Reminders Apps and/or Alternatives

hi everyone
im new to using a mac
so far this support community has been very helpful to me in getting to know my mac and its in's and out's
so for that thank you all.
I have many reminders throughout my day that i need to be made aware of .........many on a recurring basis (either day to day or recurring monthly)
I cal doesnt seem to do the trick for me .....when i enter a recurring event it either doesnt pop up period {when i set it to pop up with sound and message}
OR it pops up a half hour later than when i set it to pop up
So the question is this......... can anyone recommend any good alternatives for a GOOD recurring reminders app/program that i can use in substitution for Ical [WHICH BY THE WAY ***}  either free or something that is not terribly expensive?
Thanks in Advance
Louis

Uninstall the Kaspersky software. Depending on the exact type/version you need a different method: http://support.kaspersky.com
Also, you're running VMWare Fusion 6, which is not compatible with OS X 10.10. Uninstall it or upgrade.

  • Due Date for Reminders app and iCal

    Where is the option to add a due date for a reminder? There is an option to Remind Me but no Due Date.
    The only way that a Due Date shows up in the Reminder app on the iPhone is if the Reminder is created within iCal on the Mac and syncs back to iPhone.

    It doesn't exist. Please, please, please, report the issue to Apple that both alarms and due dates at the same time are not possible as a bug here:http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html. The more people who submit it, the more likely Apple will listen.

  • The reminders app in my iPhone and the reminders in Mac are not syncing properly

    I use the Reminders app and Notes app extensively to keep track in both my Mac and iPhone. However the reminders app in my phone does not immediately sync when i made changes in my Mac and later when i make a change in my iphone Reminders, it over writes the reminders in Mac. Please help so that my work syncs smoothly from Mac to iPhone and vice versa without any loss of information, just as Apple advertises and takes pride in being able to do so.

    There are a couple threads out there with this issue.  I had the same problem. Try this link for the answer...
    Re: Reminders not syncing properly with iCloud and iOS 8
    At the bottom - one person has the answer...On your iPhone remove your iCloud account.  Then add it back.  It's not as painful as it sounds it only took me less than 5min to add everything back

  • Can you email a list made in Reminders app in iOS 7?

    I made a list through the reminders app and would like to share it; is this possible?

    I would do this by viewing the list on your iPhone screen, and then taking a screen shot (which is done by briefly simultaneously pressing the home and on/off buttons).  Then you can email the resulting screen shot photo.

  • The Reminders APP: Geo-Parameters

    One of the things I was MOST excited about with the Reminders app, was the ability to set geo-parameters for things like "remind me to grab milk when I leave work". I'm VERY forgetful about things like this, so this is an extremely helpful option...
    HOWEVER, it seems there is a downfall...
    When I say "remind me when I leave" it allows me to set a parameter around my current location, which is great, because I don't have to give it any specific address, it just knows, then when I leave that location, my phone beeps and says "hey, don't forget this". The problem here is, I'd like to set things like "remind me to get cat food when I get to the grocery store", which is where it all falls apart. Rather than simply being able to drop a pin and say make a parameter around this spot on a map, I now have to add addresses into my contacts section of my phone, before I can allow it to remind me of something upon arrival. I don't feel like I should have to close the app, find the address of my grocery store, create a contact for it, then go BACK in to the Reminders app, and add the location through the contact. I think you need to remove a step here and not assume that the average person wants to have every possible place they might need to set a geo-parameter added as a contact in their contact book. If they could simply allow a quick link between the reminders app and the maps, I could just drop a pin and say set this as the parameter around my grocery store.
    I realize that in the grand scheme of this amazing software, this is a VERY minor detail, but seeing how detail oriented apple likes to be, i'm suprised it was overlooked.

    Hey Nickac8200,
    If you are having issues with your being unable to add Reminders on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
    First, quit all running applications and test again -
    Force an app to close in iOS
    Next, I would try resetting the iPhone -
    Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
    How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Be well,
    Brett L

  • Can Siri use the Reminders APP more fully?

    I was experimenting with my Reminders App and Siri.  I found that Reminders has an "On the phone" section and an "iCloud" section.
    I built a list under The Cloud section of Reminders and then found I could add thins through Siri.  Key words were necessary to distinguish Appointment (Events) from Reminders (To Do's), but it did work.
    I realize she is a Betazoid, but can she perform operations like this?  Is there a written guide to using her besides the "What can I say" shortcuts?  I guess that I would have to ask if there is such a guide to Reminders as well.
    Thank You!

  • Reminders App: badge icon wrong count.

    The badge icon that displays the number of reminder alerts is a welcome addition for me in iOS 6. However, I'm somewhat annoyed that it always seems to be incorrect. After a new reminder alert takes place in notification centre, you would expect the badge icon to update, but it doesn't. Opening the App and closing it does nothing either. The only way to update the count, is to re-boot the iPhone. Can anyone tell me how I can submit a bug report for this? Many thanks!

    Hi, I wanna share my experience with the wrong badge count.
    I had all the task completed but even deleting from Reminders I had number 1 on badge stuck on the App. I had it for months since yesterday when I could reset the counter, here what I did.
    1) Initially Reminders was synced with iCloud;
    2) In Settings I set up "All Reminders" the Sync;
    3) I turned off the syncing on iCloud (Settings Menu);
    4) I launched the Reminders app and immediately in the Today I saw the very old task (hidden until that);
    5) I deleted the hidden task and the wrong badge disappeared immediately;
    6) I turned on the sync with iCloud and now it works flawlessy.
    I don't know if it can help but I hope so.

  • ICal reminders transfer to Mountain Lion Reminders app?

    I have several reminders in iCal in Lion, assigned to a variety of calendars.  When I upgrade to Mountain Lion, will those reminders transfer to the Reminders app, and will the various iCal calendars become "Lists" in Reminders, with the individual reminders correctly assigned to them?

    My suggestion is before you upgrade to Mountain Lion, you should at least consider putting your reminders in iCloud.  Here's an article on the subject: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2599
    And here's a broader iCloud article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436
    From experience, I can tell you that iCloud transitions easily from Lion to Mountain Lion.

  • Reminders.app does not display anymore

    I'm translating my question already posted in french at : http://forums.macg.co/mac-os-x/rappels-ne-s-affiche-plus-1236408.html
    Hi,
    I haven't found any answer to my new problem.
    The app Reminders (Reminders.app) doesn't display anymore.
    To be more precise :
    - the icon is animated on the dock
    - the menu is there but no window opens
    - Cmd-0 does not display the main window
    - I cannot create a new entry
    I checked and repaired the permissions, the HDD, ... without succeeding.
    I tried to start ./Reminders in the terminal in /Applications/Reminders.app/Contents/MacOS and I got this error message :
    2013-12-10 23:07:19.862 Reminders[658:507] *** -[__NSCFString stringByAppendingString:]: nil argument
    2013-12-10 23:07:19.887 Reminders[658:507] +[CATransaction synchronize] called within transaction
    Because it works fine on iCloud.com and iOS7 I tried to :
    - disable iCloud/Reminders in the Preference panel -> then an new and empty Reminders window appears when I start it again (and no error message in the terminal)
    - close the Reminders app and enable iCloud -> the app does not appear
    - colse the app, modify some entries using iCloud or iOS, disable iCloud, enable iCloud, and try to start again without succeeding.
    Does anyone have an idea ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Thibault

    I had the same problem and solved it by quitting Reminders on the iMac and doing this on my iPhone (which is synced to iCloud along with my iMac):
    1) deleting old (completed) reminders so that each list had only reminders less that one year old, and
    2) adding a new list and creating a few entries
    And waiting until that synced to iCloud.
    When I did that all my lists and entries reappeared on the iMac Reminders app!  I'm gussing there was either a corrupt entry somewhere or the lists of entries had just got to be too long.  Even after the deletions, I still have several hundred completed items, which I want to keep as checklists that I re-use.  Doing the above was much better then totally wiping all lists (as some have suggested) or more drastic ideas like deleting pref files.
    I also had to widen the Reminders window to allow it to show the Sidebar as well as enabling Sidebar in the View menu.
    I did not disable iCloud syncing on the iMac but that would not hurt as an initial step before doing the above also.
    Good luck.

  • Reminders app iOS

    First, where can a person post a wish list for an iOS app, such as Reminders?
    For discussion: I really like how Reminders will put Tasks into Outlook, which I'm forced to use at work.
    I would like the ability to reorder the Tasks by dragging and type in landscape mode.
    Thoughts?

    I have a similiar but slightly different problem. My badge won't go away in iCloud unless I "activate" it. This affects both Calendar and Reminders apps and only in iCloud. When I first log in, if I have no reminders I get this odd default # of calendar alerts and reminders. If I create an event that sets off an alert, the badge for the calendar will reset to 0 like its supposed to.  If I do the same with a reminder, then the badge for the Reminders will reset to 0 like its supposed to.
    Really, really annoying for apps that I use constantly. Unfortunately there's not really a good, simple replacement that doesn't require some other cloud service. Also, I do have one shared calendar and one shared reminder list.

  • Help, I did not enable push notifications for the Reminders app

    If I was asked if I wanted push notifications for the Reminders app and I declined, how do I go back and enable that feature? Thank you in advance for the help.

    The problem has been fixed with the most recent OS X software update.

  • Hey you all, I have recently updated me iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 and I checked my reminders built in app, and it seems like everything I had in there was lost. I have tried many things, but none seems to work. I can no longer add in any remainders.

    Have you failed to regularly backup the device to iTunes or iCloud?  If so, the data is gone.
    If there are backups, restore the most current one from prior to the data disappearing.

    Reminders is automatically installed with 10.8 or above. A new Mac should have 10.9; it's possible that, with a third-party vendor, you have an earlier OS. Check under the Apple menu in the top left and click About This Mac. That will tell you what version of OS X you have.

  • On restart Launch Pad, Reminders, App Store and Notes appears back on Dock

    I have installed Mountain Lion and loving most of the features.
    I am using the five finger pinch shortcut on the trackpad to get to the Dashboard.
    Its a great feature so now I have deleted all my apps on the dock.
    Instead I have put my many folders on the dock.
    However, on restart of my macbook pro the Launch Pad, Reminders, App Store and Notes appears back on dock
    Is there a way I can switch this annoying push to have to use Apple apps on the dock?

    I noticed it sometimes happened when I am on Lion.
    I don't use all the Apple software, and some never even opened them to use.
    But they end up back on my dock again which is super annoying.
