Remote comparison between systems on a table

Hi All,
I would like to do similar thing I can see in the program version control remote comparison, but for tables contents. I found an RFC "TABLE_ENTRIES_GET_VIA_RFC" which can be used for this. Nevertheless, do you have any other suggestions which do not use logon procedure if it's not necessary(like in the program version control)? Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Gyula

Gyula,
I believe it is all controlled in SM59 where you can set the login id and password as trusted. Whe you call this function module remotely from your program, the logical destination system set in SM59 probably not set as trusted.

  • Billing master data - Comparison between systems.

    Hi Gurus:
    We need to compare billing master data between DEV, QAS and PRD to see the differences, since we must normalize the 3 ambients before starting a high impact project in our rates.
    ¿There is any standard functionality that allows me to make this comparison?.
    If not so, was thinking of a customer program (Z) to directly compare the table entries: ESCHS, EKDI, ETRF, TE221, ETTAF, ETTA, ERTFND, TE069, EPREI, etc.
    Comments and suggestions are welcome.
    Regards,

    When I need to compare my Billing tables, I have my Basis guys run SCMP (table compare) and provide them the tables names to use. They have the option to give you only the differences which is nice since that is what I am usually looking for.
    Good Luck!

  • How to add Target System to Remote Comparison in Version Management

    Hello,
    We have defined an RFC connection from System A to system B. We want to use system B for remote comparison or programs from system A. However, when we choose (from SE38):
    Utilities -> Version Management -> REMOTE Comparison -> Target System
    system B does not appear in the list.
    How can we add system B to this list?
    Thanks and Regards.
    Reena

    go to the object which u want to compare
    go to->version management->select the TR request no->and select remote comparision there->and give the system where u need to compare this object

  • How to Synch Tables between systems

    Hi,
         I have a 1 field DDIC Table on my R3 System and the same table definition resides on my BW System.  I would like to transfer the contents of my R3 Table over to my BW Table.
    Can someone tell me the best way to do this?  I am guessing I could write a Remote Enabled function module to do this?  Can anyone help get me started on this?
    Thanks!

    No, sorry. I only used I-Docs once to move Classification Master Data between systems. I know that's what's I-Docs are for, but your requirement seems to be a little more 'specific' rather than 'standard SAP I-Doc'. I also know that you can come up with your custom I-Docs, but never did that.
    Try a search on I-Docs and you'll find more information.
    Don't you have any BW tool or cube or something that can retrieve the info from R/3? I'm not very familiar with BW, but I know that's how it works... and also by calling RFC functions on the R/3 side, which in some cases needs to be developed.
    Cheers,
    Andres.

  • SLD Communication between Remote ABAP & JAVA system through WebDispatcher

    Hi All,
    We are having the listed requirement at one of my Client.
    We want to register Remote ABAP system into Remote SLD of JAVA system. Both SAP systems are located in different regions.The SLD is local to the remote JAVA system. The ultimate objective is to create JCO Destinations in Remote JAVA system using the Entries of its Local SLD and to run some WebDynpro Application to access Data from Remote ABAP system.
    We have already setup the above mentioned same scenario between Remote ABAP Dev and Remote Poratl DEV systems with the help of their Direct Live IP communciation. The setup is working fine, as both systems are accessing each other using Direct Live IPs in both directions on ports 3200, 3300, 50000....
    But in Portal PRD scenario, the Cleint's Enterprise Portal is accessed through SAP Webdispatcher. The User Access Request of PRD Portal is first captured at SAP Webdispatcher and then the requrest is redirected to the J2ee Application Servers based on Load balancing. So in this PRD scenario, how we can establish such SLD communication setup between Remote ABAP and JAVA systems in both directions via SAP WebDispatcher.
    One of the option may be to use SAP Gateway of Portal Development, whcih is accessed through Live IP and register Remote ABAP system to Poral PRD system (by maintaining SLD entriy in SLDAPICUST T-code). I don't know weather such communication will work or not ..as it may require SLD Bridge configuration from Portal DEV to Portal PRD... may be... and may be to enable some portal communcaitons on Ports 3300, 50000 (Java Side), 3200, (ABAP side) ...
    Or
    at SAP Webdispather host (which is accessed first for Portal PRD requests..), the Standalone gateway needs to be setup to establish such SLD communication ?
    I am confused abt the final setup of the above mentioned SLD setup. So requesting you to provide possible options/suggestions for the same.
    Regards,
    Bhavik G. Shroff

    Hi,
    I would suggest you to install standalone gateway between portal and your PRD system. Register portal host and gateway in the SLD and same enter in RZ70 on your PRD system. As a result both will be able to communicate with each other.
    Thanks

  • Difference between system copy and Remote Client copy?

    Hi,
    Can any body suggest me , What are the major difference between System copy and Remote Client Copy.
    As per my knowledge , Both are different
    1.In system copy  entire data recovered mean copy from Source to target
    2.In Remote client copy All  Client data can't me import if you choose SAP_ALL profile also
          I hope Transaction data and user data can't copied
    Anybody share this Question and Give me some idea about this
    If anybody  give brief explanation that is very gratefull.
    regards,
    Balaram

    Hi,
    System copy will replicate all database from source to target system.
    In remote copy only client in which you are performing the copy will get refresh. Also, remote client copy will be done between systems on same patch level. with SAP_ALL profile you can bring all data in target system including your transactional data.
    Thanks

  • SAP Synchronization between systems - Tools

    Hi All,
    Currently the company am working for - Coca Cola Hellenic is looking for a tools for systems comparison. As we are serving about 20 countries and have just spitted our core SAP platforms in to clusters - separating 11 countries on one platform in terms of SAP, CRM and etc. and  the rest on another one. We have called them Clusters 1 and 2.
    As we need to ensure consistency between systems, we are looking for a tool to help us synchronize the productive environments. By synchronizing we mean comparison of tables, code, packages, versions, manual productive changes and etc.
    I would very much appreciate if you have some suggestions in terms of relevant tools currently on the market.
    Thanks.

    The tables/code/packages/versions should all flow through the Central Transport System across environments and systems.
    i.e. DEV --> QA --> STG --> PROD

  • Remote Desktop Monitoring System

    I am having some porblem regarding my project on Remote Desktop Monitoring System.
    The project is supposed to have the following features:
    1.Monitor and Control the computer in a network
    2.Send Instant Message
    3.File Transfer
    We are having porblem on Networking ,Please supply us with the code or description on how to connect computers using Java so we can check on ours....

    Remote Desktop Monitoring System is supposed to be a fully java based project. As the name suggests, the project should be able to view the computers(active screens) on the network and perform some specified tasks.
    It also should have features like Instant messaging and File transferring between the connected computers.
    (It is similar to the available software in Windows XP which helps us to monitor and contorl othe computers in the network)
    -In order to connect to each other, the computer should have Remote
    Desktop Monitoring Systems Server software or Client software installed in it.
    -The main objective of this project is to build that Server and Client software with which we can perform the specified tasks.
    -We are using NetBeans to develop the project and MySQL to handle some user datas.
    -We have finished the Front End forms for the project and are finding difficulties in networking using java.(since we are students new to java)
    I hope the above explanation clears some queries about the project.If anything is not clear please post on this forum and help us.
    So if anybody has similar type of project or and concept regarding how to create the Client and Server side software as mentioned above please help us.

  • Connecting to remote R/3 system

    Hello everyone!
    I need information about connecting to remote R/3 systems. What I am looking for is something like what SAP does to trouble shoot client R/3 systems.
    I have heard that SAP connects remotely to the SAP R/3 system using the SAP Connector to help rectify problems in the remote system. Is something possible for me to use for a client's remote R/3 system? We are also an SAP Software Partner (PBNW) so in case any SAP guy is looking at this, can you please tell me what we can do?
    The rough requirement is to have a remote connection to the client's SAP R/3 system in order to be able to extract particular configuration data and such among other things. We have our own software for the extraction but we need special connectors to connect to remote systems. Is the SAP Connector a valid solution in this case?
    Thanks for looking into it!
    Sameer

    If you want a thorough analysis of your system you can set up a Remote Service connection. To avoid any unauthorized access to your system, you first need to a open a connection for Remote Service. Only then can SAP log on to your system.
    For more detailed information on setting up a Remote Service connection, see the guide The SAPNet - R/3 Frontend User Guide. You can download this guide from the following address: http://sapnet.sap.com/oss-guide .
    Ready-to-Run R/3 contains a service and equipment package for setting up a remote service functionality between your R/3 Systems and the SAP service organization. The package contains hardware and software for routing and the organizational services required for setting up a remote service connection.
    If you have problems using your R/3 System, or you require help, you can use SAP remote services. The TCP/IP connection between your systems and SAP is controlled by the router in the remote access package. One of the main functions of the router in setting up a remote service connection is the translation of private addresses (as defined in RFC 1918) to official external IP addresses, which are delivered with your remote access package.

  • To Identify Relationship between records in a table

    Hi
    I need to write a query to identify what relationship exists between records in a table.
    For example,In our system a manager can have more than 1 subordinate as well as an employee can also have more than 1 manager.
    I need to provide the relationship for a given set of employee-ids whether it is
    1 is to 1,
    1 is to many,
    many is to 1,
    many to many.
    Employee     Relationship     Relationship Description
    John     1 is to M     Implies John is reporting to multiple managers who have only one subordinate
    Stuart     1 is to 1     Implies Stuart is reporting to only one manager who has only one subordinate
    Robert     M is to 1     Implies Robert is reporting to only one manager who has multiple subordinates
    Martha     M is to M     Implies Martha is reporting to multiple managers who have multiple subordinates
    Can you please help me with this query?
    Regards
    Kapil

    To make things simple lets assume the following table structure and data
    CREATE TABLE EMP
    ENAME VARCHAR2(10),
    MNAME VARCHAR2(10)
    Data for M:1 Relationship
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('John','Linda');
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Robert','Linda');
    Data for 1:M Relationship
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Peter','Stuart');
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Peter','Linda');
    Data for 1:1 Relationship
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Mary','Tim');
    Data for M:M Relationship
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Chris','Roger');
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Tom','Roger');
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Stephen','Roger');
    INSERT INTO EMP VALUES ('Stephen','Zoe');
    Now if I search for Chris and Mary I should get the result as:-
    Chris M:M
    Mary 1:1
    Hope this clarifies ;-)

  • Comparison Refresh System

    Hello experts,
    I'd like to know what the best solution for refreshing systems between Data Sync Manager from Epiuse (DSM) and Landscape Virtualization Management from SAP (LVM).
    I've already read a lot of papers about both solutions like this one:
    Comparisons between SAP TDMS vs. 3rd Party Data transfer tools
    Of course I also took a look to a lot of papers talking about how great both are.
    What I want is feedback from people who could use these solutions for data copy, their pros and cons, especially cons.
    I know that the greatest point of DSM is that it can slice data by time or objects to make the target system lighter than the source, and LVM can do also copy and post copy automation (PCA) with a bundle for a better system administration. Both can also do data scrambling, even if for LVM we have to use another solution like SAP TDMS. Both support the most important old and recent SAP application releases (ERP, SRM, CRM, GTS, BW,SCM, NW).
    So please, give me some points that could make me decide what's the best one.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Alex.
    P.S.: if you want to talk about other solutions than SAP LVM and Epiuse DSM, please do, it could help others.

    Here is an interesting discussion on TDMS vs DSM:
    SAP TDMS - comparison with Data Sync Manager
    So now the comparison would be TDMS vs LVM vs DSM.

  • Comparison between cFP and cDAQ

    Hi,
    I'm looking for (as much details as possible) a comparisons between compact Fieldpoint and compact DAQ hardware.  I'm trying to decide which hardware platforms to use.
    TIA

    Compact Fieldpoint is for installed, industrial type applications.  It has a realtime operating system.  The controller runs code to read inputs and operate outputs.  The application can be distributed on an ethernet network.  There are different modules available for different types of inputs and ouputs.
    Compact DAQ also has numerous input and output modules.  It is more intended for portable applications.  It connects to your PC through a USB port.  So the code would need to run on the PC

    Windows on Intel Macs
    There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
    Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
    You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
