Reminders: Recur on Completion

Anyone know of a way to have iOS Reminders repeat every 2 weeks, but recur based on the completion date rather than simply every 2 weeks regardless if you completed it or not?  For instance, I want "Mop the Floors" to recur every 2 weeks, but not simply every 2 weeks.  If I'm late by a week to mopping the floors, I don't want iOS to remind me again in just a week.  I want it to remind me 2 weeks from when I say I completed mopping the floor.
This can be done in SOOOOO many other "To do" type apps.  Why not iOS Reminders?

  • Reminders constantly un-completes completed tasks!

I have an irritating issue with my Mac Reminders. I run 4 devices - an iPhone 5, an iPad, a Macbook Pro and an iMac. From what I can gather, my Macbook Pro seems to think that it is the dominant device and constantly overrides the other devices. For example, I receive a reminder alert on my iPhone, complete the task and mark it off as completed. When I open my iPad, the task has been updated and likewise on my iMac. However, later that evening when I open my Macbook up, the reminder alert appears (which I close) and then the task is updated as still pending on all my other devices! I then have to tick it off on my other devices again. Unless I mark something off as completed on my Macbook, then it will override the other devices.
Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and if there is a fix.

I have the same problem with Mavericks OS X 10.9.2

  • No completed in reminders on mbp

my iphone has a completed list and so does my reminders on my work mbp but there is no completed list on my mbp at home and I can't figure out how to get it even though all my other lists are there.
    Any ideas?
    thanks in advance

I tried to sign out and back in but the complete list still doesn't show up. My apple ID is common amongst all my devices and I'm not having any other problem with any other aspect of iCloud services - they all work find from iphone to mcp to atv...
its just this little thing! it wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't have to delete reminders from the completed list one at a time on my iPhone.
    can you recommend anything else?

  • Mail shows up completely blank just after partitioning w/ boot camp

    Hi folks,
As the title says, I partitioned a portion of my 10.6.8 MBPro's drive for windows, and once I switched back over to the Mac partition everything in mail is gone. Not just all the emails, but all the mailboxes, smart mailboxes, reminders, etc. are completely gone. But on my Mac Pro (also 10.6.8), all of these things are still clearly there as well as unread emails. I can see everything on my iphone too.
So I am guessing this is just an issue with my Macbook Pro, but have no idea how to fix it. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
    Mike T

After trying all of the above and finding a random thread out there, I went ahead and put my SuperDrive back in and placed my secondary drive as the primary and was able to install Windows 7 without a hitch.
So I guess that "solved" my problem. I popped my secondary drive (with Bootcamp) back into place and put my SSD as the primary again, and I was able to boot into Windows.
Stinks that I had to do ALL OF THAT and trick my MB Pro like that.
    But hey, it's working. Hooray.

  • HT204053 How can I get an icloud account without merging my husbands iphone info, we have same itunes acct

My family shares the same itunes account on all three iphones and my ipad.  I am trying to back up my iphone data without having it merge with my husband and daughters iphone.  How do I do this?  I just tried to back up my device in itunes with a protected password and it will not back up.  Can I create an icloud account for my phone and different icloud accounts for my husband and daughter and still keep our itunes account?
    Thanks
    Denise

Yes, you can do that. Just create a new iCloud account for you:
    1. "Settings > iCloud" (log out from your husbands account, if you are signed in and delete this account from your iPhone)
    2. Create a new iCloud account on your iPhone with a free me.com email address:
    "Setting > iCloud"
    or
"Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > iCloud"
    3. After that you will have the opportunity to sync and backup your personal mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes etc. completely separated from your husbands account.
    4. But make sure to keep your husbands account for iTunes and app purchases:
"Settings > iTunes & App Stores"
I hope that answers your question and will help you.

As per SAP Note - 1432731, this issue is targeted to be fixed in SP5.  The proposed workaround is:
    - restart  CMS, then the Adaptive Job Server(s) and WebI Processing Server(s).
For some Production environment that may be an issue.
However, I also tested following workaround which seemed to have worked:
    1. launched the Instance Manager and checked how many Pending instances objects were displayed for a single report.
There were too many (about 1,595)
    2. Used the Query Builder and delete those Pending instances
Having applied this workaround, most of recurring reports completed successfully.

  • Is there a way to be reminded of an entire list, not just individualized items?

    Hi there,
I'm wondering if there is a way to set a reminder in the Reminders app to complete an entire list, and not just an individualized items?
For example, I have a Groceries reminder list and I was wondering if I could set a reminder to get everything instead of setting a reminder for each individual item.
    Thanks!

I put my list of items in the notes area of the reminder.

I'm interested in using Flex for such. First screen will be a

You'd probably be better off just developing an application
    in Microsoft
Access, unless you have a need to deliver to Mac. The
    advantage of Access
is that the back end database can be served or not, and it

  • T440s is killing Samsung 840 pro SSD's

    Hi all,
I have a new T440s, bought with HDD. As I wanted to use a reliable SSD, I bought a Samsung 840 pro, which I already have running in another system. This is when the problems started. In a German Forum several users report similar problems, so I just wanted to provide a summary here, so that maybe the international community can help. I consider myself as an experienced user, have built various PC systems over the past years and have currently a desktop system running with Samsung 840 pro. Here are the details:
I have installed Windows 8.1 (various times, first clone from HDD and later after recurring problems, complete clean install from Win 8.1 DVD), Bios set to UEFI only + Intel Rapid Start disabled before installation.
The issue is now that with the SSD I am getting constant HDD errors (visible in EventViewer), so that usually after a few hours of operation the OS gets damaged to the point that it cannot boot any more. I should mention that the same system is running stable with the original HDD. First I thought it is a defective SSD and I got it replaced by Samsung. However, with the replaced new SSD I am facing the same issues. Earlier this year I fixed a problem on a desktop PC with 840 pro where the symptoms looked similar. In case of the desktop system, the issue could be fixed by replacing the SATA cable (which is obviously not an option on the T440s).
And yes, I am using the latest SSD firmware, BIOS update, Lenovo drivers. Now, the issue is that I do not seem to be the only one with these problems. Other users in a German Thinkpad forum report similar problems and not only on Windows systems but also on Linux installations (one even got the mainboard replaced by Lenovo and it still did not solve the problem).
I contacted Lenovo support and they replied that they are only supporting original Lenovo SSD's. I must say that I am really disapointed that my brand new system from a renowned manufacturer consistently does not work with one of the most widely used SSD's. Currently, some users in the German forum report that they are having more luck with Samsung EVO SSDs. However, after this experience, I really lost confidence in the T440s. If the design should have problems with Sata 3, I don't know if I can trust this notebook in a business environment.
    Any comments/suggestions highly welcome.
    Regards,
    Frank
PS: Here is a reference (of at least two other users reporting this issue in this forum here, in German though)

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First of all (In the US at least), there are up to 5 different OEM SSD drives to choose from (depending on what base model is selected), with what in addition looks like 3 different variations (regular?, OPAL and edrive).
    Hard drive
128 GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3[subtract $150.00]
    180GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 Opal[subtract $50.00]
256 GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 eDrive Capable
    240GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 Opal[add $50.00]
    512GB Solid State Drive SATA3[add $250.00]
When I was researching SSD drives for the T440s a month ago, I came across the following, although I do not know the accuracy of the information:
Does anyone know the difference between these two drive options:
256 GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 eDrive Capable
240GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 Opal [add $50.00]
The 240GB is an Intel Pro 1500 and the 256GB are either Liteon (Plextor) M6S or Samsung PM841 TLC Drives (OEM 840s).

  • Gps very inaccurate with 4s

I'm having problems with the gps on my iphone 4s. I know that apple recommends turning on wifi for more accurate results but my battery life is just too awful to do that.
My 3gs gps was very accurate without wifi but my new 4s seems to be much worse. It's frequently off by several blocks which basically makes location reminders useless.
Is there any reason the 4s would be worse? Do I possibly have a lemon of some sort?
    thanks

Yes, somehow either because of the changes to the operating system or the phone itself, we have been put in a position where we are forced to leave wifi on all the time to get the gps to work. I personally hate this becasue A its a huge battery drain and B it's a huge pain to constantly dismiss the phone asking me if I want to join one of the many networks its picking up every time I want to do something. Ofen the wifi pop up window is delayed and im already pressing the screen for other reasons and it thinks im trying to join a network. ug!
In my experience, location reminders are basically completely disabled without wifi.
What I dont understand is what happened between my 3gs and ios4 and my 4s and ios 5.
I want to compare it to other peoples phones in the same places and se if they get the same results. If you have a chance to do the same, post your results here.

  • Reminders- Unable to check off recurring tasks as completed on my iMac

I have a weird question.  I use reminders on my iMac (located in Calendar), on my iPhone and iPad.  It is all syncing nicely with iCloud, however I am unable to check-off items completed that are recurring (for instance made the house payment) on my iMac ONLY.  In other words, I am able to check these items off on my iPhone or my iPad and then it is removed and renewed for the next month on my iMac when I do so but I cannot do this for some reason on my iMac.  I can check off non-recurring items on my iMac without a problem.
    Any suggestions?

Same issue here.  If I check them off via iCloud.com (on Mac or Windows PC) they disappear completely.  If I check them off from iPhone/iPad, the "current" one marks complete and the next occurance shows up as expected.
Apple -- please fix this bug!

  • IOS 6 Shows Recurring Reminders as Overdue

I have several reminders set up in my MacBook, iPhone 4, and iPad 2 and sync them with iCloud. Some of these are recurring, so I have set them to repeat using the reminders schedule.
In iOS 5, these recurring reminders never showed as overdue (posts a number on the Reminders home screen icon) on the iPhone and iPad, because they really aren't overdue, as they repeat. Now, with iOS 6, they do show as overdue.
Is there any way to get this behavior to be like is was in iOS 5?

Just tick the reminder as completed and it will reset it for you.

  • How to clear completed reminders in iCal

Has anyone figured out how to clear completed (checked done) reminders in iCal?

    Joe,
That clarifies the question for me. Go to iCal>Preferences>Advanced and make your choices:

  • Tasks/Reminders added from Outlook (iCloud Control Panel synced) can't be checked off as completed on iOS

I have Outlook on my PC, and can interact with the iOS reminders/tasks through syncing with the iCloud Control Panel. However, if I add a task/reminder this way I have been unable to mark the reminder as complete on my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). The reminders show up, but clicking on the circle to the left of the task just updates the UI (fills in a circle). If you exit the reminders app or Today screen and go back, the task still remains uncompleted in the list.
Has anyone else seen this? Right now, from iOS, I can only get rid of the reminders by deleting (instead of completing) them ... which is not ideal.
    Current Configuration:
    iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1
    iPad Air with iOS 7.1
Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 with iCloud Control Panel 3.1

    Hello desert_dweller5,
It sounds like you art trying to access a Shared Photo Stream, but you do not have one of the devices to enable your Apple ID as an iCloud account.  The following article provides information on how Shared Photo Streams work:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
The article states that for privately Shared Photo Streams to work, the recipient will not only have to have an Apple ID, but it will have to be an iCloud account:
Friends and family with iCloud accounts can view your photos in the Photos app on any device using iOS 6 or later; on a Mac in iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later; on a Windows PC with Windows Vista or later and iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed; or on a second generation or later Apple TV with software version 5.1 or later installed. They can also view your photos on the web if you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your Shared Photo Stream.
Since you do not have an iCloud account and just and Apple ID, your friend can share the photo stream as a public website so that you can view it, as stated in the same article:
Can I share with people who don't have an iCloud account?
Yes. If you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your shared photo stream your photos will be published to a website that anyone can view in an up-to-date web browser.
To be able to change an Apple ID to an iCloud account, you would need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later as stated in the following article:
Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions

  • Outlook tasks completed in iOS Reminders app regenerate 'orphaned' reminders endlessly in Outlook.

Our small business runs up-to-date (iOS 8) Apple devices that sync via MS Exchange with our email, contacts, reminders, etc.
I create a task in Outlook and include a reminder. The task and reminder sync to Reminders on my iPhone and iPad. When I mark a task complete on mobile, the reminder disappears there as it should... but it regenerates the reminder in Outlook! The Outlook task is complete, but the reminder pops up at the top of the list in the Outlook reminders pop-up window. Marking it complete there is an option, but it just regenerates a new reminder. The only way to remove this 'orphan' reminder is to dismiss the reminder or delete the task.
The iOS 8 Reminders app would be very useful but for this bug. It's even better that it puts my work tasks and home tasks (we use a Mac at home so no problem there) in one place. But as it is, the app is not a time saver, but a time-waster and a source of frustration.
    Please advise!
