Remodelling Issue

Hi All
I am working on BI 7 wherein I have removed 3 chars out of 5 from a Dimension table through Remodelling Toolbox and schedule the same immediately and activated the InfoCube
When I transport the same to the quality box, I am getting an error stating that the dimension which I have changed is not activated
I have checked the same in the quality box client and can see that the structure of the Cube got changed where in it shows only 2 chars beneath the dimension but the dimension table remains the same with 5 chars
again I have checked the dimension table in SE11
I am getting a message
"Enhancement category for table missing
Enhancement category for include or subtype missing

that is the link I have, but really doesn't answer your question.
Does your cube has data in? I am guessing that, during remodeling you need to make sure everything is green and if one fails, you can restart it back. And also can you check in Dev box if the dim table has removed the fields? If the dim table removed the fields in the dev box, then I would recommend you reimporting the transport with overwrite option.
During remodeling, once the remodeling process is complete, you don't have to make any modification to the remodeled cube other than activating the cube and update rules.

Help with touchpad issue!!

After looking on the web, I realise this is not an isolated issue and many people have had it.
*Problem in bold if you cant be bothered reading everything :)*
The problem I have is with the touchpad on my Macbook Pro. This morning my mac had a funny turn and kept freezing soon after loading up the desktop. I could move around with the touchpad but not do much else, so I restarted and plugged in an external mouse and this worked. So I was really annoyed (My TV had decided it was going to pack in aswell this morn) and was about to hurl my mac at the TV to teach them both a lesson when my TV fixed itself and my touchpad gained some usability.
This is the strangest part - to start with the touchpad could double click - but you had to use three fingers instead of two, it could three finger swipe - but with four fingers and 5 fingers for expose!! But I couldn't single click. *Now, However, I can do everything on the mac by touching the pad but there is no response when I physically click the pad down. You can hear the click but nothing happens, unless you press really hard, in which case it works 1 out of 5 attempts.*
My macbook is only four months old, so I'm presuming it is still under warranty? However, I didn't buy directly from Apple but instead from Currys, will this make a difference. I would just take it in to an Apple Store but the nearest one is about 1.5 hours away and I have no car So I don't want to waste money and time getting there only for them to turn me away/ have no warranty!!

How to Load data in remodeled info provider(Info cube) ?

I have added one key figure in existing cube by using remodeling process.
I changed the transformation rule and reloaded the data but the new key figure is still showing value as 0.
Can anyone please explain complete step by step process of loading data in remodeled info cube.
I am new to SAP BW. please help me to sort out this issue.

After adding the key figure, use one of the following options to populate data.
1. Constant: To populate constant data for new key figure.
2. User Exit: To populate data from different source.
For replacing the key figure, use the following option to populate data.
Customer Exit: To populate data for the replaced key figure.

Key issue

I am having an issue with my Itouch that there is a portion of the screen, right side, that I cannot use. It is not letting me use letters such as "i", "j", or "m". I am not sure why. Anyone else have this issue???

Try #2 and 3. If neither works, you may need your screen digitizer replaced.

Error on display of remodelling rule in Quality System

Hi,
I have created a remodelling rule to delete a characteristic infoobject from a cube and the same in working fine in the development system.
I transported the remodelling rule to the Quality system. the same was transported with out any error.
But when I go the RSA1 --> adminstration -->remodelling and select the remodelling rule from dropdown and click on display, I am getting an error message.
Namespace '/BIC/' must be set to 'changeable' (transaction SE06)
Message no. R7063
Has anyone encoutered the same error ?
Any help is resolving the above error will be highly appreciated and rewarded.

Hi Venkata,
I have not worked with the remodelling. But Remodelling is changing the InfoCube definition in the QA/Prod systems directly.
I had this issue earlier when I tried to modify something in the QA system directly. The issue was because the /BIC/ namespace was non-modifiable in QA. As this setting is system specific and need not be transported we had asked Basis to make the change in QA.

CRM Report issues.

Hi Folks,
Could anyone provide some light on these issues.
Basically data is coming from crm server using function module extracton.
these are the issues:
1.for date fields data is not coming.
2.some fields are picking numerical values like for ex user name is picking values like 77,78 etc.how to get names.all the characteristic properties have been checked.numerical values are coming from source system itself.
3.some new fields are added in data source,so could i go for remodeling option using 1:1 maping.after remodeling what has to be done.
4.for delta settings calday is possible.
could anything be done manually on bi side to replace numerical values to text for ex username in above case.

Again needs to look at FM to find the issue,get some help from ABAPer to debug

Remodeling is used in order to reflect historical data for those new fields.Please search forums on how to use remodeling in cube
4.for delta settings calday is possible.
Delta needs to be handled in FM only on some date field.

Dump "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED" while implementing Remodeling

Remodeling a time characteristic in a cube - Doesn't allow??

I have a cube containing time characteristic 0CALWEEK. I would like to use the remodeling toolkit so i can write some custom user exit code to replace the values in this field based on logic. However I am not allowed to select this field!! Why doesn't SAP allow you to remodel (change values) in any of the time characteristics in a cube?? Is there any way around this?

You are close to my issue. This is a regular basic cube. (no non-cumulative)
It contains snapshots of an 18 month plan (future dates). We have over 2 years of snapshots. Last year the source system sending us the plan data used a calendar that handled the weeks of 2010 differently than the SAP calendar. (SAP buckets the first 10 days of 2010 in week 1; whereas our company only used first 3 days of 2010 as week 1).
Anyway, we have about 100 million records in these snapshots to adjust the calendar week to match up with the SAP calendar week.
All we wanted to do was to use the remodeling toolkit on the 0calweek field and choose "replace characteristic" and populate with a bit of ABAP code. However we are not allowed to pick any time characteristics.
We know we could always use the old standard ways to move data around to dummy cubes and fix, but that takes hours of processing for all the data we have to do. (actually about 10 cubes this size).
So we are testing the remodeling toolkit by adding a new characteristic that "references" ocalweek and using Abap to populate that the way we want. We can move the queries over to the new field. That seems to be working and fast since work is done using Oracle level commands, instead of data packet by data packet.
Do you have any other ideas?

Remodeling an InfoCube in BW 3.5

Hallo experts!
What is the best way to remodel dimensions of an productive InfoCube?
What I know:
- copy InfoCube A to InfoCube B
- generate an exportDataSource on A
- load data in B from A
- delete data in A
- remodel
- generate an exportDataSource on B
- load data in A from B
Is this the best way? Any other Ideas? If I have a very large InfoCube, is it the best way to have an InfoCube as B? Wouldn't be an ODS-Object better because It maybe is faster to write in and read from a flat table?
Is it a problem if the InfoCube is compressed?
Anything else I should know?

In my opinion you have the best way of doing and proceed with this model. info cube is better than ODS because you are copying data from Cube to cube so that structure will be the same.
I didn't get your compression question correctly but there won't be any issues if you copy data from existing compression cube to other cube.

Restoring issue

hello,
today I woke up to find my phone (iPhone 3Gs) was not working correctly; my internet and other features would not function along with other issues. I figured a simple fix was to restart my phone so I did so. when I turned the phone back on it showed up with a picture of a usb cable and a disk saying I needed to plug the phone into iTunes.
I did so and nothing happened so I tried to restore my phone to the factory settings but for some reason it wont allow me to do so. it gave me an error (3149) and told me an unexpected error had occurred.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Remodelling with customer exit

Hello Colleagues,
I have gone thru the threads but couldnt find correct thread to address my issue.
could you please help me on fulfilling this requirement.
requirement is :
1) Add a charectesristic Infoobject to existing infocube by remodelling option.
2) in remodelling we have to use customer exit option.
3)the new infobject should be populated with comparing data from another DSO.
Ex: in the datapackge loading to Infocube I have prodcut type infoobject. in DSO I have product type and status Infoobjects.
so it has to lookup the DSO for corrsponding product type values in Datapackage and populate the newly added charecteristic infoobject with DSO's status Infobject values.
please help me in how to write code for this!!

Ipod touch hardware issue?

My ipod touch is doing some very strange things. When I am running an app, or on the internet, the app or Safari will close and display the menu screen. Then the screen will toggle back and forth from the menu screens, including the "Search iPod" screen. This is occurring without my touching the screen! If I try to go back to my app or web browsing, it will play tug of war with me and flip back to the menu/Search iPod screens. It will also occasionally turn on automatically, without being touched. I am guessing that this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure if I need to replace the LCD Screen Display, or if it is the touch screen digitizer assembly, or something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Remodelling error CL_RSCNV_ADD_CHAR

Experts,
I have created a remodel rule to include a characteristic using customer exit.
While i run i get a runtime error "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED" " "
"CL_RSCNV_ADD_CHAR=============CP" or "CL_RSCNV_ADD_CHAR=============CM002"
"IF_RSCNV_OPERATION~CONVERT"

Can you please check the Note is applicable for you?
Note 935400 - Remodeling does not call Customer Exit
Note 966463 - Remodeling check gives wrong messages
Normally this issue should not come if you are in BI7.0 - BI-Patch 08 or SAPKW70008. OR BI-Patch 10 or SAPKW70010

Issue with iPhone 4 setup/restore

I had an iPhone4 which was replaced by a new iPhone 4, due to an issue with the proximity sensor.
Hardware details:
My Macbook Pro to which the iPhone is synced to has the latest version of iTunes, the old phone was running iOS 4.3, while the new one had iOS 4.2.
I tried to do a restore (setup) on new iPhone, but I kept getting an error. I then checked iOS on new phone and realized it was running 4.2. After which I updated it to 4.3. This still didn't fix my problem with restore, as they were still failing. So I set it up as a new phone. Assuming all my data would be safe and I could then copy to my new iPhone.
When setup was complete I saw that my address book and photos (which came from my original iPhone) were all gone from my laptop. After searching everywhere, I found a file that appears to be my iPhone data backup, in the trash bin. I assume it contains all my data from the old phone.
My question is, am I correct in that, this is my cell phone backup data file and if so can it be retrieved?

Remodeling the cube and adding sales document number

HI guys
I have a requirement of sales order number in the sales over view cube ( 0sd_c03 ) so i am planing to remodel the cube to add sales order number and item
as i can not create a new dimension i have to add these two charecteritics to a old dimension
so whether it will give any perfomance issues later on as the sales document number will increase the
records in that dimesion or can i go ahead to do it or i have to delete the data in cube and change the cube adding a new diemension ( line item dimension)
please suggest..

Hi Amiya,
Regarding ur case ..
In my opinion, it should be separated into different dimension ..
Because it will make that old table dimension become have huge data,
it will make slow in fetching the data.
To make it.
1. Edit Info-Cube using t-code RSA1
2. Create new dimension, and insert dummy characteristic, then save, and activate it.
3. In the remodeling, t-code: RSMRT, you can add those 2 characteristics there, you also can initilize the value for those characteristic.
4. Then, in the remodeling, you delete the dummy characteristic.
