Reloading Ipod music back onto I tunes Library

We have recently had to have our pc reloaded with windows xp. All my itunes were backed up but my daughters were not.!!!
She is not very happy with Dad as you can imagine?
Can you restore the music from the ipod back onto the PC's itunes?

Hi earache1,
You can use a program called iPod Rip for Windows. This will let you get your songs back onto your computer.
Hope this helps,

  • IPod Music back onto iTunes

Looking back I think what I've done may be stupid. I've got a Powerbook G4 with 20G of space. So what I had been doing is burning my CD's onto iTunes, getting them onto my 20G iPod and then deleting them from iTunes. I was doing this so I could minimize the songs on iTunes (saving space theoretically) and keep them on the iPod instead. I got an external hard drive for Christmas, but now I can't get them back onto iTunes from my iPod (or onto the external hd for that matter). Any suggestions or am I toast? I have 1200 songs on my iPod so I'd hate to re-rip them all back onto iTunes from scratch.
    Thanks in advance.

There is many way to copy your muis back to your iTunes, my suggestion is to pick one of the following 3rd party software to do the copy..
    1. iPodRip
    2. Senuti
    3. Ollies iPod Extractor

  • Restoring Ipod music back to I tunes software on PC, PC was restored

I had to restore my hard drive and lost all the songs on my itunes software, but they are still on my ipod. Why won't the software automatically sync with the content on the ipod and restore all of my music and playlists?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The iPod / iTunes doesn't offer this feature as it would be used to illegally share music.
That said there are plenty of applications that will do it. Have a look in the iPod or iTunes forums on this site.

    Hello bigali,
Your options are kinda limited. I would use this first:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and ...
Then check here for the non-purchased items:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022
You want to rebuild the library first, then sync the ipod.

  • I have all my music on an external media drive that has crashed. How can I get the music of my ipod touch back onto the comupter without loosing the music when it syncs?

I have all my music on an external media drive that has crashed. How can I get the music of my ipod touch back onto the comupter without loosing the music when it syncs. in order to start rebuilding my music collection?

You should be able to recover the media with the tips in  this post from forum regular Zevoneer but I'm not sure what the implications are for your application settings. You can probably transfer your purchases into a newly authorised library, backup the device, recover any other media using third party tools, then restore the device from the backup. That should switch the assocation of the device to the new library but it is not something I've personally tested.
When you get it all working, make a backup!

  • HT1349 I had to reload my computer and inadvertently erased the music from my I Tunes library. I wish to speak with someone about reloading my library but cannot get ant ifo. Any suggestions on how to relaod my i tunes library or get info from Itunes?

How do I recapture purchased and downloaded music for my I Tunes library after inadvertently deleating that info?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very reason.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Putting Ipod Music back into library?

I had to reformat my computer and after storing all of my important files on my nano I figured that once every thing was reinstalled I would also be able to move my music back into my itunes library. It isn't letting me do this. Is there anyway that I can get my library back?

    I use this app-
    http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/application.php?app=iPodRip
Well worth the 15$ price tag, and the interface is great!
    Hope that helps,

  • Problems backing up I-tunes library to external hard drive.

Help - I'm having problems backing up I-tunes library to external hard drive. The drive appears on the desktop but when I try to drag in my i-tunes music folder I just get the circle with a line through it symbol. I can drag items from my mac to a different 4 gig memory stick with no problems. I put some music onto the hard drive from a windows p.c. and that dragged into my i-tunes fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

i'm guessing the external HD is NTFS formatted, which your Mac cannot write to (read only).
you will either have to reformat it (FAT32 or, better yet, for Mac) or install the _*NTFS 3G*_ driver.

  • Sincing music back onto itunes

All of our music was removed from our itunes because my husband moved them to an external HD and it got all messed up. I tried to sinc my music back onto my itunes and only the perchased songs were put back on it. Can I get all my music back on my itunes? Some of it was from our own CD's that we coppied and added to itunes. what do I do?

*I tried to sinc my music back onto my itunes and only the perchased songs were put back on it*
When you say sync your music back do you mean you are you trying to copy back from an iPod? The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Senuti Mac Only
    PodView Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
    iRepo Mac & Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • Getting music back onto my computer after it crashed.  Using same computer.

My current computer caught a virus of some sort. It erased almost the entire memory. Needless to say, my Itunes library was erased. I still have all of my music on my ipod. I am simply trying to put that music back onto the same computer. I have downloaded Itunes 10 and I thought I was ready to simply sync and the music would appear on my computer. That isn't the case. I need help putting the music back into my Itunes on my rebuilt computer. Any suggestions?

I'm going to assume that you never backed up any of the music on your iTunes library to an external source and that you weren't running any current antivirus software.
Might I suggest you purchase a Mac Mini with an external hard drive? Then you could use Time Machine to back up and wouldn't need the antivirus software.
But in the meantime, also assuming the music on the iPod was not purchased from the iTunes Store, download and install YamiPod from here: http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ then follow the instructions.

  • How to I copy photos from my ipod classic back onto my pc?

How to I copy photos from my ipod classic back onto my pc? My hardrive recently crashed and the photos on my ipod are the only copies I have! The photos were synced onto th ipod originally - not saved or copied as file transfer.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. I'm not sure which of the recovery tools can do photos offhand, but unless you chose the option to include full res. originals when you loaded the device then what they extract will be fairly low res. If you did opt for full res. then they should be visible on the iPod's drive when viewed in disk mode.

Hopefully you moved the entire iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder to a new path on your external drive. Copy your iTunes library folder out to the root of the external drive, e.g. X:\iTunes (where X: is your external drive), then move the media folder inside it. Hold down shift as you start iTUnes and keep holding untila asked to choose or create a library. Choose the library at X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl. Should all be good.
Failing that, download and run my FindTracks script and point it at the new location of your media folder.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
