  • Reliance dongle not working on mavericks - Solution here

This is to help those with a Reliance Dongle in India who find they cannot use it when they upgrade to Mavericks.
    1) UNINSTALL the Reliance Netconnect software by going to Applications and Moving it to Trash and Emptying the Trash Bin. Trash the Reliance Netconnect Icon on your Desktop.
    2) Similarly, Trash the .dmg file in your downloads if you have it for the Dongle.
    3) Go to PREFERENCES->NETWORK and Delete your ZTE Terminal by highlighting it and Pressing the "-" button you see at the Bottom of the Panel.
    3) Switch off the MacBook Pro. And Switch it back on with the Dongle Inserted.
    4) Go to the Hard Drive folder and you should see the Dongle as a USB drive. Open it and install the .dmg file. It takes about 5 mins to install the s/w.
5). Switch off the MacBook Pro and restart - it should ask you to anyway.
    6) With THE DONGLE IN PLACE go to the Hard Drive folder and EJECT the Dongle like ejecting a USB Drive.
    7) Now, go PREFERENCES->NETWORK and add the ZTE Terminal by clicking on the "+" button at the bottom and choosing ZTE Terminal from Interface. I got stuck at this step because I did not eject the DONGLE in Step 6. Werid, but this is how the darn thing works.
    8) Add Phone Number as #777 and your Reliance Mobile Number as the Account and repeat as the Password. Click on APPLY. Then connect. Your Dongle light should turn green now and you can now connect.
    9) Minimize it. And run your Browser.  You should be Online now.
    GOOD LUCK!!

If you reply to yourself and mark it solved, your answer will show up better to people looking to solve this.

  • Vodafone K3520 dongle not working with LION.

    Hi guys and girls.
Have had my Vodafone dongle used on my laptop for 2 and a half years without any problems.
Installed Lion last night and now the dongle does not work. Tried downloading the latest K3520 software from Vodafone's website but says it is incompatible. Have loaded the OLD Vodafone dongle software and still can't get a connection.

  • Iball Usb modem(dongle) not working on g510 after windows 10 installation

Hi to all, I have just joined the forum to take some help from u people. I have a G510, on which i have just upgraded the OS from windows 8.1 to 10. After upgrading, some issues came like hdmi cable not working, external hard disk not detecting, etc., which with installation of drivers from lenovo website just went away. But still there is a problem of not connecting of my iball airway 21.0 Mp-58 3g usb modem with the lappy. The message coming while installation is "633The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly".  I have written to iball customer care for providing supporting driver for windows 10, but apart from them, if anybody else knows the way out, kindly share that to me. Thanks and regardsVirendra

Hey Dhelios and welcome to the forum -
I read this at their site and it didn't look good. Please note the NOTE:.
Release 3.01 UK - Apple Mac
Mac OS | Mac OSX 10.1-10.3 | Mac OSX 10.4
The ST-330 and ST-USB driver requires BSD support from Mac OSX.
Be sure to enable BSD support during the installation of Mac OSX!!
NOTE: The ST-330 and ST-USB driver does not support Intel based Apple Macs. For Intel based Macs we recommend using an Ethernet modem/router. A list of compatible ST-500 and ST-700 series products is available online here>

    Hi
Thanks for the advice above. Initially cleaned off original app
I removed the software application from Mac HD/Applications/Orange Mobile Partner
The kernel extension located at Mac HD/System/Library/Extensions/HuaweiDataCardDriver.kext
The modem script located at Mac HD/Library/Modem Scripts/HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Modem
Then dragged the Orange MobilePartner file to the HD, selected 'Show Package Contents' and followed the advice above opening the .mpkg.
Was about to try and return the dongle, but now after several tests, am sure it works

  • Just upgraded to 10.4.7 by Software Update - Avid dongle not working

I upgraded as I always do thru the Software Update - so it's the combo. Never really had problems like this before.
I had to reboot many times to get the desktop to come up - ran disk utilitly and fixed permissions and disk - no many errors. All fixed.
But can't run Avid Xpress pro - Avid says its a dongle combatability issue and is working on it.
I am asking here because I am lookin for other ideas - and I know there are many people with problems right now. I haven't used very many applications yet because of the holidays.
Someone already tried to go back to 10.4.6 with no luck.
    Any suggestions.

FYI - there has been an unofficial fix that works -
download the driver for the dongle.

    It works.
i am on 10.4.7 and was freaked when it didnt work but this driver did the trick

  • Bluetooth dongle not working on bootup

I have an usb bluetooth dongle, inserted it, started bluetooth daemon and everything worked just fine (using kde and bluedevil). However when i rebooted i discovered that during boot the dongle doesn't get initialized so i have to unplug and plug the dongle to make it work. • Bluetooth USB Dongle does not work

I have this generic looking USB dongle (forgot the brand) that I use with my eMachines e725 laptop. It worked fine with Linux Mint 9 KDE 64bit that I had to use for the past 1.5 years. The moment I plugged the dongle in, it was instantly detected and the bluetooth icon turned active in the system tray. However it does not work with my ArchLinux 64bit install with KDE4.6 (updated to latest packages). Due to issues with the new Kernel 2.6.39 series, I am using the LTS kernel.

Have you read the Bluetooth wiki page?
Seems to me you didn't run the relevant daemon.
Also, your thread title should include 'bluetooth' - 'USB dongle' on its own is too generic.

  • My dongle is not working with compaq 610

    Hi,
I have Compaq 610 laptop which is around 2 year old and it is working  fine. Last week i brought "Micromax MMX352 3G USB dongle" but is is not working on my laptop.
Problem is that when i put dongle inside USB port, first it appears that laptop has detected the USB and try to install all dongle related software (automatically from Dongle stick) but suddenly (during installation), after around 1 min, USB sign disappears from laptop desktop and from device manager and after few second USB sign appears again in both laptop desktop and device manager. This process continue indefinatly.
Because of this Dongle is not able to connect as it shows message that "No device".
I have tryed the same USB dongle in different desktop (assembled and other company) and laptops (other company like HCL) and it is working fine.
Normal Usb stick (Pen drive) working fine on my laptop.
    I have tried everything like:
    1) Check device manager and uninstall "USB mass storage devide" (comes after putting USB dongle in USB port) and then USB dongle start installing automatically same process happens as described above.
    2) Check the bios for USB port status and it is On.
    3) Also disable windows firewall
    4) Disable Virus protection software.
    any help pls....

    Hello ashishgarg
What model laptop do you have? When I search for the Compaq 610 I see several laptops and want to make sure I provide correct steps for your model.
How Do I Locate the Model Number on the Service Tag
Since the USB dongle works on other computers the problem seems unlikely to be a problem with the dongle. Have you tried a different USB port on the laptop? Also are you using any type of HUB or docking station to attach the dongle? Based on your description it sounds like midway during installation the device is “disconnected” and “reconnected” to the computer.
I have experienced a similar problem on my own personal laptop where sometimes dongles that are large, aren’t held well enough in the USB port. This can be for multiple reasons. One case I had was the USB dongle was a bit heavy. As a result the contacts would disconnect as its weight pulled it down. In my case the solution was to put something on under the dongle to “hold it up”. This prevented the disconnecting.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.
