Remote Application Command-Line Support Is Broken In New iOS Client!!!

Folks here went around and around with Microsoft trying to get them to implement support for the "remoteapplicationcmdline:s:" RDP file setting in all of the Microsoft Remote Desktop clients. Finally, sometime around version 8.0.5 Microsoft
successfully implemented the setting (in the Mac, iOS, and Android clients). It worked flawlessly in version 8.0.6, 8.0.7, and 8.0.8, but now Microsoft has once again broken support for the setting with their latest iOS Remote Desktop client (starting with
version 8.1.0 and going forward all the way up to the current version 8.1.4 release). It's always one step forward, and two steps backwards with Microsoft. Oy!
Hey Microsoft can you please re-implement support for the "remoteapplicationcmdline:s:" setting in the new iOS client??? PRETTY PLEASE!!!

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback, i will forward your concern to the product group.
Regards.

  • Command Line Support Not Working in OSD

    I am trying to deploy an image to a dell optiplex 760. I have added all of the storage and nic drivers from Dell's WINPE package, and then all of the drivers from the Intel site for the nic to my boot image. I then enabled command line support on the boot
    image,  after all of this I updated the boot image on my DP. When the SCCM splash screen comes up it says loading network, and then all dialog boxes disappears and the machine reboots. During this time when i press F8 nothing happens. I get no command
    prompt window, and it doesnt pause the reboot. Any Ideas?

    Sorry for my ignorance, when you say you installed every driver in there are you referring to adding them to the driver database or to your bootwim. Also if you cant grab the logs you might be able to get a report based on an unknown system, look in reporting
    under "History of a task sequence deployment on a computer" if there was anything recorded before it bombed out you might be able to get some info.
    Im still leaning towards a network driver though, can you snap an image of the drivers you have loaded into your preferred bootwim.

  • Application command line (PDF)

    I'm trying to launch another PDF-report by using application command line. I manage to create the report in to file but is there a way to launch it automatically "on the top" of the first report or on it's own window?
    This is what I have now on the application command line:
    C:\OraDS\bin\rwrun.exe c:\kkk\test userid=aki/aki@db destype=file desname=c:\temp\test.pdf desformat=pdf

    The way that I'd approach this would be to run the report through a URL to the reports server rather than a direct call to rwrun.
    In your command line you're telling reports to run the report to file (which it's doing correctly). If you run it via a URL then the reports server should stream the output back to the browser window, where it'll be read by Acrobat.
    Hope this helps,
    Danny

    We use a third party application (AppCenter) on our Motorola devices. It's a lock down tool that can present only specific application to the user, and can auto-launch the command line (<filename.lnk> in our scenario).

    On Windows
    "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe" -suppress  -remove product="Dreamweaver CS5" extension="Sample"

    shows up w/o actually removing the extension on Windows!
    Is this a known bug ? Any workaround to uninstalling an extension from command line on Windows ?

    I just found out how. Thanks!

    This connection string does not look correct to me:
    String pURL="opmn:ormi://localhost:12401:OC4J_TEST/";
    As you have it, you are specifying the OC4J RMI port to connect to, in conjunction with the ORMI lookup handler.
    The correct form for this string should be using the OPMN request port:
    String pURL="opmn:ormi://localhost:6003:OC4J_TEST/";
    The6003 value comes from the request port that OPMN is using on the target application server instance you need to connect to -- you can observe this port by looking at the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/opmn.xml file and look for this element:
    <port local="6101" remote="6202" request="6003"/>
    Use whatever port is specified there in your connect string.

  • Command-line support for encrypted images

    Hi,
    Is there any support in asr for performing restores using an encrypted image directly? I can't seem to find anything. It isn't much of a burden I guess to mount the image and then use it (now that I know that, anyway), but it seems like an oversight that asr can't just be given a password directly.
    Similarly for hdiutil, it has some support for encrypted images, but some things seem to be missing. At the very least you can't convert an encrypted image into an unencrypted image because convert doesn't understand that.
    Are these known issues? Are there plans to add this functionality? Or is it considered unnecessary since there's other ways around it?

    Sorry for my ignorance, when you say you installed every driver in there are you referring to adding them to the driver database or to your bootwim. Also if you cant grab the logs you might be able to get a report based on an unknown system, look in reporting
    under "History of a task sequence deployment on a computer" if there was anything recorded before it bombed out you might be able to get some info.
    Im still leaning towards a network driver though, can you snap an image of the drivers you have loaded into your preferred bootwim.

  • Command Line build - Embedded chm overwriting new chm

    Many of my projects reference material in other chm files. The "link to remote URL" copies the remote chm file(s) into the active project. If I then compile the active project, it also outputs those "copied in" chm files. This is expected behavior and works if the chm being imported is current.
    However, I am using a simple batch file to compile 40 projects sequentially into a single folder:
    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 9\RoboHTML
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\01Help\01Help.xpj -b
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\02Help\02Help.xpj -b
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\10Help\10Help.xpj -b
    etc....
    The problem is that if project 10 already contains 02.chm (from an earlier build), then the new 02.chm is overwritten by that older verson of 02.chm when project 10 compiles.
    If I compile each project and copy the chms to a single folder, when all new chms are present then it all works. The developers however, are looking to automate the build process.
    Is there a way to inhibit the "copied in" 02.chm chm being output from project 10, or re-import 02.chm (the new one) when project 10 compiles. Is it even possible to compile all the projects into a single folder?
    Regards
    Steve

    You can compile each project separately then copy that project's CHM to some target folder. Specifying all projects to build to a single folder will cause RoboHelp to output whatever baggage files it has in the last project built (without knowing the nitty-gritty of your setup). Explicitly copying specific files after they are compiled takes the job out of RoboHelp's hands.
    Essentially (guessing at your SSL):
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\01Help\01Help.xpj -b
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\02Help\02Help.xpj -b
    rhcl.exe S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\10Help\10Help.xpj -b
    xcopy S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\01Help\!SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help\01.chm //sometargetmachine/targetfoldername /d /y
    xcopy S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\02Help\!SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help\02.chm //sometargetmachine/targetfoldername /d /y
    xcopy S:\STHELP\SOURCE\en-US\RoboHelp\10Help\!SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help\10.chm //sometargetmachine/targetfoldername /d /y
    If you are just linking to external topics among your CHMs, then they don't even really need to be in the project when it is compiled. If the CHMs are merged then you could likely just alternate the compile and copy commands.
    Hope this helpful somewhat.

  • How do I install XCode on Lion with Command Line and UNIX development support?

    I installed Xcode via the App Store in Lion.  I try to install Macports, latest relase but get this error messagE:
    "Xcode is not installed, or was installed with UNIX Development (10.5+) or Command Line Support (10.4) deselected."
    I am not presented with an option for selecting or deselecting different parts of Xcode, does anyone know how I can make sure I have these above

    where would it have put the installer?  I goto /Developer/Applications and run Xcode and it says I have version 3.2.5(1760).  I looked in Downloads and didn't see an installer.

  • GUI Applications unable to use command line tools

    Hi All-
    I've searched, but I can't find a thread about this one, so...
    On OS 10.4.5:
    Whenever I use a GUI app that wants to use a command line tool (e.g. curl, df, java), the app fails giving an error message to the effect of "unable to find curl" or the like. It is as if the GUI cannot find my unix $PATH.
    Examples:
    -- Eclipse refuses to launch, because it appears to use "java xxxxxxx" to launch.
    -- Automator fails to run certain Safari actions because they use curl to navigate web pages.
    -- Carbon Copy Cloner fails to launch, because it can't find a tool (df, IIRC) to read drive/volume info
    Possibly relevant details:
    -- I can use the tool in question from the command line, so they are present, and in my $PATH, but the GUI can't find them.
    -- I recently moved from an old G4 to a relatively new G5, and had issues migrating files, so I eventually just copied my entire home directory from the old machine to the new, replacing the freshly created one on the new machine. I feel like that missed something that tells the GUI where your $PATH is, or some other link between GUI and command line.
    -- I created a new user, and that user does not experience the same troubles. This adds to my suspicion that it is account/PATH related.
    Any help anyone can give it greatly appreciated.

    Did you by any chance create an evironment.plist file? It is located in ~/.MacOSX/ If you don't know about it or don't know to look (.MacOSX is normally invisible), try this:
    In Finder.app, in the "Go" menu select "Go to Folder..." (shift-command-G), type ~/MacOSX in the text field and hit OK, the finder should then open a window or complain.
    If it opens a window and you find in it a file named environment.plist move that file to the desktop and try your applications. Do they work as advertized? Try again after logging in/out if things don't work. Do they work now?

  • Parsing in Weblogic/jsp doesn't work; application-mode (command-line) works

    Hello-
    Parsing my XML file in Weblogic/jsp doesn't work, whereas it works
    in application-mode... (albeit on two different machines)
    Here are the parameters:
    server1:
    weblogic 6.0
    win2k server
    jre1.3
    my personal machine:
    ***no weblogic***
    win2k server
    jre1.3
    When I run my code as an application (command-line style) on my machine,
    parsing in my xml file works fine, and I can do a root.toString() and it
    dumps out the entire xml file, as desired.
    However, running my code inside weblogic (on server1) in JSP, parsing in
    my file and doing a root.toString() results in the following: [dmui: null]
    (where dmui is my root)
    (even though i'm running it on two different machines, i'm positive its the
    same code (the servers share a mapped drive)...
    So, I think its probably because I'm using a different parser, as
    specified by weblogic? There are no exceptions being thrown. Here's my
    (abbreviated) code, which is called either command line style or in a JSP:
    // Imports
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXParseException;
    DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    mDocument = docBuilder.parse (inFile);
    myRoot.toString()
    -END
    Doing a System.getProperty("javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory")
    results in:
    server1 (weblogic/jsp):
    "weblogic.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"
    my machine (application-mode):
    null
    Does anyone have any ideas about how to get this work? Do I try to set it
    up so that they both use the same parser? Do I change the Weblogic parser?
    If so, to what? And how?
    Am I even close?
    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks, Clint

    Hi, Rob
    Does it work in WL9.2?
    It seems I do it exactly as the explained at http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/programming/classloading.html - and it fails :o(.
    I try to run my app.ear with WL9.2 There are 2 components in it: webapp and mdb. The webapp/WEB-INF contains weblogic.xml:
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <container-descriptor>
    <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
    </container-descriptor>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    Mdb is expected to run in the same mode, i.e. to prefer the webapp/WEB-INF/*.jar over the parent Weblogic classloader. To do so I add the weblogic-application.xml to the app.ear!/META-INF:
    <weblogic-application>
    <classloader-structure>
    <module-ref>
    <!-- reminder: this webapp contains
    prefer-web-inf-classes -->
    <module-uri>webapp</module-uri>
    </module-ref>
    <classloader-structure>
    <module-ref>
    <module-uri>mdb.jar</module-uri>
    </module-ref>
    </classloader-structure>
    </classloader-structure>
    </weblogic-application>
    Now, when classloader-structure specified, both webabb and mdb prefer the weblogic root loader as if prefer-web-inf-classes not defined at all.
