Reminders and Notes Mountain Lion

Hello,
How do I sync Reminders and Notes in Mountain Lion with my iPhone ?

Same issue.
On my phone I have iCloud calendar and reminders turned on.
On my computer I have iCloud Reminders turned on as well as Exchange "Calendar & Reminders" turned on.
The only thing showing up on my computer seem to be task and reminder events being pulled from exchange. And on my iPhone the only thing showing up are items that I composed on the phone. When attempting to add new reminders on either system no syncing occurs.

  • Free Upgrade to Mavericks and not Mountain Lion?

I noticed I have a free upgrade to Mavericks. However, the application I'm using that prompted the search for the upgrade doesn't support Mavericks, I need Mountain Lion and I can't find a free upgrade to it anywhere. My question is; Why do I have a free upgrade to Mavericks and NOT Mountain Lion?
    Thanks much!

Yeah I noticed it's there for purchase, pretty inexpensive as well $20. But I was just curious as to why the newer version is free and I can't find Mt. Lion for free, and that's the one I need. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place or it's just unavailable?

  • Why is my wifi slow on Windows 7 and not Mountain Lion?

I have Windows 7 installed through boot camp.  I purchased my MacBook Pro new 2012.  When I use wifi in Mountain Lion, it works great.  When I boot into Windows 7 I get SUPER slow speeds.  OSX I get full speed at 60 Mb/s.  Windows I get 1 Mb/s or lower.  I updated OSX, and windows 7.  I have an Samsung SSD 840 Pro and everything is running incredibly fast.  I just need the wifi fixed.  I also purchased an Airport Extreme about 2 months ago, latest version.  Airport Utility is also up to date.  Please help!

Try a different cable. And are you connecting directly to your computer or through a USB hub?

  • Why can't I purchase and download Mountain Lion? I get the following message: The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.

I have tried to re-install Lion, delete different cach folders, etc., nothing is working - I keep getting the same message:

Please can anyone be of kind assistance.

I have tried to re-install Lion
If you are trying to reinstall Lion, you need to use Lion Recovery

For that issue, quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    Click Go
Move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading MLion.
*****   Your post is rather confusing. There's a difference between reinstalling Lion and downloading Mountain Lion.

  • Reminders Notifications in Mountain Lion latest update keeps freezing on my homescreen and won't go away when trying to close. Please help.

Reminders Notifications in Mountain Lion latest update keeps freezing on my homescreen and won't go away when trying to close. Please help.
I'm using a 2009 Macbook Pro and have installed the lastest update 10.8.1

I've been seeing this for some time now and getting quite sick of it. It happens when I've been away at work for the day and come home to find frozen notifications.
You can fix this temporarily by quitting Notification Centre from Activity Monitor but it keeps happening to me every week or so.

  • Apple's stance on ML problems - Reminders and Notes.

    Hello, all.
I must confess I am puzzled with Apple's attitude towards its customer base and how neglectful it has become as a company.
I just recently upgraded to Mountain Lion for the sole reason I wished to use Reminders and Notes. These are applications I use for BUSINESS and I use them every single day to manage my professional life.
After I upgraded to Mountain Lion I was shocked to learn that Reminders and Notes can only by synchronized via iCloud. Notes was synchronized via cable through iTunes before. Why change it ? And why offer Reminders with a single sync option ? Many users are in the same situation I am in. As a healthcare provider I am required by law to ensure all my data is maintained private and confidential. Why would Apple choose to offer only one single sync option ?
I have been strugling for the last two weeks trying to find a way to address Apple's design flaw (perhaps not a flaw but an intentional design decision). I can't seem to find a way to sycn these two apps without the use of iCloud and can't also find third party applications that would be good replacements for them.
Aside from switching to a Windows-based phone (and perhaps even to a Windows-based computing platform) I don't know what to do. It has finally sunked in the idea I have heard before from so many long-time Mac users like me. Growth would prove challenging to Apple and perhaps condemn the company to becoming more like other mediocre companies that produce mediocre products. Apple no longer listens to customers like me who have been loyal customers for 30 or so years.
I can't believe that with all the complaints out there Apple chooses to remain silent and do nothing to address the issue. This is indeed very sad. It is sad to see a company who made such great products in the past begin to decline.
To those who have any knowledge of it, please I need help.
IS THERE ANYWAY TO FIX THIS MESS ?
IS THERE ANYWAY TO SYNC REMINDERS AND NOTES BETWEEN THE MAC AND IPHONE (IPAD) WITHOUT THE USE OF ICLOUD ?
Thank you in advance for any help.

I think most users including those who don't face the legal requirements that I do will agree that offering more than one choice to sync data would have been the right thing to do.
Yes, I agree with that. And you do have more than one choice to sync data: (1) iCloud, and (2) OS X Server. That's not counting third-party options.
This is not true. OS X Server is not a choice. The average user shouldn't be expected to pay for the client version of OS X and then pay again for the server version only to make two applications sync when they should do so right out of the box. The payment isn't the worst part. The labor involved in implementing OS X Server is the most difficult part. To expect the average user to use OS X Server as an option to sync Reminders and Notes is nothing short of absurd.
It's not clear what you mean. Notes didn't exist before ML. It's an entirely new application. So is Reminders.
This is not true. Notes existed before as part of the Mail application. I used it under Lion and was able to synchornize it via cable with iTunes. Mountain Lion removed Notes from Mail (a good choice in my opinion) and made it an independent application. However, it also removed the ability to sync it via cable.
My intention was to search for help and perhaps input from others who have experienced the same issues. I don't have an agenda and don't wish to criticize Apple for any retaliatory reason. I am truly disappointed that a company this large would have made such an amateurish mistake and shared my perspective hoping it may help others and spark some changes. I have had other problems with Apple in the recent past when it failed to stand behind its products and the customer service I received from the company was the opposite of what I would have received 15 years ago.
I have also contacted the company and provided feedback. The company has yet to respond and I don't think it will, which is quite sad.
In regards to HIPPA I have already done my research and have it covered as long as Apple allows me to manage my data in the way that best fits my work requirements instead of trying to push a single solution because it wants to promote its iCloud service.

  • Black screen and looping after installing and updating Mountain Lion on Macbook pro 2011 13 "i5 2.4Ghz

After first installing the new Mountain Lion upgrading Lion on my Macbook Pro was a little slow, so I decided to format and install Mountain Lion via a thumb drive. After installation on my Macbook Pro was restarting all the time and showing a black screen with codes on the screen. I decided to reformat and reset the PRAM, and that seems to have worked. Occasionally a black screen appears with the codes and my macbook restarts again. Last night I updated the Mountain Lion and error and looping retornartam. I thought I had lost all my works, do more entered in the login screen. I turned off my macbook, went to sleep and this morning I called and finally worked Do not know what's going on in my friends' macbook not occur this problem. The macbook them is the 2011 13 "i5 2.0Ghz and another 2010 and they both work perfectly with the Mountain Lion.

    Is there a hardware problem?
    thank you

Before you upgrade, make sure all your software supports it based on post July, 25, 2012 reports on

Reports prior to this date are unreliable, as they are likely with beta releases of Mountain Lion to developers. Other pitfalls to realize include:

I can purchase other apps, why not Mountain Lion.   I get the same message on my wife's IMAC.

The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down.  Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
    Hope it helps.

I rebooted my macbook pro recently and downloaded mountain lion. Afterwards iPhoto dissapeared and I canr seem to restore it. Any suggestions?

Rebooting is the same as restarting. That should not have any effect on what software is installed on your machine unless something is very, very wrong. Do you mean that you erased the hard drive and installed Mountain Lion? If so, you will also need to reinstall iPhoto. What system did your machine originally ship with? If it came with disks, you can reinstall the iLife apps from the Applications disk.

I just bought and installed mountain lion, and I can't get to sign in to hotmail after several trials. I need help please. Thanks.

so its in a forum, which I didn't stumble upon because it wasn't anywhere in the adobe troubleshooting steps for Windows 8 that automatically came up for me when I clicked that I couldn't see the test flash movie on their site. I guess if I spent another half a day googling I might have found it.
BTW, unchecking Active X filtering in IE10, was NOT the fix. I had to go into the security tab, and change the custom active X setting I listed above. So this link you provided which mentions unchecking Active X filtering was not the fix that worked in my scenario.

  • I have bought a new imac late 2012 and I want to wipe clean my 2008 mac and install Mountain Lion on the old computer for my kids to have

I have bought a new imac late 2012 and I want to wipe clean my 2008 mac and install Mountain Lion on the old computer for my kids to have.
What do I need to do?

Boot your Mac from the System Install DVD that came with it, and erase the HD using Disk Utility. Then, reinstall the OS from the disc. Give the disc to your kids since it must always accompany the Mac it came with.
After the OS installation is complete and the Mac restarts to begin its new owner setup procedure, just shut down the Mac. Your kids can take it from there.
If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store, you cannot transfer it. The Apple ID you used to purchase it is required to maintain and / or reinstall the OS. Unless you want to supply your own Apple ID to your children for their use, they must purchase their own copy of Mountain Lion using their own Apple ID.
If they do not already have an Apple ID and you want them to have Mountain Lion, you will need to create one on their behalf. This does not change the above procedure - just give them the Apple ID and password you create in addition to the Mac and its discs.

  • Is Lion (not Mountain Lion) still available for upgrading from snow leopard

Is Lion (not mountain lion) still available for download and upgrading from snow leopard?

Lion is no longer available from the Mac App Store. Even the thumb drive version has been withdrawn. It should be possible to get it by calling Apple Phone Sales.

  • Where do i update my snow leppard to the latest version of it so i can upgrade it and do i have to get lion next or can i skip that and get mountain lion?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
