Remote info - saving

Since I've upgraded when I close down dreamweaver I lose the
Remote Info
(login and password). Any ideas why or how to avoid please?

Upgraded to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked my info, saved passwords, etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded.

Auto fill works for me in iOS 8.3.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

Site Definition - local info, remote info confusion

Hi,
I am new to DW CS4, but doing well getting to know it.
In the Site Definition dialog, Advanced Tab:
Local Info:
Links relative to document is selected.
-- HTTP address -- I'm not quite sure which of the following to use:
http:/www.johnblaustein.com -- this is my site
http://johnblaustein.com/var/www/html/ -- this is the folder on the server that stores the site.
Remote Info -- set as follows -- which works fine to connect:
Access: FTP
FTP host: johnblaustein.com
Host directory: /var/www/html
QUESTION: On the Local Info Tab, which of the above two addresses do I use? I think I simpy use http:/www.johnblaustein.com, but I am not sure. Also, do I need the "www"?

Yes, that's kind of what I thought, but I wasn't sure. The /var folder is not visible on the web.

How to enter/edit Remote Info Settings???

I have just opened Dreamweaver CS5 for the first time and, to my dismay, I cannot find the Remote Info settings window anywhere. When I select Manage Sites, the Local section is there, but Remote is nowhere to be found. Help!

Error clears remote info

Dreamweaver sometimes says something to the tune of "index
not found in site" and then clears my remote info. Wtf?

They should look in their own tech articles. I had the same problem and this solved it:

With one caveat. The article talks about creating a shared folder in the Users folder, but I could not create it there even with Admin permissions. However, I could create it somewhere else and paste it into the users folder, the change the permissions.
Makes no sense, but seems to solve the problem!

Remote info not saved

I am using DW8. I enter the remote server username and
password. The program automatically checks the save box. I click
ok.
However, when I close DW and then open it again the server
username and password is blank.
This does not happen with all of my webs. What's up?

Site Definition issues when entering remote info in DWcs3

I am hoping someone can assist me with getting one of my new sites up and running. I am still on Dreamweaver CS3 as my hard drive at thsi time can not support hte size of CS4. I have created a new website for a friend of mine and she has provided me what information she has from her service provider, however when i enter the information and test the connection i get an error telling me an FTP error occurred. My friend is using 1&1.com, i have never heard of them before but have gotten a domain name, a directory file name, a username, and a password from them. below are picutres of the error and what i am entering to try and upload the site:
could someone or would someone be able to help me out - i would be eternally grateful!

Host Directory is the location on the server where your files will be stored.
This will not be plain text with a space as you have entered. It will be a folder name provided by the host - or it may be blank.
The FAQs at 1&1 suggests that no host directory info is required:

(Note: the above FAQ is incorrect in that it directs people to set up a remote site via New > FTP & RDS Server which is rarely the case.
The usual route is New > Site.)

Recovery of info saved to DVD's

I burned 9 Recovery Discs before I did a Recovery on my Presario CQ61-420US. I used the on board Recovery and Windows 7 Premium Home 64-bit is working again. But when I try to access the info from the Recovery discs (going to c://System Recovery Files) the program stops after about 5 minutes and gives me the following error message details:

How are you trying to access the files? You should be able to just click the folder "System Recovery Files" on C to open it and see your files, move to proper location,etc.

Can anybody explain the steps in creating remote cubes...assigning datasources to it etc. I need to create one using a LIS structure. If anybody can direct me to any documentation that would be nice too.

I received a new laptop, and using suggested info, saved my profile so that I could save my bookmarks and passwords, etc... How do I get my profile back?

I've tried copying and pasting the old file in to replace the old, but then I couldn't get firefox to open at all. Then I went in and just replaced the bookmark backups, but nothing showed up.

If I restore my iPhone from last night's iCloud back up will I lose any new messages or info saved since the back up was done?

I just updated to iOS 7.0.4 and I had to delete most of my photos to have enough space to perform the update. I did an iCloud back up last night that has all deleted photos. If I restore the most recent back up will I lose any new messages that I have sent or received since the back up was done last night?

Yes. Restoring to a backup takes the phone back to the date and time of the backup and anything done since that time is lost, with the exception of your update to iOS.

dreamweaver 8 seems to delete password whenever i shut down
pc - new to this game and this isnt a big deal but annoying!

Upgrade to 8.0.2 and it will fill the problem
