a delivering plant in my experience
If you are talking about delivering plant in VA01 overview screen, then plant will never be there.
It has to be seen in item details shipping tab
Why it is not there in overview is, a sales order may have different items supplied or delivered from different plants hence it doesnt come in overview screen
It is always at item level
Without delivering plant shipping point cannot be determined and whole sales process comes to a stand still
Plant is maintained in master data and flows in sales order and that is it
Still i could not understand what do you mean by plant is not getting determined in your new order type ZTO always new order types has to be copied from the standard ones and to be modified according to your requirement
But Plant details will flow from master data only for any order type

From which field Substance ID classification number will be retrieved

Each product master can have one classification number entered for it for
each of 62 countries.
Tables /SAPSLL/PRCTSC and /SAPSLL/CTSNUMC are linked to product master.
I want to know from which field SUB ID classification number will be extracted?
Is it from CCNGN?
and will their be unique number for each country?
Please provide me any detailed information...

New field for tax classification (Pricing)

The scenario is - we need to map a taxes from R/3 to CRM. for this we cant use MWST , as this tax condition is already being used in the current process.
If we use another condition type then the tax classification for Material doesnt get picked in CRM. So according to the SAP note -336235, we have done the development.
+The developments includes + - new field created for material tax classification purpose and this field assigned to Pricing structure KOMP and KOMG. we have also maintained condition record by using this field , but the data is not being read by this field during the calculation of taxes in sales order (R/3).The data is exist in material master -Sales org1 tab -Tax classification (1 or 0).
Could anyone let me know, that how the tax classification data can be read from material master for this new customized field.

To use a custom field in pricing, you need to do two things:
1. Add the field to KOMP and KOMG and
2. Move the appropriate value in a user-exit.
Your post says that you have done 1. above. Have you coded the user-exit for 2. above? The user-exits are in MV45AFZZ.

How do we set the mandatory fields when entering plant address in SPRO, i.e. in path : Enterprise Struct->Definition->Logistics general->Define plant?

This is based on country customizing.

Follow the Path SPROLogistics - GeneralMaterial MasterField SelectionMaintain Field Selection for Data Screens.
Here you the options of amking the proft center field mandatory on Material type wise also.T-code OMS9
F4 on the upper side "Maintain Field Selection group" for Data Screens enter the field and goto find and enter the field name "PRCTR" and double click on the field selected and then enter.
Directly you can enter number 48 in the Field sel. group and enter and then double click on the table and field name a new screen opens make the field as "Requried Entry" and save.
The Goto MM01 and try to create the material the system will ask the profit center field to enter with error message..

Relevance of title field in doc library

Bit of a debate at work and I'm trying to dig up some hard facts.
We have been told that the title field in a document library and is pointless and can lead to user confusion between title/filename and basically adds no value. There has been recent talk of hiding the title field altogether from forms.
My concern is the effect this may have on search results.
We have our own custom meta data fields so this question doesn't relate to collecting meta data - we are covered there.
I have hunted down some info and have read comments saying that title is second only to content when it comes to the search algorithm. I've also read other articles that are less specific and just say it is good.
Is there a definitive answer?
This is a 2010 question but will also apply for our upgrade to 2013 which will be happening soon.

Relevance is about how closely the search results that are returned to the user match what the user wanted to find.
The formula to calculate relevance uses two areas of ranking called Static and Dynamic ranking.
Dynamic Ranking (query-dependent ranking) is where the property values or content of an item affects the ranking score. As example the ‘Title’ field can be evaluated against the search criteria and the more important we consider the field
to be, the higher the ranking score will be for items where the value in the ‘Title’ field have a closer match to the search criteria.
Static Ranking (query-independent ranking) is where the content or property values of an item do not determine the ranking of the item.
Dynamic Ranking contains Title Extraction - only performed on Microsoft Office files. In scenarios where the ‘Title’ field of an Office file does not accurately reflect the contents of the item (example when a title of a file is ‘Presentation
1’ or ‘Document 1’), Enterprise Search detects another candidate for title within the body of the content item, and includes this value with the actual title when calculating relevance.

Restricting fields in batch classification

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible (and how) to restrict specific fields in the batch classification tab. I am referring to transaction MSC2N. Some users should be able to edit all fields in this tab, whilst others can only edit certain fields.

In MSC2N there is a tab called 'classification'. All users should be able to access this, however, within this tab there are custom fields. Such as batch prices, date etc. Not all users should be able to change the batch price. How can this be handled?

You create the Query in SQVI by joining the tables --MARC, MVKE,MLAN.
So include the selection fields with Plant, Sales organization, Dist channel, Country, etc..
Out put fields you can include as per your requirements from all these tables .

Plant/Site field in Customer Line item in f-29 and f-22

I have a requirement of adding the Plant / Site field while posting the Customer advances in f-29
I have make the field optional in the Posting key field status variant and in the General Ledger Field Status variant Group in OB41
But still i am not able to see the field of Plant / Site in the customer advances.
Kindly tell me where i am missing some thing or if it is to be added in some other way

Hi ,
For your requirement i tried in my system.The plant filed is appearing in the F-29,F-22.
For that you can do the setting as below
1.Posting Key 19 select Plant is required field in OB41
2.Check in FS00 for bank account filed status and reconciliation of advance from customer account.
3.Go to the Field status for G067,G005.G001 and change plant field as required in OBC4.

You can define the field directly via assigning the field to field selection group...This could also be done at industry sector, plant level as well....
Check the path :
SPRO >> Logistics general >> MM >> Field selection >> Assign fields to field selection group...
SPRO >> Logistics general >> MM >> Field selection >> Assign field at plant
SPRO >> Logistics general >> MM >> Field selection >> Assign fields at industry sector level...
For this assign the field to the respective table and then provide it at OMSR...
Assign field selection group to it...
Then in OMS9 give the priority for hide/display/req/optional to field...
If you want this to be added in the new screen, then you have to make the settings under "configure the material master"...
