App store does not open on Macbook pro
For the last couple of months App Store has been inaccessible from my MacBook Pro. The App Intro Screen with the large A just sits there and does nothing. I still get notices of upgrades and am able to do these. But there is no access to the App Store from my own screen.
I have tried trashing the preferences apple appstore plist files but that made no difference.
What do I do to get the App Store app working again?

GarageBand 10.0.2 will not open on MacBook Pro 15-inch, Early 2011 running OSX 10.9.5. w/ 8 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD Samsung 840 EVO.
Have deleted (secure delete) and reinstalled several times. Got it to open once right after download... Usually crashes/hangs upon attempted start-up, then shows as "Application unresponsive". Must be forced to quit.
No other audio interfaces or drivers installed that I am aware of. Office 2008 and 2011 do not open on Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion
Can someone please tell me how to get Microsoft office to open in Mountain Lion. I had Office 2008 when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I could not open it after that so I bought MS Office 2011 and it does not open either. I need to use these applications. What is the fix for this. I unloaded and reloaded 2008 and loaded, unloaded and reloaded 2011 - that does not seem to be the solution. Is there a setting I need to change, or a complete unload I need to do, or what. Can someone give me some answers that work?
Thank you if you can.
ngI don't know about Office, but you can use this for free to get back to work

Image does not display on MacBook Pro (does on PowerBook G4!)
I created a slide in Keynote on my PowerBook G4 with an image dropped in (a pdf, I can't remember whether it was originally cut and past or dragged and dropped in). When transferring the Keynote presentation to a new macBook Pro (copying via a USB thumb drive), the presentation opens but the image does not display (everything else is OK).
The weird thing is that the image does show up in the thumbnail in Navigator View. It disappears in Light Table View, and then is gone when I return back to Navigator View. However, when I close and reopen the file, it appears again in the thumbnail.
When I click on the area where the image should be, the open squares show up around something. If I try to copy this object and past into another application (like Photoshop), I only get a blank image.
I have managed to get around this by laboriously copying the affected images on my PowerBook into separate pdf files, then transferring those files to my MacBook Pro and dropping them into place. However, I know I will find a missing image at some later date, when I no longer have access to my old PowerBook.
How to solve this problem?
P.S. Both machines are running Keynote 4.0.2 and Mac OS 10.5.2.Thanks for taking a look!
The original image was created using Photoshop to cut out an image from a pdf file. Then it was either cut and pasted or dragged into Keynote.
Here are screenshots of what I get when I open the "droppedimage-17.pict" file (shown in the Show Package Contents window) using QuickTime on both machines. For the PowerBook:
http://www.cems.umn.edu/download/attachments/Powerbook.png
For the MacBook Pro:
http://www.cems.umn.edu/download/attachments/MacBook_Pro.png
Strangely, the Powerbook version looks like a correct grey-scale image, while the MacBook Pro looks like a B&W image. -
CS4 Install DVD does not mount on Macbook Pro after Maverick upgrade
I upgraded a Macbook Pro to Maverick from Snow Leopard. I want to install CS4 but when I put the DVD in the Superdrive, it spins and spins and eventually says that the DVD is blank. I have successfully mounted other DVD's so I don't think it is a drive problem. I have also tried the DVD in a newer model Macbook Pro and it mounts successfully. Does anyone have any idea what is causing the problem. More important, is there a different method I can use to install CS4?
I am not saying that the CS4 applications will not work but Adobe has never tested All CS4 applications on MAC Maverick. It might or might not work.

But yes if that works, its good. I just wanted to keep you updated in case in future if the application gives you any issue with the performance.

Youtube does not work in MacBook Pro
Youtube videos do not work in my macbook.
I can goto the website, but when I goto play the video..it does not work...a black box just appears instead of the video.
How do I solve this problem?
I already updated my flash player and reset Safari...still doesn't work.i tried..i did this before...i downloaded again after you sent the link...videos are still not working.
Except for some...but I can't open them up on full screen.
I think some of them are working because I tried this 32-bit thing that I read on the internet written by others who faced te same problem...but I ticked off the 32-bit thing because it didn't work for all the videos...basically..youtube isn't working -
