Remote Domain Join Error - no endpoint listening at CertWebservice.svc
I am trying to remotely connect a windows 8.1 client to a Windows Server 2012 Essentials domain. I do this by navigating to:
https://remote.mydomainname.com/connect/
The connector downloads and starts fine but after user authentication, fails with the following error in the log file:

Hi Bob,
Sorry for my delay.
Based on your description, I understand that you have verified port 65500 was opened on server. Meanwhile,
be unable to browse https://acesrv01:65500/CertWebservice.svc
on client. If I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Based on current situation, please check Windows Firewall profile. Windows Firewall profile may block access
to the CertWebservice.svc website. Please disabled Windows Firewall profile on server and then monitor the result.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Justin Gu

Hi
I am developing SSRS reports, suddenly now I am getting this error when I try to preview a report in the VS 2010 shell:
"This is a designer preview error, "There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessngServcie11108/ReportProcessng that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerExcelption,
if present, for more details. The pipe endpoint 'net.pipe://localhost/PreviewProcessing11108/ReportProcessing' could not be found on your local machine"
The error has come out of the blue, reports which I used to be able to preview, I can't preview anymore.
Anybody knows what to do to make it work again?I tried to apply Mike Yin' answer on this thread
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/38ff8d54-06aa-40c3-8916-378d5185320e/report-designer-preview-in-ssdt-throws-up-a-end-point-not-found-error?forum=sqlreportingservices
Suggestion 1:
Press WinKey+R , input “services.msc” in the Run box, and press enter.
In the local services list, find the “Net.Pipe Listener Adapter”.
If it is stopped, start it. If it is started, restart it.
I found that “Net.Pipe Listener Adapter” was not enabled, so I enabled it and started/restarted it. Now it works again :) -
What all network port are required for join a machine in Domain. One of my server is not able to join the Domain. Please let me know what all port i have to opened to this server side.
Nirmal Singh IT AdministratorIf, you are not sure whether port is opened or not or some port is filtered, you can use portquery tool. For AD port requirements, see the below link.

No endpoint listening at.. after enpoint change
I have a Windows forms application in VB 2010 where I have add a service-reference to a 3th party. When I run this application all is ok.
But I need to change the adress of the servicereference (once for each installation). I make runtime a new endpoint and create the cliënt. When I use a client function, I get the error No endpoint listening at.....
Dim lNewEP As EndpointAddressBuilder = New EndpointAddressBuilder()
lNewEP.Uri = New Uri("http://localhost:8085/DemoArt/KingWebservices")
client = New KWS.KingWebservicesSoapPortClient("KingWebservicesSoap", lNewEP.ToEndpointAddress)
client.Open()
Dim lKwsPrt As KWS.KingWebservicesSoapPort = pClient
Dim response As KWS.DebiteurToevoegenResponse = lKwsPrt.DebiteurToevoegen(request)
on the last row I get the error
I'm sure the adress is ok (I can open it in explorer)
How can I change the adress of a servicereference?Hi,
For this situation, most of the times that error means that either you are not making the request to the right URI or the service is not just started listening. Please check the URI being used by the client and server.
For changing Configure Service Reference, you could refer to:

Hi,
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain join displays error "Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed...."
DC:windows Server 2008 R2
Domain functional level:Windows Server 2003
When Winxp join domain, have no this error message.
I checked http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2018583?wa=wsignin1.0 does't work.
There have 3 suggestion in this article:
1.The "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" checkbox has been disabled in the IPv4 properties of the computer being joined.
Doesnt's work.
2.Connectivity over UDP port 137 is blocked between client and the helper DC servicing the join operation in the target domain.
On my DC, I run netstat -an, reslut as below:
UDP 192.168.20.3:137 *:*
3.The TCP/IPv4 protocol has been disabled so that the client being joined or the DC in the destination domain targeted by the LDAP BIND is running TCP/IPv6 only.
We are not using IPV6.
This server recently updated from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. Before upgrade, when Win7 and Win2008 join this domain, also have the same error message.
Please help to check this issue.
Thank you very much.

Guo YingHuiHi Guo Ying,
I have faced this critical error which makes over-writes the host names in the domain when you join.
For example: Already you had a host name called as PC.domain.com in the domain.com Domain.
When you try to add the another host name called as PC in the domain.com Domain, it doesn't give you the duplicate name error on the network it does over-write the existing host name called as PC.domain.com & it will add the new host name into the domain.
Host name which got over-written will get removed from the domain. I faced this issue in my project. My DPM host name got removed from the Domain & new host name got joined into the domain which halted my backups for one day.
Final Resolution is as follows:
You need to start the dns console on the DC & drop down the domain name.
Select the _msdcs when you click on _msdcs it will show the Name Server's list on the right hand side.
You need to add the Domain Naming Master under the _msdcs or add all the domain controllers which you had.
After you add the Name server's try joining the PC OR Laptop to the domain which is successfully joins it.

Restrict Outlook Access Only To Domain Joined PCs?
We have contractors that use their employers laptops to access various LAN resources on our network such as access to shared network drives, printers, Remote Desktop and access to our Intranet sites. They have mailboxes on our Exchange servers and
we would like their mailbox access to be restricted to EAS and OWA, not Outlook unless they are using one of our domain-joined computers.
The main reason for this is to restrict these users from downloading their mailbox contents into into a personal folder. We can create PST restrictions on our domain-joined PCs via group policy, but these policies would not apply to computers not joined
to our domain.
Of course we would also like to prevent Outlook access to their mail from their home PCs that they may have installed Outlook on, but we still need seamless remote access to Outlook on domain-joined laptops used remotely.
How can this be done?PS -- Andy are you going to MEC ?
Cheers,
Rhoderick

Problems connecting a non-domain joined outlook to exchange
Hello,
i'm having issues configuring outlook (be it 2007, 2010 or 2013 all fail the same) on non-domain joined computers in the LAN to a exchange 2013 server.
I select manual config, in server we put "mail.domain.local" and user "domain\user" and it bounces with "cannot complete action, the connection to exchange is not available, outlook must be online".
We tried with external full email address, nothing
tried setting the outlook anywhere proxy, same, tried using ip address, same
it simply refuses to configure.
any ideaS?Hi,
Generally, the external non-domain joined computers can connect to Exchange 2013 by using Outlook Anywhere and the Autodiscover service to auto-setup the Exchange account.
If the auto-setup for Exchange account fails, please check the Autodiscover service and Outlook Anywhere configuration by the following command:
Get-OutlookAnywhere | FL
Directly access the following URL in IE respectively, and check whether an Error 600 returns:
Https://mail.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
Please make sure the the ExternalHostName parameter for Outlook Anywhere is configured to your external namespace for Exchange 2013 (for example: mail.domain.com).
In Exchange certificate, please make sure the namespace mail.domain.com is included in your trusted certificate which is assigned with IIS service.
For manual Exchange account setup, please run the following command to get the mailbox GUID for server name configuration:
Get-Mailbox UserA | FL Identity,ExchangeGuid
Then go to Control Pane > Mail to configure the Outlook profile. In Server Settings, import the [email protected] into the Server box and click Check Name to have a try.

Sideloading on domain joined Windows 8.1 Professional Update Tablets
Hi folks,
first, I want to apologize for my bad English. I'm out of practice since several years and Google Translator is not the best assistance.
We are developing a Windows 8 LOB App for our customer. This App shall only be available for the employees of this customer. Therefore, releasing the App in the Windows Store is not an option.
As far as I understand the announcements by Microsoft, it is now possible to sideload Windows Store Apps on devices where Windows 8.1 Pro Update is installed. The requirements are the app has to be signed, the group policy "Allow all trusted apps to install"
has to be enabled and the devices must be part of a domain. A sideloading key is not required anymore.
At the moment I try to sideload an app to an Windows 8.1 Pro lenovo tablet. The System is up to date and the device is part of an AD-Domain.
To sideload the app, I've done the following:
-> First I deleted the developer license from my testing device.
-> Then I've created a code signing certificate with mkcert and Pvk2Pfx according to.
-> Creating and signing the App package with Visual Studio 2013 worked without problems.
-> I activated the local GP "Allow all trusted apps to install" and installed the certificate under the local machine\Trusted Root Certification Authority certificate store.
But when I try to install the app with Add-AppPackage, the process abort with an error. The error message says, that a developer license or a sideloading key is required.
What do I wrong? Has someone managed to sideload an App to a domain joined Windows 8.1 Pro device and can give me some advice?
Many thanks in advance.
TobiasHello,
though, I have not updated this thread in the last days, I'm still not sure, whether sideloading keys are necessary to successfully sideload apps to domain joined Windows 8.1 Pro devices.
To make sure that I have got you right: Might someone confirm to me, that even for domain joined devices with Windows 8.1 Pro Update installed, sideloading keys are necessary, because these devices are only ready to, but not yet enabled for sideloading.
If no sideloading keys are necessary, is it required, for successful sideloading, that the devices are logged into the domain network and connected with the domain controller, for a successful deployment? My test device is domain joined but at the moment it
is not logged into that domain network.
Thanks.
Tobias
I'm unable to confirm myself, since I don't use Pro edition in my organisation (we use Enterprise edition because we purchased that in our agreement).
It might be possible, that the MSFT statements for Pro (does not require sideloading key), might only be functional when using the Volume Licensing channel product for Pro. i.e. maybe the OEM channel and Retail channel of Pro might not be enabled for sideloading?
It sounds like you are using an OEM or Retail channel Pro (i.e. that OS shipped on the Lenovo device).
This is my observation from your symptoms. I'm not sure how to validate that, without trying each case.
It may be necessary to raise a support call with MSFT to validate that.

I want to use SCCM 2012 R2 and OSD, to boot a bare metal machine, install and OS, and bind it to Active Directory. The catch is that I want the deployment process in SCCM to prompt for the following pieces of information, and then use that information to
bind the computer to Active Directory (W/O using MDT) instead of supply the data in the task sequence.
Computer Name
Domain
Domain OU
Domain Join Account
I am approaching this in a similar fashion as stated in this blog.
http://osdblog.com/2013/06/26/add-a-prompt-for-a-computer-name-in-your-sccm-deployment/
I have added the following collection variables to the unknown computers collection:
When I launch the task sequence, I am prompted as I would expect. I input the desired information, the deployment competes, but it does not bind to the domain. Here is what my TS looks like. I intentally disabbled the apply Network Settings step
because it forces you to enter specific information if it enabled. I don't want to that, thus why I am trying to use the variables.
My SMSTS log does not have a whole lot of meaningfull data, but I can post it if someone wants to see it. The only possible thing I could think of would be drivers, their are some driver errors in the log. However, if I turn on the Apply Networking setting
process in the task sequence and turn off the variables, the machines bind fine. With that in mind, I would not think my problem would be driver related. Anyone out there have expertise in using a process like this, that could assist?
--TonyAwesome! Thanks. One more thing, how should I supply the OSDJoinPassword variable? Should I just enter %OSDJoinPassword%
for Password and Confirm Password? I can not tell if it will actually read it as a variable or try to use "%OSDJoinPassword%" for
the actual password.

Hi All,
We are facing a issue with domain joining against RODC
We have a RODC which is separated from RWDC using firewall. The replication is configured using IPSEC and all is working fine.
The servers in RODC site do not have any connectivity to RWDC. We add the Servers in RODC site by following the script mentioned in the below link
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd728035(v=ws.10).aspx
The Servers which are in same subnet as RODC are able to join and login properly into the Domain. But the servers which are in different subnet are not able to join Domain and giving error “ Specified Domain either does not exist or cannot be contacted”
I am able to ping the RODC using IP and FQDN but not using netbios name
Nslookup works for FQDN of RODC and Domain name but fails for netbios names
I have checked the link http://blogs.technet.com/b/networking/archive/2008/07/25/netbios-browsing-across-subnets-may-fail-after-upgrading-to-windows-server-2008.aspx and as per that the browser service is started in PDC as well as in RODC
The subnet of Server is associated to RODC site
I have created a registry entry SiteName in the server and specified the RODC site
Checked at network level and nothing is blocked there
Tried creating the record for in host file but no useHi All,
We are facing a issue with domain joining against RODC
We have a RODC which is separated from RWDC using firewall. The replication is configured using IPSEC and all is working fine.
The servers in RODC site do not have any connectivity to RWDC. We add the Servers in RODC site by following the script mentioned in the below link
Firstly if you have RODC in a site, place a RWDC in that site as well OR enable
Bridge all site links. Also you need to provision the computer accounts in your RWDC, in that case the computer accounts will be replicated to the RODC and you can join. Look at RODC section here:
Offline Domain Join
Reading this link by Jorge is highly recommended:
Domain Join through an RODC instead of an RWDC
Do not forget that if your windows server are 2003 they need to have direct connectivity to the RWDC for tasks like password changing. Also for time synchronization, an RODC is authorized to sync the computers time if and only if the computer password is
cached, otherwise the computer must contact the RWDC directly.

There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp:
All,
I keep getting this message when from a client notifies another client. I verified port 9912 is open by telenet to the port. Same software work fine if I reinstall our server or install
the server on other machine. Here is the exception I got when on the net tcp call. We also verify that no firewall or antivirus software running.
THe exception message: {"There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://mycomputer_name:9912/myApplication.exe-Notification-1 that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException,
if present, for more details."
Does anyone have any suggestion on how what could cause this issue?
Thanks!Hi PeterFL,
I wonder if you have hosted the WCF net.tcp service in the IIS. By default we can not host WCF net.tcp service in the IIS, if we want to implement it, we need to do some configuration.
For more information, please try to refer to the following articles:
#Hosting in IIS using NetTcpBinding:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/james_osbornes_blog/archive/2010/12/07/hosting-in-iis-using-nettcpbinding.aspx .

#How to host WCF service with netTcpBinding or netNamedPipeBinding in IIS:
http://dotnetmentors.com/hosting-wcf-service-with-nettcpbinding-or-netnamedpipebinding-in-iis.aspx .
If you do not host the WCF net.tcp service in the IIS, please try to enable the WCF tracing to help find some detailed error information:

Hello,
I've configured 2 WTC on my WLS 8.1, witch is targed with is own server. But when i want to create a new remote domain, with a name that already use for another remote demain, i have an error.
Is it possible to assign the same remote domain to different WTC?
Can someone can help me?Can you describe in a little more detail what you are trying to do? You may be encountering a bug in the console that prevented certain name clashes that didn't really clash. Are you trying to create entries for 2 remote domains and give them the same Access Point or the same Access Point ID?
You should be able to assign the same remote domain (Remote Tuxedo Access Point) name in different WTC instances. If that is what you are trying to do and the console is complaining, just manually enter it into config.xml. The format is pretty self explanatory and you should be able to use the other copy from the other WTC instance as a model.
If this doesn't resolve your problem, please post additional details.

Todd Little
