Remote Connection via WAN not an option

Recently I was gifted a TC from my uncle, who also purchased one. I set mine up and am simply utilizing the built in 500gb hard drive for storage, until I can purchase a TB external drive. He has a TB connected to his TC. We are running 7.4.1 firmware, and the AirPort Utility. I was able to open AirPort Utility and check the box for sharing the disks via WAN and can access the TC from any outside network. However, when we attempt to set up the WAN under the Disks/File Sharing tab, it only gives me the option to: "Share disks over the Internet using Bonjour." Does anyone have any ideas why we don't even have the option of selecting WAN?

SCCM 2012: remotely connect via powershelll: no psdrive

I'd like to connect via powershell to a remote sccm-server.
What I did:
Run powershell x86
enter-PSSession -ComputerName sccm2012 -ConfigurationName Microsoft.PowerShell32
Set execution policy to unrestricted
Import-Module ‘c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Configuration Manager\AdminConsole\bin\ConfigurationManager.psd1’
Get-psdrive to see connections (in order to change to sitecode via cd sitecode)
but the site does not appear (connected remotely also via sccm 2012 console and launched "connect via powershell").
Please advise.

You need some reg keys for this to work. Those reg keys are normally created by the console when you start it.

BlueTooth connects via HotSynch, not other means PALM TX

I am at my wit's end here. Really. I'm about to toss my Palm, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Here's my setup:
1. PALM T|X - less than a month old.
2. Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, running Windows XP Home SP2, 2gb of memory, Centrino technology.
3. USB Bluetooth Adapter 2.0
Here's my problem:
1. I can connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in order to HotSynch. I did this by following the on-screen instructions on my Palm device.
2. I cannot connect, via Bluetooth, to my laptop in any other fashion, despite following all of the on-screen instructions. So, when I attempt to go on the Network Service, click on the Connect button,my computer says "Bluetooth Connection Successful. Bluetooth device _ is connected to 'HotSych' service on this computer. Com 11."
The service connection progress never moves beyond that on the Palm device. I always get the following error:
Error: PPP timeout (0x1231)
My connection type is PPP
My idle timeout is 3 minutes, but even if I click "Never" it doesn't connect me.
Query DNS is checked
IP Address is automatic is checked.
Is there PLEASE someone who can help me figure this out? I'd greatly appreciate it.

What version of Palm Desktop do you have installed?
What errors are you getting? Can you post your HotSync log?

Remote connection via http connection-URL access

Hello all,
I would like to connect to the customer Business object system from our solution manager. The customer has configured http connection and has opened the connection in marketplace and has maintained http connection-URL access. The URL has also been maintained.
I have added the corresponding entry also in my hosts file. But i am not able to access the customer URL.
Anyone please tell me how to do remote connection for the connection type "http connection - URL access".

Remote Desktop Connection Solution, VPC NOT an option

I downloaded Remote Desktop Connection yesterday B/C I wanted to be able to do work on my mac, I have virtual PC with WINXP but it was way to slooow.
I do not want to play games, I play games on my compaq laptop that's in a full sized docking station.
So I was looking and reading at this software (RDC) and it sounded like a viable option, My laptop has a 14" monitor but the iMac is a 17".
so I downloaded it and set it up, BTW my connection is iMac to Laptop docking station I used a "Crossover Cable".
Set the IP address and I have (Sorry to say) windows on my MAC for nuthing!
It works great ALOT faster than VPC (since it does not have to emulate a Intel CPU).
And the Laptop monitor goes to sleep after 1 minute so now I can have the best of both worlds!

WLC & Remote AP via WAN link

During centralized WLC 7500 controller connectivity with branch office AP , can we use the public IP address in WLC management , in case we are not having VPN connectivity between Remote to branch location & only had a internet in both end . Will my remote end AP associate with the centralized WLC controller via public IP ( not a private local IP ) or VPN / MPLS solution is must for communication between WLC & Remote AP.

You can configure OfficeExtend on those AP's. You would enable NAT address on the management and put your public address there. Then you would open udp 5246 and udp 5247 from the public side to the WLC management. Then enable data encryption on the AP after it joins. The AP can be in local FlexConnect mode. HT202157 My Apple TV will not update and it is connected via ether not wireless

I have an earlier version Apple TV and I have tried to update it several times using several methods. I am connected to the internet via ether and not wireless and teh signal is good. I can stream without any issues ever. the update is downloaded fine but not installed. I get a failure to update message. I have tried to updat normally, restore, reset, etc...... I have no more ideas.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

Connects via VGA, not DVI

I'm having a bit of a display problem with my Mac mini. The problem is that any digital connection from the mini via DVI cable doesn't seem to work. Right now I have an old crt monitor hooked up with the DVI to VGA adapter and any monitor seems to work this way. I have a DVI to DVI, and DVI to HDMI cable that's always worked before with the TV's and my regular Acer monitor. One night I was on Facebook, youtube, blah blah blah. Not doing anything out of the ordinary like installing programs or applying updates. The next time I try to use my Mac and the monitor says "no signal". I plugged the computer in the tv and it was saying the same thing. That's when I took the old crt monitor with the adapter and plugged it in which that works flawlessly. I tried repairing permissions, doing the intel SMC reset, and other basic troubleshooting steps.
This doesn't apply to the display issue, but withen the past year I've had components like the airport and, Superdrive fail spontaneously on separate accounts. I have those things somewhat fixed via an external DVD burner and an ethernet wire. I don't know if that has to do with the logic board of some sort, but perhaps that can help ya guys.
What steps would you sugest next?

Alright. I get what your saying. I figured something like that happened, but I was kinda hoping it was a software issue since the Mac wasn't moved, budged, or handled in any way. I know most of the troubleshooting steps on a mac and a whole bunch on a PC considering that's what I fix on a daily basis. I don't do a whole lot of logic board work so I guess I'll have to live with the vga connection which I can live with. I'll have to find a decent LCD screen somewhere that supports vga so I don't have to keep this clunky crt on my desktop.
I finally decided to use the time machine feature and this is gonna do awesome. I bought a 1 TB drive to plug in through the usb port and it's working wonderfully. I know how ironic it is to have someone that repairs computers and not keep a back up.

Powershell remote connect to DPM not working

Hello all,
Using System Center DPM 2012 R2.
Trying to start with automation in SMA using our DPM servers. Tried to use the sample script
"Sample-Managing-DataProtectionManager", this is a simple script with a connect-DPMServer statement. When executing keep getting the error "Connect-DPMServer Unable to connect .. ID: 948". Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer.
Pretty sure that DPM services are running. Using an account with domain admin rights and full access to the DPM server (local admin) and SQL Server instance (sysadmin) hosting the
DPM db's. And firewalls allow access (tried with firewalls off).
When I try to connect to one of the DPM servers from a remote DPM Management shell all works fine. When I try to simulate the inlinescript (used by SMA) with an invoke-command
from a remote
host I get the same error. Tried starting PowerShell as administrator, but still no luck. Tested if the invoke-command was running as administrator and elevated, this is the case.
I get the feeling that I am missing something :-). Anyone any luck with using dpm from sma or using powershell from a remote host to connect to a DPM server and can help me?

Finally got it working, but not that easy. SMA is using workflow and you can't use New-PSSession in a workflow. You need to use inlinescript then. And then you have to workout how to use your variables.

Remote Setup via WAN

I have a wireless network using an AEBS (2009) with 2 AX set up to "Extend a wireless network". Logging onto the AEBS remotely is pretty straightforward: File>Configure Other...> enter the IP and password and I'm good. However I'm not sure how to access the AX units remotely. Is there a procedure for entering their assigned IPs along with the AEBS IP initially or do they have to be set up in Port Forwarding?
I'm pretty new at this but I know that any changes involving passwords need to be done on the AX units first or else they won't appear in AU.

Rtmp vs. rtmpt - FMLE 3 only can connect via rtmpt not rtmp

I'm trying to stream live video to our FMIS 3.5 using FMLE 3 and the only way it will work and connect is if the FMS URL parameter uses "RTMPT://" not "RTMP://". Question is this a configuration problem with the FMIS? If so, how can I correct it.
Or is network/firewall preventing it from working? If so what does are net admins need to allow to make this work?
Can I get away with using the RTMPT protocol for streaming live high action video (basketball game) or do I need to use RTMP protocol to be successful?
I'm just getting started with Flash Media coming from WIndows Media.

Are you sure that there is no modification done at FMS end. How are you concluding that other clients are still able to play, i suppose looking at access.00.log, do you see particular client playing a stream for sometime and new client connecting and playing stream. Can you try from any other machine if you access to? I should say it looks like strange issue , but if you can provide above asked info, probably we might be able to nail it down.

Partitioned EHD connected via TC - Not recognizing both partitions

I have an external hard drive (EHD) that has 2 partitions on it. It's a complete image of an old PC of mine whose power supply broke, so the 2 partitions are as follows: (01) Personal Data (PC's C drive, basically) and (02) the "Recovery" partition, for system restore.
When I connect this EHD to my MacBook directly, it recognizes both partitions and I can access all files perfectly.
However, when I connect the EHD to my Time Capsule, I can only see the Recovery partition on the external drive. Is there any way I can fix this? (Or change it to recognize only the other partition?)

Is the format of the partition that won't mount on your Time Capsule perhaps NTFS? According to the electronic book "Take Control of Your 802.11n AIrPort Network (v1.6)" (http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/airport-n), "You must format mountable disks before you attach them to the base station, using either the Mac HFS+ format, or the FAT16 or GAT32 MS-DOS) formats."
I have no relationship with Take Control Books other than as a customer.

Does anyone have experience with this issue when connecting to a Linux FTP Web Server running a FTP Site?

I cannot access the root directory of the ftp file server using Web Matrix 3. The site is .php based, and
is accessible when connecting with FileZilla or Remote Connecting via FTP with Visual Studio.
All sites have been deleted from Web Matrix, the user Application Data has been cleared and Web Matrix has been reinstalled.
Issue Persists....

Turns out that the program leaves metadata in your app data folder that is not removed upon uninstallation of the software.
This is incorporated to communicate with a file that uploaded into the ftp directory when publishing pages.

New MBP internet tethering to 3GS iphone via usb - not bluethooth?

I have a new MBP 10.5.7 & a month old 3GS iphone.
I have set up internet tethering successfully & use it regularly.
The only "problem" is that i can only connect via bluetooth - not usb.
Im aware that you can internet tether via usb but dont know how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated
