Remmina not transmitting mouse wheel to VNC session

Hi,
I have just noticed that remmina is not transmitting mouse wheel events to VNC session. Never tried RDP, so I don't know if this is also affected.
First question: Is it only on my system or a general problem on Arch ?
If it is a general problem on Arch ...
I did a bit research abot this subject area, and I found some bug reports in multiple distros, but they are all marked as solved. So I think that it is fixed upstream. Otherwise the distros could not mark it as solved, right ?
If the package maintainer should read this ... is there a plan to update this package in near future ?
Thanks and Regards,
Markus

Usability bugs. The most annoying one was the size of the remmina window that was "never" right. And clicking the "1" button (top left) did unpredictable things. In most cases the window was maximised to full screen height leaving black bars above and below. The bug seems to appear less and less. I promise I will file a bug when I experience it again :-)
Crashes were always rare in my case.
But here's not the right place to lament around.

  • My mouse wheel is not resizing text like it's supposed to ... how do I fix this?

BACKGROUND: I'm getting tired of warnings in Seamonkey about sites no longer supporting it, and am considering switching to firefox (with the add-ons that keep the Mozilla look and feel, instead of trying to pretend it's M$ IE (which I wouldn't touch with a 100000000 foot pole).
Problem #1: I'm used to my mouse wheel resizing text in a tab,
but for some reason, I can't find the option to enable this in firefox.
How do I configure this to work properly? I seem to recall an add-on that fixes this, but can't find it now.
Problem #2: I had an add-on (back when I first tested firefox), that restored Edit-->Preferences, but it's no longer working. Is there another way to put the Preferences option where I'm used to looking for it?
    Thanks,

I guess the track pad settings would look similar to my screen shot?

  • Mouse Wheel  under Windows XP Does not work- 9.0.3

I use Windows XP and JDeveloper9.02 handled mouse wheel scrolling reasonably well(help files could not be scrolled). I can not use the mouse wheel in the Jdeveloper9.03 editor or the help files. Am I missing something? I thought JDeveloper9.03 added mouse wheel capability as its new release feature.
I know user's of windows 98 had problem with mouse wheel. However, migrating to JDeveloper9.03 seems to have fixed the mouse wheel problem for Windows98 users and made it a problem for WindowsXP users!

I work with Ramin. Both he and I just unzipped JDev903 to a new folder (C:\Program Files\OracleJDeveloper903). There was no mention in the readme file about having to uninstall the prior version, and since it didn't have a Windows installer (the files are merely unzipped), we didn't think that it mattered that another version was on disk. He was running only the 903 version -- the 902 version was simply on the disk just like dozens of other programs are on the disk. I don't believe he rebooted after exiting 902 and unzipping 903, if that matters. So I think what he did was
    1) run 902
    2) quit 902
    3) unzip 903 to new folder
    4) run 903 and notice mouse doesn't work
Questions: Do you recommend getting rid of 902 totally off your disk? If not, do you recommend installing it to the same folder or a different folder? What about rebooting in-between running/quitting 902 and running 903?
(FYI: By the way, I unzipped it and then tried to open up one of my existing workspaces. I found I couldn't browse up the the root folder. It said "I/O Error: The dir c:\ is not accessible. Please select a different directory." It had me in the c:\Program Files\OracleJDeveloper903 folder and I wanted to go to c:\My Documents. I couldn't browse there because I needed to pass through the root to get there. The workaround was to type in c:\My Documents into the File field. However I'm using Win98 but I plan on going to Win2000. Perhaps that will fix the root problem. My mouse works now in win98 but I hope I don't lose that functionality when I go to 2000.)

  • [X300] Mouse Wheel Scroll Lines Setting does not stick

I often use an external mouse (no additional driver needed). After every reboot, the setting "Mouse Wheel Scroll Lines" in Control-Panel -> Mouse -> Wheel is reset to 1 (I am using Vista). This is really annoying because it slows down scrolling extremely.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I think its caused somehow by the ALPS touchpad driver (The X300 has a really bad one, the Synaptics pads built in previous Thinkpads were WAY BETTER).

    VPN User ...
Have you made any progress?  I am having no luck getting the X300 touchpad to scroll with MANY applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, Access to mention some.  I use Windows XP - another user has complained that with Vista he does not getting scrolling to work with iTunes, Live Search.  Plus, wheel events are not handled by the Remote Desktop, so anytime you are tunneling, you don't get touchpad scrolling.  I have been expecting a new UltraNav driver for months - but nothing yet.  I think I have tried every combination of touchpad and trackpoint settings possible, but maybe you know something I don't.

I am sorry but the problem you describe is a completely different one. Personally, I don' t care for these few applications, especially iTunes and further rubbish. Fact is, the quality Ultranav2 Driver is much much worse compared to the Ultranav1 which uses a Synaptic touchpad. Responsiveness, accuracy, supported applications, bugs are much worse with the Ultranav2 used in X300.
AFAIK adding applications to support the touchpad needs just adding them to some list in registry or what. But as I said, I never cared for that. The problem that the driver resets mouse settings when using it, I find much more disturbing.

  • Mouse wheel stops scrolling page, and sometimes refresh does not refresh the correct tab, but the first one in the window.

I have 27 firefox windows open with a grand total of 141 tabs.
Some times the input is directed to the wrong window. I will click refresh and it will refresh the first tab in a window, but not the tab I am on. Apparently this also happens when I try and use the mouse wheel or the up and down arrow to scroll a page.
Some times it works correctly on 1 window, but when I switch to another scrolling stops working.
Usually rebooting the computer helps, but I should not have to do that.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance

  • CS5.5 Faster? Not with my mouse wheel

I worked with 1.5 daily for years and used the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of a waveform. It became second nature. I use it literally ALL THE TIME. Now that I'm testing the CS5.5 Trial version, I have come to a stall. The mouse wheel works....sort of...but very slowly and delayed. For me, with what we do, it is a major issue. It slows me down in editing and cleaning up clicks, pops, mouse noise, etc on a waveform. To have to click on + or - means I have to take my hand off the mouse and move it to keybroard and back to the mouse. That may not seem like much but when you are accustomed to working rapidly, it's a big deal.
The question is...why is it so slow to react? I thought CS5.5 was faster.  Is there a way to make the mouse wheel work like it did in 1.5?
Does the fact that CS5.5 is Mac-available have something to do with this.?
I am trying hard to adapt to CS5.5 but have a list of issues that I have with it. (I'll get to those later) The lazy mouse-wheel is a big one for me.
    Alex

Sorry Alex, I just don't see that behaviour here!
I've just done a "quick test"; a 24 minutes long wav file, I can zoom from the full waveform to a 6 second section with 4 "moves" of the mouse wheel and without any delay..  I don't think I would want it any faster than that!  Is it substantially different for you?

  • Copy to/from clipboard not working to/from VNC session

Using the default VNC client that comes with Snow Leopard, I am unable to copy/paste text from/to the VNC session window to/from my Mac. Under the ScreenSharing View menu, I selected 'Show Toolbar". I see the 2 icons for "Get remote clipboard contents" and "Send clipboard contents to remote clipboard" but the Icons are disabled. How do I enable the icons? Is there any other way to copy/paste?

Are you connecting to another Mac running Snow Leopard? Or Leopard? Or a non-Mac? I believe that OSX's implementation of VNC (a.k.a. Screen Sharing) can only transfer clipboards between Macs. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) (I'm not exactly certain about clipboard compatibility between Leopard and Snow Leopard, but I know it won't work between Mac and and a PC running VNC. (Or at least it doesn't work with the VNC client's I'm using on my PCs.)

  • Zoom with Alt + Mouse wheel not working

I used to be able to zoom in and out in Lightroom by pressing the alt (or option key) and scrolling up or down.   Suddenly this stopped working.  It still works fine in other apps like Photoshop, just not Lightroom.  Any suggestions?

I'm on Windows - and for me, Ctrl + scroll wheel zooms the image (not Alt + scroll wheel). That's a common shortcut in many programs (don't know about MacOS though).
However, I personally find mouse clicking between (say) 1:1 and Fill, hitting the space bar as needed (also using that to pan) both quicker, and more useful.

  • Mouse Wheel Not working in a Browser

I'm using AS3 and created a MOUSE WHEEL EventListener. It works fine when testing in the Flash authoring program...but not in the browser.
(except In IE...which I found odd).
I have looked around in different forums and many people have this problem and explanations on why it doesn't work.
I believe the problem cannot be solved in Flash...but through JavaScript.
So my question is...does anyone have a JavaScript code that would make this work?
    Thanks

  • Why I can not scroll menu drop down via mouse wheel to pick an option that is not visible?

I am using FF 22.0 on Windows 8. When I start scrolling on drop down menu which show the vertical scroll bar via mouse wheel event on my touch pad when the cursor is on the menu area, Firefox just close the menu. I don't install any add on related to mouse/touch event.
Toggling Use autoscrolling, Use smooth scrolling, or Use hardware acceleration has no effect.
This error behavior is not happening in IE 10. I just want some clarification whether this is a bug or I just failed to find some configurations that fix it.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Mouse wheel not detected

I'm using 64-bit arch on a MacBook Pro.  The trackpad is working much better now (thanks Allan McRae!) but the mouse wheel on any external mice is not detected.  For example on MacOS I have a Logitech M555b connected via Bluetooth, and magically that mouse keeps working in Arch... but without any wheel.  (aside... that's interesting, it must be that the MB bluetooth has firmware to treat connected HID devices as USB HID? because I didn't even have to mess with bluez to get it working)    Likewise if I plug in an old USB Dell mouse its wheel doesn't work either.  Here's the relevant stuff from Xorg.0.log:

            Identifier "evdev pointer catchall"

    EndSection
    which didn't help.
xev doesn't see events for the wheel.

    Hi,
I'm having the same issue, I bought a Logitech Bluetooth mouse, and I found that it works "magically" without any configuration.
The strange thing it's that as far as I know, the btusb.c of kernel 26.36 doesn't have the right string for macbook pro bluetooth controller, so for hcitool, dmesg, etc, there isn't any bluetooth in the system.
The mouse as ecloud told, works, but without the mouse wheel. I'm not sure what would be the best thing to do, if recompile the kernel to make bluetooth work, or maybe it's possible to configure udev to have the wheel working...
Any suggestion or help would be very appreciated!
    Thanks,

I have written a program to support mouse wheel action in my appplication. (using 1.4.1) This works fine on my desktop PC but on my HP Laptop it is a no go.
The mouseWheelMoved event doesn't even register on the built-in mouse pad of HP. (I checked it out in debug mode and moving the HP mouse wheel does not generate a mouseWheelMoved event.)

Maybe it registers as some other mouse event. Have you trying listening and reporting other events?

  • AIR mouse wheel support - not customizable

    Hello,
I never used and never needed Adobe AIR until I contracted some subscriptions trough Zinio.
One of the most hurting and missing feature, for me, is the ability to configure the mouse wheel command as a Zoom In/Out function.
Scrolling can easily be achieved through Left click and drag, but Zooming is only accessed through a menu which is a pain.
    What do you think?

    Hi,
This is actually not a limitation of AIR/Flash, but more a design decision by Zinio.  I would recommend dropping them a comment and letting them know your idea.  I think it sounds very reasonable and something that could at least be a user preference.

at mac system, mouse wheel can't work on browser (

somebody can tell me why? and how to fix this problem.

    very thanks for LuigiL.
i know this way, but it's not a good way. i must do

i think single flash player can support, why browser can't ?
the problem is browser or OS ? can adobe contact apple to fix this
