  • Reminder syncing problems

    Today I've been having issues with syncing reminders between my iPhone and iPad.   When I go into the Reminder (or Calendar) app, the spinning gear that indicates it's talking to the servers just spins forever.   Every once and a while it will complete and the reminders will sync, but it took me over 15 minutes of trying to sync a removed reminder between my iPad and iPhone.  About half that time was trying to get the IPad to sync and the other half to get the iPhone to sync.
    It was working fine yesterday, but I don't see any issues listed on the iCloud status page.  I've read a few other reports, though primarily with Macs and not that many.   Is anyone else having this problem with iOS devices?

    Is this spinning going on both of your devices? Are you using any other calendar or reminder apps conflicting with icloud? Does that problem persists more then few hours?

  • Can Reminder sync created list in iOS 5?

    Hi, this is more a iOS 5 Reminders rather than an iPad question.
    Anyways, I use Reminders app a lot but I found that when I create a new list, this list doesn't sync with iCloud, like will do other lists that are tasks in iCal on my Mac. Is this normal?
    So, is there a way to sync those created lists?
    Thanks for your help.

    Me too - I can't open Contacts - when I try it immediately closes.
    I upgraded iPad 2 to IOS 5 last night around 2200 UK time.
    Also when I try to open Mail, Contacts, Calendar in Settings it immediately switches back to the home page.
    All other Settings options appear to open without a problem.
    Lastly I'm unable to make calls through Facetime.
    All three issues appear to be linked to Contacts.
    So far I've Reset All Settings, performed a hard reset and even a restore.  No change.
    I think restore failed because after the reset, the iPad 2 told me to connect to iTunes and it performed a backup immediately without me instructing it too - I'm guessing it backed up whatever the problem is, and then restored me to the same position.
    Very frustrating!!

  • OSX Calendar NOT Syncing with iCloud BUT iOS Devices DO

    So to set the scene....
    I have an early 2009 iMac running Mountain Lion.
    I have 2 x iPhone 4's running iOS 5.1.1.
    I have 1 x iPad (1st Gen) running iOS 5.1.1
    I use to keep mail, contacts and calendar in sync between all the devices using MS Exchange. I recently switched this to iCloud.
    All the Calendars I have are all iCloud (so NO local calendars).
    Mail syncs without any issue.
    Contact syncs without any issue.
    Calendar syncs have an issue with iMac syncing to iCloud.
    To be clear...the following Calendar syncs DO work:
    iPhone #1 --> iCloud
    iPhone #2 --> iCloud
    iPad --> iCloud
    iCloud --> iPhone #1
    iCloud --> iPhone #2
    iCloud --> iPad
    iCloud --> iMac
    Whereas the following Calendar sync DOESN'T work:
    iMac-->iCloud
    What's even stranger is that if I...
    Switch off Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Close calendar
    Wait 5 minutes
    Switch back on Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Open calendar
    ...then the iMac-->iCloud syncing WILL work for a few hours. After a few hours it will stop syncing.
    Thanks for reading. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ben

    Since this post has had no replies, thought I'd comment to see if anyone can answer the above question.  I have the same problem with one exception.  The part that is not syncing is from iCloud to my iMac.  All other sync paths work between my iphone, ipad, and iMac.  If anyone has a fix for this, please share.

  • HT202636 iBooks collections on my iMac don't sync the books to my iphone or iPad

    iBooks collections on my iMac don't sync the books to my iphone or iPad.
    I have both setting on either in iBooks on Mac and both in iPhone and iPad.
    The books are synced but not the collections.

    Okay I feel kind of dumb now for posting but yeah that did the trick.
    I had to disable reminder syncing on my iPhone, delete all reminders and then re-enable remidners and download them again. That immediately caused all reminders created on my Mac to sync properly to my iPhone. Let's hope it doesn't get stuck like that again...

  • Outlook tasks completed in iOS Reminders app regenerate 'orphaned' reminders endlessly in Outlook.

    Our small business runs up-to-date (iOS 8) Apple devices that sync via MS Exchange with our email, contacts, reminders, etc.
    I create a task in Outlook and include a reminder. The task and reminder sync to Reminders on my iPhone and iPad. When I mark a task complete on mobile, the reminder disappears there as it should... but it regenerates the reminder in Outlook! The Outlook task is complete, but the reminder pops up at the top of the list in the Outlook reminders pop-up window. Marking it complete there is an option, but it just regenerates a new reminder. The only way to remove this 'orphan' reminder is to dismiss the reminder or delete the task.
    The iOS 8 Reminders app would be very useful but for this bug. It's even better that it puts my work tasks and home tasks (we use a Mac at home so no problem there) in one place. But as it is, the app is not a time saver, but a time-waster and a source of frustration.
    Please advise!

    I do not know the answerr. Ik also have same question

  • Turning on Reminders without turning on Calendars

    Hello,
    Since Reminders was released, I have had them synced fine between my phone and computer. However, in the past week this is no longer happening. I'd like to turn on my reminders on both my iPhone and MacBook without turning on my iCloud calendar sync. However, it seems that on the iPhone end of things, I can choose to turn on just reminders, while on my computer they are lumped together in the same checkbox (see images.)
    I would be okay with syncing them via my gmail, but again there is a discrepancy in the options I have. On my phone, no reminders option exists, but on my accounts tab on my laptop, there it is: reminder sync with gmail! I have also posted images of this.
    I found out that if you turn on calendars AND reminders on both ends, then the reminders work. Which is not what I want.
    So my question: how can I sync reminders with my computer from my phone, without having to sync my iCloud calendar? Note that i use google calendar exclusively, for work/personal use. I have NEVER used iCloud calendar, never had it synced, and my reminders have worked fine until now.
    UPDATE: before, i could get reminders to work by turning reminders+calendars on and off on both devices in iCloud. now it doesn't work at all, no matter what!

    Gmail:
    I am using mountain lion 10.8.5 and iOS 8.1.2

  • My calandar service (outlook) does, which keeps track of my reminders, does not allow location based reminders?

    I cannot get Siri to setup a location reminder because of outlook. Can anyone tell me how to get around this?

    SOLUTION
    I followed the advice on the link below and it worked.
    The only additional thing I did was switch off the reminders in all of the other email accounts on my phone where they were activated.  I then tried the location based reminders and they worked. I then  switched the reminders back on again and the LBR *still* worked!

  • HT203175 I plugged my iPod into the computer and it says that my iPod is synced with another iTunes library, but it's not. So all my music and apps are gone. What can I do to remind the computer its the right iTunes library and get all my stuff back?

    I plugged my iPod into the computer and it says that my iPod is synced with another iTunes library, but it's not. So all my music and apps are gone. What can I do to remind the computer its the right iTunes library and get all my stuff back?

    Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one.  Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

  • How do I sync a reminder to a specific calendar in Mountain Lion?

    I don't own an iPhone. I just want to be able to sync a new reminder into my Calendar app. I find myself never using the Reminders application since I can't sync it to any calendar on iCloud.
    For example, if I say in Reminders: Have Lunch with Kim at 12pm on October 28th. Is it possible to add this event to my Calendar app instantaneously?
    Thanks.

    Right-click the highlighted word and select either Ignore Spelling (one time only) or Learn Spelling (persistent) from the contextual menu.

  • Is there a way to remind the iPod where it was before the sync?

    I have an old 30GB iPod that I love. It's been with me for a long time and it'll be with me till it dies. My question, however, is this:
    I sync my iPod every day, due to Podcasts. However, every time I do this, the iPod "forgets" where it was before the sync (say, if I was listening to an audiobook or other podcast) and goes back to neutral after the sync. I was wondering if there's some way I can "remind" the iPod where it was prior to the sync and just let it run from there. I can do the "recently played" option, but all that does is show the file to me: I then have to go scrolling around to actually find that file. I was hoping there's something that can do both (show and play).
    Thanks!

    hello Jeff, ive emailed you a few days back about the above problem and also:
    Is it possible having a populated library without needing backup files else where
    is this possible for video and music files as if one of the back up is deleted its deleted in itunes (can not locate file exclamation)even though all file info is still in library
    are itunes video movie music videos easier on battery than converted youtube to ipod compatible at general to high quality? what about converted dvd from the legitiment programs such as likes of aimersoft dvd to ipod package do these files differ in batterylife from itunes movies ?
    that is all. Ive did a test on batterylife of my replaced ipod 80gb classic
    music 38.5 hours
    video 6.30 hours
    I think this is impressive. but I found if I distrubed its play by touching clickwheel to see the battery level it depleted quicker well on the indictor anyway is this so generally in use if it playing a film or video your better not even to disturb it to acheive substanially more play time

  • Reminder. Problem with sync

    I have problem with sync my iPhone and MacBook Pro.
    I have already made a check with the parameter and they're correct.
    For example.
    Yesterday I have made a reminder on the iPhone for today, I have received the alarm, I have changed it on MacBookPro and I have discovered that on the iPhone there isn't the update.

    Hi ...
    On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Reminders then reselect it.
    On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Reminders off then back on.
    Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

  • How to solve sync problem between Outlook calendar and iPhone when reminder is set to _some_ non-standard values?

    Hi,
    I am having a sync problem between my iPhone/iPad and Outlook calendar events (Outlook 2010).
    Here is the description of the problem:
    1. In Outlook - please create a new event/appointment (e.g. "Test").
    2. Reminder is set by default to 15 minutes. You can change it by using a dropdown menu - please select: "0,5 days".
    3. Click on "0,5 days" and change it manually to "14,5 days".
    4. Click on "Save & Close".
    5. (Do not snooze or dismiss the reminder.)
    6. Sync with your iPhone/iPad.
    7. Open this new event on iPhone/iPad - you can see that alert is set to "15 minutes before" instead to a correct value that was set in Outlook.
    The same problem can be seen if you set the reminder to e.g. "3 weeks" (standard value is "2 weeks").
    However, it is interesting that non-standard values like "1,5 days" (and all other until "13,5 days") are synced without any problem.
    Does anyone have a solution how to solve this problem (different than the trivial solution of not using those strange values)?
    Thanks!

    Thanks to another post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/17501071#17501071) I reset the sync history, here is what to do:
    Launch iTunes.
    Before you hook up your iPhone to the PC and iTunes do this: Go to iTunes Edit menu > Preferences… > select the iPhone > click the Reset Synch History button > click OK.
    Connect the iPhone to the PC and let iTunes recognize it.
    In the top right corner is the iPhone icon, click on the left side of the iPhone icon > the iPhone menu launches.
    In the menu along the top click on Info > make your selections > click Sync button > it gives you a dialog at the top with the steps it’s going through during the sync.
    In the top left of the iTunes app > click Exit.
