Remediation issue
I'm using remediation, which is working basically fine, except there is a pause on the "next" button the first time it is hit (before the user is taken back to it after taking the quiz).
It only happens on the first of three remediations in the project. The other two are fine, and also the second time the user hits the "next" button on that slide there is no pause.
I have tried recreating the project and still, it happens on the first "next" button.
Is this a bug?

ISE Posture Remediation issue with AV client installation
Problem: If user start AV client installation in pc via AV link remediation after some time (while AV client installation not completed yet) trend micro Update windows gets pop up but not start automatic AV or AS def remediation and Cisco NAC agent shows the message AV definition is not up to date.
Also some time NAC agent give message automatic remediation failed or required user intervention to press ok so NAC can complete remediation process.
I am facing this issues when users don’t have Antivirus client in pc and performing client installation.
We have the following posture policies,
1 AV installation check: if AV is not installed in PC then perform link remediation and let user to download the Antivirus client from provided link.
2 AV definition & AS definition version check (both remediation requirement I putted in one policy): if AV or AS definition version found old then perform automatic remediation.
3. WSUS check
4 SP check
Actually I want, first user install AV client via link remediation once installation complete then move to AV & AS def remediation if required (because in first time AV client installation it automatically download all update from the AV server) otherwise def remediate policy wait for AV client installation completion.
Please can anybody let me know how remediation work internally ? like if "AV inst" remediation start so nac agent wait for it completion and don't start other remediation process e.g AS & AV def?
Second question:what is remediation process sequence ?
Third question: is there anyway we can configure timer in remediation process e.g 5 min for AV inst then 3 min for AV & AS def remediation and then go to other posture remediations ?Please check the below guide for Posture Configuration:

Thanks,
SajithWhy are you posting this on the Oracle forums, shouldn't you be talking to Remedy or BMC or whoever provides support for the product?
Also this (or other public forums) is generally not the place for urgent production issues. There are paid support channels for such issues.
Anyway, a hint:
I would probably dig into the very vague "SQL database is not available" message. Does the system have details in logs? What clues does the actual/underlying error messages provide? Is the database in question actually up and reachable from the client (i.e. app server) host?

Hi,
I made a requirement for AV update, NAC detects the infected client and launch the AV (Trend micro client) so he can update his AV but after that NAC shows unknown result in CCA and does not show any message regarding successful remediation.
(Traffic is allowed towards AV server)
Any idea?Hello,
Here are the links to the Windows and MacOS supported AV/AS on NAC 4.8.2:

GRC 10.1 Simplified Access Request and Remediation View Issues
Hi Everyone,
We recently upgraded our GRC 10.0 environment to 10.1, SP 5 and am having the following issues--has anyone else also experienced?
In the simplified access request form, it keeps telling me to enter a “valid user ID”—even though the ID is valid and works fine in the normal access request screen. Also tried to search and then select the ID in this field with the same error.
In the SoD Remediation view, I keep getting “No Data Found”, even though in the detail view, there are risks the same request:
I’ve checked the following things:
I’ve used IE 8, IE 9, FireFox, Chrome, and the NWBC to see if any of these fix the issue
I double checked the 10.1 “upgrade guide” to make sure Gateway configurations are correct
It looks like we are on the latest support packs:
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
BrettHi Brett,

How to troubleshoot Remediation?
I am running ZCM 10.2. Downloaded the patches and on ZCC > Patch Management, select a patch and in Action, pick "Deploy Remediation" and deploy the patch to one device (Windows XP SP3) and I picked the time to be 5 minutes later.
However, I don't feel the remediation was run as the "patched" & "not patched" number remains unchanged.
Also did agent refresh but don't see the patch is being applied.
Please advise how do I troubleshoot the remediation issue.
Thanks in advance.

Forms Hang when trying to open
We are using Oracle 10.1, on 32 bit Windows XP SP2, IE 6, jre 1.6 on the client side. The end users at time uses multiple forms and also uses Oracle Discoverer 10 at the same time. Print out reports uses Adobe Reader 9.1(which is another story), with java 1.6.7
We have team of developers that created the forms and application in oracle. I deal with the end users.
Issues we have been getting are:
1. Users attempt to open a form and the "hour glass" appears and then hangs. We close the application by closing the IE window.
2. As time goes on we have been seeing more and more users with this issue. Those that use the application more heavily seem to be having more issues
3. I called the development team and they have stated that they do not see anything in the database of their logs to indicate that something is wrong.
What was done to remedy issue:
1. Cleared IE temp files, cookies, history
2. Cleared Java temp files - this seems to work for a while
3. Uninstalled users profile and re-install - it helps for a bit and then the issues comes back
4. Re-created a new PC from scratch
On the client computer we do not see any error messages. The system just hangs. It is happening on a daily basis for some users and getting more frequent to others as they use the applications more.
Does anyone else have this issues? The developer team said that it was a setting on the client side. I have been searching for a while, but have not come up with anything. Can someone assist? Thank you in advance for any assistance.New information:
I was monitoring an end-user, when the freezing occoured during pressing a button. The applet freezes, hourglass is displayed, but I've noticed that I can drag/move the window around and it still gets updated. I didn't gray-out.
I tried attaching the JConsole utility on the Java.exe process. After some digging I found the following:

I seems like the AWT-Windows is blocked by the Forms-DialogThread56. Is this normal, when a alert is displayed?
But!!!! Notice that the alert doesn't get displayed....
I also tried using the "Detect deadlock" function in JConsole, which doesn't find anything.

The next 875P bios... _what_ is taking so long?
The MSI flagship mobo for enthusiasts, the 875P Series, has not received a bios update since 2003-6-26!
An important feature Intel sata raid 1, as well as numerous errors have yet to be implemented/resolved, which makes it very hard to understand why MSI has not worked hard to remedy issues with their 875P - their flagship.
This forum as well as many other respected external forums speaks what everybody involved in the MSI 875P nightmare is thinking.
We are highly unsatisfied with MSI's lack of involvement in the development of their flagship motherboard products bios and it is hurting MSIs credibility.
Unfortunately the return period for purchased items (where I live) is only 14 days, which leaves little time to discover if your motherboard manufacturer can be trusted to update the bios of your product when needed or not.
I bought the 875P, based on very good reviews from hardware websites I used to trust and crossed my fingers that MSI would in time remedy the baby-problems that seemed, at first, to be common to all mobos with the 875 chipset.
MSI, you have violated my trust in you and your products by not committing yourself to improving your product after it has left the shop.
You have little or no time left to save your skin. This motherboard is making your trustworthiness bleed as long as it does not receive your, highly needed, support.
Tell us what is going on - that would be a start. We have been waiting for a new bios for over a month now and have heard nothing from you.
A beta bios seem to circulate but, according to beta users, it remedies only few of the many errors we have with your flagship motherboard product.
Your moderators have stopped commenting on when the next bios will come out. A bit less than a month ago they told me that it would take "a few days" for a bios with intel sata raid 1 to come out.
Last bios for the MSI 875P was on 2003-6-26... _what_ is taking so long?!
-AndreasWell I for one think that MSI has really dropped the ball on this one. Asus, Giga-byte, Abit etc all have released Bios for thier 875P chipset mobo's that now fully support RAID 1 on the Intel SATA. I liked the 875P Neo because of its feature rich design. When I looked at all the available offerings from the competitors at the time MSI seemed the best. If the only problem with this board were the lack of RAID 1 support I would still be a little miffed at how long the new Bios fixes are taking and how little improvement there has been to the most serious memory, fan, stability, and automatic OC related issues.
Remember people that these Mobos have a very limited time span before they begin to go obsolete. Technology moves fast and if MSI can not provide these fixes as fast as the other mobo makers then it is all over for them. How do you think you are going to feel come September when the NEW chipset mobos are being sold and the MSI bios issues have still not been sorted out? We are talking like 2 months here. No, I say where stability and performance are concerned with Motherboard technology time is of the essence, to little to late is not good enough. I would rather not feel like I should have waited till September and bought the next chipset for the same money I spent on this one.
Reputable companies support their products in a timely fasion. MSI has failed miserably at this. I will certainly be going back to Asus , Gigabyte, Abit, or Intel for my next purchase. The little money I saved on the 875P Neo and the extra features gained were simply not worth the crappy bios fixes which are well behind the above mentioned companies in both release time and quality.
Sorry this is just the way I see it. I will not be coming back to MSI in the future. They quite simply do not deserve my money.
Polecat out -
After upgrading to ios6, my battery life is cut in half.
Battery life has been cut in half after upgrading. Sometimes, when taking phone out of the case, it's very hot & the battery is almost gone even though it hasn't been used since charging.
I would have to agree. I think that the update is affecting some users. I am guessing you are using a touch. I boutght mine a year ago, it had i4 on it, after the update to i5 i noticed a vast improvment on the battery life. After the update to i5 (which igmackenzie) has nothing to do with how you updated it, wi-fi or hard wired, as long as it takes you are good. It does seem that for some reason, i5 has a finiky issue when it comes to correctly updated apps (i5 ready) and the app store crashing. (have updated about 75% of mine and the issue seems to have resovlved its-self.)
As a long time user of this site for issues i am having and a long time mac user, will you please keep your opinions out of it. this is a help site, for people to remedy issues. NOT a blog for user forum. Appleinsider has a great place for you to discuss your OPINIONS, as for your HELPFUL advice, that is greatly appreciated. But it does appear that the user basically figured it out on their own. -
Why iTunes is running very slow after v10.6.1 update?
Once i update iTunes to version 10.6.1, it runs very very slow... almost to block OS X.
i wonder if iTunes is rebuilding the music library or what, because this is very unusual in apps or any OS X software.
thanks to all can help me in this question.Hello rcruzb -
I don't have enough information about your situation to really deep-dive with you into a sure fix, but I can at least tell you that I was experiencing similar slowness/freezing in iTunes after updating to 10.6 - and it wasn't fixed in 10.6.1.
I took some steps to isolate my issue, and you might consider taking those same steps (as they might yield a different result for you). Here's what I did to help isolate what caused my issue, along with the inevitable solution I found for me:
- First, if you haven't done it recently, make sure your library is consolidated and organized automatically. You don't HAVE to do this, but it significantly improves performance in iTunes when the library is all in one spot and search indexing isn't spread all over the machine. Open iTunes, click iTunes (in your menubar), Preferences, Advanced, and ensure "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" are both checked. To consolidate and organize your library, you can select File (in your menubar), Library, Organize Library, then ensure that both "Consolidate Files" and "Reorganize files in the folder 'iTunes Media'" are checked (if the latter option is grayed out, it just means it's already setup properly that way). Depending on the size of your library, this can take some time.
- Second, you can attempt to rebuild your iTunes Library. This is a simple process which essentially has you create a new library, then take all the content from the old library and pull it back in. This can remedy issues where the iTunes Library itself is bloated, corrupted, or simply trying to search through some broken threads and taking a long time. Rather than flush all of this out here, I'll refer you to the official Apple support document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
- Third, and this is what I determined fixed my issue: Turn off iTunes Match and/or Genius Mode. iTunes 10.5 had a known issue where the Genius Mode could become corrupt or would consume massive amounts of RAM, slowing iTunes to a crawl. iTunes Match actually enforces the use of Genius Mode - so I can't tell whether it's one or the other causing the freezing since they run together - so turning off iTunes Match turns off Genius Mode (but not the other way around). If you're using either of these services in iTunes, turn them off and relaunch iTunes. If your situation is anything like mine, you will see a dramatic improvement in the quality and responsiveness of iTunes. If you want to continue using iTunes Match, I'd recommend splitting up your iTunes into two libraries: one for music / iTunes Match / Genius, and one for TV Shows/Podcasts/Movies/Books/iOS syncing. To create a separate library, hold the Option key while clicking the iTunes app in your dock/finder/Launchpad and select "Create New Library". Save it somewhere and be sure to give it a distinctly different name so you don't get confused. Turn iTunes Match on in this new library and let it populate all your music, and use that library for music. When you want other media, hold option again when launching iTunes and say "Choose Library", then select the other.
I hope this helps! It completely, 100% resolved my issues with iTunes 10.6. I know it's not a sure-thing and may not be a universal solution for everyone, but hopefully the steps above at least give you some things to consider that may have resolve or at least narrow down what's happening. Best of luck. -
NAC Agent 4.9 issue while remediation with in ISE
We are installed NAC agent 4.9 where we have configured posture policy for Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11x in ISE 1.1.1. Where when enduser fallen down to remediation and try to remediate to collect the latest anti virus definitions from Local Antivirus, when clicking on the update button we get a message stating
"The Remediation you are attempting is reporting an access denied error. This is usually due to a privileg issue. Please contact your system
administrator"
It continuosly asking that prompt and giving that priviligae message.
Are we need to have administrator rights for remediation ? and this prompt is appearing again and again till the remediation timer and then it fallen down to Non-compliant (Restricted ) profile.
Please find attached screen shots for the sameI figured out a solution that works you must disable Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) on the affected system. To do this :
Open Keychain Access. Keychain Access can be found by selecting Go in the Finder and choosing the Utilities option. Keychain access should be listed in the folder that appears. Double-click the Keychain Access icon to open it.
Select Keychain Access -> Preferences from the menu at the top of the screen
Choose the Certificates tab
Change the OCSP option from Best Effort to Off
Close the Preferences dialog and quit Keychain Access
You should be able to NAC now -

2. The role was removed from the backend system and the ARM request status is Finished
But when i tried to add the role again and tried to run the analysis using remediation view the role appears but with no option to remove, rather it just says Remove role is in progress (Previous ARM request number is mentioned)
P.S: I have already run the Repository Sync.
Any help would be appreciatedHi Ameet,
Thanks for the response. The Repository job ran successfully

Has there been any helpful remedy for the ghost typing issue?
Has there been any helpful remedy for the ghost typing issue? Where the ipad starts typing on its own and screens moving around the screen?
I have had the ipad 1 for a while- and it started about 5 months ago. Anything other than shutting down and leaving alone for hours work?Yeah, well if you read that whole thread you will see lots of posts identifying it as a hardware problem:
I'm the original poster on this thread. I ended up taking my iPad back to the Apple Store. They ran some diagnostics, and found that my RAM was almost maxed out, which didn't really make sense. It indicated a faulty processor, so they gave me a new iPad. I took it home, synched, and it only took about 45 minutes to synch 30 gigs of data. My original iPad took about 5 hours to synch for the first time. Clearly there was a problem with the processor in the first one, but I didn't realize it at first, as it took several weeks before it started exhibiting the erratic screen behavior. Hope this helps anyone else who might experience this down the line.
-merenvov
So i went to my apple store... which was PACKED. Found a manager and explained my problem. Without any question, they simply replaced it. Awesome!
-duncanwilcox
I have the same problem, and I found out what's wrong, it's not the software - restart, restore and FW upgrade will not help, it's definitely hardware. The best option is to replace your iPad assuming you have an apple store nearby…
-DarkDwarf
Just get your iPad replaced. It has a hardware problem. -
I have had a problem with my iMac running Safari with the error message stating "safari quit unexpectedly" each time I try to open it. Can anyone offer me advice on how to remedy this issue please.
