Remote app in iOS 7 doesn't bring keyboard when entering text.

I tried to use the remote app with my new iPad air with iOS 7 with and when I tried to make a search for a movie it won't bring the keyboard as before when entering text. The funny thing is that I have an old iPod 4th gen with iOS 6, and that one still brings the keyboard every time text needs to be entered, even still has the option to hide and bring out the keyboard. Is this feature gone forever in iOS 7? Or is missing and will be added later?

This is now fixed. The remote has two modes. It starts with an interface similar to iTunes to play music or videos from your library, on the top right side it has a keyboard (mine appeared greyed out and I was unable to activate it, but now works), and an axis which brings the other remote everyone is familiar with to select the icons on the tv screen. The other remote now has a small keyboard icon on the top right which didn't used to have before. I don't know what I did to activate it, however, it won't bring the keyboard automatically like before. Another way to bring the keyboard, if yours still stuck, is to highlight any of the letters in the menu, and swipe from right to left, the highlight will cursor will hide, swipe again and that brings up the keyboard. How? Why? Still a mystery to me, but I happy I can use remote again.

I use the AiO Remote app on IOS to scan legal size documents. I think my problem is with the latest update of this app as I never had this issue in the past. I scan the multi-page LEGAL size doc with no issues. I see the doc pages in legal size format in the app. Once I click on SAVE, all of a sudden the app shrinks the legal size to fit letter size. Eos remote app for iOS

The idea was great, however the development seems to be stopped on this.
It hasn't been updated since Dec of last year.
Will there be a new version of EOS Remote app for iOS?
Features I'd like to see from the upgrade (if there's any)
1) Full size image transfer
2) Video file transfer
3) Indicate if a file is already downloaded to the phone or not.

I am not sure if or when the next version of the app will be released, or what features will be added to it, but I have forwarded your suggestions along. This feedback is very important to Canon. Yes, you do need an antivirus app for iOS. However, they don't currently exist because Apple refuses to make their 'proprietary' technical OS specifics freely available as open source code or to any Antivirus companies, who could examine and potentially identify security holes. Many security problems have been identified by Apple and fixed as part of iOS updates in the past (details are readily available in the iOS update information) and this will likely be a bigger problem in the future as malware authors move toward the technology leader as a target. But right now you can't get an antivirus app for iOS which scans the iOS device wholesale. This is despite the fact that (legitimate) apps are available which can take control of the entire device, install apps, wipe them or the device, view information, etc (for example Sophos Mobile Control). SMC can be installed by tapping an email link to a website and then tapping 'OK' to a couple of dialogues.

Keyboard issue using Danish keyboard on Remote app for iOS.

I have noticed a quite annoying issue with the Remote Desktop for iOS when using foreign keyboards along with the Remote Desktop app.
The PC I'm remoting to from my iPad Air is a Windows 7 machine with an English Windows.
I have a danish keyboard layout installed, and have removed the English keyboard.
But.. Here comes the strange issue.
If I connect via Remote Desktop before I log into my PC (from my PC), the special characters like :;/*^%}{ ect. works just fine on my iPad.
If I then log on to my PC from the PC, the keyboard on the PC has been changed to english, even though there's no english keybord layout installed on my PC.
The special characters like the danish æøå has been changed out with ; and other wrong characters.
I then have to press CTRL+SHIFT on my PC to change it back to the danish layout.
But... If I do so on my PC and afterwards connect via the Remote Desktop app on my iPad Air, the keyboard is messed up on my iPad.
All the special characters like /:;)(^#%{ is placed wrong and give me a wrong character.
And that happens even if I change the keyboard on my iPad to English.
I really hope you will be able to fix this in a future update enabling full support for foreign keyboards between iOS7 and Windows 7.

Why are the characters mixed up in the session?
This issue can occur if the keyboard language has been switched on the remote PC while running a remote desktop session. In the case you would like to switch to a different keyboard language
follow these instructions.
Note: The remote PC selects the system language of the device running the remote desktop client and not the keyboard language. When switching the keyboard language on your device, you need
to manually switch the keyboard language on the remote PC.
1. Open settings on your device.
2. Tap General and then tap International.
3. Tap Language and select the language running on the remote PC.
4. Open the RD Client and connect to the remote PC and check if the Windows keyboard language matches the language that you selected.

Problems with Remote App on iOS 4?

I have a new iPhone 4 and tried to use the Remote App in Connection with Apple TV. While I'am able to pair the remote app with Apple TV, I cannot use it properly. It works for a while, then it get's disconnected with a message that maybe a Firewall might be activated in the Router.
I have no problems with Remote App connected to my iTunes Library. I also tried it with a iPod Touch which is still on iOS 3.1.3, no problems to connect to the Apple TV from there as well.
Are there any known problems with iOS 4 and Apple TV?

May I ask what wifi hardware you use? It might be an wifi issue, but one which is only related with the "Bonjour" protocol which seems to be used for the Remote App. I found this thread which is older (iOS 3) but describing exactly the same problems:

bear in mind that the iphone4 is now "n" wifi compatible (2.4Ghz), so could it be that the "n" part of your network is poor and thus why you only see the problem on the iphone4 ?
At least it is not poor when using it from other devices or moving a lot of data in other Apps. It is all Apple Hardware (nothing older than 2 years), and maybe that's the problem. I never had network hardware which made so much trouble, as Apples Airport series. I wouldn't wonder if it is an incompatibility between a new wifi chip in the iPhone 4 and a older Revision of an Airport device. But I don't know how to check - is there a system.log on the iPhone which I can access somehow?

HT1947 Remote app under iOS 7 does not rotate to landscape mode

I am using the remote app to control iTunes on my computer. I have an iPad 2 with iOS 7.0.2. The remote app only displays in portrait mode. If I rotate the iPad the app stays in portrait mode. Anyone know how to fix this.

The iTune Remote App has stopped finding my iTunes library when connected to wifi from my main router, but works fine when connected via second wifi router on the same network (different SSID)

I'm running iTunes Remote App from a couple of iPhone 5's and a first generation iPod Touch. iTunes is running on a PC - Windows 7. My home network runs two Wifi Routers, each with a different SSID. I've had no problems with the Remote app running this set up for the last 8 months but recently the App can only find my iTunes library when the iPhone/iPod is connected via one specific router, when connected to the network via the other router, no iTunes library is found. I'm also running an Apple TV and it's the same as the iTunes Library, only visible via the one SSID.
Everything else seems to work fine when connected via either router, eg Internet on the iPhones (definitely via wifi)
I've tried renewing the lease on the iPhone wifi connection, restarting everything.....several times.....
It used to work fine, this only seems to have been a problem in recent weeks
Any help or advice would be much appreciated

It turned out to be the firewall settings on our router. Her machine was sending traffic that our router interpreted as a DoS attack and blacklisted her Airport's MAC address. That's why it would work fine if she switched to Ethernet.

Before installing iOS 7, my iPhone 5 worked like a Swiss watch [with iOS 6.1.4] smoothly and flawlessly. After installing iOS 7 [despite the upgrade to version 7.0.3] iphone got some paranoia and a lag in the system application - Preferences app., not in application from app store !!

Second: if you take iPhone, look at the home screen, here you can find several square icons. One of them is gray square with sprockets, when you touch this, its open setup screen where you can change iPhone preferences - wifi, Bluetooth, hotspot etc. [no offense, but more simply can not be explained].
As I said [see in my first post] sometimes when I tried to open „iPhone preferences” the setup screen closed. In service data which is send to Apple, iOS placed information about crashes and here I found info [copy below]:

Remote app and iTunes 12

My iTunes library no longer appears in my remote app. I know it is not a Home Sharing issue because the library is linked to my Apple TV. However, it won't appear in my remote app on my iPhone 6 or my iPad Air. Hasn't worked since the update to iTunes 12.

I’ve been researching similar issues for the better part of a week. Bottom line: Cycling power (unplugged for 30 seconds+) on my Airport Extreme (not necessarily my Verizon FIOS broad and router) solved the problem for me.
Here are the issues I was trying to fix (similar to others on the board):
1) Airplay stopped working at some point in recent time. The icon disappeared from my iOS devices when they were in my home network
2) Apple Remote App for IOS stopped working on my iPhone 5 (IOS 8.1) and iPad Air (IOS 7)
As noted by others, my iTunes home sharing continued to work, and I was able to stream music, movies, etc. to my two Generation 2 Apple TVs
Over the last few days, I tried the following:
a) Cycling power on my ActionTec router
b) Upgrading my iPhone to iOS 8
c) Reseting my apple TVs
c) Restoring one of my gen 2 AppleTVs to factory original settings
d) Hard resets on my iOS devices (iPhone, iPad Air)
e) Uninstalling the Remote App from my iPhone and reinstalling it
f) Turning off Home Sharing, and turning it back on again
Most of the reports I found on this board while researching the issue correlated the above loss in functionality with the iOS 8+ upgrade and/or the recent upgrade to iTunes 12. That could be the case for many, but it was not the case for me. Whatever it was, the issue was resolved when (and only when) I cycled power on my Airport Extreme.
I had my airport extreme set to automatic updates, so I’m not sure if/when Apple pushed out an update in the recent pass that caused the functionality to be lost.

Remote app and last version

The newest update of Apple's Remote app requires iOS 7.1 but my iPhone 5 is on 7.0.x. However iTunes insists on installing the new version, even though it is incompatible, and it predictably crashes. I can download the last compatible version via the App Store app on the iPhone 5. But the next time I sync in iTunes it overwrites it with the incompatible version. I'd like to keep the newest version in iTunes because my iPad is on iOS 8.
What's the recommended course of action here?

The first part of your response helped a lot, thanks. (Though you meant 7.0.x version, not 7.1 v).
It's such a chore to have to avoid updating all apps. iTunes should allow apps to update (for devices on newer iOS versions) but never overwrite existing apps (already on a device) if the version of the newer app in iTunes is newer than the compatible version for that device.
Alternately it should allow you to either a) keep multiple versions of apps in iTunes and install them on appropriate target devices as you would install an iPhone and iPad only version of an app separately, or b) designate certain apps as excluded from further updates.
But dealing with reality, I do want the newer version on the iPad if possible. It's currently already installed there. The question I now have is, if you have to manually transfer purchases to get the copy of the app on the device back over to iTunes, if the iTunes version is now the older version, why would synching the iPad (with the newer version) transfer those purchases back to iTunes?
BTW, Apple's Podcasts app is also a culprit.

Connecting my iPhone using the remote app.

I am trying to connect my iPhone using the remote app, nothing seems to work. I have been told to go to Preferences > Devices and allow iTunes to search for iPhone ect but there isn't this option when I go there?

You do not have to dock your iPhone to use an iOS remote app to control your Mac.
There are both Wifi and Bluetooth style iOS remote apps for both iPhone/iPod and iPad.
Apple makes the one you are using. I believe that Apple's app can use both WiFi and Bluetooth.
I use a very exceptional Wifi remote app on iOS that is called Rowmote Pro.
This app has a really good feature set, plus you can control other aspects of your Mac with it.

There's nothing you can do to prevent this from happening. Even with an iPhone, although you can set a restrictions passcode preventing changes to account settings such as your iCloud settings, the phone can still be forced into recovery mode to restore it, thereby erasing your settings and disabling Find My iPhone.
Find My iPhone/Mac is really to help you find it if it is just misplaced or found by an honest person. It rarely if ever can be used to locate a stolen device. Your best defense is to set a passcode on the device so the theif can't gain access to your data, but instead has to erase the device in order to use it. TS1741 I have home sharing on both my computer and my iPad remote app. But the remote app no longer works.

My remote app. Use to work perfect. It quit working and now I get a blue screen telling me o turn on home sharing. I've done that on both my mc and iPad with no luck getting the remote and iTunes to pair. Any suggestions?
