Remote Dialtone - Point-to-Point SPA3102?

Hi.  I'd like to be able to have remote dialtone from my house
in CT, in my vacation home in ME.  Basically, when I am up in Maine, I'd like my CT line to ring in Maine.  Can I do this with two
SPA3102 -- or something else Cisco has that may be more current?  I have the bandwidth in both places and I'm not looking to use an SP in between.  Ideally, I'd be able to do multiple lines as I have three lines here -- but I don't have $1000 for a PBX.  Anyone have any ideas here?

iTunes match is for music and music video only.

  • SCCM 2012: Reinstall remote distribution point?

    Hi,
We have a remote distribution point to which we can't deploy packages anymore. Several attempts to repair it failed.
I'd like to remove the distribution point and reinstall it via SCCM 2012 console.
However, I'd like to know the impact since it contains GB of packages already.
Note: the DP has been removed for clients (temorarely) so no impatc there.
    My questions:
-what is best practises: can I just remove and add it in 1 go (or need to wait before re-adding, reboot needed in between)?
-will all data be pulled in again (I activated pull and would reactivate it after reinstall)?
-what's your experience in this procedure? does it work in general or is it preferrable I continue troubleshooting the current situation?
    Please advise.

  • Why doesn't my iTunes Remote App point to my iCloud content?  Why does it have to point to my iTunes content on my PC?

    Hi,
I just set up a 3rd-gen Apple TV.  W/ iTunes Match & Home Sharing, I'm able to play my songs or TV shows on my TV.
Then, I installed the Apple Remote app on my iPad.  It points to my Apple TV but then can displays & plays only the songs, not the TV shows.
When I fire up iTunes on my PC, I can point the Remote app to my iTunes library on my PC, which includes both songs & TV shows.  When I close or turn off the PC, then I lose the pointer.
    Questions:
    (1) Why can't I just point the Remote app to iCloud/iTunes Match - and access ALL my content (i.e., both songs & TV shows)?  Why do I need to point to my local PC to access all content?
    (2) Is it that iCloud/iTunes Match store only songs & not TV shows/other content?  Is that why I need to point to a local machine to access TV shows?
    Let me know -

iTunes match is for music and music video only.

  • Remote Distribution Points for Software Update Point Site

    Hi,
I have deployed Primary Site MP (SCCM 2012 R2) in the Main Office. In our environment, we have many remote offices with limited internet connection.
Is it best to setup Secondary Site in those remote offices or setup Distribution Points? What are the considerations?
    Thanks.
    ~Andre

You only install one SUP. You can't install a SUP on DP's, and you don't need to install WSUS on DP's either, just IIS.
The clients will need to connect to the SUP (port 8530) to get the windows update catalogue. If they can't connect to your MP and SUP directly, then you will need to check your proxy configuration on the clients
Once the client has performed a scan, it will then match what it determines are "required updates" against what you have deployed in its client policy.
The client then connects to the local DP to download the updates and install them.
The client only downloads policy from an MP. If you have a DP on the same server as the MP then clients may try to download updates if you don't have your content boundaries configured correctly, and have also allowed them to use a fallback location.
To prevent clients going over the WAN to download the updates, check your update deployment under the "Download Settings" tab and choose "Do not install software updates" on both the options, and make sure you have your content location
boundaries configured correctly with the DP at each remote site assigned to the correct boundary.

  • "Failed to connect to remote distribution point" on local machine

I have a new System Center 2012 R2 setup. I only have a single server with Configuration Manager, SQL, and Distribution Point all on the same machine.
The Configuration Manager Client Package is failing to load to the distribution point.

  • OSD: prestaged image does not distribute to remote distribution point

    Hi,
We have an SCCM 2012 with 2 distribution points: a virtual (the sccm server) and a physical (a pure distribution point). Once and a while we have issues with deploying packages to the physical dp but clearing it and redistirbuting solves the issue.
Now we have a big OS image (15 GB) which does not want to deploy to the physical distribution point at all.
The status stays "in progress" since this morning 11 AM (+/- 8 hours ago). Other packages distribute also slowly but fine.
Distmgr.log shows only logs from end of March this year and then stopped logging anything so I don't have a clue what is going wrong.
    Please advise.

  • SCEP 2012 R2 - Remote Distribution Point

Can I set up a SCEP 2012 web site or portal located in my DMZ that my remote users can connect to if their definition files are out of date.
I would like the portal to be made accessible so that updates can be applied by the end user manually when there AV is out of date and they can not connect to services because of the out of date files.

Apologies Jeff - The following two options look good
Updates distributed from Microsoft Update – This method allows computers to connect directly to Microsoft Update in order to download definition and engine updates. This method can be useful for computers that are not often connected to the business
    network.
Updates distributed from Microsoft Malware Protection Center – This method will download definition updates from the Microsoft Malware Protection Center.
Looking at them though there looks like to  much for a user to do  - We all know what users are like. I want something more like this to be hosted so once advised the AV files are out of data by the gateway devices the user is redirected to a page
that will present a screen like the extract below and then all user has to do is click "update"

  • Remote mouse pointer control of "caps lock"?

I control my office computer from home. Unfortunately, I have apparently left the "caps lock" key depressed. Thus, any work on my office computer, like emails I wish to compose, is in caps. Can the caps lock key be remotely deactivated somehow? I do have full control of the computer's cursor. I'll be back in the office in two days, but I am attempting to handle this easily from home! That machine is running 10.2.8

Welcome to the forums , Salty Bill.
WoW plus Firefox, especially if FF is trying to access any "Flash" based web sites, can place a heavy load on both the CPU and RAM.
I've seen Firefox alone get up towards 100% CPU usage on some Flash based sites. WoW is no slouch either when it comes to CPU useage.
Some more RAM might help, but as you have a CoreDuo model you can only go to a maximum of 2 Gig.
Remember that running with the battery out actually REDUCES the speed of your CPU - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2332 This is making it even harder for your computer to cope with both processes running simultaneously.
Your HD free space is right down to the bare minimum that is safe to use - even beyond it, in fact. The free space is likely to be very fragmented, making it hard for the computer to make effective use of the drive for virtual memory (which it will need , given your lack of the "real" stuff) and slowing it down substantially. The absolute minimum you should operate with is about 10% of HD space, but when running things that place a heavy load on the computer, or if you regularly write large files, etc, you will start to notice slow downs long before you get to this level - at least 20% free is a good recipe for healthy operation. You could improve your current situation a little by freeing up some more room cloning the drive to an external drive, wiping the internal, and then cloning back, but even this will only help for a while. You really need a larger hard drive by the sound of it, and getting one will certainly improve your performance and stability. It is likely that your freezes especially are directly related to this problem.
You probably don't want to hear this but given your usage you might want to think about whether it would really be better to save the money and invest in a newer, faster, MBP with more RAM. By the sound of it you are working right on the limit of the capabilities of the one you have at present, unfortunately.
    Cheers
    Rod.

  • WLC 5508 and remote site (DMVPN) Access Points

    Hi All,
We just purchased a WLC 5508 and would like to know if it will control remote VPN site Access Points.  Here are the details:
The 5508 will live at our home office.  We have multiple remote sites that are connected via Cisco's DMVPN.  Each site has one Cisco 1131 Access Point hanging off of either a Cisco 1841 or a 2811 that is using DMVPN back to the home office 2811.  Can the 5508 manage the remote Access Points?
    Thanks for your help guys!

  • CAS Array and DAG Site Resiliency (2 Remote Sites via Point to Point Protocol)

Hi, we are planning to deploy Exchange HA and Site Resiliency but i had some troubles understanding some concepts.
    Out current configurations settings:
    Datacenter A:
    1 MB/CAS/HT (MB01)
    1 CAS (CAS01)
1 Point to Point link between Datacenter A and Datacenter B (We create a VLAN in the remote datacenter pointing to the Active Directory site where our Exchange server is).
1 Active Directory Site with 2 Domain controllers (with VLAN 192.1.3.x in Datacenter A and VLAN 192.1.20.x in Datacenter B)
    Datacenter B:
We want to install a new Exchange CAS Server (CAS02) in VLAN 192.1.20.x, is it posible to create a CAS Array with this configuration considering the replication network for the cluster in the MS Windows Server NLB, so that our Virtual IP of the cluster points
to 192.1.3.x VLAN? What are the network considerations to the replication and MAPI network between VLANs? Does we need some third party NLB or this could be achieved with MWS2008R2?
Same configuration for the DAG, with a new server (MB02) just for the MB role. The idea is to remove the CAS role from MB01 and have 2 Exchange Mailbox servers members of the DAG and 2 Exchange CAS Servers members of the CAS Array, so in case of a disaster
in Datacenter A our clients automatically failover to Datacenter B in this case all of our clients will be pointing to the CAS Array in their Outlook.
Hope you can help me with this, i don't know if this is possible with our actual infraestructure.
    Best Regards,
    Gerardo

    Thanks Ed,
So in that case we will need at least 4 servers in Datacenter A (2 MB members of DAG and 2 CAS/HUB members of the CAS Array) to get a decent HA solution, Am I correct?
What about the other server in Datacenter B for DR, it will be a passive node or just another multirole server. So in case of DR (Let's say our Datacenter A is totally wrecked) I will need to switchover manually with my DB backups and switchover the user
mailbox and outlook clients to point to the DR server? I didn´t get the point of the DR server in Datacenter B, can you explain a little bit more?
I'm totally agree with you about the false positive failovers because our network doesn't meet that requeriments at all.
Hope you can help me to clear my mind.
    Best Regards,
    Gerardo

  • Calling back with empty distribution points list : Local DP vs Remote DP

    Hi all,
I am an issue getting remote offices to pull packages (A task sequence) from their onsite DP. They keep pulling from the main DP in the datacenter.
How do I ensure the mainDP is not considured 'LOCAL' but it is 'REMOTE' and the local office DP is 'LOCAL'?
    Here is my setup:
SCCM 2012 with DP / MP set in Datacenter: mainDP
3 Offices up the country with local DP Server: OfficeDP1 / OfficeDP2 / OfficeDP3 (green under monitoring and my packages show as verified content)
SCCM Boundaries set via "AD Site". This matches our AD Structure. In AD Sites and Services, each site has a unique IPv4 addressing (AD Address Prefix: Office1 - 192.168.100.0/25 & Office 2 - 192.168.101.0/25 etc)
Each SCCM Boundary has a boundary group that reflects the local office
The locationservices file on an office PC has:
Current AD Site of machine is Office1
Calling back with the following distribution points
    Distribution Point='http://mainDP/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/PR10005D', Locality='LOCAL', DPType='SERVER', Version='7804', Capabilities='<Capabilities SchemaVersion="1.0"><Property Name="SSLState" Value="0"/></Capabilities>',

I would expect it to say http://Office1DP/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/PR10005D

This may not be the answer you're looking for since you're doing boundaries differently.
This is how I have it setup and it works perfect.
    1)  Do ip ranges for all boundaries
    2)  Assign each boundary to a boundary group
    3)  Add the remote dp as the site server in the boundary group
    4)  Also make sure the main local dp also has a boundary group with all the ip ranges that don't have a remote dp.
I believe when you download something from software center, you can check the following log to see what download locations it finds.
    C:\Windows\CCM\Logs\CAS.log

  • Apple TV 2G (Airplay and Homesharing) can only stream from devices on the same wireless access point range??

    connection:
40 Mbps Fiber Broadband connection using:
    Devices:
    1. Main Modem/router (AP1): Huawei HG8245 (provided by ISP) - Wireless enabled.
    2. Remote Access point (AP2): Linksys/Cisco E3200 Wireless gigabyte router flashed with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/14/11) mini (Cascaded -wired- LAN to LAN from main modem).
    3. Wireless Repeater to cover a dead spot  (AP3): Linksys/Cisco E1000 wireless repeater.
    4. Apple Tv (AT2G) with home sharing/airplay enabled.
5.( Ipad) with home sharing on itunes enabled.
    6. Win7 (PC) using iTunes with Home sharing enabled.
all devices are updated to their latest firmware.
In order to cover a large 3 story house with Wifi. I had (AP1) is located on the first floor, while (AP2) is located in the basement floor directly wired by LAN to LAN with (AP1). (AP3) is located on the Ground floor away from the living room to repeat wireless network into the back yard. While (AT2G) is located in the living room on the ground floor right in the middle of both (AP1) + (AP2) while connected via Wifi.
Network SSID, security, passphrase and wireless settings of (AP2) are identical to (AP1) to create a single big LAN/WLAN roaming network where all devices connected to both wireless access points can find/share the others. As understood, it's refered to as bridging.
I have noticed that my iphone/ipad does not show the airplay button anywhere within the wireless network. it seems that the apple TV randomly choses to connect to the AP with stronger signal, or switch to the other in case of a reboot to one of them.
to elaborate further, if i was sitting in the living room (groundfloor), trying to airplay some you tube contents via Wifi to my Apple TV, i may not find the airplay button available all the time, i found out the reason is while i'm wirelessly connected to AP1, the Apple TV was connected to AP2 and both deviced cannot detect each others to enable my purpose. that goes the same for Home Sharing. only if my Ipad/PC and Apple Tv are on the same wireless AP. they would detect each others immediately.
although, the second AP (AP2) is suppose to extend my wireless network of the same subnet in which any device connected can be found.
After all sorts of trial and error tweaking my router/access point, I thought the problem would be due to the Linksys 3200 capability of bridging WLAN and lacks few protocols that enables my purpose. i have flashed the firmware to a DD-WRT, but again, problem was not solved.
I have not tried having my Apple Tv wired to either router/AP, but i assume it may work well if i do so. i still need to solve this wireless connection issue though.
Am i the only one with this problem, would there be something wrong with my setup?
    Your feedback is highly appreciated.

You may or may not already have your network set up correctly, it's just that I can't tell from what you have said.
I have a main router provided by my ISP, I have several other Airport Extremes and Airport expresses connected by Ethernet, all set up to bridge the network created by the main router.
Each maker has their own settings, but bridging should be reasonably obvious. In simple terms my main router distributes IP addresses to all devices, the Airports bridge that network by passing these addresses to the devices from the main router. A base station that isn't in bridging mode will distribute its own addresses to the devices connected to it.
I don't really follow your next point.
instruction for configuration vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, the best course of action here is to refer to the manual. If everything is set up properly the addresses of everything on your network will have identical sets of numbers for the first 3 of 4 groups of numbers that make up an address, the last set must always be different. I think the part you are referring to with your DD-WRT is the option to have Ethernet and wifi bridged or not.
Some routers may be easier to configure than others, but generally speaking they should all work with the Apple TV. 5Ghz is less likely to suffer interference but it is much more likely to be blocked by solid objects, it may or may not be an advantage.

  • SCCM 2012 Distribution Point Issue

    Dear Team,
Hi, we deploy another Distribution point on other server on same subnet/LAN. but it show errors and progress run daily but not successful.
    durranifaisal

Hi, did have some issues before when installing remote distribution points. More about that can be found here:
    http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.nl/2014/07/installing-remote-distribution-point.html
It mentions: I did choose "Install and configure II if required by Configuration Manager" during installation, but IIS was installed already on servers. I did install BITS on servers also, because this seems to be needed (installation can be failing
otherwise). Strange thing, because BITS is no prerequisite at all? What I did NOT however is installing RDC as a prerequisite. Therefore files couldn't be replicated after all.
The issue described above where you can only add 2 roles is not known to me. Maybe server must be restarted or prerequisites are not in place? Like to hear the answer as well..
