  • Remote Log Targets not working in ACS

    Dear all
I have 2 x ACS boxes configured as Primary & secondary.
In ACS1 - In monitoring and reports-> option  I can see the User authentication, authorization and Accounting activities logs. I want to configure ACS2 as remote log server.
For that in ACS1, in System administration->Log configuration-> remote log targets->new
    Added as - ACS2- 1.1.1.2 - in Advance options -
Port-20514 (default is 514, need to change to 20514 , Instructions  from Cisco),
    Facility mode - Level6
    Maximum length -1024
In logging categoris - in Global - Edit "AAA Audit" - remote syslog Targets - i have added - Logcollector (ACS1) and ACS2.
In Log collector optin --> ACS1 is configured.
After this , i  open ACS2 - Monitoring and reports optin to view the logs but when ever i click - it is diverting to ACS1.
if i change log collector in ACS1 as ACS2, i can see the logs on ACS2. so at a time i can see logs only one ACS box.
I would like to view the logs in both ACS boxes. can any one help me please.

As per Cisco,  you can not able to User 2 ACS boxes simultanously to recevie log messages. Remote Log targets for Syslog Server.
so, i can't use simultanously 2 x acs boxes , i need to go for syslog server.
    Chapter 19, "Understanding Logging"
    Configuring Remote Log Targets
You can configure specific remote log targets (on a syslog server only) to receive the logging messages for a specific logging category. See Chapter 19, "Understanding Logging" for more information on remote log targets. See Configuring Logging Categories, page 18-25 for more information on the preconfigured ACS logging categories.

  • Sorry - basic question; 'Simplest way to set-up Remote Log-in'

    I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, but the question is at least quite simple;
what's the best, quickest, 'easiest' way of remotely logging on from home to work i.e.
to access and use applications and files.
Leopard at home, Leopard at work ...

Leopard's built-in screen sharing. Search your Mac Help for "screen sharing" for information and instructions. If you need further assistance, you can probably get lots if help in the Mac OS X 10.5 Networking forum.

  • ARD 3.6.1 remote log in Unix command failure

Hello, I am using 10.7.5 and ARD 3.6.1 and cannot figure out how to remotely log in to another computer
I wish to remotely log in using ARD to multiple computers in my network, up to 30 at a time for elementary students.  I can observe, control and send Unix commands to the machines when they are at startup log in screen or in use. This is the Unix command I am trying to use to log into the comptuer using ARD and Unix command function.
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke "login"'; \
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke tab'; \
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to delay 0.5'; \
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke "password"'; \
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to delay 0.5'; \
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke return'
**and yes I am changing the login and password keystroke**
I have tried the above Unix command and several others but I get a message saying "A console user is not logged in on “studnetmacbook""  so I click the button to run command as user admin but then get the message below.
36:50: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
36:49: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
36:54: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
36:52: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
36:52: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
Could someone explain these errors.  Is ARD not compatible with remote log in with the versions I have?  I have seen on sites this is posted and other sites that this needs to be run as the root user...Should I know how to run this as a root user and if so could someone help me with how to do this?
Or if anyone else has a working command could you share it with me for remotely logging in using ARD.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Don't quite recognise what it is you're using. Maybe try:
    osascript <<EOF
    tell application "System Events"
    keystroke "whateverusernameyou'reusing"
    keystroke tab
    delay 0.5
    keystroke "whateverthepasswordis"
    delay 0.5
    keystroke return
    end tell
    EOF
Instead. Works every time for me.
The above are all on separate lines.
    HTH?

  • Build 9879 - Need to restart Win 10 if remotely logged on from other windows machine

    Hi,
Installed Win 10 32 bit Build 9879. I remotely logon to the Win 10 machine without any problem from my laptop. The problem comes when I try log in from Win 10 machine itself (i.e. which has Win 10 installed). No password screen... only black screen
    with a mouse.
Work around is to do remote log on to Win 10 and restart the system.
Is anyone faced similar problem ? How to resolve it ?
    Thanks,
    Mukul

    Hi Mukul,
It sounds like you have a log on issue, right?
Based on my understanding, when the Windows 10 9879 starts, you can remotely login from other PCs, but you have a native login issue.
If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know about it.
If there is no password screen, I would suspect this is a corrupted installation. You can remotely launch the system recovery to perform a Refresh:

  • Trying to remote log into work and they require OS X v.10.7 Lion.  I have OS X 10.9.5 - same thing or how do I even know?

Trying to remote log into work and they require OS X v.10.7 Lion.  I have OS X 10.9.5 - same thing or how do I even know?

Thanks for the suggestions AyeSee - but I already know how to configure the mouse to perform a single task (e.g., rotating the mouse wheel = vertical scrolling OR rotating the mouse wheel = switching between desktops).  Per my original post I am wondering if there is a way to configure the mouse so that the functionality differs depending on whether I am working on desktops (rotating the mouse wheel = vertical scrolling) or in mission control (rotating the mouse wheel = switching between desktops).
For those also wanting to gain some MacBook trackpad-like functionality with their Logitech mouse when running OS X Lion (or later), as a workaround, I currently have a logitech M110 mouse configured as follows:
    > rotating the mouse wheel = vertical scrolling (equivalent to trackpad two-finger swipe up and down)
    > pessing the mouse wheel = open Mission Control (equivalent to trackpad three-finger swipe up)
    > titlting wheel left or right = switch between desktops, both when working in a given desktop or when in mission control (equivalent to track-pad three-finger swipe left or right).
Instructions for configuring a Logitech mouse are available within help in the Logitrech Contol Center (appears under "Other" section of System Preferences).

  • ACS 5.2 - unable to delete remote log target

    Hello Everyone,
I have two ACS 5.2 running as primary and secondary instances respectively.  When I try to delete a remote log target under
    System Administration >
    ... >
    Configuration >
    Log Configuration >
    Remote Log Targets
I get the following error message...."The item you trying to delete is referenced by other items. You must remove all references to this item before it
    can be deleted".
I have searched the configuration within the web gui and was unable to find anything that reference the object that I'm trying to delete.  Has anyone
    experienced the same thing?
    Thanks.

Did you check the logging categories?
For each category check the "Remote syslog Target" tab and see if the log Target you are trying to delete appears in any of the "Selected Targets"

  • Remote log in to pc

I have a macbook pro and want to remotely log in to a PC. how do I do it?

If you have MS Office on your Mac, you will find the Remote Desktop Connection application in the Office folder. That gives you full remote connectivity to the PC, including folder sharing and file transfer.

  • Nexus - enable remote logging of entered commands

    Hi all!
Is there same way to enable remote logging of entered commands on Nexus platform? I found only how to do it with aaa and tacacs+, but we do not have such? In classic IOS it was quite easy to do.
    Thanks.

    Hi Igor
Nexus has internal accounting log: sh accouting log
But it can be sent only to the accounting server, not to a syslog server.
If you want - you man manually export it to some log.

  • Setting up a remote log in from macbook air to a server

best way to set up remote log in from Macbook Air to a protected server to do work from macbook air remotely

    Hi,
if your printer is supported to be published in the Internet, you may able to do this. If it is not supported and if the Printer is not in the same network or directly connects
to your Windows Server 2003, I’m afraid that there is no method to setup.
To connect to a printer on a network

  • Remote Logging for ACS

I am testing remote logging in ACS. Is it by design that logging from all ACS appliances goes to the same files configured by the Configuration Provider? Whatever is specified in the other ACS appliances is ignored and all entries from all appliances end up being logged to the same file.
    Just would like confirmation. Thanks.

    Hi
There are some real problems with remote logging:
    1) Requires a dedicated server to receive logs
    2) Not all logs are supported
    3) Constant increased traffic over WAN
    4) Added CPU burden on each ACS
    5) Increased latency in AAA responses from ACS
Take a look at CSVSYNC. Its our answer to all these issues. A simple CLI driven .exe that can connect via HTTP(s) to any number of ACSs (software and appliace) and pull down *all* csv logs.
It can be scheduled and scripted to run at quiet times.

  • Remote logging

    Hey
I've tried to make remote logging happen with my Airport Extreme. For one, I can't find the logs files (where are they?. And secondly when I follow Apple's instruction on:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA21492
I get this error after typing "sudo syslogd -m 0 -u": 14168 launchd checkin failed
I'm gathering that if I get that error, the logging doesn't work. So what do I do here?

    Hi
I have the same issue, albeit with the error returned as
    37893 launchd checkin failed
Did you manage to find an answer? Anyone else out there know?

  • ACS SE 4.01 crashing when enabled remote logging

We are running acs se 4.01 and whenever i turn on the remote logging to our agent, the ACS itself becomes unusable until I turn logging off again. Any ideas?

    Hi
If you mean, that as soon as you enable remote logging, authentication starts failing, then there are some issues with remote logging.
Also consider upgrading to latest ACS version, rather then being on 4.0(1)
CSCeg40355 : Authentication failures when remote logging fails
I am pretty sure its resolved in 4.1.1
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs
Be sure to use same remote agent version, as your ACS server software version.
