Remote Control with Touch Screen Devices

I have encountered some trouble using CM's Remote Control with touch-enabled devices. It seems that the cursor on my screen thinks that it is in a different place than the cursor on the remote screen.
Both devices have been Dell Latitude E-series laptops. It is possible that this is isolated to these. Has anyone else encountered this? Remote Assistance seems to work fine, but that lacks in so many other ways compared to Remote Control.
This is using Remote Control with SCCM 2012 R2 just to clarify in case there are any differences between the various CM versions.
Any input would be appreciated.

We use ELO touch screens and some Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablets, and I haven't experienced any of the problems that you are talking about...
I know that's not helpful but thought I'd throw my experiences in.

  • Canvas Key events with touch screen devices

I am drawing a canvas and on the DOWN (Canvas.DOWN) keyPressed event, the Canvas is repainted with a smaller y coordinate giving it a scrolling effect.
This works fine on devices that have the UP, DOWN keys etc (even on the Blackberry 9700 trackpad) .
Is there any way to map the scrolling on touch screen devices i.e. Blackberry 9550 to the Canvas DOWN event? Or any other way that will require nothing more than J2ME?

    Polys,
Did you try calling Canvas.keyPressed(Canvas.DOWN) from within Canvas.pointerDragged() method?
Obviously you would have to detect the dragging direction first and then call keyPressed() method with an appropriate static variable (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT).

  • Playing Spades with touch screen

Just got a new 9930 with touch screen. Attempted to play Spades using touch screen but fingers too big to hit individual cards well. Is there a way to play games using track ball like older devices?

    Hi
Firstly thanks for the reply, then i have to ask is there any way you can change the layout of the music control screen when its in the unlocked format as even though it will stay on as long as you want it to, its at the bottom of the screen and not the middle or top.
    again thanks

  • Problem with touch screen control

I got my incredible yesterday and activated it.
    I have problems:
-When I use the zoom (pinch/spread) on larger screens,  I loose the ability to scroll up/down/right/left (swipe, slide).
-I lose the use of the four main buttons.
-I get strange menus popping up.
    -The phone completely freezes up.
For example on the Maps app:
I "pinch/spread" to zoom in on the map.  Then, I want to move the screen up/down/left/right.  Most of the time, I am unable to do so.  It just keeps on zooming in and out.  I am only using one finger and moving in a straight line (up, down, left, right), but it keeps zooming in and out.
Also, When this zoom problem happens, the four buttons (home, menu, back, search) do not work at all.   They are completely useless.
Another thing it does when it is stuck "zooming", a pop-up box appears.  This pop-up box has three icons in it:
    -two papers
    -a magnifying glass
-and a green circle with two arrows pointing off from the circle
The touch screen is frozen, so I have no idea what those icons are supposed to do (I could probably guess).
When this box comes up, if I try using the joystick,  it will start making green lines and boxes all over the screen.   The touch screen and four buttons are still totally useless.
Other times, a menu appears for no apparent reason.  I can't select anything in the menu, or back out of it.  Again, the touch screen and four buttons are totally useless.
I must turn it off, then back on.  Then, I can back out of the menu.
It is NOT just the Maps app.  It happens regularly while using the browser to read web pages.  I've also had the phone freeze up doing other various things (like the flash light).
I've removed the battery and restarted (soft reset).  I've also done the factory reset (hard reset).  The problems continue exactly as before.
The problems are not 100% of the time.  I have been able to use it some, and can see how it is supposed to work (and it is great).  But, the zooming problem makes internet use, and the Maps app nearly impossible (I am sure I would have a long list of other programs, but I only started using it yesterday).   I can use these things fine for a minute or two before the problems start (usually starting with the zoom problem).
Sorry if this is long (I am copy/pasting it to send to Verizon support).
    Any ideas?

Make sure you return the phone if the touch screen is unresponsive.  Continue to return any replacement until you get one that the screen is complliant with your touch, skin chemistry and local climate.
This issue cost me the cost of a replacement phone, and repacemet of broken touch screen glass and LCD when I continually tried to use more pressure to get the screen to respond.
Mine was less responsive when the phone was receiving a call and was ringing, which tells me it may be a design flaw that will not carry enough current to the touch screen when the ringing is occuring.
The replacement is a new one that I had to purchase as they would not warranty the other one.  It is also unresponsive to the touch when in standy and the phone is ringing.  I have learned to be persistently working with it the entire duration of the ring cycle, and am 75% effective in answering calls before they time out.
The original one was repaired(?) at my expense, and came back totally unable to wake from standby.  I have to take out the battery and power it back up to get it to work again.  Presently, I have the display timeout set to 1 hour.  If the phone rings after the screen goes to standby, I have to let it ring and go to voicemail, then remove the battery and power it back on.
The original one was 6 weeks old, but the entire warranty was void once the touch screen glass cracked.  It was easy to verify that the phone had not been dropped.  The screen glass cracked under thumb pressure.
Of course, neither Verizon or HTC had ever heard of this occuring before.  I spent the better part of today trying to find the right combination of applications and timing to wake it from standby.  I finally reformatted the SD card, reformatted the Phone Storage, do a factory data reset and finally a new firmware load.  Nothing will restore the screen.
If I had to guess, I would say there is a trace on the board that was not sufficient to carry the current of a full volume ringtone at 0dB.   It could also be parameters on the touch screen that are too tight to compensate for differences in skin resistance/capacitance.  Also is the possibillity of bad ground integrity between  the phones individual circuits.
It is all academic, as I have spent another 200.00 on the original to replace the touch screen and LCD Display, only to find out that the phone is now unable to respond to the touch screen when it is in standby.
I will continue to use the new one until it finally stops responding completely.  This time, I bought insurance.  I can keep on taking them back until they acknowledge the problem.
Try to learn from my mistakes.  Make them continue to replace the phone until you get one that works.

  • All in one Desktop with Touch Screen - 2 monitors and Keyboards

Looking at the Beats version of the All in One desktop computers. Both myself and Partner would like to both have access to the All in One computer so we can both be on it. Is it possible to connect a second touch screen monitor so that we both can login to the one PC

    Hello KenR60.
Yes you can as long as you have wireless internet connection .  Open up Windows Help and Support type in connecting two computers direction are given setting up a home network.  I am sure windows 8 can if windows 7 can.  The direction are to much to post here. Your Windows Help Support gives direction plus other neat things you can do as well.  How do you think companies and stores do it? I do it with my computers.  You use to be able to email a remote connection link but I think HP did a way with it when they updated HP's Support Assistant that one was much easier  to use and never had to remeber pass words or go into control pannel and set up things. There is no such thing as Beats windows. All HP's computers come with Audio Beats thats what they call their sound software.

  • Using functional global variables to transfer data between touch screen device and other targets

    Hi,
We are currently developing a control system that will operate on a cRIO with a touch screen interface. During development we have been using functional global variables (FGVs) to handle most of the settings/data etc, however we have just realised that we may have an issue updating the data on the touch screen, and vice versa.
Previously we have implemented similar programs using shared variables, however we were wondering if there is anyway to implement FGVs in a similar manner, whether it'd be a combination of FGVs and shared variables.
    Regards,

    Software version: Labview 8.2.1

See this thread on LAVA about sharing FGV's across projects. THis should be extendable to cross paltforms (I believe).
You also may want to concider an upgrade to LV 8.5.1. We have found a number of performance related issues with LV 8.2.1 and RT.
If you decide not to upgrade, just remeber what I wrote (above) when you have reason to question the performance.

    Hi Almach89,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I advise yout to try and back up your data with Nokia Suite. If you do not have it installed on your PC yet, you may do so with this link.
Then connect your device to it and go to Tools > Back up. Also go to Synchronise > Synchronise now > All. Once the sync is completed, check the different tabs to see if the data has been correctly synced. If this is successful, your data will now be safe (please use your own judgement).
You may update your device from the updates tab to see if that fixes the screen issue.
Alternatively, please take your device to your nearest Nokia Care Point or call your Local Careline, please find the details via this link.
Feel free to post any other questions you may have.

  • Bought HP M7-k211xd advertised to come with touch screen but apparently doesn't...

So I bought this laptop about two weeks ago and i've been trying to figure out why It doesn't have touch screen capabilities this is clearly what came out of the box the display where I bought it had the touch screen feature as well...  Apparently you guys don't sell what is advertised to your customers...?  The box says touch screen feature and ever where I read says to go to control panel and enable the touch screen via hardware and sound and when i search this it says under "PC Info" it says 'this computer is not touch screen' So yeah... I already can't return the product where I bought since it's been over 15 days so i'm stuck with a laptop that I didn't pay for. Can anyone assist me at all.

    Hi @ABlueChocobo ,
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).

  • Unresponsive remote control with Toshiba 24D3434DB

    I recently bought a 24D3434D smart tv.
I was unable to scan for any channels when i bought it since i didnt have an aerial socket in the room i was using it in but i was able to use the smart tv function until suddenly the tv displayed a screen telling me that no channels were availiable and stopped responding to the remote control.
I took it back to the shop and the tv started to respond to the remote again and they were able to scan for channels there. When i took it home and turned it on again the remote wouldn't respond anymore until i tried again the next day after i left it unplugged over the night.
In the morning i found that the remote was working again until i plugged the tv into an adapter and not directly into the mains where the tv stopped responding to the remote again.
Does anyone know why this is happening or what i can do to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

    >In the morning i found that the remote was working again until i plugged the tv into an adapter and not directly into the mains where the tv stopped responding to the remote again.
What adapter do you mean exactly?
Does the remote control work properly if the TV is connected directly to the mains?
To be honest this is the first time I meet such issue.
Maybe some kind of light affects the functionality of the remote control, maybe its really an TV or remote control hardware problem.
I guess to find out whats exactly wring you should test it with another remote control or another TV and same remote control.

  • Problems with touch screen in ideapad U530

I Have a Ideapad U530. The touch screen worked a few hours, after having purchased and then I stop. I saw that had disappeared the "Pen and Touch" and Tablet PC in the Control Panel folder.
I went back to recover the system at the time had arrived from the factory and the laptop returned to work a few hours, this time with the Pen and Touch and the Tablet PC in the Control Panel. Then returned to stop working and disappeared again both drivers.
I need to find a solution to this problem.
    Can I help me?

    Hi Adrileb,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that your U530 Laptop touch screen is not working as expected even after performing “System Restore” in the computer, I suggest re-installing display driver from our Support Website and check if the issue persists and while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error. Below is the link to download the relevant drivers for U530:

Do post us back if the issue persists.

  • Problem with touch screen sensitivity, makes calls randomly when I have it against my ear!

I am at my wits end about this.as I am on the phone and have handset against my ear it randomly activates the touch screen and either dials someone else or put call on hold, so they can't hear me. By the time I figure out what has happened, whoever I was speaking to has likely hung up! I tried to adjust screen sensitivity but nothing I do seems to work. Same when I use track pad to scroll, it is way too sensitive, so often I am scrolling through my calendar and it will open a new appointment randomly. Is there a solution before I break this terrible phone with a hammer?!

Your first problem ( I am on the phone and have handset against my ear it randomly activates the touch screen and either dials someone else or put call on hold, so they can't hear me.) can be solved by putting the top of the device near to your ear first and then the rest while on the call - their are sensors in the phone that blackout the display when in a call the top of the device is brought closer to the face
