Remote control over iphone

Is there such as app, or could one predictably be designed that would allow me to control what you see on your iphone? Much like software that already exists where one computer controls the other, or someone else moves your mouse pointer and manipulates your computer from a remote site, is such an app possible for the iphone? I would want to be able to send you whatever I wanted from my computer or iphone and have it appear on your screen WITHOUT you having to continually press an icon or open an email to view what I've sent. My data or image would simply appear on your ipone screen.

I've seen apps that let you control your home computer remotely (search "Remote Desktop") and apps that turn your phone into a wireless mouse, keyboard, and remote control for your Mac (search "Rowmote") but I do not believe there is an app that can remotely control an iPhone.

  • Any way to remote control another iPhone/iTouch/iPod with my iPhone 4?

Since I upgraded my iPhone 3G to an iPhone 4, I'm thinking of just using my old iPhone 3G as a Mp3 player connected to my stereo.
However, I don't want to walk over to my iPhone 3G and fiddle with it if I want to start/stop/change the music.
What I really want is to be able to remotely control my iPhone 3G with my iPhone 4 in my comfortable chair without getting up !!!
    Is that possible?

  • Remote control an iPhone?

I would like to be able to play movies from my iPhone to my TV. I have an iPod Touch, and I wonder if there is an app that I can put on the Touch that can remote control the iPhone. I have searched the iTunes store and looked on the web, but I can't find anything. Does anyone know of any such thing? Thanks.

Thanks for the speedy replies, but I should have been more clear. I actually have an Apple TV (3, in fact). But I'd like to have a more portable solution, especially for those times when I don't have local access to my network (e.g, when I'm on vacation). Thanks again.

  • Looking for remote control App (iPhone) to use with iMovie

I just got a Macbook Air, and my infrared Apple remote control doesn't work with it.
I wanted to be able to do presentations (in this case using iMovie) and be able to have a remote so that I could pause, go back, fast forward, i.e. the usual things a remote does.
There probably is a good App that I can install on my iPhone that will let me use my iPhone as a remote control, but I don't know which one. Any suggestions????  Ideally, it would be a bluetooth program (although Wi-Fi would work too) that would also work with other programs, like Keynote.
    Thanks!

Well, I don't know much about this, but if you need to control the actual system in some way, you are going to need to use JNI (Java Native Interface), which is essentially embedding C/C++ code in your java app, which doesn't lend well to platform-independence. I too develop on a Mac, and there is a mailing list for Java related issues on the Mac. You can check it out at: http://developer.apple.com/java/
If you sign up for ADC (Apple Developer Connection, it's free), you can have access to these mailing lists. They've been quite helpful to me in the past. I don't mean to slam the forums here, but you are looking for a Mac specific solution, and you'd probably get more specific information on this mailing list. Hope this helps!!

  • Remote control over the Internet?

    Hi,
I was under the impression that there was a way to use Zenworks to
    remote
    control via the Internet.
I'm a consultant and support several NetWare 6 installations and would
love to be able to use Zenworks to support my clients from here.
The only way I have seen so far is either to remote control a

    Did I miss something?
Is anyone doing this? How can I do this?
    Thanks

you're probably thinking of ZfD4.x, where you can remote control by
    just specifying the IP address.

  • Desktop remote control software for iPhones?

Is there any software for desktop pc's to remote control an iPhone? I see numerous apps to control things from the iPhone, but I need one for the other way around.
We are looking to possibly deploy our own in-house app, but need to remote control the devices for troubleshooting/presentation purposes.
    Any information is appreciated!

Not as of yet. The only thing that is remotely (no pun intended) close is remote file access, like apps such as Air Sharing.

  • Remote control iPhone 4 via Windows Laptop/Desktop

    Hello,
I was wodnering if there was a way to remotely control my iPhone via my Windows Laptop? My speaker system is across the room which is hooked up to my iPhone, so everytime I want to change to a specific song or skip a song, I would have to get up and manually change it.
I have seen apps in the store that allow you use the iPhone control another apple device, or use your iPhone as the remote. However in this case, I want to use my computer as the remote.
Anyone have any ideas or tips? Thanks in advance.

Gave it a look, tried all the troubleshooting. My IP addresses are the same, so now I really don't understand. I'm just super confused. If it hadn't ever worked, I would just write it off as my university network being too strict... but now that it has worked once and really... nothing changed... I am just very confused.

  • LV 6.1, 3D Surface Graph sometimes collapses (doesn't work stably); plus blocks use of remotely controlled panel by LV run-time engine (error #26:"window.cpp", line 11518

    1) "3D Surface Graph" does not work stably; sometimes it changes its properties (e.g. plot style) without me doing anything prior to that; a couple of times it lost a complete sense so that I had to delete the graph and install it again
    2) I tried to remotely run a VI which contains a 3D Surface Graph in it. It turns out, the use of the "3D Surface Graph" somehow blocks the remote control over the panel. As a result of that, I got the following error message: Error #26: "window.cpp", line 11518 (with LabVIEW version 6.1).
    3) Is it possible to plug into the 3D Surface Graph a few plots at
the same time since there is a built-in control "plot number" (somehow by bundling them up or putting into an array - I tried both but didn't work) or it can be done merely by use of 'case' structure preceding the Graph, where case structure decides which plot to pass into the 3D graph?

    Hello mjoler,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
The following example will show you how to plot multiple 3D plots on a single 3D graph. Modeling your VI after the example may also alleviate the instability that you have been experiencing.

As far as the error you are receiving, it's difficult to say what could be causing this. ActiveX controls embedded on a front panel sometimes do not display on a remote client because they draw and operate almost completely independent of LabVIEW. If possible, try remotely controlling your VI with a client computer that has a complete installation of LabVIEW. The error could also be a bu

  • Is there any way to remotely control iPhone and iPad?

    Hi All,
I'am investigating a way to remotely control and solve basic problems of iPhone and iPad's. As an enterprise company we have over 2000 iPhones and iPads in our corporate and we want our help desk professionals be able to connect these type of mobiles and help staff over the phone.
Is there a way to achieve this situation and could you please share with related articles about this sceneraio.
    Thanks Already

No. There is no way to do so. Apps would not have access to the necessary APIs to do so as it would create a serious security risk.

  • Remote controlling iphone

Is it possible for me to send data, photos etc. to an iphone where the person who has the iphone can see the data, photos etc appear on their screen, but the data, photos etc. automatically appears on the iphone screen? The recipient of my data, photos etc. would NOT be required to touch the iphone screen (to "open" up my data, photos etc). The recipient would only be able to see what I send them and would not have any control over what I send them.

    Hi there,
I'm considering buying either a Mac Mini or an Apple TV. My main purpose would be to have a low power consuming lossless music player, which I can control with my iPhone.
There isn't, imho, a single remote-control app that works so fluently with a musicplayer than iTunes works with my iPhone.
    Now for the questions:
    1. will I get the same interface
not quite. see this read http://www.theiphoneblog.com/2008/07/12/app-review-controller-for-itunes-apple-t v/.
2.if I've paired my Apple TV once, should I re-pair it every time I wanna re-use it (on other days)?
no. once paired it will stay paired. you just join your network, and connect to the content on your TV.
