  • Queries Greyed out Remote Control

    Hello there
We have migrated from a Landesk platform to System center, and our admin team is used to seeing a main device view where they remotely control machines from. I have created the query I want but the remote control options are greyed out. I have been playing
with all types of queries and I can get some to work, but If I add a join to another query it just brakes it.. This is basically on the back of the below link.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a0e22223-0802-46a0-a1b7-048773620cca/sccm-2012-remote-control-from-queries?forum=configmanagergeneral
I would be grateful if you could provide me with any information, surrounding this topic area or if it is being reviewed in future releases.
    Thanks

I have pretty much been doing that torsten.... but I just can not get the desired query to work..
The other annoying thing, is when I have a query that allows remote control.. I link it to a device collection.. and it doesnt display all the fields in the query..
    Anyone else having these difficulties?
Are we going to see any improvements in this area going forward?

  • Remote control between two phones ?

    Hi
Is there any S60 application which could control another (similar) phone (N or E series) remotely e.g. via Bluetooth ?
There are somekind of VNC applications at market, but there is always PC involved. In my case I would like to control another phone remotely when it (e.g. N95) is connected to TV set.
Currently I need to keep my phone in my hand in order to change pictures or play music.
    Thanks in advance.

This was meant for another group. Please disregard... unless you have a
    solution :)

  • Remote control error 1891 after eDir upgrade?

    - NW6sp3 two-node cluster (production server) houses read/write replica
    - NW6sp3 utility server houses master replica and is a ZenWorks 4IR5 server
    - The above servers reside in a small chunk of a much larger NDS tree
    - Roughly 150 users with the 4.90sp2 client + Zen4IR5 agent
    - ConsoleOne 1.3.6c with current Zen and Cluster snapins
Is there a known preferred method (or recommended method) of authenticating
to either read/write or master replica's? Here is my issue:
Prior to upgrading all three servers above to eDir 8.7.3.3, I was able to
use Zen to remote control my users's PC's. I WAS logging into the cluster
(read/write replica), just like all my users still do today. I began seeing
the remote control error "1891" which various TID's describe as an issue
with close proximity to a pure IPX server, and remote control fails. I have
no IPX running in my network currently. Opened tickets with Novell in both
their Zen and eDir teams.....no solution's yet. As I began banging around,
I found that if I force my login to the utility server (master repica in
this case) I now regain remote control ability to my users that authenticate
to the cluster (read/write). Also, if I intentionally login to a different
context of our tree (have a different admin create a temp account for me in
his context, say) first and not into my own context, I can remote control my
users in my context via ConsoleOne. Similarly, if I login to a different
context upon startup, then once the Windows desktop is loaded and I right
click the red N in my system tray, and login as myself into my own context,
I can remote control users. The issue arises when the first context I login
to is my own. Odd I say, odd.
I've done every flavor of dsrepair switches (-xk3, -a, timesync, etc) and
provided logs to Novell. Each dsrepair variant returns zero errors. I
believe the tree is healthy from what I and Novell can tell.
Attached are some logs from about a month ago when I started seeing these
remote control errors. Please note the time stamps on both the remote
    controller and remote controlled machines.
I've posted this over on the eDir board as well since it feels like an
    authentication issue to me....
Thanks for taking the time to look at this,
    Mike

  • Remote Control and Firewall WinXP SP2

Does any of you guys know how to prepare WindowsXP SP2 release which would

  • Firewall software & using a remote control for AirTunes?

I recently turned on the built-in firewall on my MacBook Pro. Ever since doing so, every time a run iTunes, get the following message:
Your computer is using firewall software that prevents
you from using a remote control for AirTunes.
To use a remote control for AirTunes, open System Preferences, click
Sharing, then click Firewall, and select "iTunes Music Sharing."
I always tell it to "Ignore" and I am able to play music through my AirPort Express without any trouble. What is the "remote control" to which this message is referring? I have searched Apple's support pages and this forum without any luck. I thought that opening the "iTunes Music Sharing" port in the firewall would allow other people on my local network to see my music if I was sharing it, which I am not. I don't see what this has to do with a remote control.
Thank you for any info you can provide.
    -- Gary

    Hi,
there is no remote control for AirPortExpress or Air Tunes. Maybe we will see something like this in the futue, who knows.
As AirTunes uses streaming, it probabely needs the same port open as Music Sharing. Because shared music is streamed too.

This was solved by simply allowing "iTunes Music Sharing" in the Firewall tab of the Sharing preference pane.

  • User Initiated Remote Control - Behind NAT

I must be missing something. I am try to allow a laptop to request a
remote control session when it is disconnected from the network. When I
right-click on the remote management agent the option to request a
session is greyed out. Our user and workstation policy allow for the
user requested session and the ability to accept connections accross
NAT/Proxy. Assigning a password to the remote management agent also does
    not help. Any ideas?

I keep seeing that if a machine is behind a NAT'd firewall, like home for
instance, the user should be able to click on the Remote Management icon
and select Request Session. If the machine is on the local network, all RC
functions are fine. As soon as it's disconnected and behind a home
firewall or not even that, connected via dial-up to the net these options
go away. I have logged into the middle-tier via these methods and that
produces no change in my remote control options.
The error logs indicate that the workstation is not authenticated, which is
obvious, and that neither policies will be active.
    Hope that helps...

  • My macbook pro is moving on its own. Not sure if its being remotely controlled or if its a bug but its annoying!!

I have a 15inch Macbook Pro that has recently been acting wacky. It feels like someone else is controlling my computer but all my sharing featured are turned off and i have my firewall on so i doubt its being remote controlled. Using my cursor is a constant battle. Sometimes its fine other times it won't cooperate. At random times the cursor will move and highlight a word and define it. YES Define the highlighted word. While on safari it'll  randomly zoom in on the webpage im on,  and contiue to highlight and  try to switch pages. It'll switch from desktop to  dashboard on its own as well as  make my launch pad disappear and reaapear. without me touching it at all. SOMEONE HELP !

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    3. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    4. Reset the System Management Controller.
    5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    6. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    7. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and the unit needs to be serviced or replaced.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • Confilicts with XP "Remote Desktop" and ZFD4 "Remote Control"

He have a similar problem like this. Some machines, after installing Zen4
agent, after first login, the WS reboot automatically every time.
He have discovered a conflit with display adapter ( Intel eXtreme graphics

Resolution: With workstation at CTRL+ALT+DEL or password prompt, access
the registry of this machine with a remote admin WS. At the
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run commands, find startup
tools from the display adapter, like HotKeysCmds -> C:\Windows\System32
\hkcmd.exe and remove them from registry.
Logon at the WS and if it run fine, reinstall the display adapter.
    I hope this help you.

thanx to Shawn Dakin for this solutions
    1) Change the Windows Firewall/ICS service to manual
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SharedAccess
    String Value Start = 3
    2) Force Windows Firewall/ICS service to start before Remote Management
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Novell User Agent
Multi String Value DependOnService = SharedAccess
NOTE: DependOnService must also contain WM
    3)Set Firewall Exceptions for wuser.exe
netsh firewall add portopening UDP 1761 ZENRC Enable
netsh firewall add portopening UDP 1762 ZENRC Enable
netsh firewall add allowedprogram c:\novell\zenrc\wuser32.exe ZenRC enable
NOTE We placed the netsh commands in the autoexec.bat of every WinXpSp2
    machine.
This fixed the problems for us, and allows us to remote control even if
    the user is not connected.
THIS WORKS WITH ZenWorks 3.2 ONLY

  • Remote Control Wireless Client ?

We're running Cisco LEAP enabled wireless clients on NT. Our Helpdesk would like to remote control these machines. Problem is: The HelpDesk administrators need Administrator privileges. They need to log in as themselves...remotely.
When they do a "close all programs & log in as different user" , of course the remote control session is lost & can't be reestablished till the client is LEAP authenticated, which can't happen till the remote user is logged in.....Catch 22.
Any ideas for a solution would be greatly appreciated !

Jeff - I've been working with a company that has created an app that gets around that problem - even through firewall connections - plus the Help Desk can use any client with a browser, which means that support OF and FROM mobile devices will finally work.
Of course the best way to see an app like that is an on-line demo so you can take over yourself.

Hi all, first post on the forums.  Was wondering if anyone was having a similar issue.  We are slowly testing SCCM and I'm stuck on probably the most important feature, remote control.  Whenever I "Start Control" of a workstation,
the remote control agent window shows "Connecting to Host Session" which brings up another prompt that alerts me that "The identity of the computer cannot be verified..." to which I reply "yes" to connect anyway.  However
I never connect and in the remnote control agent window shows "Viewer DIconnected".
On the client itself, in the CmRcService.log file, even though it shows that "Session allowed full control" and that I'm an "authorized viewer", later on I see "Disconnecting the connection.  An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host.  (Error: 80072746: Source Windows".  One line below, the log reports "The connection has been terminated".   Note I do not have a Firewall Policy enabled and I do not have any stringent virus protection
running.  Currently testing on Win7 x86 machine but also happens on WinXP, Server 2008 x64 and x86, etc.  Any have a resolution or idea why this is occuring?  Any help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks all.

  • Best Remote Control App

I've read countless reviews on most of the iPad remotes for Mac, but remain hesitant to spend 30 bucks before I know more.
I'm not looking to access my iMac from outside my home, just through my Airport N Wireless network. Basically I need to turn my iPad into a visual touchscreen remote control.
"iTeleport" sounds good, but some users complain there's no RDP support... would that matter to someone who's exclusively using Mac OS?
"Desktop Connect" also sounds good with its touch screen control feature, but same issue with some users complaining it's too slow. Not sure if that's because they are connecting to a Windows machine vs a Mac? Or they're connecting over the internet rather than their home network?
Anyone tried any of these apps? Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi, i have also mocha vnc butmy mac wont respond wheni trie to login?
    Could you help me?

  • Uninstall of VMware Player breaks Remote Control - Fix?

    Hi all,
I've had VMware Player 2.5 installed on some of my workstations, and we've recently (thanks to ZAV) been able to remove it. Unfortunately, the uninstall of VMware Player 2.5 breaks the ability to remote control the workstation. I see the service running, but it no longer responds to either the Zenworks Control Center or the TightVNC viewer on any port.
I've tried turning the firewall off, still broken
I've tried ZAC CC and ZAC REF on the workstations, still broken.
I've tried extracting and manually rerunning the Remote Management MSIs on the Agent...
Remote Policy shows good, no outward errors
Anyone know of a what might be causing this issue? Only way I can fix it is to go to the machine, uninstall and reinstall the Zenworks Agent... ugh...
    Thanks,
    Merrell
