Reminders order in iCloud

Hello, when using iCloud.com, the reminders appear in a different order then they do on my Mac, iPhone, etc. This has always been an issue. However, there is now an even more anoying issue...
For the last few days, my first reminders list named "Reminders" will constanly jump to the third position out of my ten lists I have set up in reminders. This first started happening on iCloud.com and I even changed browsers thinking there was some kind of incompaiblity but that was not the case. Now the lists are appearing out of order on my iPhone as well an no matter how many times I reorder them the way I want, they always "jump" back to the way they Apple thinks I want them.
Is it just me, or is anyone else having ordering problems as well?
Thanks,
Scott

Mine too! Although I did reorder them on my phone and they seem to stay that way on the mac now too. Either way it works now

  • Display reminders from multiple iCloud accounts on iPhone iOS 8

I have two iCloud accounts, one is my main account I use for everything and the other is a joint iCloud account I use with my partner to keep mail and reminders synched between us and we both sign into it. The second account signed in to on all my devices and I only sync the mail and reminders, enabled through settings.
My OS X Yosemite reminders app shows two separate iCloud accounts with their respective lists under them. The same applies to my iPad with iOS 8. This is not the case with my iPhone however. It will only show reminders from my primary iCloud account. Enabling reminders from the settings page for the secondary account does not make them appear.
    Can anyone help?

    Hey kayteekay,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds you want to know if it's possible to set up multiple iCloud accounts on an iPhone 6. It is possible, just take a look at the article linked below which provides a lot of great configuration information.

  • Sort order in iCloud shared photo stream

I have an album of photos in iPhoto v9.5.1 which I want to share using the iCloud shared photo stream.  I've carefully sorted the photos in the album.  But when I create and send the invite for the shared photo stream, it automatically re-orders the photos by date and greys out in the menu all other sorting orders.  In other words it entirely ignores the work I put into creating the sort order.
    Is there a fix?

please apple tell me what I have to pay for that a better solution? I will do it!   Photostream makes sense only with possibilties to sort the photos inside a stream! and to sort the streams !! you did such a great job with icloud and photo stream - but it is not finished!!!!
    Thanks a lot in advance!
You are trying to use Shared Photo Streams as shared Photo albums or slideshows, but they are intended as communication channels, not as online albums.  If you treat them as streams, as they are intended to be used, it makes perfectly sense, that the images appear in the order they have been added.  Drop a photo into the stream, your friend will send a different photo back, etc. Any other sort order would make the streaming cumbersome, when the stream gets long. You will want to see the most recently added photo at the head of the stream, to see immediately what is new.  iPhoto on iOS device has web journals and slideshows to share online with friends, but in iPhoto on a Mac these are still missing.
I'd like to encourage you to send feedback about the usuability to the developers. After all, right now the iCloud drive and the new Photos.app for storing photos in the cloud is under developement. Since nothing at all has been announced yet how this feature will integrate with iPhoto and Aperture on a Mac, feedback will be very useful.

  • Photo Order in iCloud Sharing

How can I keep my photos in the same order as they are in the album, once I upload to iCloud Photo Sharing?

You can not - PS is sorted by date/time - it has no options for sorting

  • Trouble with reminders syncing and iCloud

I couldn't get Reminders to sync with iCal via USB/iTunes. So I thought maybe Apple, despite making everything syncable via iTunes in the past, had broken with this pattern and made it so Reminders only works through iCloud. (Is this true? I hope not.) So I turned on iCloud for Calendars, which led to my iCal to-dos getting synced to my iPod, but my iPod Reminders still aren't synced with iCal. So that's one problem I'm trying to solve. Furthermore, now I can't seem to turn *off* iCloud without losing all my calendars. Is Apple trying to force me to use iCloud forever now, just because I gave it a test run? I guess I can export all my calendars, turn off iCloud, then re-import, but it seems like it shouldn't be that hard. Am I missing something? Any thoughts or advice on any of these issues would be appreciated.

I finally found another thread that answers part of my question: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16339884#16339884. Apparently Reminders syncing is allowed only through iCloud.

  • My contacts, notes, reminders and all iCloude features gone and I should restart my iPod!!!

few often al iCloud feature such as contacts , notes, reminders and ... disappear and I should restart my iPod to solve this problem!
    whats wrong with it?

I would try to delete your account from your device and then add it back again (Settings > iCloud > Delete Account). If this doesn't fix the problem, I would recommend to make a backup and to store all your important filles, and then to proceed with a reset of your device.

  • Disappearing Reminders folders in iCloud for PC

About half of my Reminders categories have suddenly disappeared from the list in iCloud for Windows. I was using Firefox, so I switched to both Explorer and Safari. Same problem. I still have the folders as they're visible in Outlook 2012 and they are still there on my iPhone and iPad. Has anyone else had this problem? Surprisingly I can create a new reminder and save it to one of the missing category lists. I've deleted the cache, logged out and back in again, even reloaded the iCloud for Windows. It's the same on my work desktop PC too. Help, please!

I am having the same problem.  I too cleared the cache and tried different browsers.
The categories show up on my iPhone and iPad just not in iCloud.  I can see the categories when I go into the detail of the task.  I can also find tasks within the now-invisible categories when I use the search feature.
    Hummm... scratching my head.

  • How do I move Yahoo reminders over to iCloud?

I'm using Mavericks and my iPad on iOS 7. I've been using Yahoo reminders to sync between Mac and iPad but recently stopped working. I think I'd rather just use iCloud instead. How do I move all my Reminders lists from Yahoo to iCloud? They appear now in my Reminders app on my iPad under the Yahoo header. If I go to Settings and attempt to turn the Reminders off there, I get a message saying all my Reminders on my iPad will be deleted. Is there no way to save them on my iPad and reestablish syncing through iCloud? Thx for any help.

If you have your own domain name you have pointed it to your MobileMe site, either by using forwarding or setting the CNAME to web.me.com, and whichever it is you need to undo that.
Obviously the 'real' URL of your website - web.me.com/username (or possibly homepage.mac.com/username) is no longer available as MobileMe is now closed (as was announced in June 2011).
You will need to find another hosting service - there are many to choose from. This page gives you more information:

  • How to get reminders for shared iCloud-calendar on iOS?

    Hi there,
Does anyone know how to get reminders to work for shared iCloud-calendar in iPhone?
I "own" the calendar and have shared it with my whife and she has full acces to it.
We use the calendar for events that we both wan't to have reminders for but we can't get it to work!
If I create an event I get the reminder but not my whife and the same if she creats the event, then I don't get any reminder.
I checked in icloud.com and there are no reminders set in the event that she creted!
    I have a 4s with iOS6 and my whife have a 3Gs that runs iOS5 (latest).

I think you're seeing a limitation of Apples sharing of calendars. It seems Apple may even be moving away from any sharing. If you use the Reminder program for shared todo lists the only option for sharing now is the app in Mountain lion. Once shared it can been seen on all devices but the fact you can no longer initiate sharing from iCloud or an iOS device is not good news for sharing.
Seems very un Apple like not to have the best method for sharing this stuff. I have found it incredibly useful for my wife and I.  I have put in feedback requesting better sharing and would encourage anyone needing this stuff to do the same.
As a side note the 3GS can be updated to ios 6. Seems to run well on my 3 gs.

  • My spouse and I shared an apple id so we could share itunes purchases, we upgraded our phones to 4s, must we have separate Apple ID's in order for icloud to work properly?

My spouse and I have always shared our itunes account, we just purchased the iphone 4s and I was told we cannot use the same Apple ID if we want to use icloud.  If this is true when one of us creates a new Apple ID, will we lose our purchases made on itunes?

I'm not sure if this answer is correct, but I would think that the one who uses a new ID will lose the purchases as these purchases are associated with the other ID.
Just my two cents... iCloud is not a great service in it's current state. In my opinion, Googles services are just as good, if not better, and they work on the iPhone. That is not to say that iCloud won't improve over the coming months or years. But until it does, I'm more that happy using Googles mail, contacts and calendar.

  • Sorted address order in iCloud mail

How come addresses listed in alphabetical order in Contacts are sorted by email address in Mail?

If you are referring to "Contacts" as the Address Panel in Apple Mail on the Mac you may need to open Addressbook and go Addressbook>Preferences>General and select Sort by Last Name.
If you are referring to Contacts on the iPhone, go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Scroll down to Contacts and select Sort Order as Last, First. You can also change the Display order as you wish.

Try to Reset your firefox and try it newly
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.

  • Why does is my Reminders task list out of order?

I have a problem with my iphone 5s. I uses my outlook icloud tash list. Why, when the list shows up in Reminders, are they out of order?

    bump...
My Reminder list is a mess..
I moved my to-do list from omnifocus to Reminders because I can see Reminders via my iCloud.com on any computer/platform. Omnifocus lacks this feature(hosting your OF to Spootnik wil do it though)...
Well, I'm really starting to regret using Reminders now as I can't rely on it... I really need a reliable, and consistant to-do list that does not change it's order arbitrarily!
I made test reminder entries on my Mac, iPhone, iPad & via my iCloud acct (naming them Made on Mac, Made on iPhone, etc) and at first the test reminder appears at the button of the list on that particular device, then after a few moments, it jumps to some random place in my reminders list. I then look to see if the list is in the same order by comparing the list between devices and each device reminder list differs from the other.
Even more stange !! I even couldn't find the test reminder named 'Made on iPhone" on my iPad.
AND on my iPhone, I can only find that test reminder by typing in 'iPhone' - typing in 'iphone' doesn't show any results. Since when did searching become case sensitive on the iPhone?
Clearly this is a bug... Apple please investigate.
    Thx
    Any thoughts here welcomed

  • Reminders not syncing properly with iCloud and iOS 8

I have an iMac running OS X 10.9.4 and an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.0.2.  I use Reminders on both my iMac and my iPhone and iCloud is turned on for both devices.
If I create a reminder on my iMac, I can see it immediately when I log in to iCloud.com and go to Reminders.  It does not show up on my iPhone.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.
If I create a reminder on iCloud.com, it immediately shows up on my iMac.  It does not show up on my iPhone.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.
If I create a reminder on my iPhone, it shows up on my iMac and iCloud.com.  If I edit this reminder on either the iMac or iCloud.com, the changes sync immediately between the iMac and iCloud.com but NOT my iPhone.
In order for any edits/deletes to sync to/from the iPhone, I either need to create the event on the iPhone, at which point it syncs any other changes, or I need to create a new dummy event and then delete it, at which point it syncs any other changes.
Basically, it seems like the iPhone needs to initiate a "hey iCloud, here are changes from my end.  Oh, there are changes from other devices?  OK, I'll show those changes" protocol, otherwise it just doesn't receive any updates from iCloud.
I don't think it's an issue with my iCloud account, since Reminders on my iMac and Reminders on iCloud.com sync just fine.
On my iPhone, I have tried:
-Force quitting and re-opening the app
-Changing the Reminders sync options (Settings -> Reminders -> Sync)
-Turning Reminders off and back on under Settings -> iCloud -> Reminders
-Turning the iPhone off and back on
None of those methods have fixed this issue.
Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue or is this unique to my iPhone?

    Hi mrbofus,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I see that you're experiencing issues with iCloud syncing your reminders on your iPhone.  To troubleshoot this issue I'd like you to please follow the steps below.
    General troubleshooting
Check the System Status page to make sure there aren't any issues affecting iCloud Bookmarks or Reading List.
Make sure you've fully enabled iCloud Calendar & Reminders for the client you are using. For more setup and troubleshooting information, see the additional steps for iOS, OS X, Windows, and iCloud.com in this article.
Check iCloud Help (help.apple.com/icloud) for possible information about the issue you are experiencing.
Check your settings and preferences, because something may not be set up correctly. For example, having incorrect date and time settings can cause issues that are easily resolved by entering the appropriate settings.
    Troubleshooting Reminders on iOS devices
If you're having trouble with Reminders on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Make sure that you're using iOS 5 or later. If you meet these requirements but your issue continues, try installing the latest version of iOS supported by your device.
Make sure that your iCloud account is configured correctly in Settings. For instructions on setting up iOS for iCloud, see iCloud Setup. Reminders is a separate data type on iOS. It must be enabled via the Reminders setting in Settings > iCloud.
Make sure your iOS device is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud Reminders will not update in Calendar. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Reminders requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar and Reminders servers.
If recent changes don't appear in Reminders, try forcing a refresh. In iOS 7:
    Open the Calendar app.
Tap the Calendars tab to load the Calendars list.
Pull down on the list to refresh both calendar events and reminders.
If recent changes simply don't appear in Reminders, try forcing a refresh. In iOS 6 and 5:
    Open the Calendar app.
Tap Calendars in the top-left corner to load the Calendars list.
Tap the Refresh button in the lower-left of the Calendars list.
Quit and restart the Reminders app on your iOS device.
In iOS 7, press the Home button.
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Reminders preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.
Quit and restart the Reminders app on your iOS device.
In iOS 6 and iOS 5, press the Home button.
Press the Home button twice to open the multitasking menu.
Press and hold the Reminders icon until it jiggles.
Tap the red circle in the upper-left corner to quit the app.
Press the Home button to get back to your Home screen. Wait a minute before reopening the Calendar app.
Change the Sync settings for your calendars:
In iOS 7 and iOS 6, tap Settings > Reminders.
In iOS 5, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then scroll down to the bottom to the Reminders section.
Tap Sync. If Sync is set to All Reminders, set it to a specific duration, such as Reminders 1 Month Back. If it's already set to a specific duration, set it to All Reminders.
Wait several minutes and refresh again, as described previously. Then open the Reminders app again.
Turn iCloud Reminders off and back on:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Turn off Reminders. Choose to delete data only if your reminders exist at icloud.com/#reminders and on one or more of your devices. Otherwise, choose Keep Data.
Wait a few minutes before turning Reminders back on.
Restart your iOS device: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, then drag the slider. After the device turns off, turn it back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
