Reminder: First Hero Open Iteration Meeting on Friday

The Flex SDK team would like to remind folks that the first Hero Open Iteration Meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 1st. The purpose of the Hero Open Iteration meetings is to discuss the changes in development process with the Hero release (the next version of the Flex SDK) as well as review the features (both desktop and mobile) that were completed in past Hero iterations and identify the work that will be tackled in the upcoming iterations. There will be time for some short Q and A with the product team as well. The meeting will be recorded and posted onto the Hero open source site.

Opening a meeting from the popup reminder

In Netscape Calendar, from the popup reminder there was an [undocumented?] keystroke to open the meeting details. If I remember correctly, this was Ctrl+O. This does not work in Oracle Calendar. Nor do any other logical key strokes that I can think of. Can anyone please advise me how to do this. Tx.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

My Iphone 4s can't open Outlook meeting invitations or Outlook Business Contact Cards. How can I change this or do i need to download an app to support this? Please Help!!

My first thought is that this sounds like a memory issue...you may have already treid it, but as a first step, I'd do a double tap on the home button and check ( and stop if necessary) all of the running processes......

When right clicking and selecting, open in new tab and then repeating on a new link, the first link opens again??.. Only happens with OS X

On a page with multiple links I like to right click a few links and get them to open in a new tab. However, about 50% of the time the first link opens twice. It only seems to happen with OS X but have not noticed any similar behaviour with other applications.

When Photoshop CC is executed, the first File- Open takes 30 seconds and every File- Open after that is instant. Why is this?

I have Photoshop CC in my Laptop. When I first load it/execute photoshop, File -> Open it takes approx 30 seconds to return a selection. If I do another File -> Open after this it is instant.
If I Quit Photoshop and reload it the first File -> Open takes another 30 seconds and then instant. It is only the first Occurrence.
I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD 4GB RAM.
If I do start -> Photoshop -> Previously used file it loads no problem.
If I try the same things with Photoshop CS5 no problem.
Why?
Forgot to add that I am running windows 7 x64 if that makes a difference.
I have found the problem. I disconnected the internet from my laptop and it worked instantly. So Adobe you need to improve your response times on this facet of the login as it is a pain.
Now I will stop looking for problems with my system....
Please advise if there is a work around...

Looking at my dbus messages above, the following section from pacman.log looks very suspicious:
$ grep disk /var/log/pacman.log

[2010-04-01 07:52] removed devicekit-disks (009-5)
[2010-04-01 07:52] installed udisks (1.0.0-2)
[2010-04-01 07:53] upgraded gnome-disk-utility (2.28.1-1 -> 2.30.1-1)
[2010-04-10 11:07] upgraded udisks (1.0.0-2 -> 1.0.1-1)
No time currently to check if downgrading these helps. Also looks kinda complicated because udisks replaces devicekit-disks.

OK, the symptoms can be replicated with the following command sequence:
sudo /etc/rc.d/dbus restart
udisks --dump # <-- this takes forever.. 24 seconds on my system
udisks --dump # <-- any subsequent calls finish instantly, 0.043 seconds on my system

Or you may obtain iWork '09 DVD package from Amazon online et al. Sold at very low price now. It is really worth it. Don't forget to apply the iWork 9.0.3 updater after intalling it.

How do I create "Heroes" opening with this?

I just installed this program yesterday and with a little help from my brother I created "Earth rotation".

I want to simulate "Heroes" opening title(on that video ^^ , I still have the project file), doesn't really have to be exact, just Sun popping out for a second, small lens flare no titles.
Original Heroes opening:

There are tutorials for creating the Heroes title out there. A bit of Googling should find it for you.
Basically, you could just add a lens flare (Generate>Lens Flare). There are several tutorials out there for spicing up AE's built-in lens flare and some for creating your own. Also, you could get Optical Flares from Video Copilot or Knoll Light Factory Pro from Red Giant.
Since you're new to AE, I would highly recommend that you start here. AE is not a program that you can just start using without a good foundation in the basics otherwise you will get really frustrated.
