Remote control to DVD/Video player

Controller DVD RMT-D224P  After trying to view a disc unsuccessfully, which had personal photos on, I went into system menu and changed setting from DVD 3 to DVD 1.  Controller went dead.  Player can be operated on/off from machine. Will player other discs. Have changed batteries.  Still no connection.  Help needed from OAP novice to get reconnected.

Use iDVD to do it. Select and click "Share" at the top of the window in the menu bar of iMovie, and you can find "iDVD". But  have you got iDVD installed on your Mac? If not, please check https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4821 to reinstall it. If you have no iDVD installed and don't want to reinstall it either, you can use other DVD creator software to help you burn iMovie to DVD.

  • Controlling sound from video player on the timeline

I'm working on a site that is using frames on the timeline
for different pages in the site.
One frame (page) has a video component in it that plays an
    flv file.
When I play the video in that frame it works great, but then
when I navigate to another frame, the sound from the video
component still plays, even though I'm in a frame with no video
    component.
How can I get the sound to stop when the user navigates away
from the page with the video component?

There's no magic solution. However, you don't necessarily have to re-edit it all. Convert the clips in GoPro Studio, using the Fisheye Removal checkbox. In Premiere, right-click a clip in the Bin and use "Replace Footage" and point it to the NEW clip. Do this for each clip. This should replace the clips in the timeline and you won't need to re-edit the clips in the Sequence.
I've had a similar issue - editing a large, two-camera wedding ceremony and later deciding I wanted to use a DeNoiser filter to clean up the grainy video. Converted the clips externally, then replaced in Premiere. No problems, worked like a charm, all edits and effects intact but using new, cleaned footage.

  • DVD Video Control

I remember trying to control a DVD-video disk in MX 2004
(using something in the Goodies folder). I didn't have much luck as
the video play back was stuttering. Does anyone know if v.11 is any
better as controlling a DVD-video disk?

In April Allen Partridge published a list saying: "The
following legacy issues were all FIXED in Director 11...
FIXED ** 25. Crash is happening while tried to change
location of DVD asset to some invalid location. ** FIXED".
I guess this fix addresses just one of the problems of DVD
Event Manager from the Goodies folder.
To say the truth, I have not enough tested DVD-Video with
Director 11, and thus cannot directly answer your question. Certain
features of my project other then DVD keep away from 11.
I do not use and do not like the DVD Event Manager, as it is
restrictive and buggy (at least it was buggy with MX 2004).
Currently, it is much more effective to learn to control DVD-video
directly with lingo, tracking DVD events with DVDeventNotification
handler and using the relevant metods and properties. A good way to
learn the tricks, I think, is to read about similar events, methods
and properties in the documentation to OnStageDVD Professional
Xtra, from the Visible Light. A complimentary way would be to print
out the code of DVD Event Manager of Director.
The OnStageDVD Professional Xtra, in my experience, is more
reliable than DVD cast member of Director. However, the Xtra is for
Windows XP, NT and 2000 only (though Vista was mentioned in their
plans). And it is not for Director 11.

  • Controlling the Dreamweaver Flash Video Player

    Hi all,
I'm using the Flash video player that comes with Dreamweaver
CS3 (FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf) to play a video on one of my web
pages, and it works fine. However, I'd also like to be able to
control playback using some HTML buttons below the video. I've been
Googling for ages now looking for documentation on how to use
JavaScript to control the player, but I can't find anything. Does
anyone know where I could find it?
    Thanks,
    Russ

Html doesn't control flash players. The skins, controls,
    buttons, etc are
referenced by the SWF file. You would have better control
    over your video
player if you compiled the FLV/SWF in a Flash program instead
    of DW.

    It seems a microsoft upgrade

Did you repair permissions before updating to 10.4.6? What have you done since the update as far as trouble shooting?

  • I have a DVD-Rom and DVD-Video card for Powerbook and need advice

I acquired 2 accessory components for a G3 series powerbook. I have a dual G4 so have no use for them. There is a M4743 DVD-Rom for Powerbook and a DVD-Video PC card for G3 series Powerbook family M5163. There is also a software CD. I would like to sell them but I really don’t how to explain what this stuff does. I tried Ebay and did not find any matches. Does this make a DVD upgrade for a particular Powerbook? Is something else required? Is Ebay the best place to sell? Any idea what this stuff is worth? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Bob

    Robert,
You apparently have the DVD Video Player Kit for the Powerbook G3 Series "Wallstreet" M4753.
    This is the DVD-ROM module:
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/customer/product.php?productid=16219&cat=26 6&page=1
This is the DVD Decoder PC card:
    http://www.ifixit.com/cart/customer/product.php?productid=296&cat=&page=1
The above DVD PC card is not Apple's but there were two third-party vendors who also offered a DVD kit...VST and MCE. They all served the same purpose and will all be priced similarly.
Both PC card and optical drive are required to play DVD movies on the Wallstreet, plus Apple DVD Player is only supported when booted to 9.x, not 10.x.
I really cannot give you a fair price to ask; the above hardware prices are probably high but you will get an idea.

  • Using the native iOS video player?

I would like to learn more about using the iOS native video player in my Adobe Air app.
I understand that you can launch the native iOS video player by using StageWebView.
What are some of the limitations of using the native IOS player with this method?
Can I not limit the user's control of the playback controls so the user cannot fastforward thru an ad video?
Once the video is done, can I auto start to a new video?
When the user clicks the DONE/BACK button, can I close the StageWebView?
Are there other ways to launch the iOS native player instead of using StageWebView?
Is anyone creating a Native Extension for the iOS native video player?
If you were to create an app using native iOS code instead of Adobe AIR, what can you do with the native player that you can't control using Adobe Air?
    thanks!
    Jack

    Hi, Jack:
My answers are based on what I have done:
other than stageWebView, you can load native player from native UIWebview, and probably (I guess) directly open a video players.
If you do it from UIWebview, you can have the full access control of the video player, and interaction between Flex and Objective-c is also supported.
Regarding what we can do with the native player, I say we can do anything we want if it's loaded on the UIWebview.
Let's say 'pause', you can make your native player to be paused in the flex code, besides directly click the pause button. The simple workflow is:
Mapping 'pause' function to a objective-c function which triggers the native videoplayer pause function. One situation would be that you have HTML5 page only contains a video player, and java script functions to control the video (player pause, fullscreen etc).
Therefore, you can just call those javascript functions from objective-c.
You can also get information back from objective-c. Let's say you wanna do something after the video is finished, so the objective-c call javascript to listen end info of the video. then objective-c pass this information back to flex as an event. The Flex side catches this event and maps this event into Flex event for your use.
If there is a way to direcly invoke native player, those steps above will be much simpler, but I haven't tried. I am sure someone is doing that, hopefully they can answer you here.
    Regards,
    Matthew

  • Pulseaudio remote control

What I'm looking for is a way to control pulseaudio from my phone.
I love Pulseaudio Volume Control (the desktop app which lets you control each application's volume level). The best thing would be an android app which connects to pavu. I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon, so this is why I'm asking for alternatives here.
What I've been thinking of but haven't done because it's so clumsy:
    - connect to my computer via vnc as a second screen and have pavucontrol run there
--> not really elegant at all
    - write my own android app and have it log in to my pc using ssh.
--> well, this takes time. Last resort.
Remote controlling only my music player for example is NOT an option. I have many applications running which play sound and I want to mix them all together, not with an app for each one of these. I'm talking about
    - being on teamspeak
    - playing some music
    - having system sounds
    - and the occasional notification from somewhere
at the same time. Doing it manually is just not an option.
    Thanks for any ideas!

A quick search did not turn up anything for andriod, but the wiki mentions a web front end that might help you get what you want: https://github.com/Siot/PaWebControl.
EDIT: You can also try setting up an programmable SSH client with defined commands for the most common use cases.

  • Raise your hand if you want better Native Video Player support on iPhone!

Please submit a bug/enhancement report to Apple if you would like them to remove the restriction on iPhone's ability to playback native video inline (as opposed to ALWAYS going fullscreen). This is handy for a number of application:
    1. Using actionscript and stageWebView, you can control the native video player by issuing javascript calls to content embedded in an html page. (see http://www.yeahbutisitflash.com/?p=3968 for a good tutuorial)
Likewise, you can have your movie react to events happening in the native video player (time index, finished playing, etc.) by doing the reverse (again, http://www.yeahbutisitflash.com/?p=3996 is a great read for how to get started doing this)
    2. You can allow the user to send video content to an Apple TV (or maybe a future iTV?) without releasing app functionality. ie: the user doesn't get locked into a full-screen state on his or her device.
The ONLY reason AIR lacks interactivity with the native player on iOS is because the Obj-C UIwebview webview.allowsInlineMediaPlayback property is set to "NO" by default on the iPhone (it is set to "YES" on the iPad and everything I described above works beautifully!)
From what I gather, in Xcode, you simply set this UIwebview propterty to "yes" along with adding "webkit-playsinline" to the html video tag in order to permit an app to play back video inline on the iPhone. I suggested to Apple they remove the restriction, perhaps requiring the html tag alone for inline playback.
If you agree that AIR should have improved native video handling, please submit a bug/enhancement report to Apple bugreport.apple.com  Having this "restriction" lifted will ensure we can produce quality Universal media apps with identical functionality on both iPad and iPhone platforms.
    Thanks for reading!

    What's an ECR?
I filed a bug report with Apple. I guess I'm satisfied with the response (is all I can say due to standard NDA) But from what I've read elsewhere on the 'net, the more reports that come in regarding an issue, the more it gets escalated.
Do you have an iPad example demonstrating these capabilities? The StageWebView videos players I've seen always had limited control over the video.
I have an app in development with these capabilities fully functional and very stable. Unfortunately, javascript control of native video in a stageWebView is hobbled on the iPhone due to the restriction I describe above. Specifically, the functions all work except for the vid.play() js command, which will always trigger a full-screen playback. Poop. I guess I will go for an iPad-only soft launch and put the iPhone/universal version on the back burner.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Remote control (RM-1500) and DVD-player. (Need he

I've got Audigy 2 ZS platinum with remote RM-500, but software included in package allows to play only DVD-audio. Creative recomend to install InterVideo DVD 5 to play video DVD with Creative Audio-DVD program.
I've got InterVideo DVD 6 Platinum, but it doesn't controlled by RM-500 (there is no problems with my logitech Cordless keyboard with media buttons). As I found out there is differens in buttons menu: Creative use Enter for play, Spase bar for Pause, ect., but standart windows programs use Ctr+P and Ctr+Shift+P.
Does Creative have patch that solve this problem. To have remote that cann't contol DVD player (exept Audio DVD) is useless stuff.

    Skeleton,
Have you added the DVD player software to the external applications listing under the remote control tab in MediaSource settings. The controls on the remote are mapped to the keys as defined by Microsoft. If the program is compliant to this then it should work.

  • DVD Remote Control buttons don't work when using regular DVD player

I created a DVD using DVD Studio Pro (version 3.0.2) and am unable to navigate through any menus or buttons using the DVD players remote control. I can press the play button on the actual DVD player and play the movie. How can I fix this issue? Any suggestions would be helpful!
I never changed the default setting on the file I made and the DVD works just fine in the simulator as well as any computer DVD player. Also, is there a way to make sure the DVD will play on all DVD players even if it doesn't read burned DVDs?
    Thanks for the help!

Not sure if I can add anything here - you're in good hands! I'd like to know how you constructed the menus - did you use photoshop layers for the background and overlay, or did you use a pict file? Are these motion menus or static?
About the compatibility - a burned disc will only ever be about 85% compatible with the number of DVD players out there, and if a DVD player states that it cannot read from DVD-R or DVD+R discs then it most likely won't play your disc. The only way to approach full compatibility is to have the disc replicated, but the cost of this usually means it is not worth while for anything less than 500 to 1000 discs at a time. If you are using DVD±R then all you can do is take steps to make sure the disc is as compatible as it can be, such as keeping the MPEG encode less than 7.5MBPS, using AC3 audio, not applying paper labels and so on.
Compatibility is getting better in general, this summer I have burned in excess of 90 individual projects on DVD-R (and duplicated each one up to seven times each) for playback on consumer players and only one came back (so far). When I looked at it there was a chunk missing from the surface of the disc, which probably explained the error!

  • Remote control does not work with DVD player.

I have a HP Pavilion DV6135nr, the remote control came with the computer, its a RC6. I can not get the computer to recognize the remote control.

Have you tried if this remote works with any other HP notebook? if not, have you replaced the battery on the remote to check its not a battery issue on the remote?
Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
