Reloading creative suite 5.5
My computer operation system has crashed. I have only had it for 6 months and have already loaded creative suite 5,5 into it after having it in another computer that was too slow. Now I'm wondering if after I have the operation system reloaded and all my programs reloaded will I have trouble with reloading creative suite 5.5 again?
No. Why do you think so? The only problem you may have is with your activations, but that can be resolved with talking to support by phone or web chat.

After replacing my MAC HD running on 10.6.8 I tried to reload Creative Suite 2 Standard software on my computer. Seems like the Disc is not being recognized, as a double click on the icon duplicates the icon on the desk top.
Any suggestions on how to restore the software?
Joe ContadinoCan you mount the disc on any other computers? If so you can try copying the install files to a USB drive.

My PowerBook had Adobe Creative Suite 4 on it before it died. I had to have a new hard drive and ram disks installed. Now I can't reload the Creative Suite. How can I do it? I don't really need to upgrade for my purposes.
I must admit I am not very computer savvy. I'm 81 and probably will
not pursue my work much longer. I have published and helped publish
self-published books for individual writers and companies since 1995.
I simply cannot, nor do I want to, afford to buy a CS4 upgrade, even
at the reduce price of $600 they offered. My wife has been handicapped
since have strokes in 2006 and later years. I can live without it if I
have to. However, I paid for it and hoped I could get it on the
laptop. You may be right about them asking for a serial number of an
older version, which as I said, I don't have. -

hello. hey, thanks very much for writing back. i got some good info with a search or two. (info about what regedit is and what corresponds to it in OS X -- regedit allows you to edit "preference" keys for individual programs, OSX's equivalent for these keys are the .plists in User & System: Preferences and Application Support)
what i ended up doing was uninstalling Premiere Pro (not the suite, just PPro). Then i deleted a few preference files:
from User /Preferences/Adobe:
com.adobe.AdobePremierePro.plist
com.Adobe.Premiere Pro.5.0.plist
and from System Preferences:
the file: Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs
and..
/.../Premiere Pro/5.0/...
AMEPrefs.xml (i noticed that there's also a preference file in Media Encoder's own folder so i didn't sweat this one)
Debug Database.txt
Placeholder Preset.epr
PostEncodeCmds.pref
PresetCache.xml

NOTE:
of course i don't know if deleting any files beyond the 2 .plist files in User Prefs was necessary, but... it seems to have worked.
I then reinstalled Premiere Pro CS5, and fired up an old project and i've got playback of HD and DV files, and snappy editing and rendering, so hopefully i'm good to go. I'm just going to stick with v5.0.0 because i actually don't remember ever having any trouble with it, and i don't remember v5.0.4 adding anything i was 'missing' or 'needed'
hopefully, this thread will be useful for any future folks that run into trouble - and it's got a solution for both Windows and OS X

I was opening Illustrator in CS4 design standard. Odd too, because the error comes up with it showing missing plugins from Photoshop. I opened Photoshop first, then Illustrator to see if it changed anything. Yes, One of the two error messages for a plugin was gone.
To remove apps I went to the Adobe website to redownload my standard CS4 and chose "uninstall".. So I did. Restarts x 2 . Then Reopening illustrator...same thing again. Restarted, then went to Disky Utlity and cleaned up something off of it as per a internet suggestion...Sorry, it's been a long day alreay. Not me removing anything, just allowing it to do that with repairing.
The version of Mac OS is YOSEMITE 10.10.2 .
I recently updated!!! oooh nooooo! (every watch Mr. Bill on SNL?) so if the updated OS is the culprit, do I have to go back to older version for my apps to work? I never realized how very much I use Illustrator. I know there are extensions I could go through one at a time....seriously I am overwhelmed with some life events that make this computer dilema almost too much of a challenge for me at this time..I am truly grateful for your help. Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium will not Reinstall: Says Serial Number is not "Valid"
Chat support has been no help. I uninstalled Creative Suite 6 because I was having issues with some of the software and hoped that a reinstall would solve the problem. Now the software will not reinstall. It takes me to the validation screen where it asks for the serial number and says "We are unable to validate this serial number for CS6 Design and Web Premium. Please contact customer service," when i type the serial number in. I have now gone through THREE chat sessions with "customer support" in which they have sent me a link to download the same program, and it would not reload because of the serial number, and then have walked me TWICE through a multitude of tasks that have not solved the problem. They keep asking me the same questions again and again, ignore my own questions to them, and cannot give me any information that actually helps. The phone system will not support Creative Suite. I NEED this software to reload as I've already missed one publishing deadline and will miss another if I cannot use this software, which, at the moment, seems to be a $350 coaster.
This is the same disc I used to install the software originally. I installed it on my old laptop and used it there without incident until my new laptop came (a period of about two months). I then Uninstalled the software from the old lap top and installed it on the new one, again, without incident. When I found that the icons for switching between tools in Photoshop and Illustrator were so small I could not see them, and they seemingly could not be adjusted within the program, I uninstalled the software, and at this point is when the software would not reinstall on the same computer it was on in the first place. My software is official, on a physical disc, and registered to my account with Adobe. What do I do? I just opened this press five months ago, and I cannot justify a Creative Cloud membership with the amount of work I'm actually putting out at the moment, and especially not with the terrible customer service I have been receiving so far.
Please help.If you never deactivated, and neither did they, then that is likely to be a reason for not being able to activate again. Contact them thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.

Need help with upgrade from Adobe Creative Suite to PS CS4
My old laptop with Photoshop on it crashed and I ended up purchasing a new laptop.
I'm trying to reload my PS CS4. I am using an upgrade from an educational Adobe Creative Suite Premium to the CS4 and when I loaded it on my old laptop I had to get installation help through customer service, but now customer service will not help me since it is CS4.
When installing the upgrade, it tell me to select the product I already own. I own the educational full creative suite, but am only upgrading the Photoshop. I chose Photoshop CS and tried entering the serial number for the suite. It tells me that the serial number doesn't match the product chosen. Of course the only products I'm allowed to choose from is Photoshop CS, CS2, or CS3 and not Creative Suite Premium.
The other serial numbers on this CS is Golive CO and Pagemaker Plug-in.
I was told there are Adobe customer service reps here on the forum, please tell me what it was I need to do to get my Photoshop installed.
Thanksi wasn't aware that you could get a ps4 at an upgrade price using an older creative suite produect. i searched online and found this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/476009) which makes it appear that was not a valid upgrade path.
but, if you're confident that was a valid upgrade path, i'm pretty sure something will need to be done on adobe's end and no amount of manipulation, on your end only, will work.
your best bet would be to get help in this forum from an adobe staff member like jeff wright who is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to help adobe customers. to that end, if i were you, i would start a new thread mentioning his name in your title and in your initial post explaining:
you have the educational Adobe Creative Suite Premium and purchased a photoshop cs4 upgrade years ago that required adobe support help to install years ago.
that worked well until a recent computer problem forced you buy a new laptop and you are now trying to reinstall that ps cs4 and again need support help but have been refused help because cs4 is not current. -

When I tried to reload the Creative Suite CS2 the Photoshop was grayed out. Unable to click onto it to install. Any suggestions? I am a web and graphic desighner with no photoshop! UGH! If you find no other option, try cleaning up your machine and then run the installer again. Following kb will help you to cleanup your machine manually -

After wiping my hard drive, I cannot reinstall creative suite from disc. Keeps asking for serial number of my previous version. Unfortunately this number is from version 1, not listed in the choices offered. Do I need to reload 1 and then upgrade with 4, which is the version I have.
You can check to see if you have a qualifying version registered under your Adobe account. You can follow the steps listed at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3987968#3987968 to view your registered serial numbers.

The computer repair shop destroyed my old computer when they attempted to replace the fan. They tell me the motherboard is shot and they are buying me a new computer. I need to know how to reinstall on the new computer the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Student and Teacher edition that was loaded on the now broken computer.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am not sure if you understood my
situation. What I needed was to contact Adobe customer support so that they
could deactivate the CS6 on my broken computer. The problem I had, and you
might want to address this as part of Adobe customer service moving
forward, is that there is no way to contact customer service for issues
with CS6. The only support option allowed on your website is to post a
question in the Forum.
If you follow the link you sent me to Adobe customer service, and believe
me I did, you will be taken to a page that will ask you for some
information about your product first. Once you go thru the series of
questions and windows, you reach a page that tells you that your only
support option is the Forum. It will literally not allow you to initiate a
chat session!
I finally found that their is a small statement at the bottom of the page
from your company president saying that customer service is important to
him and to let him know how Adobe is doing. By clicking on that link I was
able to send an email and within a few hours a customer service rep named,
Sandeep Singh, responded to me and told me that he had increased my
activation count so that I could reload CS6 on my new computer.
Given that the average computer lasts 3 to 6 years and that Adobe products
are quite expensive, their should be some way for your customers to contact
customer service directly without the need to navigate through a system
designed to make it nearly impossible to contact someone. This kind of
support should be available for at least as long as one might reasonably be
expected to use your product, say 5 years.
In contrast to this difficult experience, I also contacted Microsoft
yesterday for help with transferring software from my broken computer to
the replacement. It was extremely easy! I went to their customer service
site answered a few questions and was presented with the option of either
chatting with a rep or having one call me. I chose call and withing 5
minutes someone called me and helped me with my issue. They even sent me an
email confirming the resolution with a case number.
This process has really made me wonder why Adobe has chosen to offer such
limited and deliberately difficult customer service. I hope these comments
can help you address these issues internally so that Adobe can improve its
customer service experience.

Creative suite trial extracting for 2 days

Ive been trying to download the creative suite trial and 2 days ago, it reached the extracting stage and has since frozen. Ive tried solution 4 as it comes up with error 105, but it just seems to have frozen as I cant pause or delete it or anything, Ive even tried to delete the download assistant and reload it again and the same thing happens. How do I get rid of it? as I said, Ive looked at the troubleshooting section but its not been any help for me
ThanksNinaf95 if you are continuing to experience difficulties I might recommend removing the Adobe Download Assistant, removing the preferences and cache, and then try the download again preferrably in a different web browser.
