Remote on iPod Touch crashes with Apple TV

I have a 4th Gen iPod Touch that I use just as a remote. Since I updated to the latest version of AppleTV software this week, Apple's Remote app will launch and does connect to the AppleTV (3rd Gen) but it crashes almost immediately after the first action. I have the app on an iPhone 5 as well (although its obviously a later version) and it's stable.
The Remote app version is 3.0.1 (599.20)
iOS version 6.1.6 (10B500)
AppleTV version 6.1.1 (6698.99.19)
There's plenty of space available (3.2GB) and I have tried reinstalling the app from the App Store*, and doing a hard reboot. Before I go through restoring the iPod, does anyone have any advice please?
*I do get the offer of the iOS 6 compatible version.

I think I found the answer: phantom data.
I started to get a message about the iPod being full shortly after posting my question.
In the end, I decided to wipe and restart. With only a few apps and no user data this was not too much of a chore and seems to have fixed the problem.

Ipod Touch works with APPLE and not WINDOWS

I have a first generation touch. Yesterday the PC crashed while syncing with the iTouch. After that it would not see the iPod any longer. However the APPLE I have sees it just fine. I have gone through the detailed uninstall and re install itunes process several times and tried cleaning the registry - still nothing http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 .
The PC based iTunes syncs with another 2G and a nano and a shuffle just fine. Windows also sees the 1G Touch..... ideas other than moving my library to my laptop? I have also reset the 1G and upgraded the software now to the latest firmware. It still works with the APPLE but not with the PC. I am sure this is a driver issue but I cannot get it fixed.

Well I happened on the answer after doing a lot of searches. Why doesn't apple post the fix on their site. This problem is due to their installation package for Vista and the fix does not require all the uninstalls and re installs you have been asked to do so many times....

This solution is very similar to one above but worked for me. Am using iPod Touch 2nd Gen with 32 bit version of Windows Vista where the iTouch is being seen by Windows but does not show in iTunes. In my case it was being identified by Windows as a camera. I tried un-installing and re-installing iTunes and all the other Apple apps with no luck. Was almost ready to throw in the towel when I did one last search for alternate solutions and found the following instructions to reinstall the drivers, but instead of having the system look to the c:\Windows\inf or c:\windows\system 32 folders for the drivers, the path is changed to C:\program files\common files\Apple\Apple Mobile Support\Drivers, which is apparently where Vista installs the drivers. Once I changed the path the driver properly reflected the iTouch as a USB device, and not a digital camera. Try this if you are having similiar issues.
Here are the steps:
1. Verify you have the following files usbaapl.cat, usbaapl.inf & usbaapl.sys in the following directory "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers"
2. Log in using an ADMINISTRATIVE account
3. Single left click on START
4. Single left click on RUN (You may need to change the start menu to 'classic view' to see RUN, you can change back after if you like)
5. Type in " devmgmt.msc " then hit Enter (Don't type in the quotes)
6. Look for Imaging in the Device Manager window, and click on plus sign (In Vista you may not see the "Imaging" option. Look under "Portable Devices" as an alternative)
7. Now you should see " Apple iPod " as a device underneath Imaging (or Portable Devices)
8. Right click on " Apple iPod " then single left click on Properties
9. Single left click on the " Driver " tab
10. Single left click on " Update driver "
11. Select " Install from a list or specific location " or "Browse my computer" whichever shows on your version of Vista
12. Single left click on " Include this location in the search " if shown
13. Paste " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers " (Don't type in the quotes) into the box " Include this location in the search "
14. Single left click NEXT and keep clicking through until " Apple iPod USB Driver " is detected, if no list appears then you should see the little animated circle thingie spinning. It's looking and working. Be patient.
15. Hopefully you will get a successful message.
16. The correct drivers(s) are now installed.
17. Start up iTunes, and see if you iPod is detected again.
Hope this works for you as it did for me and several others.

Ipod Touch frozen with Apple logo & loading bar below!

My laptop shutdown while my Ipod was updating software. It is frozen with the apple logo & the loading bar below. When I turned my laptop back on, it will not recognize my Ipod. This means I cannot even try restoring it. I have unplugged & plugged back in & tried holding the buttons on the Ipod for 10 seconds. I'm not sure what to do! Help please!

IPod Touch gen1 with apple composite av cable sound comes out but no video?

I have a iPod touch gen1 and ipod touch gen2 and with gen1 IPT audio comes out but no video on the tv. Whereas the gen2 works fine. I have brought the Apple Composite AV cable about 3 days ago.

Your av composite cable isnt compatible with the ipod touch 4G, i assure you that. It will work on older devices like what you have said... But ipod touch 4G is completely a high tech device in present generation. Apple cables/cables are compatible specifically to a device. Try to buy cables conpatible with iphone 4 above and i assure you it will perfectly work with an ipod touch 4G. Iphone 3gs model is inferior to 4th generation models. So maybe the cable cant function properly on higher models because its firmware, specs., etc. is more advanced.

IPod touch crashed with white screen after using Griffin TuneJuice

Hello all,
I have an iPod touch first generation that has worked flawlessly for about 1,5 years. Recently I bought a Griffin TuneJuice (external battery) to get longer battery life. The salesperson said it should work with the Touch, and it did at first. But later on it did not charge the iPod anymore. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, restarting the iPod and so on.
Suddenly the screen of the iPod went completely white after a reboot. I can not get it to show anything anymore. I have tried resetting (holding power+home for 10 secs), reformatting and restoring, upgrading the firmware to 2.2 but none seems to work.
Googling for the problem it seems everyone who encountered this got it repaired under warranty, which is obviously not a solution for me since it's too old. So what I need to know is from a technical point of view what goes wrong when the screen is blank. The iPod seems to work otherwise (for example, it syncs perfectly with the computer and the "clicks" are playing).
I guess that something must be wrong with the firmware at a lower level than iTunes can repair. Is it possible to repair the firmware by using some lowlevel tool?
Or could this be a hardware problem (the guy in the store suggested the docking connector might have broken or short-circuited). In that case, is there any good guide on how to open and repair an iPod?
From searching different forums it seems the problem is quite common, and I hope that someone smart enough has got the problem and managed to solve it.

hold the power bottom and the home bottom then it will shut off after that just turn it back on ,then it should work, it may take longer than 10 seconds, you gotta be patient.. because i had the white screen and did this, hope it helps.

Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall for the network problem.
Also for the original problem try the following if Ana's suggestions does not work
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.

Once I find the game i will truly screenshot that it states "not compatible for these models". I just find it RIDICULOUS that my iPod touch is in good condition and some of the applications that I want download sometimes are not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. That doesn't work either, because every time that I try to do it, when i push the Sleep/Wake button for a long time, it doesn't work, and when i hold the Sleep/Wake button ánd the Home-button, like the page 'Unable to update or restore' says, my screen turns black/white real quick, and then it begins with rebooting again.
