Its difficult if the Logging is not enabled (Userenv / Netlogon). But you can try the freeware of

Lumia 520 "Remote wipe of user data via Internet"
I'm interested in purchasing a Lumia 520 and read on the spec site that it can do "Remote wipe of user data via Internet" (http://www.nokia.com/in-en/phones/phone/lumia-520/specifications/).
Is there any special software that I need to be able to do this (like have it connected to a BlackBerry server in the case of enterprise BlackBerry devices) or is it as simple as stated on (http://www.noknok.tv/2013/05/02/how-to-find-your-lost-nokia-lumia-running-windows-phone-8/) where all you have to do is log into windowsphone.com where you can erase a linked phone?
This phone will be used for business so in case it is lost I need the ability te remote wipe it. Our company currently has a BB server and we all have BB devices, but with BB not doing so well I was thinking of getting a Nokia.
Thanks.
Solved!

So far so good. That's great news. If I could ask one follow up question though:
Would it matter if the same SIM is installed on the phone? Lets say the 'thief' was able to get into the phone with a different SIM (if the security was not setup correctly) - would the phone be erased based on the SIM that's installed or on the IMEI number of the device?
Thanks
If there's no data connection, windowsphone.com cannot access your phone to send push notifications and if push notifications fail, then it will try to send SMS to your phone.
I just tried to ring my phone after taking out the SIM card, it was connected to wi-fi and I could ring it.
The silence will fall -
Logging the ipaddress of the remote user

or even some where elseI have done a lot search and collected many cases. My problem is the default gateway changed. All cases I collected can be found this link:

Sshd log all commands from remote user
Is it possible to configure sshd so that all commands that the remote user issues when logged in via ssh are logged to a file?

Apparently the new guide software--1.9.5--is problematic when implemented on a Cisco stb in that the remote no longer works properly--apparently no matter which key on the remote is pressed, a "0" (zero) is displayed and I would suspect this would be a problem on 3rd party remotes also. Verizon is aware of the problem and has delayed further rollout of the new software until they figure out a fix. See the following thread here in the forum: http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-TV-Technical-Assistance/STB-responding-to-other-remotes-as-if-I-pr...
Do you have a Cisco stb and has the new guide software been pushed to the stb? -
I have two servers - One is 10.4.6 and the other is 10.3.9. All managed clients are 10.2.8 or 9.2.2. All work well except for 4 10.2.8 clients in our library. Suddenly these 4 computers don't allow any remote users to log in. The users are authenticated and the login process begins - but after processing for a bit it returns to the login screen. The client log shows a loginwindow crash when users try to log in. I've un-bound the computers from the servers & removed the MCX cache files. The computers function normally when not bound to the servers, infact local users can log in and work normally. Reconnecting the computers to the servers returns the problem. Any suggestions or things I can try?
Hi Michael,
According to your description, it seems like there is something wrong with the domain group policy configuration.
I suggest you run command GPresult.exe on the terminal server to find out whether correct group policy settings are applied.
You may use the /h option to get a clear .html view.

Hi, we are currently having issues with remote users when their AD account flags that their password needs to be changed.
This happens when GPO enforces the user to change their password whilst they are not connected via a 3rd party VPN (OVPN Connect) which relies upon LDAP Authentication. When they next login, LDAP authentication knows that the password should have been changed
and therefore will not allow users to connect securely. Because they cannot connect, they cannot get the Windows prompt to tell them that they need to change their password.
Bit of a vicious circle. Can anyone suggest a work around or tweak for this?
Thanks in advance
I did come across an article but it applies to Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818088/en-gb any updated versions of this for Windows 7?> they are not connected via a 3rd party VPN (OVPN Connect) which relies
> upon LDAP Authentication. When they next login, LDAP authentication

You need to use a solution that can handle this situation within the VPN
client (wich yours seemingly cannot)...

Is it possible to have a remote user on your iphone if you never set on up?
My Iphone over the last couple of months has been acting very weird- I can not turn it off, my battery dies in 2 hours, it switches screens on me in the middle of me doing something.
i have both "user processes and root user processes running all of the time
i have never set up a root user
I live with my boyfriend who has a mac - ipad and iphone- we use the same wireless network
He has vuze and bit torrent which both i cant seen to run properly as the way they are safed or locked i can not access the files - he also has vmware fusion- again i am unable to run it -
I was told by a friend to turn on my data and watch it to see which programs or applications that I have could be possibly malfunctioning- since then I have notices in my data the following:
there are ports on my connections which i have looked up and are all associated with hacking - 5353-5433-6401-5223--80- so many more I cant bare to look through all the data I have saved- I am not technology savy - the whole process of trying to figure out if this is true or even possible is emotionally and mentally draining-
in my data there are key logs some short some long- some private some public?

which have information such as -

PLEASE HELP - phone dies in two hours - cant turn off - switches screens - yes I've up dated software- leave kn charger over night and have 60% battery
I'm willing to send all info to anyone who will provide some type of reasonable answer for me other than back it up wipe it clean and restart BC- I live with the person I believe did It and really that's not going to help as I already have - would like more definitive info -Will do that tomorrow - but the problem is- he has had access to my iCloud since I got an iPhone - we live together - have for a long time he set it up for me - I never realized there was a possibility he could possibly hack my phone entirely through that- and im still not sure - as answers here are vague- I don't have a problem with him viewing any info there- I never set up much more than contacts and find my iPhone which - who cares if he looks where I am - I don't lie about that- but until I started having multiple persistent problems with my phone - and finding many locked files on his Mac and Cydia on his iPad -( after hours of digging) - I never had a clue to think maybe he hacked my phone - I started really researching the concept and found vuze BitTorrent VMware strange wifi numbers - different locations on Mac - apple script and text edit files - pdf files that made no sense- stuffit - frankly i dont know what any o it really means- the problem is - I don't think going to apple tomorrow having them fix it - and not knowing if the problem is here at home is going to help this situation -if he is hacking / remote using - my phone on the level I think he has - I clearly can't figure it out with the knowledge I have in regards to this software - never knew he was into it - and frankly I think If its true its pretty easy for him to do again as we share everything here - can apple look at the information I have and really answer this question or do I need to find someone who will be able to understand the data ( im sure apple will -but who wants their product hack able) and all I've heard is its impossible to hack an apple phone with out jail breaking it - which from what I've looked at the last month I'm not sure about that if you share all your devices constantly. I would just like a definitive yes or no - and before I wipe it clean - it's kind of a serious thing.

No "Remote-User" in HTTP header when HTTP request gets to WLS
Hello Exprers,
I have a customer, using 10.3.3 on Linux machine. Web server as Apache.
He wants Remote-User in HTTP header, he used to get it when he used Tomcat. But when he transffered to Apache and 10.3.3, he is not getting the Remote-User in header, instead he is getting proxy-remote-user.
He wants the Remote-user in HTTP header.
Any clue, on why he is not getting it.Hi,
We are facing error while doing openConnection
When I tried with simple java file it worked as shown below
import java.io.*;
import javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection;
public class test
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
String httpsURL = "https://rcfe.aspac.citicorp.com:40054/servlet/Verify";
URL myurl = new URL(httpsURL);
HttpsURLConnection con = (HttpsURLConnection)myurl.openConnection();
InputStream ins = con.getInputStream();
InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(ins);
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(isr);
if (con!=null)
System.out.println("con="+con);
System.out.println(ins);
Output*
[rcrrgbg2@kauh0079:/rcrmap2/weblogic/bea/ORA_PFRD/forms/j2ee] java test
con=com.ibm.net.ssl.www2.protocol.https.e:https://rcfe.aspac.citicorp.com:40054/servlet/Verify
sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$HttpInputStream@5f6c5f6c
However when I tried with below program I am able to write upto Web CL URL but after that no log is written when it tries to do openConnection() for this line csConn=(HttpsURLConnection)new URL(webclURL).openConnection(); in the below code

Report on remote users mapped drives
After a very thorough search, I can't find anyone else who has had this question answered.
I have a need to on-the-fly report on the mapped drives and their letters of users on remote computers. Running "Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_MappedLogicalDisk | select Name, ProviderName" only returns my drives under my credentials, not the remote user. Looking
at HKU:\sid\network apparently only reports persisent mapped drives or drives mapped by the customer and not drives mapped by logon script that are not persistent.
There doesn't seem to be a way to do this on-the-fly which is dissapointing, so I'm hoping you'll have a trick up your sleeve!
The only way I can figure to get the information, but not on the fly, is to have a logon script run as the user and grab the info and save it somewhere. I'm really hoping not to resort to that. All of that becomes historical info and won't reflect changes
that happen after logon, so it's not going to always be a true reflection of reality.
The key seems to be running a wmi query as someone else that you don't have credentials for. Is that possible? Or do you have another suggestion?
IanI believe this post may already be closed. I, however, would like to add my findings: When I run this against different pc's with different users logged on: Get-WmiObject
-Class Win32_MappedLogicalDisk -ComputerName <remote computer> | select Name, ProviderName
(Keep in mind that I'm a local admin on my pc as well as the destination pc's
as well.)
1. The logged on user is non-admin on their pc.
Mapped drives are not retrieved
2. The logged on user is admin on their pc.
Mapped drives are retrieved
3. I'm logged on to the remote pc (local admin)
Mapped drives are retrieved
Conclusion: As long as the target pc logged on user is local admin on that pc then the
mapped network drives will be pulled by the previously mentioned command. Otherwise, it will come back empty.
A question posted previously was: "I'm
curious why you need to know mapped drives??" In my case, I am trying to back up mapped network drives for all domain users. However, logon or logoff scripts are not
an option.
The real question should be: Why is the previously mentioned command not pulling the mapped network drives when the logged on user is not a local admin on the target pc?
I believe the answer is that the drives are not mapped to the remote computer per se, but to the user's process on the remote computer. And while an admin on that computer has significant power over the hardware and operating system, it cannot take control
of the process, which is locked by the user's credentials.
Consider remote control. My regular account is logged onto another computer. I run mstsc to establish a remote control session on that remote system under the same credentials. The effect is to disconnect the other remote session and lock the system on its
console, and for the new session to inherit the original process, seeing the same desktop with the same apps open.
I then run mstsc to establish another remote control session, this time using an account that is an administrator on that system. It tells me my regular account is already logged on, and gives me two options, abort my new session, or log the user out. using
my admin credentials, I cannot take over the user's session and see what applications he has open or what drives he may have mapped.

Huge volume of records are routing to the remote user other than his position and organization records. Synchronization and DB initialization taking more time around 36 hours.
Actual accounts & contacts need to be route around 2000 & 3000 but we have observed lakhs of records routing into local DB.
We have verified all the Assignment Rules, Views.
We ran docking object visibility rules and we have observed that some other accounts are routing due to Organization rule passing. (these records are not supposed to route).
Version Siebel 7.7.2.12,
OS Solaris.let me know what would be the reason that 1st million takes only 15 minuts and the time goes on increasing gradually with the increase of dataYes that's a little strange. I only can guess:
1. You are in archivelog mode and the Archiver is not able to archive the redo logs fast enough
2. You don't use Direct Load and DBWR ist not able to write the direty block to disk fast enough. You could create more DBWR processes in that case.
3. Make a snapshot of v$system_event:
create table begin as select * from v$system_event;After the import run
create table end as select * from v$system_event;Now compare the values:
select * from begin order by TIME_WAITED_MICRO descwith the values given you by
select * from end order by TIME_WAITED_MICRO descSo you can look where your DB spent so much time waiting for something.
Alternativly, you could start a 10046 trace on the loading session and use tkprof.

Try To drag and drop rollback operation from the data control.
and bind it to a button say 'Cancel'
When u press the create button it will create an empty record. After clicking crate button u can press the cancel button (bind to rollback operation) -
AD SSO not happening for Remote Users
Dear Members
I am having an issue with the NAC Deployment for Remote users (Users behind WAN Router)
Windows AD SSO (2008) is happening for LAN users successfullly, however remote users
are not able to do AD SSO.
it is ensured that remote users even in unauthenticated state can reach Active directory. there is no filtering
on any of the device across the path, for this communication.
When i use Kerbtray on the remote PC, i found no tickets at all.(i am logged in thru Domain)
what could be going wrong, is it delay (as they are wan user) which might attribute this issue, and if so, where are the needed parameters that can be tuned for AD SSO to happen.
Any help will ne highly appreciated.
thanks
AhadHi Ahad,
As long as ALL the policies in Table 8-1 are configured for the Unauthenticated Role
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/48/cas/s_adsso.html#wp1174219
the CAS should be out of the picture for what concerns the communication between the PC and Kerberos.
If the Kerbtray.exe output for a failing user is empty, it means that the unsuccessful users do not have any Service Ticket (ST) at all.
This points to an issue with AD (considering the fact that the CAS is already allowing all the traffic to/from AD).
The failing users are either unable to send the Ticket-Granting Ticket (TGT) to AD, or they are unable to obtain the Service Ticket (ST) from AD.
The CAS during this phase is neither performing any actions nor blocking any traffic, since all the communications to/from AD are already fully open in the unauthenticated role.

Fede

Reconnecting a remote user to the Volume Manager
I have a remote user who has been gertting a license from my Volume Manager.
At the end of last week (when there were some network issues) he was disconnected from the server, and now he can't seemed to reconnect.
He's now on a 14 day count-down (expiring 7th Dec), so he's anxious to get this resolved soon.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting from the Volume Manager, but that didn't help.
Any clues?
TIA
Richard
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Richard,
There are a couple of things that we can try. The first is to also check the connection using the Telnet command. This allows you to check the specific TCP port for connectivity whereas the ping command is lower level than this. Instructions for this are here. If this fails then you need to check that your firewalls are allowing connections on the ports that are used by VLM.
If this succeeds then this means that your network connections should be OK. If this is the case then the next thing to check is that the correct port is set up in the License Manager of the client machine. By default the port used is 27000 but you can specify specific ports if you have set this up on your server.
Finally if this appears to be correct then attempt to connect to the server and if it still fails check the debug log of the server. This should give some more information as to why it is not allowing the client to check out a license.
Regards,
James Mc
