Reminders alert dysfunctional.

I have just noticed that there appears to be a problem with the way my 3Gs iOS5 alerts me of an alarm in reminders. I have set it to alert me via alerts.
When the phone is locked, the reminder alert goes off at the right time. It vibrate and sounds. I then proceed to unlock the phone and go to the home screen. At no point has an alert popped up on screen. It's supposed to ask me what to do next. But nothing. It took me ages to realise it was a reminder alert that made the noise. I could have easily thought it was an email or even another app. There is no clue what it was the sounded the alarm. If I change the settings of reminders to banner. Then it works perfectly, once unlocked a banner appears at the top of the screen. But why is alert mode not working. I haven't done enough research to figure out whether this issue is isolated to only reminders. Most other apps are set to alert me via banner not alert.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. When I turn on the iPhone, (thus dismissing the alarm), sometimes the events reappear on my ccomputer and sometimes they don't. Apparently we're not alone.

  • Reminders alerts disappear from lock screen

Hi, I'm facing problem with reminders alerts on lockscreen (iPhone 5, ios 8.1.2) Alert stays approx. 15 minutes on the lock screen and suddenly disappears. This happens only for Reminders, other alerts such a missed calls or messages are fine. It drive me crazy. For example when I leave phone and come back in one hour, I can't see missed reminders alerts, because they  already disappeared. I tried disconnect from iCloud (synchronized reminders with Mac book air), reset iPhone settings, completely reset iPhone and install from scratch. But this problem remains. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much!!!

Meanwhile I found that mentioned problem occurs only when I fetch emails or calendar via gmail account etc... So after email or calendar  synchronization is fetched on the background (each 15 mnts in my case), reminder alert disappear from then lock screen. If I set manual fetch, reminders lock screen alerts persist fine. I checked out the same behavior on my wife's iPhone, so I assume it is iOS 8.1.2 bug. Does anybody have such  issue?

  • Calender reminders / alerts to email not working with Mountain Lion

I installed Mountain Lion 10.8.5 on my macbook. Then all my calendar reminders which are set to email me at set times of the day / week / month / year failed to work. I've tried all the advice in all the forums but nothing can make my calendar send me an email to alert me to do what I've set in my calendar.
I've tried everything over a 3 week period and nothing gives me back the functionality I had with the previous version of Calendar sending me emails to remind me to do things.
Even the geniuses at Genius Bar at Apple were not able to make it work.
Can any geniuses out there help me?

Since I have no way of knowing what you've already done, I have to assume you've done nothing.
From the Calendar menu bar, select
    Calendar ▹ Preferences ▹ Alerts
    and uncheck the box marked
Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center
    if it's checked.

  • OS5-Issue with reminders/alerts of all-day events

    Hi there,
in our company we are used to set up anniversaries and birthdays as all-day events with a reminder at 08.00 AM in Lotus Notes which are synchronized together with individual calendar entries to the Blackberries. After upgrading the first Bold 9000's to OS5, the alerts for birthdays and anniversaries don't go off anymore.
The Calendar entries are configured in Lotus Notes as all-day events with a reminder 8 hours after the start time (In the BB-Calendar these are shown as negative values). In the calendar-overview these entries are on the OS5 devices now shown without the bell-icon. If I open one of these events the reminder is configured with a negative value.
Although it is and was never configurable directly via the blackberry-devices (where you can only set the time the alarm goes off in advance, means positive values) , it always worked with all OS 4.x devices.
But it seems that with OS5 it's not possible to remind this way anymore.
Unfortunately, it's no option to put birthdays and anniversaries at for example 8 o'clock in the morning with a reminder at the same time, because the users don't want to have (sometimes multiple) events within their day schedule.
Could someone please verify that this is a OS issue. The used OS is 5.0.0.681, Lotus version is 8.0.
If this issue persists with all 5.x versions we are forced to downgrade back to 4.x.
    Thanks in advance

  • Delivery reminders / Alerts

    Hi guys
is it possible to set up an alert or notification to a user when the delivery date on a sales order arrives?
ie sales order put on today has delivery date of next week, then when that date arrives the user is reminded to turn into a delivery note.
    thanks

    Hello Groovy,
SELECT 'Orders to Delivery today', T0.DocNum AS 'Document Number', T0.CardCode AS 'Customer/Vendor Code', T0.CardName AS 'Customer/Vendor Name',
    T0.DocDueDate AS 'Due Date'
    FROM  [dbo].[ORDR] T0
    WHERE DATEDIFF(DAY, T0.DocDueDate, GETDATE()) = 0

  • I use reminders/alerts/calendar a lot..

Therefor, when I open up my Macobok Air, there's like 10 notifications there...is there a way to dismiss all of them with a single swipe? Otherwise it takes me 10-15 seconds to get rid of everything.
I know there's a way for it to come on the screen and then dissappear within 5 seconds but I don't want that because if there's a reminder that I didn't check yet I want it there but I also want to be able to dismiss everything at once. Is there a way?

Click on the X in the heading of each section of Notification Center to dismiss all notifications in that category immediately...

  • Icloud calendar in Outlook won't show reminders

I am using the iCloud calenar in Microsoft Outlook on my windows PC.  When I set a meeting on my PC and try to set a reminder for the meeting, I get the message below
"The reminder will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders".  I really like to have my reminders alert me to upcoming meetings!!!
Is this because I am using the iCloud calendar?

I have the same issue. Question: When you are in iCloud calendar and you go to create an event, do you have the option to 'Move to iCloud' in the calendaer eventm despite it already being created in iCloud calendar? Mine does have that option, and if I click it, Outlook crashes. The help on this site says just say 'yes' to that error message and it will work anyway. This is not true, it does not work.

  • How do I get the OS to alert me to something I need to do?

This seems like it should be easy, but I just can't figure it out, despite the plethora of promising looking tools in Yosemite OS, like Notifications and Calendar, and the fact that my iPhone is pretty good at this sort of thing already.
I would like to set reminders for specific days to do certain tasks (like open a certain webpage and do a thing, like ordering presale concert tickets for example).
So ideally, I would get a popup notification reminding me.
Any one have an idea how to do this? Preferably without using scripts or command line instructions? I'm not a programmer.
    Thanks!

I can only see stuff about Reminders Alert Style here, nothing about where to actually add a reminder.
Reminders is an Application. Applications are in the Applications folder. If it is not in your sidebar, type cmd-shift-A in Finder. That will open the Applications folder. Or, you can select it from the Go menu in Finder.
Or, you can open Macintosh HD and then open the Applications folder.
Or, you can search for Reminders in Spotlight.

  • No more outlook reminders with iCloud?

I activated iCloud. It made the mess many of us experienced: "local data" wiped out, doubling entries, etc.
But there is a specific issue I can't understand: I define a new appointment/activity and set its reminder; whern I save it, Outlook says something like "Unable to set reminder, because the folder doesn't support reminders" (ore something like. I've the italian release).
    So... no more reminders?

check ou the last item on this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4861?viewlocale=en_US
In my oppinin apple made a mess with reminders/alerts names and behavior. Things could be easier.
Anyway, apple regards the outlook message as a falase positive and states that oulook will still give us the alerts. I just installed iClound on outlook, so I don't know if that is true. Anyway, even if alerts are kept, two things are very annoying: 1) alerts are set to none by default when creating a caledar event in the icloud calendar from outlook (I used to use the 15min default on other calendars). This means that everytime I want a reminder for a calendar event, I have to remember to go and set it. 2) Having this idiotic message pop up everytime I create an event with a reminder will be a pain.
I'm going to try to stick to iCloud for now, but if this things start to annoy me too much, I'll just go back to using google calendar sync on all my PC's with outlook and google ical dav on all my apple devices and macs.
Hope Apple fixes this and improves icloud soon.

  • ICal alerts to mail

I changed the battery on my G5. When I restarted the computer the date was reset to 2001. My calendar started sending all the reminders for the last 10 years to my mail box. How do I get rid of al those old reminders/alerts so that it doesn't happen again?

It sounds like your computer was not erased.
Is it possible you are using an email account that she is still using?
Open Preferences under Mail in the Menu bar.
    Select Accounts.
Do you see only your Account?

  • Calendar will not alert

My boss recently shared hiscalendar with me, and he is now unable to receive reminders/alerts for events.

I just setup iCloud Calendar syncing between my iPhone with my wife's iPad. Calendar events sync fine but they lose their alert settings in the process? Is this a bug? Is there a fix? Thanks for any help.

  • Painfully weak vibrate since upgrade to 5.1.1?

I have been missing calls and actually didn't wake up to my alarm because the vibration on my iPhone 4 has been so weak. Anyone else having this issue? Also, the upgrade did not seem to fix the battery life. Just wondering if I am an isolated case.

I am having the same problem and I am not very happy about it. Lots of missed calls, texts, reminders, alerts, etc.  I have to keep my phone on vibrate at work and I cannot feel nor hear the vibration at all.  The custom vibrations only pertain to phone calls from certain contacts - they cannot be assigned to text alerts or any other alerts.  Hopefully Apple will put out an upgrade to allow customization of vibrate settings for everything.  I feel your pain.

  • Google announces Calendar Sync on iPhone...a few questions

    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740
Google has announced today that you can now sync your calendar and contacts with the iPhone and it supports push.
I've been using MobileMe to sync my calendar and contacts and have been waiting for the day when I could sync my Google Calendar because of the fact I have so many subscribed calendars at work that I need access too.
For anyone that's done this syncing with Google yet, can you confirm the following:
    1. Will it allow you to do just calendar and not touch your contact data if you don't want it to?
    2. Will you be able to add reminders (alerts) that will work on the phone the same was as the iCal syncing works?

    Is this possible?
    Setup:
MacBook and MacBook Pro at home syncing iCal events (in four different calendars) and Address Book contacts with iPhone via Mobile Me. At work I forward Outlook appointments to Gmail, which puts them in a Google calendar, which the Macs at home pull into their iCal using CalDAV. Of course, that calendar does not sync to the iPhone. This setup circumvents the problem that the iPhone's Outlook Exchange syncing isn't supported at work.
    Question:
Is it possible to sync just one calendar in Google calendar with the iPhone? I don't want the four calendars that sync over Mobile Me to sync to Google Calendars as well. I suppose that work calendar, once synced with the iPhone, will find its way via Mobile Me to iCal on the Macs at home, so that I can then simply unsubcribe to the CalDAV feed.
    Thanks,
    Richard
