Remote controling a MC for a menu

This one is really difficult to explain. I will do my best.
I have a webpage that loads a swf file which has a MC
(parent) that has actionscript in it that onEnterFrame loads a MC
(B) into an empty MC (C). MC (B) has a menu that goes to different
sections within itself. On another webpage I have a swf file with
buttons, and I want to be able to click on a button that will load
the first html page with the MC (A) and also go to a section of MC
(A) right away. I just do not know how to target a section of a MC
that is loaded in an empty MC on another page.
I hope that makes some sence.
Is there a way to have a flash button goto a URL with flash
on it, and open another flash file in an empty MC and go into that
file at a certain point?
I wish I knew how to describe this better.

as for you 2nd question about opening a flash file and going
to a particular frame, use the sharedobject to store the frame
label (or number) and access the sharedobject from your newly
opened swf.

HEY CREATIVE!!!! Where is the remote control plug-in for Mediasource 5?

I just upgraded to Mediasource 5 only to discover that this version doesn't offer any support for my Creative remote control. The remote control plugin on the downloads page says:
"This download is for all Creative MediaSource? (version 3.00.6 or later) users currently using a Creative remote control."
...But when I try to install this plugin, it doesn't recognize that Mediasource 5 is installed. The description should read: "version 3 ONLY".
I found other threads on this as well. The only resolution I found (aside from switching back to an earlier verision of Mediasource) suggested the use of third party software.
Come on Creative, Mediasource 5 and it's other plugins have been officially available for download for since Dec. 22, 2006. That's 7 months.
7 MONTHS!
I've got to admit that I use my remote too infrequently to bother going back to an earlier version of Mediasource but WTF, I shouldn't have to compromise.
It's things like this that contribute in a large part to Creative's loosing market share.

Anyone? I need the volume control panel to enable the spdif out to my external decoder!

Need a way to remotely control a camcorder for live streaming

Hi all,
I purchased a Canon Vixia HF R40 for streaming. It works well enough when I use the camera's HDMI out to a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and stream via Livestream.com.
The problem I'm having is that the camera is permanently mounted about 8' up a wall, and I sometimes need zoom it in or out for different programming. Reading the box, I expected to be able to us WiFi to remotely control the zoom, but turning on WiFi turns off the HDMI output.
Questions:
1) Will the Canon CameraWindow software on my computer allow me to control the zoom the R40 via USB, or is it just for transferring previous recordings?
2) Is there a different camcorder that will allow me to stream the HDMI output and zoom?

1. No, as far as I know you cannot control the camera via USB.
2. I believe that the last camcorders in Canon's M series (M400, M40, M41) came with an IR remote which could control the zoom.

Need help with my Toshiba remote control and receiver for Qosmio G30 161

Hello to all
I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-161 and with it I have a Toshiba remote control and a Toshiba remote control receiver, this is the first time I have used it (tried to that is), my problem is the remote is not working on the computer when I press any program buttons the computer does nothing.
I have installed four brand new AA batteries and the remote works fine its sending signals to the receiver, the receiver the detecting the remote as a red light appears every time you press a button and as for the computer I have checked the drivers and the USB is picking up the receiver as a E-home remote receiver which I have checked with Toshiba and that is correct, so all in all the remote is working, the receiver is picking up signals and the pc has detected the receiver but nothing works, I have installed remote control manager but this still has done anything. I have spoken to Toshiba help and support and the end result is they are not sure what the problem is. Can anyone help I require the remote for slideshows for customers as I??m a photographer.
Also to confirm I am running Windows XP MCE addition.

Hi there,
this remote contol works, if you use it without any special drivers and special software, only in the Media Center.
But if you install such stuff like [WinLirc|winlirc.sourceforge.net] then you should be able to get some functions for your presentation.
Please try this tool and check if it works.
By the way: If I were you I would first read the Manual and FAQ of WinLirc before starting because its a little bit tricky to handle the program. :) (Too many settings :D)

Remote control & screen recording for group Xcode + iPhone lectures?

I'll lecture on programming the iPhone.
Based on my past experience with lecturing on Java programming (and the hurdles of correctly recording all this), I want to access the students' OS X desktops right from my (lecturer's) OS X desktop.
I need a solution with the least overhead. That is, keeping open, say, 6-8 remote sessions in the background to quickly switch to should not put a noticeable burden on the lecturers' machine (currently a Mac Mini). If this achievable, I need an offline solution that can connect to the client OS X desktops in less than 4-5 seconds so that I don't need to wait much.
I consider supporting high-resolution, high-quality (with audio) video recording without putting much burden on the CPU a definite advantage. (No problem if the particular "mass VNC / remote desktop" solution doesn't directly support this, however - I can go the "separate screen recorder" route.)

I understand the Ipad is no complete substitute for a computer, but since I have mine, I use no more the lap or netbook for classroom presentations; I found easier to use the Ipad connected to a projector with the vga adapter. I see no limitations or problems, I simply synchronize my powerpoint presentations from my PC to the Ipad, and that's all. The Ipad is even better, you just touch "play" on keynote and the presentation begins immediately on the screen; you don't have delays or need to change from the computer display to the projector. When synchronizing, you have sometimes to arrange some image or text but it is no major problem. What is strange to me, is to have to go to the desk where the ipad is, to change slide each time. The Ipad is a step to the future, why cannot be remote controlled? Why can't I just walk around the room with my Ipad in my hand, speaking to the audience, and advancing slide just touching my Ipad when I want? I expect Apple, or somebody, design soon an inalambric device to be connected to the ipad, with a receiver connected to the projector, as there are so many for the laptops. I will run to buy it. Apple, please listen.

Using remote control distorts aero for windows 7

everytime I remote to a machine using the remote control feature in zcm in alters the desktop display of the computer, sometimes changing the fonts, wallpaper, etc..

Use iPad to remotely control iphone 4s for video capture

I want to use iPad3 to monitor and activate an iPhone 4s video function. Possible?

I found the solution - APP called AIR BEAM - about $4 app store iTunes. Be sure to view all the setting choices for how you want to use it as there are a few you will not need and will disable. I did not need sound or motion sensing but did want to store on iPAD (choose transmit feature as clip will be on iPhone otherwise).

Is there any software for desktop pc's to remote control an iPhone? I see numerous apps to control things from the iPhone, but I need one for the other way around.
We are looking to possibly deploy our own in-house app, but need to remote control the devices for troubleshooting/presentation purposes.

Not as of yet. The only thing that is remotely (no pun intended) close is remote file access, like apps such as Air Sharing.

which one take effect?
i already made the policy and applied it and give specific normal domain user remote control security role to specific collection
but when user try to connect to any PC the remote tool ask him to supply credential.

Need Sceptre TV Remote Control code(s) that work with VZ P265v3RC -- the '335' code does NOT

Recently upgraded my TV's in my house with new Sceptre 40" and 50" TV's - thank you WalMart. Purchased in September 2014. (new / current Sceptre TVs).
All of the Verizon printed, online, and other documentation for the P265V3 RC (model RC2655005/01B) for Sceptre shows to use code '335'. I have tried the '335' code on both of the TV's and no worky at all.
Following the 'Quick Setup Guide-Verizon FIOS remote' steps (paper/PDF instructions with RC Manual):
I can successfully enter the '335' code as outlned in step 4... and 'The RED LED will blink twice and then stay on'. occurs. So far, so good.
Step 5 states, "5. Press and release the <CH +> button repeatedly until the TV turns off......." This happens perfectly... I can press the <CH+>> button a few times, and indeed, my TV turns off.
Now, onto Step 6: "Test that the remote control is programmed for your TV"..... can't get Mute, A/V, other keys to activate /. be recognized - even though I'm followijng "press and hold that key. Release it as soon as it works"
Does anyone have a working code for Sceptre TV's ??? The Verizon '335' code doesn't work for me.
I need the 'best code' anyone has found that works with new Sceptre TV's.... the 335 code that VZ recommends... no worky.

Turn on your TV and the FiOS TV Set-Top Box.
Make sure you can see live TV.
Press and hold the OK and FiOS TV buttons together then release both buttons.
The red LED light blinks 2 times and then stays on.
Press and hold the Play button.
The remote control tries a new TV code every second.
The red LED light blinks each time a new code is sent.
When the TV turns off, release the Play button immediately.
NOTE: Some TVs may respond slower than others. If necessary, you can press the Ch+ and Ch- buttons to go forward or backward one TV code at a time.
Test your remote to ensure it is working properly:
- Turn on the TV by pressing the TV button on your FiOS TV remote.
- Press the Vol+ and Vol- buttons to ensure that you can control the volume.
- Press the Mute and A/V buttons to ensure they work.
If any of these buttons do not work, press and hold that button. Release the button as soon as it works.
If all the buttons work, press OK to this TV remote code.
The red LED light blinks 3 times and then turns off. Your remote control is now programmed.

Airtunes Remote Control

I'm not sure if this is the right place for the type of question but I'll post it here hoping someone has an idea.
Basically I have an imac that stores all my music and I stream the music from my mac to my stereo in another room using airport express, however I'm looking for a remote control device that can choose the music from the imac without having to physically walk into the computer to change a track, I think the keyspan express remote is very limited with no lcd display, I was hoping to get a device that you can actually browse your artists and pick songs from the remote control.

2. Connect your iPod with your computer via the universal dock - does it work?

Stundent Project- Remote Controlled Microphone Stand

Hey guys i am working on a student project which involves putting
together a business plan for a product. the product i have chosen is a
Remote controlled microphone stand for sound recording facilities. If
anyone has any ideas on what i might use to put something like this
together snd how much it would cost please share them.
Basically the stand will have two moving parts, the height of the
centrepiece, and the microphone clip which is at the end of an arm.
This ideally would be hinged on a ball and socket. but thats about it.

Ali is absolutely right in recommending stepper motors. They are usually the best (also the cheapest) means of motion and position control. However, in order for the stepper to maintain position (i am assuming that you would need it to) it needs to be energized the whole time. This could possibly be circumvented by having the user clamp down the position after it is set automatically. I can think of many ways in which this can be done (manually or programmatically) and I would be happy to explain if you want me to.

Also, in order to convert the rotational motion of the motors to linear motion, you need a "linear stage". You would need a really small stage, the likes of which are used in benchtop microscopes. Look at this website for such products - http://www.mechatronictechniques.com/products. To perform this translation from rotational to linear motion, stages use the principle of a "ball screw". Capturing events from a bluetooth remote control

I purchased a Fujitsu Remote Control RC900 and installed it on my Windows 7 computer.
Now I try to capture the remote control key events in a Java application.
I can catch some events as keyboard events (such as "Enter" or arrow keys) but for many keys I have not found a way to catch any event.
Still, some media applications can recognize the events.
I also tried listening mouse events with this swing tutorial class

But no success. Any ideas?

In short - never listen to low-level events from editorComponents (low-level meaning everything below - and most of the time including - a editingStopped/editingCancelled of the cellEditor). Your problem belongs to the model realm - save if a cell value is changed - so solve it in the model realm by listening to event from the tableModel and trigger your business logic when you detect a change in that particular cell value.

Hi, I somehow lost the remote control hand unit for my DDTS-100. Can I order a new one? The unit is buried deep inside a low-to-the-ground cabinet, and I can't reach the buttons.

If you leave the speakers idle, they will consume very little power. The only way to figure out how much would be to use a multimeter or an "amp clamp" to figure out how much current the speakers draw.
If the speakers consumed much power when idle, they'd be making noise when you aren't doing anything to them.
