Reminders Created in iPhone don't go off in Outlook

We have quite a few iPhones in our organization syncing with Exchange server using Exchange Active Sync and we've noticed a problem with the new Reminders module in iOS 5. When a reminder is created in the iPhone with an alarm, it syncs properly with Outlook and the alarm is set properly in the Outlook task but the alarm only goes off on the iPhone, not in Outlook. If a Task is created in Outlook with a reminder, it syncs with the iPhone as expected and both alarms go off.
We also discovered that, when the reminder is created in the iPhone, if we open the task in Outlook after it syncs and then save the task, then the alarm goes off at in both places.
We were wondering if anyone else had seen this behavior and if there was any word on a fix?
Thanks...Ray

I have same issue. Any news?

  • Reminders created on iPhone are one day off in iCal

I am overjoyed with the inclusion of reminders in iOS 5, however when I create a new reminder on my iPhone 4S it shows up in my iCal (Lion 10.7.2) as created one day ahead of the original "remind me on" date on the phone.  When I manually try to override the date in iCal to the correct date, it retains the wrong date (one day ahead).  Anyone else run into this issue? Any yes, I am frustrated you can't set a due date for the reminder on the iPhone, but there's another thread on that one somewhere.  Thanks for any help or insights.

I too have noticed a similar problem.
When I create a reminder on my iPhone 4S (and begrudgingly set a time, even though I want it to be all-day), it shows up in my iCal (Lion 10.7.4) as created the same day.
However, if I want to edit this reminder in iCal (i.e. delete the timed 'On a Date' message that comes with it…), the date you put–in the best way that I can desribe–has a "-1 day" attached to it.
    Scenario:
You create a reminder on the iPhone 4S for Today, 5/29/2012.
    In iCal, you:
    1. change the date to 5/30/2012.  Nothing happens (because 5/30/2012 -1 day = 5/29/2012).
    2. change the date to 5/31/2012.  The reminder changes to Tomorrow (5/30/2012).
    3. change the date to 5/29/2012, which should do nothing, but changes it to Yesterday (5/28/2012).
Any reminders created in iCal do not have this problem.
I'm hoping that this will all get fixed when Mountain Lion comes out, and reminders becomes it's own separate app on the MacBook.  I really do hope they put a field for all-day, otherwise I will seriously reconsider the use of reminders.

  • New contacts created on iphone 4s will not sync to outlook 2010

all my updates are installed. but the contacts I create on the 4S will not sync to outlook 2010. anyone knows how to solve this?

You need to restore the backup of your old hard drive to the new one. The iPhone is not a backup device, and syncing iTunes content is one way, from computer to iPhone. If you don't have a backup there is an alternative process that can get most of the data off of your iPhone, but it is complicated and cumbersome. • Events created on iPhone don't appear in iCal on my computer...

...but events created on the computer do appear on the iPhone.  I'm using iCloud and other functions (e.g. Photo Stream) work fine.  I've browsed the community for suggestions, but keep ending up reading articles from 2007 or 2008.  Thanks in advance for your assistance!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB mem
    OS 10.7.3
I was able to solve the problem through a combination of two suggestions in the troubleshooting advice provided in the like you sent:  turning off and then back on the Calendars box in System Preferences/iCloud, then restarting the computer. Works fine now, but it's scary to watch all of your calendar events disappear after you uncheck that box!
    Thanks!

  • Calendar events created in iPhone don't sycn to iCal

I migrated from a Blackberry to iPhone about a month ago, so am somewhat green to the nuances of the platform.
I notice that when I create a calendar event in the iPhone (3g, 2.2.1), it does not get sync'ed to my iCal calendar. Changes in iCal sync to the iPhone just fine.
I've done the reset suggestions listed in the Apple support site that relate to resetting the iSync history as well as running the unix command with no change.
    Any suggestions here?
    thanks,
    Larry

I am also having the problem. Events created on the iPhone do not sync to either my MobileMe calendar (no matter what platform (Mac/PC) or browser(IE/Safafi) I open it from)or the iCals on either my desktop or laptops Macs. All have MobileMe preferences set to sync calendars, and iPhone is set to Sync with my Macs in iTunes. All events added anywhere BUT the iPhone itself, sync across all my Macs and MobileMe, only the event actually added from the iPhone itself fail to sync.
Anybody got anything new on this?

  • Ever since beta testing OS4, contacts created on iPhone don't sync

Contacts created in mail or messaging don't sync with MobileMe since I installed iOS4 beta. I have to email the card and import it on my iMac. If I add something to an existing contact, usually that will sync to MobileMe.
Plus 75% of my cards now show two new fields on the bottom under linked cards: iPhone and MobileMe.

    Hello henmeg
Check out the articles below for troubleshooting calendar syncing. The first relates to if you use iTunes to sync your calendars. The second one deals with if you use iCloud for calendar syncing.

  • Time-based reminders set by Siri don't go off.

Any time I have Siri set a time-based reminder (i.e. "Remind me tomorrow at 8am to call Bob") the reminder never pops up. I have gone into the Reminders app and the app shows there with the proper time, but the alert never shows up at 8am. I'm on iOS 6.0.1 on an AT&T iPhone 5 bought directly from Apple.

I have same issue. Any news?

  • New contacts added to my iPhone don't upload to my Outlook Contacts

When I synch my iPhone to my Outlook, it downloads all info from my Outlook Calendar & Contacts to my iPhone, but won't upload info that I added to the iPhone to Outlook.
    Please help!

I don't understand why no one has responded yet. I don't think this is a very difficult question. I'm starting to suspect that because we both use PC's that we are somehow black listed.

  • I can't create any new reminders on my iPhone 5S with iOS 8.

    Hi.
I have a 16 GB iPhone 5S with iOS 8.1.3. The problem I have is that I can't create any new reminders, at all. The problem started with my iPhone 4 (which I had before this phone), and I was using iOS 7 when the problem arose (but it didn't start immediately after I switched to iOS 7).
One day when I had the iPhone 4, I noticed that all my reminders had disappeared, and that I couldn't create any mew ones because the New List + button is grayed out. I didn't try to fix it until I got my 5S. I got to the "Scheduled" list and was able to type in a reminder (I thought I was a genius). But then when the time I'd set for the reminder actually came around, nothing happened, and when I checked Reminders, the reminder I'd entered was gone.
I tried using Siri to set a reminder but she said she couldn't.
I've tried Googling it, but it just says to press the + button to make a new list, and then start typing.
I recently got a MacBook Air which I synced up to my phone, and all my old reminders from my iPhone 4 are there, and I can create new reminders. Except they don't show up on my phone (which I think they're supposed to do, right?). They do show up on my computer, though.
I've taken to emailing myself things I need to remember, which is fine, I guess, but sometimes they get buried in my inbox.
    Any help would be fantastic!
Also, if you'd like me to clarify anything, I'm happy to do so because I don't know how much sense this makes.
    Thanks so much!

I have exactly the same problem. I discovered it yesterday.
I have a 16 GB iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2, just to note that we both are using different devices and different iOS versions. I will add here some screenshots of the problem.

  • Is there a way to create a due date in Reminders on the iPhone like you can in iCal, rather than just a reminder?

I realized that I can create due dates on iCal for tasks that sink to my reminders (so I am still reminded of a task, but also know when it NEEDS to be done). The problem is when I try to create a new task in reminders on the iPhone, it only gives me the option to set a time to remind me. I understand that this is the point on the app, but if it is going to sync with iCal, it should have the same functionality. I am curious if there is something I am overlooking.

I don't think so.  Reminders is very limited app.

  • Installed Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 - have to use iCloud Outlook Add-in to sync my Iphone 5 with Outlook - reminders work on iPhone, but reminder window & email reminders don't work in Outlook 2013. Help

Using windows 8.1 and outlook 2013 with iCloud Outlook Add-in so that my iPhone 5 will sync with outlook. Now reminders work on iPhone 5, but don't work in outlook 2013. Help, I've tried everything I can think of or found on the internet.

    Hi,
Please follow the steps below to make sure the reminders have been enabled in Outlook:
On the File tab, click Options.
Select Advanced in the Outlook Options dialog box.
In the Reminders section, select Show reminders.
    Click OK.
I also found a similar thread here:

As mentioned in the thread, you can try these steps:
Use MFCMAPI to delete the Reminders Folder, then run "outlook.exe /resetfolders" to recreate this folder:
    Download MFCMAPI:http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/releases/view/118446

Thanks. Mine's a POP account, not a .Mac, so I'm not sure mine is the same issue. Thanks though. By the way, I did come across this thread that might help http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1273888&tstart=0. I plan on trying it later today when I have access to my Mac again.
