Remapped Alt and Option keys

My Logitech wireless keyboard has somehow had the ALT and OPTION keys swapped inadvertently. Anyone know how to remap to baseline?
G5 dual 1.8 Mac OS X (10.4.6) Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse

Keyboard & Mouse preferences pane in System Preferences. Keyboard tab. Click on Modifier Keys... button. Change it there.

Hi there!
Does any of you know a way to remap the right command key to option key?
I've tried using fkeys and ucontrol, but they cannot handle it, any ideas?

When the question is simply "is there software that does X?", your best bet for an answer is VersionTracker.
In this case, the simple search (in the Macintosh section) for "Keyboard" produces, near the top, this hit:

Have you tried doing what it says?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Alt and Shift keys act like "sticky" keys - don't work if held down

My 8830 Alt and Shift keys mysteriously stopped working normally, and now operate exactly how a one-thumbed person would love.
It seems I've activated some rare acessibility feature that I can't turn off. (Tried pulling battery.)
If I hold down the Alt or Shift keys and press another key (e.g. the "W") nothing happens - no character is typed. BUT if I press the Alt key and release it, the up/down arrow icon appears in the upper right of the screen. Then if I next push the W key I get a "1" and the icon disappears. The next keypress of any key gives its regular (letter) function.
The same behavior applies to the right and left shift keys too, except the CAPS icon appears in the upper right.
How do I turn this "feature" off?

I had the same problem in my BB 8100, i read this below, and it works to me too. The trackball seems to stay pressed or bad working so it makes the shift and alt not working. After this muy Alt and shift button returns to work correctly.

I popped off the ring around the track-ball with a screw driver and cleaned the sensors. I also depressed the sensor on the circuitboard of the device with a metal tipped pen and things started working fine again. Rebooting and cleaning the track-ball had not helped until I manually pressed the circuitboard at which point everything returned to normal including track-ball clicking and having to press the Alt-key once every time I needed to use a number.

Command, Control, and Option keys no longer works with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5

At first my keyboard did not work with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5 and I found the workaround by using "cmd + tab," however, once my keyboard work within Citrix, the "command, control, and option" keys no longer work. Does anyone have a remedy for this?

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache folder(s):
Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
and, if there is one, the
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

Remap volume and eject keys on aluminum keyboard?

Is there a way to remap the volume, mute and eject keys on the Apple
(wired) aluminum keyboard?
I'd rather have them above the keypad if that's possible - like they
were on previous Apple keyboards.

CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys are sticking (not physically)

I am having a problem with the T-61p I have been using for 2 years now.
About once every 2 days Windows thinks that either the CTRL, the ALT or the SHIFT key is held down. I only notice this when my mouse's left click or my arrow keys starts behaving funny (like opening dialogs when clicking on icons or highlighting text on a page in MS Word) instead of moving the cursor as they should.
When this starts happening, pressing the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT buttons causes the strange behavior to stop.
None of the keys are physically stuck down. I am using an external keyboard with my laptop closed and docked. I have tried switching keyboards, and I get the same results with brand new Logitech keyboards.
What could this be? Has anyone seen this problem before?
Your help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!
It sounds like you've inadvertently turned on the Sticky Keys accessibility feature. Since you didn't mention which operating system you're using, I can't tell you how to turn it off. Trying searching for Sticky Keys in Help in the Start button menu.

Shift and option key

For some reason, I have never been able on my computer to use
the option drag and the shift key restrain feature on this
computer, it is about a year old. On my older macs all the option
and shift key features work. This is happening in photoshop and
Illustrator also.

you wouldn't happen to be using Entourage as your email
program would you? If so, look at the post by me "Selection Issues"
this was happening to me yesterday and might be of help. turns out
both the issues you are having and the selection problems were
related to Entourage. Hope this helps.

Problem with H and Option key on a macbook keyboard

I have a problem with my macbook keyboard, any time i tried to use the "h" or "option" keys i get the TM symbol.
All other keys works perfect

I have the command, control, and option key symbols that display on my desktop when I tap them on my keyboard. what is this called? and how do you get rid of them from doing this?

Not sure what this is called and I need help to get rid of it.

You can try reset the modifier keys in:
System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Modifier Keys

To be able to edit images in ps from lr I have to launch lr with the ctrl, alt, and shift keys pressed in win 8.1.

This was the resolution by adobe techs. Was only supposed to be necessary for each catalog once if I check its integrity, but that turns out to not be the case. Don't even need the integrity check for this to work. (Uninstalling and reinstalling everything a couple of times didn't help.)

Since it works fine with same command in Windows 7, this issue may be caused by Windows 8.1 client side.

Just in case, please open IIS manager and switch to Default Web Site. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Edit Bindings to double check the configuration for HTTP:
1. Make sure the value of Hostname is empty.
2. Ensure the port is 80.
For your question, I have test this command in Windows 8, it works fine.
Is there any extra software installed on it? please try to run Windows with clean boot, also we can try this within a new Windows.
Besides, please try to telnet port 5985 and manually open this port in firewall ports.

Option and Command Key Swapped on Built-in Keyboard

My option and command keys are swapped on the built in keyboard. They work fine with a external USB keyboard. I have checked that the keyboard & mouse > modifier keys preference and they aren't remapped in there. In fact, changing the mapping in there has no affect on the command and option keys.
Any suggestions? Is there a plist file that I can trash?

I was finally able to fix this by plugging in my non-Apple external keyboard. Once I did this, a drop down menu appeared in the modifier keys window that let me select the internal MacBook keyboard and fix the mapping issue.

I've tried to remap PageDown and PageUp keys with Oracle
Terminal (OT60) but i've get this error:
Resource Name: windows-sqlforms Type: bindings.
Error while parsing the binding string
"PAGEDOWN"
of an entry in component "normal".
Failed to parse token "PAGEDOWN".
Can anybody help me?
