Remembering last Photo viewed in a folder

I am searching high and low and there is probably not a solution but is there a way that lightroom remembers the last photo viewed in a particular folder. For example i am sorting to a folder with say 8000 images for a project. But then I have to stop and work in another folder for something else. When going back to the folder with thee 8000 images it starts on the first one. Now I found a small workaround (I sort my images with name) but I tried to then sort to edit time highlight the the first image then and go back to sort by name and it seems to work but sometimes I do not remember if I seen all them or if I really stopped on that image. So thats why my question is there an option for Lightroom to remember the last image which was highlighted or worked on regardless how the pictures are sorted in the folder.
it would help a lot but as I see not to many threads about that I might be in a minority here

A number of people have requested this -- please see and vote on this topic in the official feedback forum: Lightroom: Remember last image selected in each folder. Meanwhile, the OddJobs plugin provides this functionality, and the Any Source plugin provides a "back" button that goes back to the previous source (folder, collection, etc.), selection, and filter settings (LR's back button just restores the source).

IPhone 4 only syncs last photo in every picture folder selected

My husband's IPhone 4 refuses to sync more than one photo from each folder he selects to update. It's always the last photo in the folder. He's had this problem from day one of owning the phone, and he's tried many times to fix. He's running Windows 7, 64bit on an HP computer. But, he had the same problem on his prior Sony PC running Windows XP. He has deleted ITunes, deleted the photo cache file, reloaded ITunes restored his IPhone to factory settings, all to no avail. This is ridiculous. The last straw is I loaded the newest ITunes and IPhone update this morning. The brand new one. It STILL doesn't work. Is anyone from APPLE listening???? This is clearly NOT a random event, and as owners of 4 IPods, 3 IPhones, and an IPad, we're really getting upset with Apple. My Iphones and IPad sync fine, but I'm running Windows 7 on a different computer. We're not novice Apple users and this is beyond frustrating. The bad part about all this is the apparent lack of response from APPLE on this issue is greatly influencing our thoughts on future APPLE purchases. They make great products, but the service when there is an issue is the key to retaining customers.

This is how Apple handles photos.
ALL photos synced to iphone will be in the Photo Library. Those exact same photos ( NOT duplicates ) can be accessed via the folder you synced. Just as a song is in your itunes library and you can access that exact same song from a playlist.
There is only one copy of the pic.

How do you share photos so other users on computer can view photos in a shared folder?

I have a Apple 2 TB Time Capsule running on a 27" iMAC.
I contacted Apple Phone Support to help instruct me last month on how to set up a shared folder so all users on this computer and people connected to my network iwthin the home can share family & vacation photos. Apple Support ran me through several steps to set this up although I can't seem to re-figure these steps out. Phone Support contract ended.
I currently have a shared folder set up and gave all computer and network users read & write access to view folder. When I did this last month, I was able to set up one person who was successful in being able view and upload the photos to the shared folder. Trying to provide wife access to Shared Folder and have been unsuccessful in doing this.
Can someone please attempt to provide instruction (step by step) on how to provide users access to a created Shared Folder. I have spent two evening attempting to figure this out with no success.
Would greatly appreciate assistance.

Can I view the photos in my Pictures folder as a slide show

I store my photographs in the Pictures folder (Album?) rather than any other app. I have organised my photos into folders within this main folder. Is there a way to view the photos in a particular folder as a slide show? This was possible in my Windows XP computer. Many thanks in advance.

Select all the images you want in the slideshow and then press option space bar.

MSS Employee search; Remember last "Group of organization view"

I have a business requirement that the "employee search" has to remember the users last selected view in "employee selection".
Day 1: The user default gets "direct employees" (due to customizing) and changes the selection to "all employees".
Day 2: The user default gets "alle employees"
Can that be done?

The cache lifetime (teamviewer.sap.xss.tmv.cachemaxage) is set to 1 by the system as standard.
No matter if I put 0 or 1 or 9 or 99 or 100 the result is the same ......
When I return to the page, the Employee search shows "Direct reports".
So.... it doesnt work for me

Remember last view not working properly

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. Recently, the remember last view or whatever it is called is not functioning properly.
Some images that I scan, unfortunately, are scanned unside down. I will rotate it to the proper angle and assume that
acrobat will rememeber, but it doesn't. It does this only for some files. I have tried saving the new document with adjusted angle
as a new save file, but it refuses to remember. What's going on? Can someone explain? Thanks.

Tell iphoto to view photos from a predefined folder and not copy them

I am using iphoto 09 and was wondering if we can tell iphoto to take photos from a particular folder and not copy the photos in its own set of folders. I don't want to have duplicates.
I already had structured my folders in a certain way and I don't want Iphoto copying them again.

Best way of working: Recreate your folders in the iPhoto Window and forget about your own.

Iweb photo viewer

Hi,
I made my website in Iweb 3.0.1 and want to display some photo's. Unfortunately, I don't like the theme/template of the Iweb and I would like to use another one for example something like this: http://michielbrouwer.com/index.html (click UNHEIMISCH)
I'm NOT familiar with html and java so I'm looking for a photo viewer that I can easily drag into Iweb and update my photo's onto.

1. How do I upload my "portraits" folder to the root folder on my server at Godaddy? I went to my godaddy's account page, but couldn't locate anything where I can upload a folder... Do I simply call them and ask them? If I have to, what specifically do I have to ask for?

Drag drop photo import to aperture folder why auto new project folder appear .

i do import photos from desktop to folder that i want in the aperture libary . as soon as i drag and drop photos automatically new peoject folder appear in the libabry as name untitled project.. why? i dont want that new project folder. i try to delete that folder and my picture all automatically deleted from library.
also if i try to delete photos from preject folder .. it completely deleted from master library .. picture will be lost.. why?
i drag and move pictures to brand new album or folder .. then try to delete wanted project folder - master picture are all gone.
now i have at least 30-40 of untitled project folder in the library ... pictrure are not movable i meant you can move but u still have to keep old project folder to avoid master picture can not be deleted ...
someone help me? did i make myself clear?

You might read the manual or the Help as this is all covered there.
If you want to import to a specific project use the File -> Import option. You can select your destination there.
Every photo in a Library is in a project. Projects are the basic building block of the Library. That's why.
Folders don't contain photos. They can contain Projects or Albums. These contain photos. Albums don't contain the actual photos, just links to them. So if you add a photo to an Album and then delete the project... you delete the photo.
Remember: you don't move photos to an Album, you add them.

Moving Photos to a new folder in Lightroom 1.3.1 using Mac OS 10.5.1 Doesn't Work

I use an iMac with OS 10.5.1 and Lightroom 1.3.1.
First, I successfully imported the photos from my Epson P-2000 to a folder (Germany) which I created as part of the import into Lightroom (for File Handling in the Import dialog I used Copy Photos to a new location and Import).
Next, I created a new folder (Berlin) using the Lightroom folder panel and dragged some photos from the Germany folder into the new Berlin subfolder. Although the photos appear in the Berlin subfolder, they are still also in the parent, Germany folder.
Also, I would have thought that I could select photos and then use the Edit menu's Cut and Paste commands to move the photos. But even though I have selected images in the Grid view, these commands are grayed out.
I don't want to copy the photos - I want to move them. And I did not think that the same photo could be in two different folders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you seeing this only in Lightroom? They are not 'still in the parent, Germany folder.' only visible their if you have 'Include Photos from Subitems' checked in the Menu/Library of Library.
Uncheck that you you will only see them in their correct folders.

How do I move photos to a new folder without it showing in the original folder

I am trying to rearrange my iPhoto 11 folders. Every time I move a photo to a new album it stays in the original folder. If I delete the photo it is gone from both the folder and the album I created. Is there a way to do this. I am trying to separate pictures taken on my iPhone.

First off since we can only communicate via words using the correct words is critical
Folders in iPhoto do not hold photos - folders hold albums or other folders
Albums hold photos
Events hold photos
Alnums and folders are used to organize photos
Alnums are really just pointers to photos in events so any change mad eto a photo in an event, in photo view or in any album it is in is reflected everywhere
If you want to move phots between albums simply drag them
If you want to move photos between events flag them in teh source event and teh select the destination event and add flagged photos to selected event

How do I rename a photo in the iphoto folder?

OK, so I know that you can change the name of a photo while in iphoto by simply pressing the "i" button at the bottom left, but that doesn't change the actual name of the file.
And I know that I can do that by going to Share-Export-Use Title and then put it in the same file that the original picture is in.
My question is....if you do that, then you have two of the same pictures in the same folder (one with the name you gave it and one with a name the computer gave it...some IMG_0812.JPG name), so after I've done this, can I delete the original picture with the numbered name so that I only have the picture with the name I gave it to reduce clutter?
Anyone? Anyone? I ask this question because I'm an organized freak and hate when I need to go and attach a photo I need to know when I took the photo (the month and date) and then all I see are numbers for the names.

That depends on how you "put" the renamed export into the "same file." You can Import it into your iPhoto library. If you use the Finder or a Save dialog to save directly into the iPhoto Library folder then this photo will not be recognized by the database.

If you imported the renamed Export properly, and now see both versions of the photo in the library (within the iPhoto application), then yes, you can place the first version in the iPhoto Trash, then Empty iPhoto Trash. Absolutely do not do any of this from within the Finder.

Don't root around inside the iPhoto Library folder to find your photos for attachments or uploading.
Why: iPhoto is a database application, not a file browser. You aren't supposed to go inside the iPhoto Library folder at all. See this from the iPhoto Help, under "About using the iPhoto Library":
"IMPORTANT: There is also an "iPhoto Library" folder located in the Pictures folder in your home folder, outside the iPhoto application. If you move, delete, rename, or otherwise touch files or folders within this folder, you may be unable to see your pictures in the iPhoto application.
"The files within this folder should only be manipulated by a customer care representative."
To access your photos, use iPhoto. They are perfectly organized and easy to find, with all of iPhoto's tools at your service. No need to remember the date you took the picture. When you need to upload or attach your photos, select them in iPhoto and do a Share > Export to a Desktop folder. Attach or upload from that folder, then trash it when you are finished.
If you absolutely want to rename your photos it's best to do this before importing into iPhoto. You can use Image Capture (look in your Applications folder) to upload from your camera to a Desktop folder. Use the Finder to preview and rename the files to your liking. Name the folder the way you want the Film Roll to be named in iPhoto. Import the folder into iPhoto, and then delete the one on your Desktop.
But do learn to keep out of the iPhoto Library folder when you are in the Finder. Tampering inside that folder causes much of the damage that I see people coming here to try to repair. Once your photos are inside the iPhoto library, it's best to use iPhoto to do what you want with them.

Can't get photos in iCloud upload folder on pc to upload - help?

I've asked this question before but no answer for the problem. I believe I have everything set up properly on all my iOs devices and on my PC (where I have the iCloud control panel working). The problem is that any pictures I drop into the Upload folder for photostream don't ever upload to the cloud. All the pics I take on my iPhone or iPad will show up in the download folder on my PC, but not the other way around. I've logged out of iCloud on the PC and logged back in but hasn't helped. I've changed the upload folder, but that doesn't matter.
We take lots of photos that are loaded by SD card onto our pc and want many of them loaded to iCloud for viewing on our iOs devices but just can't figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated!

Two tips:
(1) Are you sure that the "My Photostream" function on each and every one of your iOS devices is turned ON?
(2) In my experience, once the My Photostream function is on, dragging and dropping still photos into the Uploads folder works. But it does not (for me, at least) work for videos. I thought it would.

When exporting photo to my pictures folder it shows up as a soft color & no photo..Please help

When exporting my edited pictures to a folder in m Pictures it goes as a blank soft color but no photo. It looks like a tiny dot and when you open it, it is a soft color.. Please help!

I am trying to send as attachement. I have tried to screen shot but must not have a clue how to! Is there a number someone can walk me through this.. or if you could tell me how to screen shot it. I am trying the print screen but not working. I have never done on a computer before. My system is Dell Pentium Dual Core [email protected] 4.00GB 64 Bit Windows Vista. I tried to download a trial of LR4 so I could get some work done until prob fixed but it tells me my system not compatible. I am thinking of creative cloud but will this work with my system. I use LR for 100% of my editing but have been doing other things (newborns) where I feel I need CS6. If you could let me know what I need to do to run the new LR and CS6 that would be great. (Really need a computer class)! Thanks

Navigating through photos in single-photo view in iphoto with trackpad is not working after installing new OS Mountain lion

I have recently download new OS Mountain lion on my macbook (white late 2010 model). I had snow leopard before.
On iphoto, when i was viewing my photos in a single-photo view (double clicking on a photo), i was unable to go to the next photo/previous photo using my trackpad. Only way i could do this was by pressing arrow buttons on my key board.
If i remember correctly, i was able to do this by using 3 fingers (sliding left to right or sliding right to left) on snow leopard.
I can navigate back and foward on my internet browser using two fingers. And yes, i have tried using my two fingers on iphoto but nothing happens.
I have checked my trackpad setting and everything seems to be right.
Any ideas how i could fix this?

This works here - but I'm on iPhoto 11. IIRC it worked on 09 too though.
