Remote codes and Onkyo TX-NR626
I just recently upgraded my AV receiver in my Family Room from an Onkyo HT-R530 to an Onkyo TX-NR 626 and connected it to the wired portion of my wired and the COAX portion of my built in LAN downstream of my connection to Comcast via a Cable Modem I purchased directly about 18 months ago. I had installed and have working instances of things like the Comcast "TV Remote" Android app. This app works to control all three of my TV's attached to cable boxes once they are turned on and should now let me use the DVR on a new box recently connected between the TV and the Onkyo TX-NR626 in my electronics cabinet in the family room. The origial Onkyo receiver probably "died" because I was never able to get a Comcast remote to shut it off. My other family members refuse/cannot seem to learn to use two remotes or even to exploit the wireless capability of an Android phone, so my only option seems to be to get the Onkyo receiver in my Family Room working with the Comcast remote that lives there so that all the TV's in the house work the same way!. That said, I tried the codes that came with the remote. One of them did not work at all. The other for a little while did shut the receiver off but did nothing else. The remote for the Onkyo has a lot of options that may provide a "single remote" solution unique to my family room, but it is not consistent with the way things work in other rooms in my house and therefore NOT acceptable. Is there anyone who has a similar problem, or recommendations about an approach other than the canned response "get a universal remote and program it" that Comcast tech folks generally fall back on? Can anyone help me understand why temporarily reprogramming the Onkyo system to accept an alternative set of codes and then setting it back to the default set has destroyed its' ability to recognize either of the published codes for Onkyo on the paper that came with my Comcast remote, or for the "unknown AUX device" procedure to identify a connection with the Onkyo that allows me to use the "Volume" and the "All On" buttons on the Comcast remote to control the Onkyo TX-NR 626 as an "AUX" device providing sound and picture via its HDMI hub? This Onkyo is 2012-3 "state of the art" electronics. It provides me with a Bluetooth based "remote" app that lets me control it from my wireless phone and do things like push a "NET" input election that activates my Pandora subscritpion via Ethernet with no other devices other than my cable modem and router and the TX-NR 626 involved. I currently have it wired to receive its' input from the Comcast Cable Box/DVR device via HDMI when it is set to "CABLE/SATELITE" on its' bank of inputs, and I have my Samsung 56" TV/Monitor hooked to its' primar HDMI standard output. The TV has some switching that might allow a different connection sequence. HDMI from the Cable box to the TV device and connection of the TV based switching to the Onkyo, but I think this is a less flexible option, and it does not really change the fact that I need to be able to turn the sound system on and off and change the volume from a Comcast remote. Are people willing to wade into this problem and help me sort out the details? I'm followng this thread on my computer and my phone...
I was able to get the TX-NR626 to go into "standby" mode if it gets left turned on and have discovered that by default when the "source" is CBL/SAT... it will turn itself on from standby when the Comcast remote turns on the DVR and the TV... Unfortunately, I still need TWO remotes because I cannot get the AUX button on the Comcast Remote to be recognized by the TX-NR626 in a way that lets it control its own volume. I'm wondering if I should "start over" and wire things differently? I have the option of wiring the cable box directly to the TV, and then wiring the TV to the Onkyo but then I'll need an extra HDMI back to the TV from the Onkyo so I can select its' output when CBL/SAT is not an active source for the Onkyo. The advantage of doing it the way I have it now is that anything coming into the Onkly that has media content to display will automatically display on the TV. The other way, I have to switch "sources" via the TV's menu once again defeating the purpose of trying to use the Comcast Remote for the main purpose, sound and picture from the Comcast DVR....

XR 11 remote codes for Onkyo reciever
I have programmed my XR 11 voice remote with my TV and it works fine. However, the two codes listed in the instructions to rogram my Onkyo TX-SR-705 reciever to do not work. I get the 2 green flashes from the LED on the remote that indicate the code was entered correctly, but I am unable to turn the reciever on or off with the SR 11. I have a Onkyo TX-607 A/V receiver. I have tried all the codes listed and none of them funcion fully. Several of the codes will allow the remote to turn the receiver off and adjust the volume, but none of them will allow me to turn the receiver ON. Anyone have a code that works with this receiver?
Hey here are the codes we have for the Onkyo receiver: 0162, 0869, 1325, 1347, 1558, 3628, 3650, 3653, 3660, 3666, 3669, 3687, 3693, 3697, 3705, 3707, 3710, 3711, 3719, 3753 so if none of these codes does not work your best bet would be to contact the Onkyo manufacturer for code operate the model that you have.

Sample JAVA Mobile Server Publish code, and technical questions
Dear Oracle technical representative, or user:
I need to programmatically create, and remove publications using the pure JAVA classes of Consolidator, ConsolidatorManager, and ResourceManager for the Mobile Server in OracleLite 9i Release 5.0.1. On the creation side I have managed to get the example found in the directory OraLite501\Mobile\Server\Sample\Sample11 functioning using my installation parameters. I had a very difficult time of it because (1) the sample11 code fails to open an jdbc connection to the Mobile Server Repository Schema with the function Consolidator.OpenConnection, and (2) the ResourceManager function openConnection will not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory. The ConsolidatorManager function OpenConnection may also not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory, but I did test the hypothesis. Both of these problems need to be addressed in the sample11 code, and documentation to save other software developers from wasting hours of their valuable time. See line 223, 386, and 448 in the Publish.Java code that follows this problem description.
With the above two problems resolved, I can now programmatically create publications, but no hints on how to programmatically remove a publication exist in the documentation. The application I am developing will require the dynamic creation, and removal of publications. Also, when developing applications the complete removal of a publication is absolutely necessary when you have botched a publication. Thus my first question is What sequence of ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager function calls will completely remove a Publication?.
I also have two issues remaining with the code that I have so far developed. These issues will most likely be resolved, when I obtain instructions on how to completely remove a publication, and associated users. But, perhaps not. Referencing the Publish.java file that follows this problem description,
1. The ResourceManager function dropUser does not drop a user. See my comments, and code beginning at line 277 in Publish.java. Do I need to de-instantiate all subscriptions, and unsubscribe all subscription users before calling this function.? I think, I tried the de-instantiate, unsubscribe sequence without success, but in the confusion I may not have made the try.
2. How do I get rid of an index created with the ConsolidatorManager function DropPublicationItemIndex?. My comments on this problem begin at line 522 in Publish.java. For some reason the DropPublicationItemIndex function call made below line 448 does not work. What function calls are required prior to calling the DropPublicationItemIndex function?
Throughout the Publish.java code, I have made comments about some of the problems that I have had in getting the sample11 code working for my installation parameters. I think these comments should help the programmers maintaining the ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager code improve the stability of the programs. Please pass these comments, and attached files to the appropriate individuals,
if you are in a position to do so.
The other files that follow the Publish.java code are
1. Compile.bat - Compiles Publish.java using j2sdk1.4.0.
2. Run.bat - Executes Publish using \ j2sdk1.4.0\jre\server\jvm.dll.
3. Webtogo.ora

I need to programmatically create, and remove publications using the pure JAVA classes of Consolidator, ConsolidatorManager, and ResourceManager for the Mobile Server in OracleLite 9i Release 5.0.1. On the creation side I have managed to get the example found in the directory OraLite501\Mobile\Server\Sample\Sample11 functioning using my installation parameters. I had a very difficult time of it because (1) the sample11 code fails to open an jdbc connection to the Mobile Server Repository Schema with the function Consolidator.OpenConnection, and (2) the ResourceManager function openConnection will not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory. The ConsolidatorManager function OpenConnection may also not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory, but I did test the hypothesis. Both of these problems need to be addressed in the sample11 code, and documentation to save other software developers from wasting hours of their valuable time. See line 223, 386, and 448 in the Publish.Java code that follows this problem description.
With the above two problems resolved, I can now programmatically create publications, but no hints on how to programmatically remove a publication exist in the documentation. The application I am developing will require the dynamic creation, and removal of publications. Also, when developing applications the complete removal of a publication is absolutely necessary when you have botched a publication. Thus my first question is What sequence of ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager function calls will completely remove a Publication?.
I also have two issues remaining with the code that I have so far developed. These issues will most likely be resolved, when I obtain instructions on how to completely remove a publication, and associated users. But, perhaps not. Referencing the Publish.java file that follows this problem description,
1. The ResourceManager function dropUser does not drop a user. See my comments, and code beginning at line 277 in Publish.java. Do I need to de-instantiate all subscriptions, and unsubscribe all subscription users before calling this function.? I think, I tried the de-instantiate, unsubscribe sequence without success, but in the confusion I may not have made the try.
2. How do I get rid of an index created with the ConsolidatorManager function DropPublicationItemIndex?. My comments on this problem begin at line 522 in Publish.java. For some reason the DropPublicationItemIndex function call made below line 448 does not work. What function calls are required prior to calling the DropPublicationItemIndex function?
Throughout the Publish.java code, I have made comments about some of the problems that I have had in getting the sample11 code working for my installation parameters. I think these comments should help the programmers maintaining the ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager code improve the stability of the programs. Please pass these comments, and attached files to the appropriate individuals,
if you are in a position to do so.
The other files that follow the Publish.java code are
1. Compile.bat - Compiles Publish.java using j2sdk1.4.0.
2. Run.bat - Executes Publish using \ j2sdk1.4.0\jre\server\jvm.dll.
3. Webtogo.ora
4. tnsnames.ora for the Mobile Server.
5. tnsnames.ora for the Database.

All seemed to be going well until - the updates.
Now my iphone will not recognize my itunes libraries. I deleted the library link from the iPhone remote app and even told itunes to forget all remotes. Back to my iphone to set up as a remote - again. The iphone generates the 4 digit code, itunes even recognizes the iphone, allows me to enter the code, and returns the screen that I can now start using the iphone as a remote. --- Back to the iphone - and the remote app can "find the library" - What gives? Help

I have deleted the application "Remote" from the iPhone, and I have re-installed it. Each time the application will work for a limited time, and then it loses the ability to locate the library.
I continue to suspect IP addresses as the source of the problem, and wonder if the addresses must be static on both devices in order for them to maintain a connection. However, I find it odd that iTunes can register the presence of the iPhone enough to list it in the "devices" pane (therefore, I assume that the two devices are communicating over my network) but then the iPhone fails to locate the iTunes library.
Other applications (Briefcase Lite, for example) seem to be able to conduct over-the-network business without difficulty. -
BT Vision black remote control and Bush LC-39GL12F...
I have a BT Vision+ box with a black BT Vision remote control.
I have a Bush LC-39GL12F TV
I'm trying to control the abovementioned TV with the abovementioned remote.
I have tried following both the instructions in the BT Vision User Guide which came supplied with the box, and the information on the following webpage:

The latter instructs me to obtain a 4-digit code from the following page:

For the "Bush" make of TV, 55 different codes are listed.
The instructions say "If there's more than one code listed for your TV, you'll have to use trial and error until you get the right code."
55 trials and 55 errors later it emerges that not a single one of these codes appears to work.
Note the the blue light on the remote flashes 3 times after every single one of these codes are entered, but none of them work.
Does anyone have a code that does actually work, or am I missing something obvious?If you have purchased This Tv Bush LC39GL12F from Argos, there is not a code available and Argos do not forsee a code being available in the near future. I was advised to call Argos Customer service on 0845 6403030 to log a complaint as to no code and eventually a code maybe made available. Why won't SKY come up with remote codes for Seiki tv's especially when charging a fortune for SKY
I wish someone could tell me why no remote codes are not available for Seiki tv's instead of coming up with excuses.
Like all new kit, it takes time for the codes to be shared and then programmed into remotes.The Sky Remote has a database of known television codes.Each TV has a group of codes to control the different functions of the TV.Sky develops sets of codes for each TV manufactured and then applies its own code to the control set.The Sky code is what you need to program the Sky remote so that it uses the control set for the selected TV. Each Sky remote is programmed with updated code databases when it is manufactured and to keep track of what remote does what, it is given a Rev number found inside the battery bay of the remote. In the case of Seiki, the code set was not incorporated by Sky until Rev 10.Anything earlier will not work unless by sheer chance it matches the code set of another TV.

Execute command on remote linux and return output?

I'm new to Java and still working hard on my way thru.
I used a client software "putty" to logon to a linux machine. as the window is exactly like what it is in linux. in "/proc" I typed in "grep cpu stat" which returned 2 lines result of the cpu status on the screen.
now, I have to do the same thing in Java. To execute a line of command "grep cpu stat" on the remote linux. then return the 2 lines result to my code and store them in string variebles. Can anyone please help me with this and show me some sample code of doing this Please.

Need help sending dialog to remote computer and saving results
As the title states, what I want to do is send a dialog box to all remote computers listed in the array $compnames where I can receive a yes or no and either save this as a file or array to pass back to my local computer to shutdown the ones where either
a yes or no answer is received. I have the following code segment and I am missing the no answer received part and I am not sure how to receive the responses form each computer.

In accordance with what this first two commenters have posted. I am thinking of a quirky solution.
What if I have a script on the remote computer that I call with the Invoke-Command that opens a message box and then depending on the response uses the msg.exe cmdlet to send either a 1 or a 0 back. The host computer then takes these answers and creates
two arrays, one for yeses and one for nos. I guess the only issue with this would be is receiving the messages in an orderly manner over the course of 30seconds and having the messages be 'silent' so the script picks them up but there is no explicit message
pop up on my computer.
I have found the following from the invoke-command section of ss64.com:
"Run the Test.ps1 script on the Server64 computer. The script is located on the local computer. The script runs on the remote computer and the results are returned to the local computer:PS C:\> invoke-command -filepath c:\scripts\test.ps1 -computerName
Server64"
So could I not send a message box through this and have the result returned to me?Actually, it might be doable (albeit not all that ... cleanly):
Create a task on the remote computer that will run under any currently logged in user which displays a messagebox that returns values and writes the result to a file. (Which will of course require a folder where all users have write permissions to to write
the files in)
Trigger the task
Check for result files

I am a fairly new/inexperienced DW CS4 user - but I have checked tutorials/FAQs, and other discussions B4 asking this:
One previous poster had the same issue - I am trying to edit a file, and I get the above showing in the bar above the design window. However, I have tried both remote and local files - cannot edit either. On a previous post there was an answer regarding changing the link ref to not include the URL. However, my properties box is not highlighted to be able to change anything - where would I change the link ref (maybe explain this a little differently so that I understand)? I am just trying to edit a drop down box menu (I inherited this website as part of an administrative job for a charity).

Can you open any of the files to this website so you can look into the code and see how the menu was created? By looking at the code you should be able to identify what file/s the menu uses.
You would then open that file/s and edit the menu.
As this appears to be a php site my guess is that the menu is an 'include' file which means there is a file in your site folder which when opened will just show the bare-bones of the menu. This file would then be included in all pages which have the menu present. which should be all. -

I'm having an issue on the last two site files I have opened and it driving my crazy. I'm getting the yellow hilighted warning message. I open a file and where it states Source Code I get a numbers for example: 876948422.js then in the yellow highlighted it states: 876948422.js is a remote file and cannot be edited. [close] and this close looks like a clickable link.
I seen this on the first file last Friday and I freaked out because I have heard of bandits stealing traffic and comissions from affiliates and I though someone hi-jacked my page and was stealing my stuff because I have gotten zero results from all my sites with this style email Opin page while Google tracking software has been showing atleast a little activity on these sites.
So every web site that used that email Opin page I completely deleted. I even deleted them from my testing server on my local machine. I don't know if there is any software out there that can clean my machine of this kind of intruduer if that is what it is.
Now I just opened another file which I took into Dreamweaver. I copied all the code and did a paste and this file has the js file as well. What is going on here..... help!!!
