Reminder connection still active

While I'm online i get a pop up window about the internet connection, a reminder that the connection is still active and if i want to remain connected. Is there a way to increase the time before the reminder appears. Its frustrating while watching movies
Thanks!

Ah, there's the issue then!
The option to disable that does exist, but it's kinda buried.
Note: these instructions are from OS X 10.5, Leopard, and may differ from other versions. If you don't find the checkbox, let me know what OS you're using, and where you get stuck, and I'll see if I can find it!
System Preferences>Network, then choose PPPoE in the list at the left. Click the Advanced button. Chose the PPP tab here. Is there a checkmark next to "Prompt ever x minutes to maintain connection"? If so, that's the cause of your trouble. Uncheck the box, click OK, and you should be all set!

  • "Rewire Connection Still Active" - But I'm Not Running Any Rewire Apps?

    GarageBand '08 is working great, but when I try to quit, I get a dialog box saying "Rewire Connection Still Active. Close the Rewire application before closing Garage Band." But, I'm not running any Rewire applications.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks in advance to all for any info.

    Welcome to the forums.
    1. You're in the iTunes for Mac forum - there is also iTunes for Windows forums.
    2. Any incomplete downloads are marked as such and should still be available for completion.
    3. Explorer is not relevant - all downloads come direct from the iTunes Music Store.
    4. You can contact Apple from their website if you are getting download problems and being charged
    5. Have a look here : http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6142_102-0.html?threadID=254032
    (avoid wifi and simultaneous downloads if possible).

    What IOS and OS are you using Elissa.  I think from your post it used to work but has dropped off, is that correct or has it never worked?  If it did wotk has anything changed?  Check your wifi use with sopmething like istumbler to see if it is being used by neighbours etc?

  • ITunes RADIO is not working.  "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again." Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so -  iTu

    iTunes RADIO is not working.
    “iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.” Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so …
    iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
    Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
    Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
    Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
    Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
    Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
    Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.
    Solve this problem of yours ASAP for us, your numerous disgruntled, dissatisfied customers of iTunes. You can do better, should, and really –in all fairness- must.

    NOTE:  no password for iTunes exists in my Keychain. Is this a problem?
    Apple ACCOUNT ID, and iTunes ID password, works but not to access iTunes with my healthy internet connection.
    Apple store id It works via direct internet connetion but not through iTunes.  Very strange.

    When trying to connect to the itunes store on my MacBook Pro, I get the following error message: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store.  An unknown error occurred (-54) Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

    I've had the same problem for a month and yet I still cant get iTunes to work, I've heard different solutions but none have worked for me
    This may or may not work for you but its worth a try even though it didnt seem to work for me, Good Luck!

  • Error message we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active

    Can Anyone help with this message which occurs when I am trying to update my iMatch, it says "gathering information about your library" & then after a few mins when the progress band gets almost to the end, I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active & try again"
    Support has told me that its a problem with my connection, but I disagree, how come I can download countless songs from iTunes without ever getting this message, I think they are bullsh***g me to get rid of me.
    I have even followed their advice & totally disabled all my antivirus, adwatch & firewall software & it still does it.
    Can anyone help with this

    Hi mate, well I really dont know why but last night it started to work out of the blue, you might want to check yours again as they may have fixed a bug??
    I did absoultely nothing different yesterday to make it start working, I had previously disabled all my antivirus, firewall, anti tracker etc etc & it didnt sort it.
    The only thing that happened yesterday was my laptop went dead flat & I had to a reboot (dont choose System Resume, which I normally do) I chose the other option in error & had to wait nearly an hour whilst my PC "repaired files etc" & it also downloaded a load of updates (had that message "dont power off, as updates are in progress")
    I really dont know if that sorted the issue or Apple fixed the bug yesterday but its working.
    Good luck

  • Back ground job - report, is scheduled 49 hrs ago, still ACTIVE??

    Hi Experts,
    Pls. clarify one of my simple doubt that, Weather a report(which has only one SELECT statement, with key in WHERE clause) wuld take 49 hours to execute? bcoz, I scheduled a back ground job for my_report, 49 hours ago, its still ACTIVE, OR does it went to infinitive loop?
    thanq

    Hi
    no one select query won't take that mucj of time
    may be that program went in infinite loop
    please check with that
    reward if useful
    <b>below is the best way to write a select query</b>
    Ways of Performance Tuning
    1.     Selection Criteria
    2.     Select Statements
    •     Select Queries
    •     SQL Interface
    •     Aggregate Functions
    •     For all Entries
    Select Over more than one Internal table
    Selection Criteria
    1.     Restrict the data to the selection criteria itself, rather than filtering it out using the ABAP code using CHECK statement.
    2.     Select with selection list.
    Points # 1/2
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK INTO SBOOK_WA.
      CHECK: SBOOK_WA-CARRID = 'LH' AND
             SBOOK_WA-CONNID = '0400'.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code can be much more optimized by the code written below which avoids CHECK, selects with selection list
    SELECT  CARRID CONNID FLDATE BOOKID FROM SBOOK INTO TABLE T_SBOOK
      WHERE SBOOK_WA-CARRID = 'LH' AND
                  SBOOK_WA-CONNID = '0400'.
    Select Statements   Select Queries
    1.     Avoid nested selects
    2.     Select all the records in a single shot using into table clause of select statement rather than to use Append statements.
    3.     When a base table has multiple indices, the where clause should be in the order of the index, either a primary or a secondary index.
    4.     For testing existence , use Select.. Up to 1 rows statement instead of a Select-Endselect-loop with an Exit.
    5.     Use Select Single if all primary key fields are supplied in the Where condition .
    Point # 1
    SELECT * FROM EKKO INTO EKKO_WA.
      SELECT * FROM EKAN INTO EKAN_WA
          WHERE EBELN = EKKO_WA-EBELN.
      ENDSELECT.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code can be much more optimized by the code written below.
    SELECT PF1 PF2 FF3 FF4 INTO TABLE ITAB
        FROM EKKO AS P INNER JOIN EKAN AS F
          ON PEBELN = FEBELN.
    Note: A simple SELECT loop is a single database access whose result is passed to the ABAP program line by line. Nested SELECT loops mean that the number of accesses in the inner loop is multiplied by the number of accesses in the outer loop. One should therefore use nested SELECT loops  only if the selection in the outer loop contains very few lines or the outer loop is a SELECT SINGLE statement.
    Point # 2
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK INTO SBOOK_WA.
      CHECK: SBOOK_WA-CARRID = 'LH' AND
             SBOOK_WA-CONNID = '0400'.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code can be much more optimized by the code written below which avoids CHECK, selects with selection list and puts the data in one shot using into table
    SELECT  CARRID CONNID FLDATE BOOKID FROM SBOOK INTO TABLE T_SBOOK
      WHERE SBOOK_WA-CARRID = 'LH' AND
                  SBOOK_WA-CONNID = '0400'.
    Point # 3
    To choose an index, the optimizer checks the field names specified in the where clause and then uses an index that has the same order of the fields . In certain scenarios, it is advisable to check whether a new index can speed up the performance of a program. This will come handy in programs that access data from the finance tables.
    Point # 4
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK INTO SBOOK_WA
      UP TO 1 ROWS
      WHERE CARRID = 'LH'.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code is more optimized as compared to the code mentioned below for testing existence of a record.
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK INTO SBOOK_WA
        WHERE CARRID = 'LH'.
      EXIT.
    ENDSELECT.
    Point # 5
    If all primary key fields are supplied in the Where condition you can even use Select Single.
    Select Single requires one communication with the database system, whereas Select-Endselect needs two.
    Select Statements           contd..  SQL Interface
    1.     Use column updates instead of single-row updates
    to update your database tables.
    2.     For all frequently used Select statements, try to use an index.
    3.     Using buffered tables improves the performance considerably.
    Point # 1
    SELECT * FROM SFLIGHT INTO SFLIGHT_WA.
      SFLIGHT_WA-SEATSOCC =
        SFLIGHT_WA-SEATSOCC - 1.
      UPDATE SFLIGHT FROM SFLIGHT_WA.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above mentioned code can be more optimized by using the following code
    UPDATE SFLIGHT
           SET SEATSOCC = SEATSOCC - 1.
    Point # 2
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK CLIENT SPECIFIED INTO SBOOK_WA
      WHERE CARRID = 'LH'
        AND CONNID = '0400'.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above mentioned code can be more optimized by using the following code
    SELECT * FROM SBOOK CLIENT SPECIFIED INTO SBOOK_WA
      WHERE MANDT IN ( SELECT MANDT FROM T000 )
        AND CARRID = 'LH'
        AND CONNID = '0400'.
    ENDSELECT.
    Point # 3
    Bypassing the buffer increases the network considerably
    SELECT SINGLE * FROM T100 INTO T100_WA
      BYPASSING BUFFER
      WHERE     SPRSL = 'D'
            AND ARBGB = '00'
            AND MSGNR = '999'.
    The above mentioned code can be more optimized by using the following code
    SELECT SINGLE * FROM T100  INTO T100_WA
      WHERE     SPRSL = 'D'
            AND ARBGB = '00'
            AND MSGNR = '999'.
    Select Statements       contd…           Aggregate Functions
    •     If you want to find the maximum, minimum, sum and average value or the count of a database column, use a select list with aggregate functions instead of computing the aggregates yourself.
    Some of the Aggregate functions allowed in SAP are  MAX, MIN, AVG, SUM, COUNT, COUNT( * )
    Consider the following extract.
                Maxno = 0.
                Select * from zflight where airln = ‘LF’ and cntry = ‘IN’.
                 Check zflight-fligh > maxno.
                 Maxno = zflight-fligh.
                Endselect.
    The  above mentioned code can be much more optimized by using the following code.
    Select max( fligh ) from zflight into maxno where airln = ‘LF’ and cntry = ‘IN’.
    Select Statements    contd…For All Entries
    •     The for all entries creates a where clause, where all the entries in the driver table are combined with OR. If the number of entries in the driver table is larger than rsdb/max_blocking_factor, several similar SQL statements are executed to limit the length of the WHERE clause.
         The plus
    •     Large amount of data
    •     Mixing processing and reading of data
    •     Fast internal reprocessing of data
    •     Fast
         The Minus
    •     Difficult to program/understand
    •     Memory could be critical (use FREE or PACKAGE size)
    Points to be must considered FOR ALL ENTRIES
    •     Check that data is present in the driver table
    •     Sorting the driver table
    •     Removing duplicates from the driver table
    Consider the following piece of extract
    Loop at int_cntry.
           Select single * from zfligh into int_fligh
    where cntry = int_cntry-cntry.
    Append int_fligh.
    Endloop.
    The above mentioned can be more optimized by using the following code.
    Sort int_cntry by cntry.
    Delete adjacent duplicates from int_cntry.
    If NOT int_cntry[] is INITIAL.
                Select * from zfligh appending table int_fligh
                For all entries in int_cntry
                Where cntry = int_cntry-cntry.
    Endif.
    Select Statements    contd…  Select Over more than one Internal table
    1.     Its better to use a views instead of nested Select statements.
    2.     To read data from several logically connected tables use a join instead of nested Select statements. Joins are preferred only if all the primary key are available in WHERE clause for the tables that are joined. If the primary keys are not provided in join the Joining of tables itself takes time.
    3.     Instead of using nested Select loops it is often better to use subqueries.
    Point # 1
    SELECT * FROM DD01L INTO DD01L_WA
      WHERE DOMNAME LIKE 'CHAR%'
            AND AS4LOCAL = 'A'.
      SELECT SINGLE * FROM DD01T INTO DD01T_WA
        WHERE   DOMNAME    = DD01L_WA-DOMNAME
            AND AS4LOCAL   = 'A'
            AND AS4VERS    = DD01L_WA-AS4VERS
            AND DDLANGUAGE = SY-LANGU.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code can be more optimized by extracting all the data from view DD01V_WA
    SELECT * FROM DD01V INTO  DD01V_WA
      WHERE DOMNAME LIKE 'CHAR%'
            AND DDLANGUAGE = SY-LANGU.
    ENDSELECT
    Point # 2
    SELECT * FROM EKKO INTO EKKO_WA.
      SELECT * FROM EKAN INTO EKAN_WA
          WHERE EBELN = EKKO_WA-EBELN.
      ENDSELECT.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above code can be much more optimized by the code written below.
    SELECT PF1 PF2 FF3 FF4 INTO TABLE ITAB
        FROM EKKO AS P INNER JOIN EKAN AS F
          ON PEBELN = FEBELN.
    Point # 3
    SELECT * FROM SPFLI
      INTO TABLE T_SPFLI
      WHERE CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
        AND CITYTO = 'NEW YORK'.
    SELECT * FROM SFLIGHT AS F
        INTO SFLIGHT_WA
        FOR ALL ENTRIES IN T_SPFLI
        WHERE SEATSOCC < F~SEATSMAX
          AND CARRID = T_SPFLI-CARRID
          AND CONNID = T_SPFLI-CONNID
          AND FLDATE BETWEEN '19990101' AND '19990331'.
    ENDSELECT.
    The above mentioned code can be even more optimized by using subqueries instead of for all entries.
    SELECT * FROM SFLIGHT AS F INTO SFLIGHT_WA
        WHERE SEATSOCC < F~SEATSMAX
          AND EXISTS ( SELECT * FROM SPFLI
                         WHERE CARRID = F~CARRID
                           AND CONNID = F~CONNID
                           AND CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
                           AND CITYTO = 'NEW YORK' )
          AND FLDATE BETWEEN '19990101' AND '19990331'.
    ENDSELECT.
    1.     Table operations should be done using explicit work areas rather than via header lines.
    2.     Always try to use binary search instead of linear search. But don’t forget to sort your internal table before that.
    3.     A dynamic key access is slower than a static one, since the key specification must be evaluated at runtime.
    4.     A binary search using secondary index takes considerably less time.
    5.     LOOP ... WHERE is faster than LOOP/CHECK because LOOP ... WHERE evaluates the specified condition internally.
    6.     Modifying selected components using “ MODIFY itab …TRANSPORTING f1 f2.. “ accelerates the task of updating  a line of an internal table.
    Point # 2
    READ TABLE ITAB INTO WA WITH KEY K = 'X‘ BINARY SEARCH.
    IS MUCH FASTER THAN USING
    READ TABLE ITAB INTO WA WITH KEY K = 'X'.
    If TAB has n entries, linear search runs in O( n ) time, whereas binary search takes only O( log2( n ) ).
    Point # 3
    READ TABLE ITAB INTO WA WITH KEY K = 'X'. IS FASTER THAN USING
    READ TABLE ITAB INTO WA WITH KEY (NAME) = 'X'.
    Point # 5
    LOOP AT ITAB INTO WA WHERE K = 'X'.
    ENDLOOP.
    The above code is much faster than using
    LOOP AT ITAB INTO WA.
      CHECK WA-K = 'X'.
    ENDLOOP.
    Point # 6
    WA-DATE = SY-DATUM.
    MODIFY ITAB FROM WA INDEX 1 TRANSPORTING DATE.
    The above code is more optimized as compared to
    WA-DATE = SY-DATUM.
    MODIFY ITAB FROM WA INDEX 1.
    7.     Accessing the table entries directly in a "LOOP ... ASSIGNING ..." accelerates the task of updating a set of lines of an internal table considerably
    8.    If collect semantics is required, it is always better to use to COLLECT rather than READ BINARY and then ADD.
    9.    "APPEND LINES OF itab1 TO itab2" accelerates the task of appending a table to another table considerably as compared to “ LOOP-APPEND-ENDLOOP.”
    10.   “DELETE ADJACENT DUPLICATES“ accelerates the task of deleting duplicate entries considerably as compared to “ READ-LOOP-DELETE-ENDLOOP”.
    11.   "DELETE itab FROM ... TO ..." accelerates the task of deleting a sequence of lines considerably as compared to “  DO -DELETE-ENDDO”.
    Point # 7
    Modifying selected components only makes the program faster as compared to Modifying all lines completely.
    e.g,
    LOOP AT ITAB ASSIGNING <WA>.
      I = SY-TABIX MOD 2.
      IF I = 0.
        <WA>-FLAG = 'X'.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    The above code works faster as compared to
    LOOP AT ITAB INTO WA.
      I = SY-TABIX MOD 2.
      IF I = 0.
        WA-FLAG = 'X'.
        MODIFY ITAB FROM WA.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    Point # 8
    LOOP AT ITAB1 INTO WA1.
      READ TABLE ITAB2 INTO WA2 WITH KEY K = WA1-K BINARY SEARCH.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
        ADD: WA1-VAL1 TO WA2-VAL1,
             WA1-VAL2 TO WA2-VAL2.
        MODIFY ITAB2 FROM WA2 INDEX SY-TABIX TRANSPORTING VAL1 VAL2.
      ELSE.
        INSERT WA1 INTO ITAB2 INDEX SY-TABIX.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    The above code uses BINARY SEARCH for collect semantics. READ BINARY runs in O( log2(n) ) time. The above piece of code can be more optimized by
    LOOP AT ITAB1 INTO WA.
      COLLECT WA INTO ITAB2.
    ENDLOOP.
    SORT ITAB2 BY K.
    COLLECT, however, uses a hash algorithm and is therefore independent
    of the number of entries (i.e. O(1)) .
    Point # 9
    APPEND LINES OF ITAB1 TO ITAB2.
    This is more optimized as compared to
    LOOP AT ITAB1 INTO WA.
      APPEND WA TO ITAB2.
    ENDLOOP.
    Point # 10
    DELETE ADJACENT DUPLICATES FROM ITAB COMPARING K.
    This is much more optimized as compared to
    READ TABLE ITAB INDEX 1 INTO PREV_LINE.
    LOOP AT ITAB FROM 2 INTO WA.
      IF WA = PREV_LINE.
        DELETE ITAB.
      ELSE.
        PREV_LINE = WA.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    Point # 11
    DELETE ITAB FROM 450 TO 550.
    This is much more optimized as compared to
    DO 101 TIMES.
      DELETE ITAB INDEX 450.
    ENDDO.
    12.   Copying internal tables by using “ITAB2[ ] = ITAB1[ ]” as compared to “LOOP-APPEND-ENDLOOP”.
    13.   Specify the sort key as restrictively as possible to run the program faster.
    Point # 12
    ITAB2[] = ITAB1[].
    This is much more optimized as compared to
    REFRESH ITAB2.
    LOOP AT ITAB1 INTO WA.
      APPEND WA TO ITAB2.
    ENDLOOP.
    Point # 13
    “SORT ITAB BY K.” makes the program runs faster as compared to “SORT ITAB.”
    Internal Tables         contd…
    Hashed and Sorted tables
    1.     For single read access hashed tables are more optimized as compared to sorted tables.
    2.      For partial sequential access sorted tables are more optimized as compared to hashed tables
    Hashed And Sorted Tables
    Point # 1
    Consider the following example where HTAB is a hashed table and STAB is a sorted table
    DO 250 TIMES.
      N = 4 * SY-INDEX.
      READ TABLE HTAB INTO WA WITH TABLE KEY K = N.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
      ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    This runs faster for single read access as compared to the following same code for sorted table
    DO 250 TIMES.
      N = 4 * SY-INDEX.
      READ TABLE STAB INTO WA WITH TABLE KEY K = N.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
      ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    Point # 2
    Similarly for Partial Sequential access the STAB runs faster as compared to HTAB
    LOOP AT STAB INTO WA WHERE K = SUBKEY.
    ENDLOOP.
    This runs faster as compared to
    LOOP AT HTAB INTO WA WHERE K = SUBKEY.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Why is the icon for syncing still active after disconnecting?

    My phone got stuck on step 6 when I updated and backed up my files during iOS 7 upgrade. I tried to cancel and start over but it was still stuck on trying to transfer music. As far as I can tell, I still have all the music I want on my phone. The icon to disconnect is still active on my home screen. Why does it keep doing that? Is it an indication it's not finished sync in or that it's always syncing through a wi-fi connection? I'm already on the iOS 7 platform.

  • Checking if resultset still active?

    I want to return a ResultSet which basically handles some query i.e.
    public ResultSet doSomething(int chr, int startPos, int endPos, int strainsThreshold, float minGeneDensity) throws SQLException {
                    String someQuery = "";
              // this should force incremental streaming of a large result set
              if(conn != null){
              stmt = conn.createStatement(java.sql.ResultSet.TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY,
                       java.sql.ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
              stmt.setFetchSize(Integer.MIN_VALUE);
              return stmt.executeQuery(someQuery);
              }else
              return null;
         }This is running in a web application. However, if I stop a query running halfway through e.g. by pressing the stop button on the browser and then re-run the query the current resultSet is still active and throws an exception. Checking the API states that when the statement is fully executed the resultSet will be closed automatically but in this case it isn't. Is there any way of checking whether the resultSet is active or a way of closing it if a query ends prematurely?

    I suspect you need to change your function so it is tread safe. That way, a second sql request can be made even if the first one is pending. In your function, do the following (note all variables except dataSource are local variables so its thread safe): Note you can't return the resultSet because its closed within the function before the function is returned. Instead, copy the data from the resultSet into some type of array. (resultSet.getString("firstName") ) and return the array.
    public ArrayList myFunction(){
    Connection conn=null;
    PreparedStatement pstmt1= null;
    ResultSet resultSet=null
    ArrayList list1=new ArrayList();
    try{
    conn= dataSource.getConnection();
    pstmt1= conn.prepareStatement();
    resultSet= pstmt1.executeQuery();
    while(resultSet.next()){
    arrayList.add(resultSet.getString("lastName");
    return arrayList;
    } catch (SqlException e){
    } finally {
    if(rsultSet!=null)
    resultSet.close();
    if(pstmt1!=null)
    pstmt1.close();
    if(conn!=null)
    conn.close();
    Next, on your JSP page block you submit button from being clicked more than once until the page is re-rendered with the response from the server.
    If your query takes a long time to run and the user would consider trying to kill it, you cant. The database will execute the query to completion. I suggest instead limiting the amount of data fetched so its doesnt take so long. Add a filter to the page. Example: a textfield to filter by last Name. Enter 'B' in the textfield, and programmatically change the sql to 'select * from person where lastName like 'B%'.

    When updating to iOS 5.0.1. get the err -3259, thus unable to install new iOS. The message I receive goes: "THE NETWORK CONNECTION TIMED OUT.  MAKE SURE YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS ARE CORRECT AND YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION IS ACTIVE, OR TRY AGAIN LATER."
    Does anyone know how to solve this tiresome problem, please!?? The update is downloaded upto 723.5MB, and is required upto 723,6MB, then the error message pops out! Tnx.

    I have a quick wifi connection (Mac shows it as about 35 megabits) but I couldn't get the 5.0.1 OTA to work, I had to do it via cable to my computer's iTunes - and as I was already on iOS 5 it was only a small download, basically the same size as the OTA size.
    As the original poster is talking about a 730 meg download then I assume that they are still on iOS 4.3.5 or below and can therefore only download via their computer's iTunes - you need to be on iOS 5+ before you get the OTA option.

  • Moving Home, line still active in another name.

    I am moving home and trying to have a phone line connected. However, BT say that the phone line is still 'active' at the premises and the previous occupant will have to be contacted to have the line deactivated. Here's the rub, the previous occupant died some 3 months ago. BT refuse to have the line deactivated simply on mine or my landlords say so and that only a relative of the deceased can authorise them to deactivate. Another however, they are quite willing to 'transfer' the line to my name providing I take out a 12 month contract with them. How is this possible? If they can't deactivate the line, how are they able to transfer it to me providing if I take out a contract with them? This sounds very much like restrictive practice and I would like some advice on the matter.

    Hi chrisjpr
    BT can't just deactivate a line they can however apply for a transfer like most providers so if the line is active in someone elses name or with another provider then your order is progressed as a working line takeover ,BT or whatever provider you choose to go with will attempt to take over and notify the occupier if any and if after 11-14 days they don't reply the line is taken over into your name,this is standard process so not BTs fault,if the person is deceased BT can't just take a 3rd partys word for it unless a authorized person acting onbehalf of the account holder calls to notify BT to advise of the deceased and request the line be ceased,they have to go down the proper channels and allow the lead time set by the regulator that said it is unfortunate that the person is deceased but your 11-14 day lead time for having a line active/transfered in your name is nothing in comparison to the previous occupant being deceased,puts things in prospective I say,bite the bullet my friend and wait

    Can not restore ipad 2. Unable to connect to activation server, server is temporarily unavailable??

    Hi Anson/JimHdk,
    I triple checked to makes sure my SSID and passwords are right.
    I found the MAC Address filter is not turned on...
    I don't think there's maximum number of connection for the router (I turned my 2 other devices on Airplane mode when checking) and it still didn't work.
    I don't know how to durn off DHCP and use static IP address....
    There's no firmware update available for my router as it's 8 years old....
    My brother says I will need to get a new router....   hopefully that will work....
    Thank you both for offering these additional checks!

  • FTP Displays as Disabled via Server Admin, but FTP still active via tnftpd

    Server Admin (v 10.5.3) displays that the FTP service on our box is inactive.
    However, FTP access to the server is still active. When I FTP via command line, I'm informed that tnftpd has allowed me to connect via FTP.
    I'd like to have OS X's built in FTP services disabled so that I can use SFTP only via CrushFTP.
    I can't figure out how to disable/block tnftpd. Any suggestions?
    I tried adding a "nologin" file to /etc, but this ended up causing every shell session to error out with a "access not allowed" error.

    The process was still loaded in launchd, so we just unloaded and that appears to have killed it for good.
    Weird, but that would explain it. I'm just not sure if there's a launchdaemon that would need to be removed to keep it from starting up after a reboot.

  • New RAT Shows 'Snake' Campaign Still Active

    New RAT Shows 'Snake' Campaign Still Active: Researchers....
    After analyzing the new threat, which they have dubbed "ComRAT,"
    In version 3.26, the author changed the key and remove the known file name
    This action can be an indication for the developer’s effort to hide this connection
    ComRAT is more complex and cleverer. The malware is loaded into each and every process of the infected machine and the main part (payload) of the malware is only executed in explorer.exe. Furthermore, the C&C communication
    blends into the usual browser traffic and the malware communicates to the browser by named pipe. It is by far a more complex userland design than Agent.BTZ.

    Questions :
    We have analyzed all the MD5 values, but Microsoft FEP doesn’t have signature to Detect this Variant(but other AV vendors have detected this Variant).
    So we need to know, when Microsoft will come with updated signature to detect this new variant??
    Sample :

    Complete report of this malware below :
    https://blog.gdatasoftware.com/blog/article/the-uroburos-case-new-sophisticated-rat-identified.html.

    I checked the address of virustotal and it indicated that Microsoft will detect it as
    Backdoor:Win32/Turla.Q , when look into details of this malware in Microsoft Malware Protection Center:
    http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?Name=Backdoor%3aWin32%2fTurla.Q
    It is known from Nov 13, 2014 and later on. So FEP should be able to detect it.
    However, if you still believe there is a sample of this malware or any other malware which won't detect by FEP or any other Microsoft Anti-Malware products, you could submit sample to Microsoft Malware Protection Center:
