  • IOS VPN will not respond to Cisco VPN Client connections.

    Hi all,
I am about to set my routers on fire here.
I have two 2921 ISRs both with Security licenses on separate leased lines. I have configured one to accept VPN connections from our Cisco VPN Client remote workers.
I have followed the set up process I used on another site with an 1841/Sec router and the same clients and I have also checked against the config given in the latest IOS15 EasyVPN guide.
With all debugs active, all I see is

  • Problem accessing company resources remotely using Cisco VPN Client

I connect to my company's network remotely using Cisco VPN client both from a PC (v 4.0.1) and from a MacBook Pro (v 4.9.00)(same configs), and use Remote Desktop to connect to my work computer, and now i'm able to use Citrix to run applications on the company server.
The problem occurs on the Mac when I'm connecting from a location that uses the same private domain IP as our company's private domain. Our company's private domain is 192.168.1.x, so when I'm using the Mac on a WiFi router that happens to be set to 192.168.1.1, the Mac can connect using VPN but the remote desktop cannot connect to my work computer. Presumably, the Mac doesn't "know" that I'm trying to go through the VPN for the connection and not connect to something locally.
This problem seems to be unique to the Mac. Every Windows machine with the same client installed has no problems no matter what WiFi I've tried. The Mac works fine on any WiFi that is not 192.168.1.x.
However, since 192.168.1.x is very common (hotels, airports, etc., its a major problem with the Mac.
    Suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Also, now that we're moving to Citrix, our administrator has created a webpage on the intranet that we launch applications from, but the Mac cannot find that page when connected to VPN from 192.168.1.x. Same problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I presume you have split-tunneling activated.
    1. Make sure the 192.168.1.x is on the protected networks and on the MacBook client, disable "Allow local LAN access"
    2. Create a separate group for the Mac users and assgn them a different pool (192.168.100.x )and advertise it in your company to point to the VPN Concentrator.
    3. Use the NAT feature on your VPN concentrator.
    If this helped, please rate.
    Regards,
    Daniel

  • Cannot connect to work using Nortel Vpn Client

    Hi Guys,
I have a linksys router at home and I am unable to connect to work using the Nortel VPN Client, it works intermittently.. sometimes it connects but most of the time it comes back with an error saying " Login Failure: remote host not responding"
But when i ping the FQDN of my company's vpn box I get a successfull reply,  I did a small test and connected to a random wi-fi connection near my house and after I was connected to that I was able to use my vpn client to connect and connect to work so there has to be something wrong with the linksys router settings I have.
I tried logging on to the admin page of the router by going to 192.168.1.1 and under the security tab under vpn I enabled all the protocols for thr VPN passthorough but the problem still persists.. any ideas??
    Thanks in advance

    Set the MTU to 1500
    uncheck Filter Internet Request.
turn off any third party firewall.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

You stated that you can ping ACS from the router, did you try sourcing the packets from the GigabitEthernet 0/0 interface (which is the one TACACS+ will try to use, given the configuration that you posted)?
What does the network path between the router and ACS look like (ie, any firewalls, NAT, etc)?
Can you connect to port 49 at the ACS IP address from the router sourcing the packets from GigabitEthernet 0/0 ?
    Are you using VRFs?
    What version of IOS?

  • ACC Setup Error - Remote Server not Responding in the Proper Manner - Windows 7 Pro

    Hello -
I was able to install the CC upgrades to all my software on my laptop without issue. Whenever I try to upgrade them on my desktop I recieve the attached error. I am running Windows 7 Professional. My guess this is being caused my my company's firewall however my IT director claims he set me up to bypass the firewall when trying to install this.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Tunneling using Cisco VPN Client 4.9

    Hello,
in recent times I used the Cisco VPN Client 4.7 with no problems:
    1. I installed the software
    2. I started "Internet Connect.app", created a VPN connection (PPTP) with no entries
    3. created a new network connection ("Tunnel to company"), with ETH and VPN (PPTP) enabled
    4. the ethernet interface points at the local router wich is connected to my ISP
    5. DHCP-Client-ID: our.company.de, DNS-Server: no entry, Domain-Names: our.company.de
    6. Proxies: our companies proxies
    7. the VPN (PPTP) interface is configuered as PPP, DNS-Server: our companies server IPs, Domain-Names: no entries, Proxy: no entries
    8. Starting the Cisco VPN Client I configuered an new session, connected, ok
As said, this was in the old days.
Now using Cisco VPN Client 4.9 on a MacBookPro (Intel) this works also with one exception:
I can establish a network connection (ping, smb, AFP, intranet/HTTP) only using the companies fully qualified domain name, e.g.:
    1. ping server1: unable to resolve name
    2. ping server1.our.company.de: works as exspected
I am using Cisco VPN Client 4.9.00 (0050), Mac OS X 4.8 with all available updates.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Roland

    ...
trying the same (without the "Internet Config.app" / VPN PPTP) using VPN Tracker works fine. But I don´t want to spend Euro 79.-...

  • Upgraded to Lion and now getting error 51 when trying to use Cisco VPN Client.

Mac mini with Snow Leopard not having same issue, VPN client works fine. What happened?

Try uninstalling then reinstalling the Cisco software. Cisco VPN may not be compatible with Lion. Check with them about compatibility or upgrade.

  • WRVS4400N - Logging and Email Alerts when I use a VPN client - Firmware bug?

    Hi folks -
I've got a problem with my WRVS4400N that has been dogging me for a long time now, and I'm finally fed up with the email alerts.
My wife has a VPN client for her work, on her laptop.  It is nothing fancy, normal IPSec VPN, details on it I can get if needed, but it's just VPN.
My WRVS4400N is running 1.1.03 firmware, latest on the site.  I have all VPN pass-throughs enabled.  VPN connectivity for the wife works great, no problems that I'm aware of for her functionally.
The problem is, that I have logging turned on with email alerts.  When my wife uses her VPN connection, I get flooded with alerts from the router with all sorts of goobly goo information.  It's almost like there is a bug in the router firmware that is parsing information incorrectly.
Log levels are set to 0,1,2,3.  Email alerts enabled.  DoS threshold is 50, Log Queue is 100, Log Time is 60.  SMTP information for my mail server populated of course, and Local Log enabled.
Below is a sample of the email body that gets sent.  My wife has been using her VPN connection for about 3 hours tonight, and already I've been flooded with over 1000 emails.
    Here's some body content:

Does anyone have any ideas?  This seems like a code bug to me, but how do I go about reporting to Linksys?
Of course, I can turn off email alerts, but then that defeats the purpose of the router being able to tell me when something is awry.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jesse T.

  • 6500 IOS HSRP Gateway not responding to ARP requests

WS-C6509, running Native IOS version 12.2(33)SXH4. Pair of 6500 configured with HSRP serving as Gateway to down stream clients
Ping requests from clients not having a Default Gateway (AIX Server Team recommendation) failing.
Packet capture show ARP requests being received by Gateway 6500, but Gateway will not respond for up to 30 seconds at which point ping requests will start working. But after a period of inactivity, the cycle starts over again - 30 second delay before traffic starts flowing.
Having a Default Gateway is a separate discussion. I'm just interested in being able to provide technical reason why this is occuring.
    Anyone experience this?
Any suggestions for addtional troubleshooting measures?
    Thanks in advance.

Looks to me like a timer problem - maybe a ARP timer on the clients? Check the ARP tables of your clients during your tests.

  • Mx860 won't print. printer not responding using usb cable.

MX860 was working fine.  Now any attempt to print from any pc, either wirelessly or even using high-speed USB cable results in "printer not responding" error message.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Yes my friend I am from Iraq and I work in the field of sale and maintenance of printers canon inkjet only five years ago
Now first of all clear the software for printers that are on your computer
I mean that you delete programs and printers
Now unplug all printers that you have from your computer
    Restart the computer
Now Put your installation disk in the drive
Or download the installation program for the printer from Canon site
    On the following link
    http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0100004630/01/md86-win-mx860-1_03-ea24.exe
Do not you connect the printer to ask you after the program installation so ................
After connecting the printer to complete the installation and the final outcome please tell us if you need any photo caption or any question about your information please kindly asking
Said to provide information to you

  • Using Cisco VPN client certificate for built in IPSec?

    Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to "convert" a certificate exported from Cisco VPN client and import it into the Keychain for using it with built-in IPSec in Snow Leopard?
    Thanks,
    Oli

I too am having trouble importing the Cisco certificate. It would be nice for some clear documentation. We've been successful converting the x.509 cer to KPCS#7 using openssl which will import into the keychain. However, the VPN (Cisco IPSec) sill doesn't see it.

  • Writing a file to a remote location (not KM) using WD

    Hello everyone.
I've encountred a scenario in which I need to upload an excel file to a km file and also load it into the sap system.
I've managed to upload the file to the KM Server, but not I have a new problem:
The abap function that loads the excel file into an Internal table (ASLM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE), works on a local location.
I cant supply the the function with the KM address, since the KM Server is firewalled and not every user which will work with my application will have access to it.
However, I have another server - the SAP server which has an interface which every user can access, so I've come up with an idea - I still have the inputstream of the file which I wrote to the km server, and I will write it to another server, for example - 212.101.42.21\interface\my_folder and then I will supply the abap function with this location.
Is this possible? if so, how can I use web dynpro to write to this server?
    thanks for any help,
    Eli Erenburg.

    Hi,
    Yes it will be possible.
Java Classes help you write files to servers. Have a look at:
    http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/File-Input-Output/UseNewJavaIOtowritestringintoafile.htm
You can reuse the solution inside a bean and then expose that as a web service - finally consuming it in Web Dynpro Java. It may directly be reused in WDJ as well (as part of a method) - but then again that would be a design call.
Hope that the link helps. I have used it to write local files to server.
    Thanks.
