Remote cursor is offset in console window

I have created a new vm (para virtualised OEL5 Update 1) and when I access it through the console I get an interesting effect where the remote cursor is offset from the local cursor. The offset is not constant and it appears to be some form of scaling problem (the offset decreases as I get to the edge of the screen).
It doesn't matter if I use the console provided through the management interface or if I connect with a RealVNC or tightVNC client the problem persists - has anyone seen this behaviour?
Tim

I found out that you can actually connect to the console through a stand alone VNC viewer. I installed Tight VPN, and when I try to connect to the console, I used the address plus a port number, for example 192.168.200.16:5900, rather than IP address only. You can find out what the port number is when you connect through web browser. This works better than the Java based VNC viewer.

  • CF 7 - W2K3 - Console window open

    Hi Everyone,
I upgraded the memory on my server last night and noticed
that when I plugged in a monitor to the system and logged in there
is a JRun console window open. When I RDP from remote its not
there. Is this normal for MX7 or is it in a debug mode or something
like that? I am trying to chase down performance issues with page
rendering and was wondering if perhaps the server is in some sort
    of debug mode.
I am using Flash Forms heavily and some of the pages are
quite sluggish when loading. It is hard for me to determine if the
performance issue is due to the recompilation of Flash Forms or if
the server is in some sort of debug mode which may be slowing it
    down.
Please let me know your thoughts and thank you in advance
    for your assistance!
    Take Care,
    Ed

Check the Macromedia ColdFusion Server service and make sure
    "interact with desktop" is unchecked.
You wouldn't see this window when you RDP in because that is
a virtual session, seperate from the console.
You might also want to make sure someone isn't starting the
service manually using the jrun.exe command.

  • Office 2013 windows 'pop-under' when run as remote apps on Server 2008R2 from Windows 7 clients

We have an environment with Windows 7 clients running Office 2013 via RDS on Windows Server 2008R2.
When users double click emails from Outlook, they 'pop-under', forcing the user to relocate the window which has fallen behind the application's primary window, leaving behind a slight redraw of what is supposed to be the pop-up window. Users also experience
difficulty opening application menu/help items and any other dialogue boxes in any/all of the other Office 2013 apps we've deployed via RDS.
This issue persists only on Win7 PCs (WinXP does not exhibit this behaviour). The RDP clients range from 6.2.92 to 6.1.7601

    Hi,
Please give the new Remote Desktop Client 8.1 for Windows 7 a try when it is re-released (it was removed temporarily due to an issue with smart cards).  It has fixes related to z-order issues, which
may correct the problem you are seeing.

  • Qosmio G30 - Media center remote control doesn't work in windows

    Dear All,
    I have Qosmio G30-194,
first i had a problem with the VGA , i send it for repair, when it comes back i noticed that the remote control is not working on windows Media Center, while in A/V mode it work perfectly.
I tried to do full system restore from the recovery DVD, but nothing changed, even i installed Windows Vista with all of its drivers.
Nothing changed also, I borrowed a USB IR received for another remote control it worked perfectly with my remote on windows.
Please advise me what to do, do i send it back to the service center , or there is an easier solution.

N.B, : My laptop info are:
    Model Number PQG32E-01P018AR
    Thank you in advance

don't expect toshiba to fix problems like this.
they replaced motherboard on my laptop and ever since the remote was not working.. it would turn the laptop on but was unresponsive thereafter. thing's we have tried:
    - install software and drivers for remote again
    - reinstall windows
    - replace reciever
    - change motherboard
    - change remote
    - terminate and restart relevant processes
    - downgrade bios
    - update bios
    - combinations of the above
on several occassions Toshiba told me they were able to replicate and solve the problem but after trying it on my laptop they remembered that actually their one was slightly different.
almost a year later, i still have a non-working remote
my theory is the laptop leaves factory with certain software which Toshiba fail to include in recovery partition and\or bios that is available through them... so once you lose the factory components (i.e.the original motherboard) you also lose some necessary files with them.

  • Input a string and assign to a variable in the console window

i'm absolutely and completely new to java
i need to be able to input a string and then assign it to a variable, entirely using the console window, basically i'm looking for the Java alternative to C++'s "cin"
i've tried the System.in. method but nothing seems to work
i know this should be simple, but i cant find it anywhere
    cheers

i've tried the System.in. method That thing is not a method: it's an object, an intstantiation of the InputStream
class. If you read the API documentation for that class you'll notice that it
isn't much more sophisticated than C's file IO. You can wrap an
object if this class in a more high level class (see InputStreamReader
    and BufferedReader).
The latter allows you to read an entire line of characters. If you really want
to go fancy you can wrap the first class in a Scanner which is only
    available in Java 1.5

That'll pop up another consoleI'm under the impression that the console window he is seeing is the one which cmd.exe opens when it is executing the batch file. And that batch file won't return until the java process has completed because he didn't start it in the background to let the batch file continue and terminate.
So I don't think just simply substituting java with javaw will do much good either. Still think he needs a "start" command in that batch file.
    So now he can try:
    start java -jar ...
    or
    start javaw -jar ...Fair point

Can i install windows 7 via bootcamp (on my MB Air) while using remote disc? I put the windows 7 disk in my macbook pro drive, and connect to my brand new macbook air via remote disk. In bootcamp (on my air) i allocate the partition, then i click install, and bootcamp will not see the disk from my macbook pro's drive. How do i get the bootcamp assistant running on my MB air to automatically find the disk in my macbook pro with the ISO image of windows 7? The remote disk on my air can find the cd but bootcamp will not begin installing it. Anyway to do this without buying the damned usb drive?

I don't know first hand if you can use the Remote Disk option with Windows but as of 10.7.2 you can now use BCAssistant to make a bootable USB (thumb drive or external disk) W7 installer with the Boot Camp drivers installed also. Have you tried that yet?

  • Console window doesn't show on second start of java.exe

I am building restart capability into my product.
When the product is started for the first time, it is started through a Windows EXE using a ShellExecuteEx method. I simply launch "java.exe" with my classpath, etc. My Windows console window shows up and I am happy.
When a do a restart of the app, I am inside of the original JVM. I have access to the exact same commandline that I used in the EXE to launch "java.exe" originally.
With the restart, I simply call Runtime.getRuntime().exec(commandline) and pass in the exact same commandline that I passed in when I did this in the EXE. However, when I do this from within the JVM, I do not get my Windows console window. This is not good.
Does anybody understandn what is going on here and how I can remedy this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure what is happening in your case.
Do the images initially show in "Tools > Page Info > Media" or is that always with size 0px?
Quote: ''but if i click on same link second time than size gets right and image is shown under preview box.''
Is that with clicking on the web page?
Can you load the images via the links that you see in "Tools > Page Info > Media" without any problems?
Do you see the request for those images in the Network tab in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) and what is the server response in that case?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance

  • Console window is not showing

    Hi fellows,
Today I found a problem with my built in console in Mac OS X Mavericks.
The problem happens randomly. I'll explain it in steps.
    1. Click on the console icon - the console opens.
    2. From the menu - Console/Quit Console - the console closes.
    3. Click on the console icon - the console starts - but no window is displayed. There is mark under the icon, showing the the program is active, the top menus are present, but no window is displayed.
    4. After several quits and restarts at some point the console window reapers and there is log message in the sys.log saying:

How can I fix the console and make it to appear every time I start the application?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
    Kind Regards,
    Nick

    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Console.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

  • Unable to open a seperate java console window with javascript:window.open()

    Hi All,
I am opening a new window using javascript:window.open() function by clicking an hyperlink in a html document. In this new windows I am trying to load an applet. Only for the first time a java console window is displayed in windows system tray . How can I open a different java console window each time I open a new window ? Basically I want to run each applet in its own JVM and it seems that each applet loaded in new window is using the same JVM and hence only one java console window is seen in my system tray.
    Please help ...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi.

We are currently facing this exact issue. Did you ever find a resolution?

  • How can I disable the console window shown by JWS on the client machine

    Hi,
When I open the JWS Application Manager, and go to File ->Preferences -> Advanced tab and select Show Java Console, it opens up a small window displaying all the error messages. I want that when a client downloads my JNLP application and selects this option he is not able to see the console window. How can I achieve this?
    Thanks,

You can check on the <b>about:config</b> page if the browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled pref is set to false if you want to disable the location bar drop down list.

stop that, or how can i capture what is written on the console before it disappears (so that I can troubleshoot it)?
    I use as x64-bit Windows 8 pro Lenovo T430s.
    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks Andre,
I ran ProcMon and went to the ProcessTree window, but could not find any cmd.exe there (and hence could not see the commandline). (I also watched the video about ProcMon).
The closest I could find in the ProcessTree window was conhost.exe, with commandline showing:
    \??\C:\windows\system32\conhost.exe 0x4
I saved the capture trace, at:
    http://sdrv.ms/14Dfvjs
Do you see any other leads in there that I could work on?
In the result column, I noticed some "buffer overflow" and "name not found", many associated with "tunmgr.exe" the Blackberry Link Communications Manager.
I also noticed that in the ProcessTree Window, the only two process lines with an End Time are tunmgr.exe and conhost.exe.
    the respective command lines are:
    for tunmgr.exe:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Tunnel Manager\tunmgr.exe" -Embedding"
    for conhost.exe:
    \??\C:\Windows\system32\conhost.exe 0xffffffff
     - could that be it?
If so, how could one fix that ?

  • Solaris 9 Install Fails at Console Window

I am attempting to install Solaris 9 on an Ultra 10.
Ran boot cdrom from OK prompt, using the install directory.
Got to the selection of language fine, (selected English)
CDE started up, and then got a console window.
It displays the standard install stuff, up to the first prompt:
    Can c0t2d0s1 be used ...
The mouse does not respond, and I can not change focus to the console window. I have tried ALT-Tab, ALT-ESC, F10, ALT-Up arrow, ALT-Down arrow, and many more keyboard combinations.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Craig

i want to report I found my problem. I had checked the mouse cable to the keyboard, and it was fine. Today I checked the cable from the keyboard to the box, and the center pin was pushed in.
Pulled it out and now the mouse responds.
Bad troubleshooting on my part, eh?
